Amazing place for Malaysian food!!! The menu is HUGE and there are options here that I havent seen elsewhere in the Bay. Loved the miri beef and seafood taro nest. No wait for a table during our lunch on Tuesday.Warning that some of the dishes are spicy but theres no spicy label on the menu, so youll need to ask if you cant handle heat.

Since it started serving Halal meat, we have come here twice, once with our family and once bringing our guests visiting us. We have been blown away by the amazing service both the times by Anthony.The food quality has also been amazing.Keep up the great work!

Roti Pratha is always a must order when you visit this restaurant. It was good except it should be on the softer side rather than too crispy. We also ordered Penang Sizzling Chicken, Miri Prawns, Malay Mee Goreng, Hijau Basil Fried Rice. Miri Prawns and Basil Fried Rice were good. We were disappointed with Penang Sizzling Chicken and Malay Mee Goreng, they were not close to how they have to be. Very saucy, ketchup kind off. Huge let down on some famous Malay dishes. Even the service was bad. Server was always on his phone. We ask for something, he gets and then back to his phone. We had to ask multiple times to get the entree plates. All this when the restaurant is almost empty. Not sure if we will be back to this restaurant after such an experience.

I have only good things to write about this place. Everything was on point- the food, service, cleanliness, ambience.Vegetarian/vegan options are plenty. The chef suggested the popular vegan Malay dishes and they tasted amazing! We’re glad to have chosen this place to try Malaysian cuisine for the first time!

I LOVE banana garden. My fav dish is their spicy noodles Mee Gorang, I used to have a hard time finishing it and it was def spicier.. this time it was not spicy at all and we got so little of it we had nothing to bring home! All of our dishes tonight were decently made… just SO little food! We got one tiny piece of roti pum for our appetizer and a tiny cup of curry. Like the size of a to go plastic dipping sauce cup. We ordered a large size of noodles and it was standard size at best. Also, not as spicy as they used to make it.Really disappointed in the quantity. Not worth 70+ bucks, esp since I used to have a hard time finishing my dishes in the past. Not sure if there’s new management or what but I hope they fix this. I never write reviews but I can’t get it off my mind how bummed I am!

The place is spacious enough with ample seating options. Food and service was good. They had a lot of options for food.They had very limited drink options when we came. It was a Thursday night and they had only 1-2 selection of cocktails available from their menu. They also didn’t have wine options that were available on the menu.Their roti prata was the best. Rest of the food was about average. We ordered the pineapple rice, sizzlers, vegetarian noodles, Malay spicy shrimp - liked the shrimp one the most among others.I’d rate it a 3.5 if that option was available.

I would say 3.5-4. The pratha and curry sauce was really good.. same with the spicy basil fried rice and crispy spring rolls. Really enjoyed having them.. The 2 sides for the rice were rather dissapointing- too bland and not spicy(though was claimed to be one of the spicy dishes by their waiter).. also, it is pricey and portion sizes are okay. All in all a good place to dine on a Friday!

I have had Malaysian food before, not the greatest but meets expectations. We were there on Fri night for girls dinner out, there was birthday party inside the restaurant that was too loud. Even though the party hall door was closed it was too loud. The person who served us super rude. Never came to our table and we ordered another dish with the server who came to our table. He came back and told not to order with anyone and he is our server and only he could get the order, of course not politely.Although food is good, Im not going back for the attitude and rudeness. He definitely spoiled our mood, along with the loud party noise.

I am visiting here in Dublin and my sister always so glad to introduce wholesome restaurant around the area. I told her I wanted to try the famous Hainan chicken rice before our forthcoming trip in Singapore in December. She said I’ll take you in Banana Garden, they might have a Hainan Chicken rice in their menu. She’s right,, they have a variety of delicious Singaporean & Malaysian choices. One that stands of all is the Roti Prata...Hmmm so good 😊 Staffs are awesome too. Follow up...we came back for second time, we got totally opposite experienced... the group of staffs this time were pretty arrogant.

Went there on a Friday for lunch. The place was not too crowded. They have an open kitchen so you know your food is made fresh. Their Roti paratha and Roti telur are a must try appetizers. The pineapple rice came in a pineapple placed on a boat. The taste matched the expectation from the presentation. The Miri chicken was cooked well with black pepper. Ordered coconut rice on the side. Could not taste the coconut flavor though.

