Wanted to see what all the hype is about. Stopped by and the tacos are delicious. Its definitely a must if in the area. The owner informed us they will be closing at the end of the season, so if you get a chance to get over there for some yummy tacos.. run! Its a VERY small place and seating is limited but worth it. Parking is limited.. Best bet is to find street parking (Good luck!).

Great location for a good bite to eat after a day out and about with friends and family. They have an extensive menu and with many vegetarian and vegan options. Make sure you are specific when ordering because the food is often pre cooked and reheated for orders.

Great local taco joint! Service was friendly and pretty fast. Parking is tough on a busy day - street parking is your best bet. The tortillas were particularly great and loved the added guac and salsa they add on when you pick up your order. Not too much seating either. I suggest going for an early lunch to heat the crowd + take advantage of their taco Tuesday special prices!

This place is a not-so-hidden gem.While fish dishes are their bread and butter, theyve also got tofu and other options for the non-fish eaters (keyword: vegeterian, vegan). Their refried beans are proudly made without lard -- but with the other l-word: Love. (You wont miss the lard.) For fish eaters, the fish is delicious, and theyve got a bunch of different fish options to choose from.The staff is entertaining and friendly. Service is relatively quick -- theyre clearly a smoothly oiled machine behind the beach-shack-not-actually-on-a-beach facade. There are a ton of fish-taco options in Laguna Beach, but wed go back to this one without a second thought.

Place sucks. Weird customer service. No flavor. Chips were literally what you’d find at a ballpark and salsa was straight out of the jar. Tacos came with no toppings and a complete waste of money. $7 for a three bites of taco.Walk down the street to Rasta taco and get a real taco if you’re in the market for some tasty food.

Ive been coming here for over 20 years, this is one of my top 3 restaurants I have to hit when Im home. Ive come here with friends, family, and by myself. The tofu mushroom burger is my favorite with a beer and a vegan brownie. I am finding a way to fly home before Gonzo closes. Heart break express 💔

The food was great, it had a nice fresh and home-made quality and was prepared quickly. I was surprised to see mexican pizza on the menu, and the blackened tofu pizza was quite filling despite being so small! The bean and cheese quesadilla was excellent. The guacamole and salsa were all very fresh. It was a little pricey for the portion sizes but I think that comes with anything in Laguna Beach.

My family and I stopped here on the way to Anaheim. I had the fish and the calamari tacos, which were amazing! The chef crafted a purple Quesadilla for my 4 year old niece, since he heard it was her favorite color. Helped to avoid a meltdown lol. Obviously this place is frequented by the locals!

I normally don’t eat tacos often but I kept hearing a lot about this place and had to check it out before 2021 ended. The lobster taco here is probably the best I ever had. Flavorful and just outstanding. The salmon taco was good, could have been a little crispier. Wait was around 20-30 mins depending on the line. My only complaint was the parking. It was tough finding parking but it’s Laguna beach.

Im so confused by this place. Like I genuinely dont get it, is it just a tourist trap perhaps? How is this place rated so high? Because I dont see why anyone would come back here more than once, especially with the absurd prices they charge?My girlfriend wanted a taco salad, and I saw that they had a beef taco salad. Simple enough. Went to check out the place and I was looking for a burrito, but after checking the menu it was 17 DOLLARS for a beef burrito. No thanks. Told her to just get her salad and I would eat somewhere else, already started to have a bad feeling. By the way, if youre not from California and youre reading this, general rule of thumb for Mexican food here is the higher the prices, the worse the food. I dont make the rules, I just live here.The thing comes out ($11 for a half salad btw) and the beef is white. You may be thinking that it was chicken, but we asked and they said no it was beef. Never seen white beef before (Im heavily implying that it was not beef. Vegie/vegan meat perhaps, maybe the worker just didnt want to remake her salad. Which is weird because there were like 2 other people eating here). Didnt help that the rest of the salad wasnt great either. Dressing was flavorless, guac was just diced avocado, no cheese, and the tortilla part was literally just 3-4 loose tostitos chip rounds. She got maybe halfway through with it, final verdict it was gross, how do you mess up a taco salad. So yeah I dont know where they get their prices from, but Im so glad I didnt order their $17 white beef burrito. Maybe the fish tacos are good? Wouldnt know, those things are like $8+ PER taco, so not paying that.About a block away theres an incredible place called Taco Stand. For two dollars more than that pitiful taco salad, you can get these loaded shrimp and high quality steak smothered fries that are so good. Went there after so I could eat, and we ended up sharing because she got nothing out of Taco Loco. Other prices for items there were great, it actually looked like real good Mexican food (staff was way nicer too).Save yourself a trip, if you want some good food go to Taco Stand about a block away. The only Loco thing about Taco Loco is their prices and white beef. The only reason Im giving this place 2 stars was because the decor was pretty cool inside.

Been coming here for decades. Best vegan food in South Orange County. Owner is a wonderful guy. Brought my wife, son, mom, and sister and there was something for everyone - vegan and non (plenty of seafood and meats). Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and their meal. Would recommend to EVERYONE. Love this place.

