First off, loved the ordering process with the stand up kiosks. It made it a delight to see all the dishes and choose what we wanted for our meal. We ordered the spicy eggplant and chili shrimp. Delicious. Lots of flavor, tasted super fresh and looked great. Actual service was ok, as we didn’t get much of a greeting or interaction with our server. We’ll be back for a quick, great meal!

The goods:- Wonderful staff that greets you every minute- Ordering kiosks have pictures for every dish, easy ordering- FastThe bads:- Food is underwhelming.- Beef salad is super overcooked with hot beef on top of raw veggies, and the veggies end up being half cooked. Its also very salty.- Pad See Ew is sweet, despite our request for it to have NO sugar.- Pineapple curry is extremely sweet! It is literally a dish of ingredients soaked in syrup.Not authentic Thai food, and tastes meh...

Thai Boat has some of the best service Ive ever seen, and some of the best Thai food Ive had! Paul, the owner, is always so friendly, happy and inviting and is a major part of why we love it here so much. The food is always top notch too, and Ive never had a dish I didnt love. Big portions too! I always walk away with leftovers. I cant say enough nice things about it here, we absolutely love it.

Order at the kiosk and wait for you food kind of place but the food quality is good and ingredients seem freash. We started with the Tom Gai soup and chicken skewers which were both tasty and use nice chicken. The yellow curry was good but a little lighter than other Thai places. The owner is Thai so it may be a regional thing. Still very good. The eggplant with vegetables was nice and light and tasty and soy based with umami of course. We took the food to go but just walked across the street so everything was still warm. The staff was nice and helpful. Food packed well.

This is our first time dining here today, February 11. We’re from Santa Maria and we’ve been looking for a new Thai food “home” since Sister kitchen closed in Grover Beach a while back.. I am happy to say that we have now found our new Thai food home! The food is fantastic. The service is friendly and quick. I love the atmosphere inside it’s warm and welcoming. You can order at the touch to order system or you can order at the cash register the gentleman who helped us. Not sure if he’s the owner. Just a lovely man made us feel welcome. Happy to be here. for me, the true test of good Thai food starts with the yellow curry, this one is perfection. I like their choice of music very relaxing. This is a great place and it seems to be popular!

OMG, not only is this the best Thai food I have ever eaten. (I have had Thai in every city I have visited in the US.) As if that was enough you can totally customize every dish as vegan, vegetarian or gluten free to my knowledge. The Pad Thai online ordering its very clear and obvious that you have those options; however for Panang Curry it did not give vegan as an option. I called they said of course they can make it vegan. I was delighted! Outstanding food! Compliments to the chef!!

Thai Boat is easily the best Thai food in SLO! They always get my order right and they are so fast! My last visit was on a busy Friday night. I ordered my food in-person because their mobile order system was down that night. I was still in and out with my order in hand in under 10 minutes! The (I think) owner even gave my a Thai iced tea on the house while I waited for my food.Also, as a vegan, I greatly appreciate the ease of ordering dishes “made vegan” no fish sauces, no egg, etc. The staff is so kind, you can tell they serve the community with love.

Super close to where we we’re staying in SLO. Unpretentious location but the food was delicious. It’s almost like a hole in the wall. We had a curry dish, pad see ew, and Tom yum soup. All delicious. A lot of food for two people. If you like spicy, then definitely order at least medium level because mild is not spicy at all. Staff was super friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Everything I tried (thai coffee, Thai tea, noodle soup, cashew chicken) was phenomenal. The interior is small with limited seating. They make up for it by making to go order pick up incredibly easy.

We have been loyal Thai Boat customers since they were originally in Morro Bay. I am sad that they have lost their more interactive family run atmosphere. I can appreciate the kiosk system, moving up in the world but we really liked their staff/family engagement. Sadly has lost its charm and authenticity for us. I dont know if we will be back. Food quality has lessened as well. 😢

Everything was so good! I got the eggplant stir fry with tofu and everything was cooked really well in a flavorful sauce. My friends got garlic noodles and bbq chicken thighs and also really enjoyed those. The staff were very kind and the space is nice and bright.

This place has down down the drain without a doubt. I was one of their oldest customers and I will never go back. The two kids who run the place are terrible from the way they barely even greet their customers to the way they just sit behind some wall and do nothing. I remember when Chet used to run the business in Morro Bay with Julie and they actually used to have good food.

