Excellent food, quick service, hot, tasty, and great prices. Love coming for the lunch special. Great portion sizes, too! I’ve been coming here for decades and always reliably excellent. Sit down, get hot tea and crunchy noodles, then dig into hot tasty yummy food.

So I love to support local businesses, and decided to check out this Chinese food place since I was craving some classic Chinese food.Walked in, and the place was EMPTY on a Sunday evening. We got seated and immediately noticed the dining room was stuck in the early 90s felt like it hadnt been updated in over 30 years. The walls were dirty and all scratched up. Paint is cheap, I never understand why business owners cant see what everyone else sees. Look around, dont you go to other restaurants ever to see how they look or to get inspired??The chairs are unfortunately part of the decor problem so ugly and dated from 30 years ago.They handed us paper menus, which said a lot. But I wanted to give them a chance.The food came out. We ordered the spare ribs, which seemed like they were nooked in a microwave part of the meat, which was dry and HARD.The main courses came out, and the portion was decent, but the flavors were very dull and nothing to write home about. Barely any veggies and so much sauce. The sesame beef dish and the pinnapple chicken dish lacked flavor, didnt taste fresh. Even the pinaples in the chicken dish had no flavor and didnt even taste like pinaples. Just tasted like the mediocre sauce it was covered in.The service was ok until the food came out, then a party of 6 came in, and it was like we no longer insisted. I kept trying to get the waiters attention to get a refill. No one ever came to check on us until we were finished. That is when the cook came over and asked how everything was. I wasnt gonna offend him, but everything being done at this place is completely outdated and stuck in the 90s, including the cooking.People want fresh healthier options -- go to other Chinese restaurants that have updated decor and menus. If you want to stay in business you have to stay above the competition, not behind it.

I really liked this place but the last time we ordered I felt like I got beat out of my $70. It was not flavorful and my shrimp fried rice was cold and there werent many shrimp also the containers are smaller.

Awesome spot for tried and true traditiinal Chinese food. Tastes GREAT!!Good spot for tourists as well, a place that the locals go to.My favorites here are Sweet & Pungent Shrimp, shredded pork with garlic sauce, and Chicken with orange flavor.Soups are great too... War Wonton or Hot and Sour.Average dish is around $9-11. Specialty dishes are $12-14.

Just one of my regular extremely-hot-extra-spicy-beef-chow-mein craving, happen on a regular basis (bi-monthly if you need to know :)I enjoyed the noodles a lot, and as always, had to spice it up a bit more, all good, perfectly understood.For me, this place lack in two places, both are portion related; dish size was average at best, sam goes for the beef ratio in the dish, if not poorer.All to all, food was tasty and fresh, and the place was clean.

I did a in person takeout order around 1pm for a schezwan beef entree, not lunch special. Meal ok but not worth ~$15 in an 8X5x1 inch container and I also had to remind them about my soup which they forgot. Hence be careful if you go there so you are not ripped off

New to the area and decided to try this place out and Im glad we did. We ordered the chicken chow fun, cashew chicken, beef with broccoli and a side of rice. The portions are plentiful and the food was amazing! My girlfriend praised the beef with broccoli and shes very picky about her beef with broccoli. Definitely will be coming back.

Im going to start my review by saying, wow! This place is a must if youre in the area.. its a 5 minute drive from Topanga mall. food is so flavorfull and delicious! Its a hidden gem for sure. My only complain is that it needs some remodeling it looks a bit run down but dont let that fool you. Food was delicious and will be returning when Im in the area 10/10 taste wise.

Been coming here since 1986! Its changed hands a few times. Gone up and down like neighborhood. This last management change is by far the best. Cant say enough about the crispy half duck !! Delicious...Better than china town! War won ton soup full of all the tasty goodies. Hands down best Chinese in the valley! Great service! A true hidden gem !

Unbelievable. Placed order. Told 1hr. 1hr 45 minutes later the driver calls from his car to try to tell me to come get my food. This is like ordering curbside pickup but parking across the street. I told the driver go to the Back. He says OK. I go stand out back for 5 mins and nothing I try calling back and nothing. So I start to go back inside and he finally comes walking from the Front! SMH.Then whatever. We sit down to FINALLY eat. Plates served lets chow. Nope this trash is tasteless, there is absolutely no flavor. 2 chicken dishes, GARLIC chicken and CASHEW chicken. Smelled like garlic, tasted like nothing but boiled chicken and bell peppers. Cashew chicken, we counted all 8 cashews. Wow. Also no flavor none zip zero zilch. Tastes exactly like the garlic chicken minus the ever so slight heat from the chili in the garlic chicken. Then the WAY over priced walnut shrimp. So bland, basically just unseasoned fried shrimp. The sauce again had no flavor! We thought we had covid and lost our sense of taste. Then we tried the soy sauce and guess what! It tasted like soy sauce!I highly highly do not recommend this place. I went off the rating but that clearly is wrong. Or the hundreds of people who would not eat here again just did not think it was worth their time to review.