This is a taco stand for the ages. Its just never bad! The food is great and location is fun to watch the cars go by on pch. On slow nights you can hear the waves crashing.Im not a vegetarian but their mushroom tofu burger is excellent! The fish tacos and the carnitas tacos are delicious!

The Monday Specials were seafood tacos so we ended up trying the Lobster, Salmon, and SeaBass. Tacos were good but all felt like they were on the greasier side and would have been too oily if I didn’t have the guac to balance it out. Outdoor seating was a good idea since the indoor counter space was a bit crowded.

Um wow! These nachos were everything! Such a generous portion and you get to choose the fresh toppings to go on. The guacamole was my favorite part. Theres small seating areas. With alcoholic beverages you are limited to sitting within the gate. Might be easier to get take away instead of battling for a spot.

Everything seemed so good in the beginning. Fresh looking toppings, friendly staff; but then the food came. The meat burrito, was equivalent to a bean burrito from Taco Bell with sloppy joe on top for 5 times the price. The tacos my wife ordered were dry, and tasted a bit bland. I was very disappointed because everything looked great. Nevertheless, the guac was a 5/5.

This place has a really great atmosphere and I appreciated being able to sit outside on such a beautiful day. However, I had the fish tacos and they just weren’t very good. The guac was delicious and I really enjoyed the alcoholic Kombucha so I’m giving it three stars; but, overall, a disappointing experience. I’m not likely to go back.

The tacos here are phenomenal. My girlfriend and I only tried the mushroom and potato tacos (vegan) and they were some of the best tacos weve had. Its rare to find vegan options this good at non-vegan restaurants. I have no doubt the normal tacos are phenomenal too.

I had a blackened mahi taco and carnitas taco. Pretty amazing. Hot sauce was sufficiently hot. Mahi was moist and flaky. Carnitas was slightly dry but still good. Tacos came with guac, onions and cilantro. Parking sucks, but its Laguna.

We heard Taco Loco served some interesting takes on tacos, salads, quesadilas, etc. We tried the vegetarian mushroom nachos, blackened lobster tacos, and taco salad with blackened chicken. Each was topped with a healthy dose of incredibly fresh and delicious guacamole. Highly recommend.

This is a nice taco place in Laguna where you can enjoy a meal inside or outside. They can work with you on making something vegan or vegetarian. Their food is made fresh and their salsas are spicy.It can get busy at certain times so it’s a good idea to have someone hold a table while you order. I ordered the blackened mushroom and tofu tacos. They were delicious.You can see that their specialty is more for seafood but they are good at working with you and your dietary needs. Eat more plants.

Small taco place with huge flavor. We loved the food, though we should have ordered more... as it was our first time we did not know the portion sizes. Adults may need 3 to 4 tacos. The chips and salsa were great too. The staff was very friendly. Parking can be difficult so you will likely need to walk. There was plenty of outdoor seating available for our group.

I come to this taco shop every time I am in Laguna. Its tiny inside but trust me when I say these are some of the best tacos in OC. The meat is so tender and juicy and the pricing is reasonable considering the quality of the food. The location is walking distance to the beach too if you want to grab a quick bite to eat before. This place rocks. My wife and I stopped and ate here everyday on our trip. Its a MUST stop for a quick taco. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. It comes out within minutes and is seriously the best tacos Ive had here in Laguna. The avocado pico slaw they put on them is so fresh and delicious. I recommend the shrimp.

We arrived late from our long trip across the country and popped in for a quick bite. We ordered a variety of three fish tacos and a calamari salad bowl. Everything was amazing!! The fish was seasoned and with great spice and so fresh. The lady was so friendly and made us feel welcomed. It will be hard not to go here another 5 times before we head home. AMAZING! At first glance of the specials I saw something I never heard of a calamari quesadilla. Needless to say it was amazing. You know a good cook by how well they make calamari not rubbery and fishy and this place did it to a perfect score. Lots of cheese amazing salsa and the customer service was great as well. Little places like this are gems in the food world and this place surely did not disappoint. Also the blackened swordfish was tasty as well. Of course the price is not cheap but I feel like fresh seafood isnt going to be cheap.

The lobster was perfectly cooked, swordfish seasoned impeccably and calamari was the most tender I’ve ever had. Not only was the food awesome, the owner was so kind. We got to reopen after the pandemic with a beer on the patio. If you are in town, a native or just driving through STOP AT TACO LOCO! It’s worth it!

Ive been going to taco loco for a long time now. I would come here after jumping off the rock and I still crave this place. Im really happy to see that they are still open during the covid-19 times and now that Im vegan, this is one of the few places that Ive been going to for a long time that I still really enjoy and can eat. I got the black and mushroom tofu burger just like I have gotten for years now and I brought my daughter for the first time and she ordered a chicken taco. I thought she might want a lobster taco but she had seafood the day before and the chicken looked good. The guacamole is just as good as I always remember I definitely recommend this place.

