Thai Boat
3212 Broad St #140, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401, United States
This is the best Thai food Ive ever had! And Im not that huge a fan of Thai food to begin with but this food was delicious!!I went in with my boyfriend for the first time right before they were closing. The line was very long (and I understand why- completely worth the wait) but the food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the Wontons which were very yummy and their pom-du (I think its the peanut one) which was magical! I wanted to get the Thai tea so I inquired about the caffeine level- I didnt want to stay up all night so I skipped on that. While seated the servers were very attentive and even brought me a sample of the Thai tea. They noticed we had finished our rice and even brought us an extra side of that too!Wonderful wait staff and fantastic food!

Thai Palace
1015 Court St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401, United States
Ive walked hy this place many times and have always wanted to try it. My friend and I decided tongive it a chance and were pleasantly surprised. Its larger inside than you would expect. The feeling is warm and feels inviting. The service was fantastic. They continually checked on us...without constantly asking us or interupting our conversation either. They would just slowly walk by, look at our table to check and see that our beverages were full etc.I had the Scallops under the chefs favorites section. I must say, Inwas expecting maybe 4 moderate size scallops at the most. They scallops were HUGE and therebwas at least 8 of them. They were cooked perfectly, nice and tender and not rubbery and definitely not fishy tasting. The sauce they were in was moderately spicy but it was the perfect touch. It had basil and some veggies mixed in. Along with it comes your choice of white rice, brown rice, or steamed vegetables. My friend got the red curry with squash and said it was very tasty too. I cant comment much on that one sorry.Oh, i also got the Thai iced tea...it was good, not tooo sweet like some ive had but it was kind of strong. I couldnt finish it. We also shared an order of Thai spring rolls. They were very tasty, simple, and their dipping sauce was great. It comes with 6, but theyre more like the size of 1 regular spring roll cut in half. All in all..give it a try, you wont be disappointed!

Pizza Solo

SLO has some great small businesses, and Pizza Solo is a nice local stop if youre looking to share a pizza or (as the name suggests) have your own. Pizza Solo has more interesting combinations than your normal Dominos, but fresher than CPK (California Pizza Kitchen) with the added bonus of options for outdoor seating.A few favorites include the thai chicken pizza, which is not super authentic but has a touch of SouthEast Asian flavor, and their BBQ chicken. The BBQ Chicken salad is also solid if you are trying to avoid cards. The pizzas dont take too long to make and while not as fast as Blaze is much faster than CPK.If youre on a budget (i.e. in college) I would recommend Blaze, but for out of towners or those looking to chill and soak up SLOs sunshine, Pizza Solo is a nice stop in Downtown SLO.
