Started coming to this location in 2013 and have watched it evolve and try to find its groove after a long period of stability in the mid-late 2010’s. The food itself is good. Meat cuts are decent. No more salad bar or anything that’s self serve. We enjoyed the spicy BBQ Pork Kalbi, Beef Kalbi, Chicken thighs. We also ordered the fried rice, dumplings and corn cheese. Food was delicious!! Hard to find good hot sauce on the table anymore. Our table/grill had a bit of uneven flame with one area much hotter than the other so had to adapt a bit during cooking. I would have given this place five stars a few years ago. Today we were helped by extremely busy staff who were happy to provide more food and drink when requested but no one helped to remove any plates or bottles which caused a cluttered table. I enjoy a tidy table and if the wait staff is waiting for the busboy to clear the table than that’s an indication of the back house culture. This is a great local spot that is on the verge of greatness again. Staff are trying their best despite their inexperience and orders comeout promptly and everyone is very kind. Looking forward to our next visit. It seems to change very time we go!

I actually went to TJ Korean BBQ by accident but Im so happy. I am hard to please when it comes to Kimchi Chigae (soup). The soup was so good that I almost posted about it in Facebook. I just may post about the restaurant on Facebook too!I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. I got my food to go because I didnt feel good. They packed 4 banchons (side dishes) too. I got fish cake, potatoe salad, kimchi, & cucumber kimchi.The staff was so helpful. I didnt want any extra mushrooms (they freak me out), pork or tofu. The portions of the food was a generous amount. 3.5 stars really but Im rounding up. I read the reviews of this place beforehand and went in with moderate to low expectations. Honestly, the service was great. Everyone was polite and attentive. They do have a limit of 1 order per customer on the majority of items and you only get 3 rounds of meats (4 items per round) but they give you a good size portion of each so I didnt really mind.Most of the meat was pretty good. Id recommend the ribeye bulgogi and the kalbi. I have to say my biggest disappointment was the sides. Chicken fried rice and japchae had no flavor, but I recognize it may just be a cultural difference. But things like fried shrimp, dumplings, and fried calamari were definitely frozen. If you go stick to the meat.

We got to celebrate the fathers party with my sister and his fslimia, they arrived first and asked for their food and they wanted to force us to ask for the mid-menu if we were at the same table. It was no use traveling for two hours to eat here if we received such bad service and without eating

We went for lunch on a Sunday. Pricey, Messy, and Bland. Wait staff not very attentive. I technically wouldnt call it BBQ. The grill we had was like a frying pan over a stove. Made our meal kinda soggy. The meat wasnt seasoned. We asked for sauces that never arrived at our table until we were done eating. See pictures. We sat next to a window..... next to a homeless guy sitting in the patio area. Kinda uncomfortable with him watching us. Took about 8 minutes for a staff member to make him move on. Even though I usually give a place 2 chances before I post a review, Im not coming back.

We were looking for a new place to go rather than the typical Gen Korean for KBBQ and we stumbled across TJs.I am very happy that we found this place. Its a little more pricey than Gen Korean but they make up for that in bigger portion sizes as well as more seasonings and marinades than Gen Korean.Do not be off put by seeing the Limit:1 Order per person for certain items because this 1 order is 1 or 2 pounds of meat per order. And yes I do mean pounds. The picture attached below is 5 pounds(5 orders/1 order per person) of the kalbi bone in, menu item 5. It took the 5 of us at our table 30 min to finish that. The portions here for meat are quite big.I also suggest trying the different seasonings like Cajun, lemon pepper, for the brisket. Brisket is my go to meat for KBBQ and having different seasonings for that is awesome.For Menu A, Each of us getting a drink, and 18% tip, it came out to $50 per person...ouch, but we left feeling satisfied and not regretful even with the price point.Dont forget about the buzzer on each table for calling a waiter for help!They also have a rewards program which Ill definitely take advantage of. I will be coming again.

Ive been eating here for 4 years had good quality meat and now I have to say the bulgogi was the worst meat was chewy my son almost choked, and to top it off an Asian lady server charged two of my children as an adult thinking we would not see it, instead of apologizing she charges in error she used my 10 year old as her excuse and said she will adjust it but only for my 8 year old, she said she will have to charge my 10 year old as an adult. For me shes shady and this is our last and final were ever going to eat here. I hope the owner sees this cause thats bad practice and terrible customer service.

One time my daughter and I went to eat at your restaurant. The waiter was taking our order. I picked something from the A section of the menu. When I picked what I wanted to order. He told me what I ordered cost more than $40. I told him so, thats what I want. Your waiter must of thought I couldnt afford anything from the A menu. Thats how I saw it and I was really upset with what he said.

Had my son’s 100th day party with about 30 guests in the private party room. Everything worked out really well. The food and service was great. The manager was so kind and accommodating. We really enjoyed it!

The blandest Korean bbq spot I have ever been to. We ordered different chicken and steaks and they tasted the same. The burner was uneven and hotter on one side. The meat was chewy with no seasoning/marinade whatsoever and there was no seasonings or sauces offered, the sides were subpar - the potato salad was grainy, the calamari was cold, hard, and very chewy, the chicken fried rice had no flavor, and there was only one overworked waitress manning the floor and phones. We didn’t get all the sides we requested and tbh the food was so mediocre, we didn’t bother asking. Only thing remotely tasty were the fried dumplings but they were cold and the jalapeños were pickled with good seasoning. Overall, Would not recommend.

Been coming here for years. Has been through many owners, but the current ones have made the menu very delicious. My only gripe is that the restroom (Mens) needs to be COMPLETELY gutted and remodeled. It has a strong odor and overall doesnt feel clean. Ultimately I come for the food and the food is on point!

