The food was very good. We ordered the Thai tea, pad Thai, and Tom yum soup. Just BE CAREFUL with the spice level as it can get really spicy even at level 2 spicey. We were not able to handle it, but our server was outstanding as she got us a new plate immediately without question and in a timely manner. Well, definitely come back again soon.

One of the very best Thai restaurants in OC. Im a fan of Chang beer and they have it here. Had the spicy rice which is excellent. Also would recommend Pad Thai. They serve Mango sticky rice when in season. Excellent use of spices. Good heat.

First time customer. Brought my wife and daughter. My daughter has been here before and recommended this place. We were going to Hofs Hut but came here instead. We were the only paying customers there at the time. But it was the best choice. My wife had the Mongolian beef, my daughter had the chicken curry, and I had the firemans curry with tofu and we all had mild #3 hot which was the perfect hotness that added flavor to our meals. Moo, our server was attentive and always making sure we have our drinks filled up all the time. Our meals were flavorful and delicious. We shared the sticky rice and mango after for dessert. We are definitely coming back again to try the other meals in their menu. We are even thinking of bringing our visiting friends from other states to eat here. We are very much sure we wont disappoint them. Highly recommendable!

A very nice hidden gem in Los Alamitos area. I have been here two times now, and the food was good on both instances. The restaurant is kept clean with very nice Thai decor. The service is friendly and fast. The have a good selection sake. I used to be a regular at nearby Coconut Rabbit Thai Restaurant, and I have to say Thailusion has better selection, taste and generous portions.

I got the crab ragoon **The tom yum vegetarian **And egg rolls ****Pad thai ***Fast service, very sweet food was ok but upset my stomach immediately so I dont feel like I gained any weight from the food lol (it went it right through me if ya didntcatch that) lol 😅 I dont have a sensitive stomach btw. Tom yum was good first couple bites then the tomato presences was a little too strong and it was a little too sweet.The crab ragoons werent my cup of tea, very strong sour cream flavor no crab not worth the price. Egg rolls were perfect just the dipping sauce didnt hit the spot. Didnt get to 5he pad Thai because my tummy started saying nope but it looked good. So I give 3 stars for takeout looked like a cool place would have given 4 but after spending 60$ I was hoping not to have slight food poisoning. But again its not too severe so Id probably try them again.After now ordering at 7 and its 111 so 4 hours of running to the bathroom I have to change the rating to a 2... yeah laugh it up ppl but seriously I was really excited about this place and now Im glad my dog doesnt judge my poor decisions. My wife and I have been coming here since when we were just dating and have Loved every single trip here we have made. The staff is super friendly and accommodating which is always a big deal for me. If you treat me like you dont want me in your restaurant I will leave, but the folks at Thailusion treat us so well we never want to leave.That, of course, brings us to the food which is excellent. My personal favorite is one of their house specials, the Firemans Curry also called the Jungle Curry. I have never had a curry quite like this, and I have eaten a lot of curry haha! A variety of perfectly cooked vegetables bathing in a delectable tub of green curry sauce paired with rich brown rice (white rice is available too, but the brown rice here is something special), and wait til you see how they serve the rice. My wife and I also enjoy many of their other dishes like fried rice and a wide variety of noodle plates. Its all good here!I cant recommend this place enough. Five stars all around.

The absolute best food and service here. My fiance and I have been coming here for a few years, and it is always delicious with the staff being very friendly and accommodating. We always feel welcome like friends here, and i highly recommend visiting, and when you do I recommend you try the Firemans Curry. Great Thai food! I especially like the egg roll appetizer. The sweet and sour sauce was perfect mouth watering goodness. The decor was interesting... Friendly and fast service. It is unfortunate that the restaurant is hidden from the main street. More people should know about Thailusion because it is a wonderful experience.

Outstanding food! The four of us tried a variety of things on the menu, the only meh was on the orange chicken. The curries were excellent as were the more traditional Thai dishes. The restaurant has also got very lovely decor, which was unexpected. The place is a bit hard to find though, you have to go all the way around the building. Highly recommended.

This place offers delicious food, but in small portions. We had extremely slow service even though the place was half empty. Every time we needed something we had to find our server. Each of our meals came out one at a time. This would have been okay if the portions were large enough to share. We all left there still hungry. We didnt want to order more food and end up being there for another hour.Its really too bad, because as I said in the beginning the food really was good. This was about our 6th time here and yes the service has always been slow, but this was the worst.