Very disappointing, the sauce on all the dishes tasted the same. Everything was sweet, nothing spicy even when it showed it was spicy on the menu. The staff was pleasant enough but the food wasnt good. I see you responded regarding the sauces, and Im sure you mean well - however, this wasnt Szechuan food - at all, it was more Cantonese than anything else.

Definitely a twilight zone experience. Usually very quiet because most people are ordering takeout. Prices are very reasonable and dishes should be shared. Its a bit hidden behind the shopping center but once you find it youll definitely return. Be sure to try the lomien.

Excellent resturant. Have been coming here for years with my family. The atmosphere is intimate but not imposing, the soup is well done, the tea is pleasant, and entrees are well prepared and served in filling portions.I recommend the beef broccoli, cashew chicken, kung pao chicken, orange chicken, crispy beef, or the soft noodle lo mein.

I have been going to Szechwan Inn on Sherman Way in Canoga Park since I was a young girl. My Grandmother would take me there after shopping to enjoy lunch. It has been well over 30 plus years now and I still continue to stop in for a quick lunch and frequently order take out. I absolutely love the Moo goo gai pan, Paper wrapped chicken and the Lo mien, and the Walnut Shrimp is an absolute must try! Everything they make is freshly made to order and they will gladly customize your order for your taste, food preferences or any allergies. They only use corn starch during cooking and this is one of the reasons I love the food. It is not cooked with wheat flour, making it gluten friendly. The gentleman that answers the phone and is always there (owner or manager) of restaurant is happy to listen to you as a customer and gives consistent 5 Star customer service. This restaurant may be tucked away into a little corner, it is a little dark (which I secretly love), and it is sometimes quiet but dont let that fool you! You will get consistent quality, fresh and piping hot Chinese delivery in 30 minutes and a friendly greeting from your driver. This is my go to spot!

This is my favorite Chinese Restaurant! We started coming here when we moved to Woodland Hills from Boston. Now, 30 years later, and a move to Sherman Oaks, we still are coming here. We eat in... we take out... we love it here!! The service is good, the prices are good and there is plenty of free parking.

Very good service. Very patient. We went for a family gathering of 11 people. The main family members is late 80 and another one is 96. Some family members came from out of town and were late. The staff was very patient and good service. The bathroom could use some updating, though.

Boy, what a surprise! Tucked behind a ralphs grocery a small door opens memories of chinese restaurants of yore. Clean and colorful, I had ordered on the phone for take out. The friendly proprietor(not good with names) and I chatted for a while. He gave me my food and off I went. When I got home and opened the package wow there was so much food. We had enough for three meals.We had delicious sweet and sour pork. The sauce was sweet and sour and the pork was crispy. I had a beef dish, dont remember which one, but it was cooked well and the sauce was great.Were going to return and dine in perhaps well see you there

I just had dinner tonight. It is my favorite restaurant for chines food. However they put on the table a biwl if crispy noodle. We didnt eat it and we took part of the dinner to go. I asked the waiter for a small bag to take the crispy noodle home and je answers was: They are for eating here, no to take it home! Really, a small bowl of crispy noodle and he didnt have the kindness to give me a small bag? It was rude. Its about time for me to look for another chinese restaurant.PS: all the time I go to this place I take the crispy noodle. And the restaurant was empty. Now I wonder why.

Good food however after paying for my meal i walked out of the restaurant with my family and within a few steps from the door the lady who i paid my meal with my family had followed us out and said the check didnt include the tip. My check came out to be 67 dollars and because she insisted that the tip was not included i found myself giving her a tio of 7 dollars. I have never gone to a place where they would run after someone to say the check didnt include the tip. Very very unprofessional.

Awful. They did not acknowledge us as we entered, then after we were seated, it took a while for the waitress to finally get our order... All the meanwhile, the nice, latino guy who cleans up the tables, he welcomed us, seated us and served us hot tea...Now in regards to the meal, several words: not fresh, not as pictured on the menu (missing certain veggies that are clearly evident that they are part of the dish), shrimp entree tasted bland and as if the shrimp took a dirt bath, chicken dish was the one missing a considerable amount of veggies, and finally the fried rice tasted like leftover rice from the day before, only reheated for consumption...the ONLY thing tasty was the Lo MeinI am baffled that this place had a 4.4 in reviews...