Horrible experience, totally mismanaged, have a host to write your name but people come.and go per their wish, no one to.manage.Food, we ordered Pad Thai and curry, they served the pad Thai in 2 mins half raw, as if they just want to close out. Pad Thai tasted far from any Thai places I have been to, curry was below average full.of okras.Cost- high for the quality of food offered, better off go to Thai place and dont tey an Indian owned place that tries to copy catDuring entire duration no server came to ask for even water. The check was promptly presented.Definitely a Never Visit again

I tried Malaysian Cuisine for the first time here. The service was first class. Their Roti Prata and Roti Murtabak with curry sauce are to die for. Try the Chicken Satay with chili sauce. The sauce in their Sibu Sizzling Chicken is one of the richest I’ve tasted and paired with Malay Mee Goreng noodles, it is simply divine. Malay Hokkein Char Mee is their best noddle dish. The only disappointing item was Fried Mango Ice Cream. Don’t forget to try the Fried Banana for desert. It is very hot on the inside. So, have a care for your tongue.

We were there for dinner... The food there was amazing Malaysian cuisine.. We ordered Malay tea and lychee ice tea, which we like lychee ice tea the most👌.. Appetizer that we tried were Roti pratha, which was crispy, sweet and tasty with side curry, and then Chicken and Beef satay, in which we like beef the most😋..felt like chicken was bit undercooked.. The main course were Pineapple fried rice which was served in half pineapple shell,☺️ that was nice and tasty, and Udang Mee, which is a kind of seafood noodle soup, was just fine... We ordered a to go order from doordash. First of all the order got delivered after 70 minutes.After waiting for so long, and chosing veggie only option from their Menu, all we got a noodles with shrimp in it. Pineapple fried rice which i think was the leftover or stale which clearly the rice not cooked well.When call back all they cared about was just telling to comeback and get refund of the shrimp noodles. Not at all caring about customer need nd not sensitive to their food choices at all.

Taste is not consistently good. I believe it wasnt cooked by the main chef while the assistant sometimes over pours the pre-mixed sauce, for example the Hokkie Fried Noodles; from the third visit onwards, I have been reminding the waiter / waitress to inform the chef to make it less salty.

We had Wah Dan Ho and Hainan Chicken rice. The chicken was very bony, rice was yellow but a little fragrant. As an Asian who had many meals in Malaysia and Singapore, we know that the chilli sauce plays an important role, but here it was very disappointing and was the worst part of the meal. The Wah Dan Ho noodles were all stuck together when fried so it wasnt good but the sauce was good and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The green chilli served was sweet, not spicy which was again disappointing! Taste wise the meal was OK. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place for these two dishes. Try something else.

I hosted my daughters birthday party last week in banana Garden and I should say the food and service are beyond our expectations. They have private spacious party hall. Price is so reasonable and they served a large quantity of delicious foods. Service was awesome. I had around 50 guests and each one enjoyed the party and food. I got lots of appreciation from our guests and the credit goes to Banana Garden for letting us hosting the party and serving us delicious foods and making my daughters day special. I will for sure come back to Banana Garden for all my future parties!

Update: 7/2023 - Theres been a change in management and the food, sadly, is very disappointing. Something as simple as the coconut rice (on the nami lesak) and the char kwai teow were huge let downs. The rice was really hard, either leftover rice or uncooked rice. The char kwai teow was burnt with no taste. Friendly attentive service and ambiance are still good, just not the food.-----Old review:From a dining experience, compared to other Malaysian/Thai restaurants in the Pleasanton and Dublin area, I like coming here with the family. Ambiance is nice and welcoming. Customer service is good. The food quality is better than most in the area. The food has a light cooking feel, not too oily and greasy.

Food is very basic in terms of flavor and the currys were definitely a let down. Few appetizers were over seasoned with salt but better than the entrees. Strangely enough they allow people from outside to solicit for donations in the restaurant while everyone is dining inside.---------As requested by the restaurant representative* This was during lunch. The solicitation was being carried out by probably a high school girl who was selling us her art work at our table. All the restaurant associates were around us yet no one seemed to mind it. One of my colleagues even donated some money to her to get over with it. The floor is pretty open and someone should have noticed her from the restaurant as she walked from one end of our table to the other.* What I ate : chilly baby corn(salty), cauliflower manchurian (ok), roti parata (great), veg soup (salty), prawn red curry (bland), chicken green curry (bland)* Rest on the table tried a few other dishes but none spoke much about their dishes which says how unremarkable the food was.