Firemans curry is phenomenal. The atmosphere is beautiful and serene. The staff is friendly and helpful. My husbands phone was almost dead and the owner brought him a phone charger. We mentioned it was my birthday and he brought us ice cream and fried banana. Im completely in love with this place. I wish I lived closer to come all the time.

Thailusion is a great place to eat Thai food. Every dish so far Ive had has been excellent, but I have been stuck on ordering the Firemans curry every time I come for lunch because it is so good! This is my favorite lunch spot in the area because the prices are reasonable, the service and atmosphere are nice, the food is delicious, and there are plenty of healthy options. If youre in the area Thailusion is a must-try, especially for lunch

Great place! The ambiance of the place was really nice. There is an seating area outdoors which is lovely in the evening. The seating area inside was very spacious and was set up to where it wasnt too crowded. The employees where dressed in traditional Thai clothing(atleast that is what it looked like to me).I had tried the duck curry and it was absolutely delicious. It had lychee fruit in it which paired really nicley with the coconut. It came with a serving of rice which was formed to be a heart. I thought that was a nice touch.

Wonderful, quiet and soothing ambiance. Excellent service. We each had a small bowl of Tom ka gai, a spicy coconut milk based soup with chi, mushrooms and lemon grass. This was accompanied by an appetizer of crispy deep-fried tofu with peanut sauce. For our main course we chose spicy eggplant with tofu, green curry with chicken, and a delicious dark brown rice. This was the most delightful green curry I have ever tasted. we boxed about a third of the meal to take home. Thailusion is one of the best Thai restaurants in southern California.

Awsome! I love curry and eat at many Thai and Indian restaurants but I have found my home. The food is fresh and delicious. I had the jungle curry. You can have it as HOT, as you want it. My buddy and I went here to try a new place and wanted some thai so chose this place in lieu of Coconut Rabbit in the area. We went there on our lunch hour so time was limited.For starters, our sweet and sour soup took 15 min to come out. Like really, how hard is it to take a ladle and pour in a small bowl. I guess there was a large group who phoned ahead and they got there by the time we got our soup. Thinking, ok, they are just adjusting. Nope, took another 15 min after the soup for my friend to get his thai fried rice. Yup, 30 minutes after ordering to get fried rice with chicken in it. So there we are, him with his food and me now waiting for my yellow chicken curry. I kept being told one more minute, three more minutes, one more minute. At this point, frustrated, I ask again and was told another minute. Another nearly 15 min later, my food comes out, and our lunch hour is almost over and my friends food is getting cold cause he was polite to not eat while I waited. When the food finally comes out, it is like really, this took this long. It was a small bowl of curry with steam rice. At this point, we had been there 40 min.As if it couldnt get any better, my friend went to pay the bill of $21.50 with his cash and my card. He gives her a $20 and tells her $12 cash and rest on card. She ridiculously charges $1.50 on my card and takes the cash. Now, I have to go get up myself and it takes another 10 min to sort out. On top if, I see a little gem while leaving the table to go to front..... my plate had a big chip in the corner. Awesome ending I suppose. The whole time the staff was not unapologetic other than the useless so sorry. We finally left the place and it is 1p and have to rush back.I dont care if this place might make food that gives you goose bumps or not, the experience was the worst ever I have experienced. Getting a fresh warm pizza from Little Caesars is a more satisfying experience than this place. The couple before us complained about their 25 min wait for their food and the poor lady next to use who got there about 12:15 and on lunch as well, was still waiting for her food when we left.

Oh boy. Just came by for lunch and had the Firemans curry. It is everything and more when it comes to a delicious, rich, sweet but spicy curry. This time I was able to meet the chef and owner Bryan who told us the story behind his invention. My wife had the pad thai and that too was delicious. Bryan and his wife showed us the award from 2003 for winning #1 pad thai receipe. Another great experience and will be returning soon, hopefully next week!Copied from my Yelp review...lazy to type05/12/2015- Update. Back again and tried the yellow curry with shrimp, tom kha gai soup, and thai sweet rice....wow! Most esquisite taste. My wife has vowed to come back at least once a week. Beautiful setting. When we ordered take-out, the items were not as described or ordered. When we ate at the restaurant, we got what we ordered -- but not much of it. Lunch portions are very small and dont seem to represent a good value. Service was slow and not very friendly.

The location is deceptive because its, literally, in the middle of a mini mall, and the restaurant cannot be seen from the street, but everything Ive tasted is excellent. The inside dining area is great for a date, and theres a cozy outside eating area as well.