I reserved in advance for a party of 8 back in December 2021 for my wifes birthday dinner with friends. I was hoping for outdoor dining, but they had taken down their setup awhile ago. It was a Sunday night so I figured it wouldnt be as busy anyway. When we arrived, I was surprised to find out they opened up their back section for us and seated us along the back wall--plenty far away from everyone else. Our server Jacob? took our drink orders right away. Once we ordered our food, everything came out regularly and everyone was enjoying it all. I had asked if I could bring in a birthday cake to serve which they did PLUS several of the staff came over with musical instruments and party favors to sing Happy Birthday to my wife! We all had a great time. Big thanks to Jacob and the staff for their attentive and friendly service! My wife and I had been here several times before for dinner and have always been satisfied. Well definitely be back.

We have a party of 18 and seated us once the whole party was all there. The atmosphere was ok. There wasnt anything special about their food very little banchan was served. Meat wasnt that good. The service is sub-par we have to keep asking for things like they forgot the sauces and we were about done and have to asked about the miso soup we ordered and the grill was burning and had to ask for replacement. I dont think Ill come back here again cause there are so many better Korean restaurants better than this one.

Came back after a year & found out its under new management. It is soooo much better now. The food is delicious and it might even beat my favorite spot in LA. The service was great too, as the servers were always helping out. The price is good and the food is phenomenal. Lastly, the salad bar that they have is so cool and good. I was craving kbbq but didnt want to drive far to get it so I decided to come to this place cause I saw that it had a 4.2 stars on Google reviews and thought it was be an alright spot to stop by. What I didnt realize is that they recently had a change in management and recently all the reviews have been very bad but they are covered up by all the previous reviews. This place is not great. They are very over priced in correlation to their quality of meat. Their menu system is very difficult to understand to the point where even the waiters seem to struggle with its selection concept. The place smells very bad and does not seem clean and the place seemed very under staffed where it would take 10-15 minutes until we could get a waiter to take our next order. Honestly even for the valley, this korean bbq place is not worth it. Save your korean bbq trip for next time you are able to go up to ktown. There are way better places there

Youll definitely get treated differently if youre not Korean, or dont have a Korean in your party. Also youll need to get up and serve yourself all of your own sides. No high chairs; not really kid friendly. I cannot recommend it nor would I give return business. Had a drink offered by wait staff due to having to wait so long for our food, and the manager added it to the bill at the end of the night. Very disappointing.

I was hoping that this restaurant wouldve been good due to the reviews, but when I went there recently, it wasnt so great. Please note: I am comparing this experience to another Korean BBQ named Pine Tree.There wasnt really a lot of sides provided. In Pine Tree, there was fish cakes, soybean sprouts, spinach, rice and spicy radish salad. That wasnt given here. We had to order rice separately and we didnt get most of our orders. After waiting for 15 minutes for our soup, I had to call up the waiter. It was dining outside and it was dark when i got there (7 pm). However, the lighting in the tent was very dim and they gave us very little food. I am very disappointed and I will not be coming again.

This place is just a worse version of Gyu Kaku. If you like the idea of grilling food at the table with family and friends I would highly recommend going to Gyu Kaku instead. The service here was bad and and the food tasted like it was grilled on top of someone’s foot. The meat had an unholy amount of grease in it and it was not prepared for the grill like Gyu Kaku’s meat. The food was not worth the money. When you go here the only thing your money is going towards is the grill gimmick. The establishment seemed out dated and it had many rules which I have never seen at any other place. They force an 18% tip for a party of 6, and for any food you don’t finish they make you pay extra. Not only that, but they don’t allow you to take left over food home. The entire point of these rules are to prevent food waste so tell me why they won’t even let you bring food home to at least finish some of it. I know that what they are trying to do is worth while, but this is not the way to do it. The rules were even so poorly written that they repeated two rules multiple times. Just go Gyu Kaku.

Just had the worst experience at this place, management understaffed the place putting so much pressure on the waiter! Paid 120$ for 1 round of food and alcohol that never made it to the table.. We were seated by the front door just to be ignored for 20 min and no meat with our grill off? The worst part is the owners just rushed and filled more table making it worst on our waiter. Cooking your own food on a tabled grill is fun and interactive. Its all you can eat with a bufet of salad a d different sauces. The menu has several levels of meet choices. The most expensive is the $29.99. I had the $15.99. This meal you are allowed to choosec3 meats to cook at your table-unlimited. The reason I gave it a 3 is because your not allowed to carry any food out and, if you dont eat the meat you cooked, you will be charged an additional $11.99. I was not charged it, but I wanted to take the cooked chicken home. Instead I ate til my belly was full.

I was in the area on business, traveling alone, and wanted Korean BBQ. TJs looked like a good spot to try.Unfortunately, they refused to seat me as I was a party of one.Ive never had a restaurant flat out refuse to seat a solo diner. Great new AYCE KBBQ but the loud music and blinky lights made it difficult to enjoy. They really need to decide if they want to serve good food or make their customers deaf and hoarse. We got the A-menu which was excellent and we particularly liked the soon-dubu. I’d definitely go back if they can tone the music way, way down so we can enjoy a pleasant conversation whilst chowing down on some excellent KBBQ.

The staff were very unfriendly. Especially the owner and everything is self-service and he doesnt explain how the system works and just tells you to order. The quality of most of the meat is bad, but the pork belly is okay. You have to order according to the number of people, and they keep pressuring you to order more. The last cold noodle dessert was edible.