The family that runs Thai Boat are such wonderful people. They were literally in my dream last night, and that’s what prompted me to write this review. I’ve gone here easily 100+ times and have always had a good experience. I love their curry, I love their noodles, anything they do is great. I havent been here over a year since the pandemic started and Im glad Ive returned. Delicious as usual from the last time I was here. I ordered fried rice with chicken, basil, green onions, white onions, bean sprouts, and basil. While this place serves decent Thai Food, some say its one of the best in SLO, the reason why I am giving it a poor review is their blatant disregard for the environment. All the food, and it does not matter if it is for eat in or dine out, is packaged in plastic containers and all that stuffed in a plastic bag with plastic utensils, which are wrapped in plastic baggies. Wake up people, there are sustainable options to take out food packaging and lots of other restaurants are doing it. The fact that you get a plastic bag even though you are eating in is ridiculous!

First off, this is the best Thai Food in SLO, in my opinion. Ive been eating here for five years and Ive never been disappointed with either the food or service. Its family owned and theyre all extremely friendly and hospital. They will go out of their way to make sure youre happy with the food and service.A few things worth noting though. They are only open Monday to Friday. They open from 11-2 for lunch, then close for lunch from 2-430. They stay open until 8. The restaurant often has unexpected closed days though. If youre planning on stopping by and you have to make a drive to do it, Id give them a call first to make sure theyre open.Other than that, you absolutely cannot go wrong with this place!

This is the best Thai food Ive ever had! And Im not that huge a fan of Thai food to begin with but this food was delicious!!I went in with my boyfriend for the first time right before they were closing. The line was very long (and I understand why- completely worth the wait) but the food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the Wontons which were very yummy and their pom-du (I think its the peanut one) which was magical! I wanted to get the Thai tea so I inquired about the caffeine level- I didnt want to stay up all night so I skipped on that.While seated the servers were very attentive and even brought me a sample of the Thai tea. They noticed we had finished our rice and even brought us an extra side of that too!Wonderful wait staff and fantastic food!

This place is beyond friend, and the food is good to boot. I recommend about anything on the menu, and they will tailor it to your liking. My friend like his spicy and they make him sweat. My favorites are bbq chicken, the pineapple fried rice with pork, and pad garlic. Make sure you call first if you are in a hurry, they can get very busy at lunch time.

Wow, what a great place. Lots of people were picking up orders they called in. We ate in and the service was quick anf the service was spectacular. When you enter they give you a menu to order at the front and they give you a # to place on your table, they have a pick up area to for call ins. They were really good about asking how hot you want your food. I am whimpy when it comes to spicy/hot, but my husband likes it he had Basil seafood asking for 3 out of 5 spicy and was very happy. I absolutely love their cucumber salad too. I will return here whenever I am in SLO. Prices were very reasonable and we left with 1/2 our meals, good portions.

Yeah its pretty good. I dont think it lives up to the hype though. Got some pad thai to go and the portion didnt even fill the box they served it in. The taste was alright as well, but you could tell that they were just rushing orders out one after another and I personally dont think the quality was very good at the time. The service at thai boat is incredible. The waiters are so friendly, they greet you with the biggest smile whenever you come in. I feel more at home in this dining establishment than any other joint. The food is also excellent. The spicy fish is so good that it is difficult to order anything else. The curry is not bad, but a little watery. Perhaps best of all: no corkage fee!!

These guys are amazing. Super friendly and the food is amazing. Thai noodle soup rocks! Ive had the spicy noodles and pad see ew (i think thats how its spelled) and i love it all. Sometimes they travel home to visit family and will be closed but they usually leave a notice. If you drive in the parking lot and see the big white ford passenger van you know they are there.

Take out line runs thru the middle of the tables which for me was really annoying.Food is overrated & is about average for the region, which is filled with other Thai places that have classier digs & longer hours. Popular with locals. Weird abbreviated hours at times & when the family goes on long vacations they shut the place.

THE best place for Thai lunch around and everyone knows it. Visit the menu online and call ahead or you will be waiting in line to order. Everything is amazing and authentic. They close at odd times and for about a month every year to go back home to Thailand, so call ahead to make sure they are open and you will never be disappointed.

My family is still reeling from their move from Morro Bay to SLO. We love the food and the service. It can get busy but the staff is fabulous. In fact, when we walk in the door they are already starting to take our order before we sit down they know so well what we usually order. The employees are basically your friends the first time you walk in and actually take the time to care about you and your food, which is also delicious and very well-priced. They also do a good job measuring the spice level for the caucasian palette of SLO. They will also make it spicy if you ask. Ive come in with a group of 7 people and while we were waiting they gave us all small thai iced teas! My favorite is the pineapple fried rice. Go to Thai Boat! Make sure you call before you go, they often travel. Also they arent open on the weekends, but they deserve those off.