This place is a complete asset to Laguna. Open past the city’s bedtime of 8:30pm, this friendly taco stand cranks out delicious tacos with healthy portions of salsa and guac into the reasonably later hours of the night. This place has been here for a long time. I have been going here off and on since I was younger. Its a hippie taco place. There is a smoke shop right upstairs. I think sometimes the people working at taco loco are high. But it doesnt seem to affect the tacos. They always taste the same. The prices seem to go up every time we eat there. The shrimp, lobster, swordfish, and veggie tacos are the standouts. The guacamole is good on the tacos but I think the salsas are super weak. The spicy tastes like tapatio mixed with lemon juice. The mild is very mild like tomato sauce. Its not real Mexican tacos, its hippie California beach tacos. Good once in a while.

I wanted to love this place but the shrimp was meh…. We got a shrimp ceviche (shrimp was slimy) and a shrimp taco (again, slimy shrimp) beef tacos which were just ok, and a bean and rice burrito which was pretty decent. The toppings here are excellent!!!!! Their guacamole was clearly freshly made and it was amazing!!!! If I went back for anything it’d be the spicy salsa and guacamole. I saw another customer order a shrimp taco or quesadilla and I wish I would have asked them what it was. After I read the reviews I saw tons of raves about the blackened shrimp. I should have tried that. I’d say next time but after a hefty 55$ bill, I think I’ll pass. The tacos were very minimal (taste/ingredient wise) and the food didn’t seem seasoned at all. Their “guacamole” was basically chunky avocados with some tomato and onion and the salsa kind of tasted like canned tomatoes :( Just not worth it at all to me. Love taco loco. Ive been going there for about 20 years. They are very vegetarian and vegan friendly. Patio seating only which can get noisy on the street, but you still get a peak-a-boo view of the ocean. You can have beer on the gated patios. I usually get the hemp burger or potatoe tacos. I believe the first time I went here was in 1997 back when I didnt even live in O.C. but was brought by a friend who lived in Laguna Niguel and it was the first place I thought to go eat when I moved to HB a few years later. Ive since lived in OC off and on for around 20 years total and in almost each different city in the county, and no matter which one I reside in, it is always the first place that comes to mind when I feel like having a taco. The mushroom & tofu taco has been my go to for almost 25 years and it is just as delicious every single time. Easily my favorite taco spot on the west coast. If Im anywhere between LA and SD, I always stop in this Laguna Beach favorite. Theyre an order at the counter type of spot with an extensive menu of tacos, burritos, nachos and more specializing in blackened seafood. My favorite is the shrimp or lobster, I love that theyre grilled and not fried like most places further south. The line can get long and hot but its worth the wait. They have a decent selection of beer in bottles. Parking is nearly impossible on weekends in the summer but theres some public lots nearby.

The blackened swordfish taco and quesadillas (best Ive ever had) were top notch. The carnitas and chicken taco were decent and the ceviche was fresh and delicious! Would go again.

A Laguna Beach taco stop. I love the selection of fish options and the guac salsa is very delicious. Worth a visit and likely to become a regular. :)

There was no place to eat ! It was so crowded & traffic was stopped & I was starving ! They had parking, so I stopped ! Im Vegetarian, so I got the quesadilla & it was hot, & sooooo delicious ! And I was again back in bumperTo bumper traffic on my way home !

Been coming here since the late 90s......great location, great food......Gonzalo, the owner, keeps it rolling proper all these years, with the same tasty guacamole that justifies the drive out to Laguna Beach......mushroom tofu burger highly recommended......

The guy behind the register was pretty cool and the food was great I has the shrimp burrito and my wife had the beef, chicken and carnita tacos they were good as well

Great for a quick bite, especially if youre vegan. food is pretty decent, lots of seafood options. Seating is on pch, very little shade so where a hat.

The location drew us in but unfortunately the food nor staff was on point..It took a long time for us to be addressed by a waitress,when she did show up she took our drink order and never came back we were passed off to a different waitress who was pleasant but still lacked in areas of customer service hah it took 15 mins to get lemons to the table to say least i think our service was better than others around us..overheard can we get different fries these are ice cold and seen a waitress apologize to a family waiting for there food order that was taking a long time and stated she would bring them bread but never did lol...overpriced food wasnt great..sorry not sorry

Been going to this place since I was a teenager. Love the blackened tofu burger and shrimp or swordfish tacos. Service has always been good.

The food was ok! Nothing special! Too pricey! The ceviche had too much ketchup and the meat fajitas were old! I’ve been in places where the food it’s better for less price!

This place sucks. my friend paid almost $5 for one small corn tortilla with melted cheese. they called that a quesadilla. ha! i had a similar tiny let-down. its the usual cali-mex food, but just smaller and more expensive, and with nowhere nice to sit.

I just stopped at this place by accident, man was it awesome, especially being a vegetarian, I had the potato taco and black bean soup and it was the best vegeterian taco I ever had, it has little bit of indian spices and the tortilla was so good too and I love the person at the counter, he is so helpful and awesome!

Got 2 burritos. $30 for 2 burritos that had hardly any flavor, were dry, and for some reason had peas in them. The workers were pretty cool though.

My friends and I stopped by this place yesterday, the customer service we received was not very good. There were two people working, a blond woman taking orders, and a woman with darker hair who was cooking. They both had bad attitudes. The food was also kind of soggy.