This is one of the restaurant knows and cares customers very well.Their dishes are very tasty and presented well. Their staffs are very attentive and friendly. I always order Roti Paratha and Nasi Lemak. Roti is cooked very well (non-oily). when I asked for a bit more curry sauce and they gladly provide an additional curry sauce without charge. My friends are vegetarians and they love vegetarians dishes in this restaurant.One thing you need to aware is this is not a cheap Malaysian restaurant. Slightly expensive than $$ (from Yelps standard). I went to this place with my toddler for dinner. The waiter seated us on a table and there was direct sun falling on us. So I requested to change the table. The restaurant was relatively empty with just one more table occupied. He was reluctant and told me this is the only table where high chair can be put. He was so disinterested in taking the order too. I was mentioning to him out dietery restrictions and he just didnt pay attention.We ordered Roti paratha and noodles. The food came in just as soon as I ordered. I was like how can the food be ready instantaneously? The roti paratha was the worse food I have ever had. It was so dry, flavorless and felt like just some old food which was heated and given. Noodles too was terrible. Just couldnt put in in our mouth. I felt so bad to have taken my daughter to this place.Also, the most important thing- the tables were so dusty. The utensils didnt look clean. Overall very terrible experience. Please dont go to this place or order food from here.

This place is amazing! Me and my hubby stop by for the first time. Really good atmosphere, our waiter was so polite and attentive.They came to our table to ask if we were ok every 15 min. Now for the best part...the food was AMAZING, so delicious and flavorful.We will be coming back again for sure!!This is an update 02/15/19We went back again but our experience was disappointing this time.The drinks were terrible we had to send them back and order beers. I ordered beef Sambal. Has the nice, distinctive taste of fermented shrimp paste, but didn’t overpower the rest of the sauce. Chili spice level is ideal for me on the medium to high level as I expect from a Sambal sauce. Vegetables are very crunchy. Rice could be better, but that’s the only slightly negative comment. Great selection on the menu and service is friendly.

The food is excellent, and our server today was top notch. Ive been here twice before and had ok service. Today was excellent! I recomend the vegetarian roti with curry dipping sauce as an appetizer, its sweet, spicy (very mild, not hot) and delicious! I think everything on the menu Ive tried is great. The lunch menu is the way to go to get the best deal in midday. My parents and I had 2 rotis ($4 each) and my mother had a $8 glass of wine, and our meal was still only $58. I would say this is probably my favorite Tri Valley restaurant for the price.

This place is a very satisfying, tasty meal. I make it a point to stop by here whenever Im in the area. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the flavors are great. What more could you want? The best course of action here is to get an entree per person and share, especially because the portions are pretty big. There is usually plenty of seating and its a nice open, airy environment. Its great both for big groups as well as smaller meals with 2-4 people.I typically start off with the Roti Pratha which comes with a delicious curry dipping sauce. For main courses, I had some delicious chicken and a delicious rice, basil, seafood, and chicken dish I cant remember the name of. The flavors were all delicious and fresh-tasting! To cap it off, we had a banana dessert with mango ice cream. The banana had a coconut and caramel drizzle which was awesome. All in all, by the end of the night, we were very full and satisfied with the meal. I would come here again and again!

What really put me off was that when I went to the restroom, one of the kitchen staff came in, used the bathroom, didnt wash his hands even with water, forget soap and then I see him walk straight back to the kitchen handling stuff. I couldnt take it, so reported to the manager. The manager told a guy who looked like the supervisor who then just didnt do anything, no talk with the staff, nothing, made me feel really bad about how this place is run. I had a very bad experience with this restaurent. Firstly there was no proper hospitality in the entrance, we have to wait a long for the seat until someone came out. Secondly they didnt have napkins, spoons, plates for the serving.We have to correct each order and ask for every item. Our main order did never came for long time after continuous remainder. Dont go there. I ordered to-go items and two items were placed wrong. I ordered the Veg noodles but they gave me shrimp and chicken noodles and the green beans mentioned it had tofu in the description but when we got the box, there was no tofu. I called the restaurant immediately, I told them about this and the owner asked me to come again to the restaurant and change it. I told them I will take me 30 mins to drive and come back now, so just give me refund for the noodles since we are vegetarian and we had to throw the noodles away. The Banana Garden was not a great restaurant. To start off, the waiter was confused with the order and clarified the order and he was right though when the order came to the table, 40% was incorrect. Which brings me to my second point being that they had got our table 1 of the Roti when we asked for 2, and 1 extra Pad Thai. With that Pad Thai, we had asked for one without peanuts and one normal one. This bringing me to my third point being that they had screwed up the Pad Thai without peanuts because when we received one, it had no vegetables and garnishing compared to the normal dish when we had requested for just no peanuts due to allergies. This random dish had shrimp which is another ingredient the receiver is allergic to and that the Pad Thai was vegetarian. My fourth and final point is that 2 waiters kept going around holding meals and asking if we had ordered them, they got them right, but the issue is that they should know the table that the food is going to. The Banana Garden overall is not I would ever go to again.

The reason I gave one star to this restaurant is because they are the most confused people ever . For example, when we ordered they got confused with the orders and kept on switching them .
