Food is good, not great, but the atmosphere is really bad because of the horrible choice of music. Obviously they are playing it for themselves and not for the customers because no one would choose music like that for customers. It seems like the same bad song over and over, pounding drums and somebody yelling (not singing) off key. I just wanted to finish my food quickly and get out of there.Service was OK but they cant seem to bother to utter a single smile, and they made me feel like I was bothering them. The worst part was that they didnt know their own exterior sineage and they ended up charging me for something that was supposed to be free with an order of a bowl. I asked for the healthy option on the go that was painted outside on the glass by the front door, and they had no clue what I meant. Then I pointed out that per Google search result which I showed them, with the bowl I was supposed to get 5 free dumplings but I didnt, and they ended up charging me a small fee for them because they didnt know how the coupon worked. The place was pretty clean though the missing ceiling tile and some stained ceiling tiles didnt really look good.Too many things adding up to a bad enough experience that I wont be back there anymore. No wonder the place was pretty much empty.

They forgot to put my avocado on my order and when I called about it she said she would accommodate me by giving me free avocado the next time I come in. I had to explain that it wouldnt be free because I paid for it but didnt receive it. After going around in circles trying to tell her that would only be giving me what I paid for she said she would get a manager on the phone and placed me on hold and never came back to the phone.

TJ Korean BBQ

Theres something about using English on a menu that makes me initially feel like the restaurant isnt authentic and I will admit that when they advertise having confit, ribeye, NY steak, etc. I question the quality of it all. Still, I went with friends because the pricing was way better with the meat assortment than others in the area and I will say it did not disappoint! On a Thursday evening at 6pm, the restaurant only had 2 parties before us and I was pleasantly surprised at not having to wait.We ordered menu B for $34.99 as of writing this review and boy did we get full really quickly! We ordered the ribeye to start and if you read the fine print you can only order 1 steak per 2 people. You can order 4 meats at a time so we got kalbi, bulgogi, and brisket as well. The bulgogi was very lightly marinated but still packed a ton of flavor and of course the brisket and kalbi were delicious.I was surprised that the ribeye and New York steaks came out cooked at medium rare temperature, but I like that it saved us so much time from having to cook it ourselves as it is a 90 minute time limit.I dont like wasting food so I appreciated that the banchan was brought out upon request. The japchae, fish cakes, cucumber, and steamed egg were great. For drinks, we ordered yogurt soju and kloud beer. Everything was priced as youd expect in a restaurant, which is of course at a higher mark up. I do hope in the future they can consider adding Beatboxes because theyre inexpensive and fun to drink. The service was great. I was so full that I never really needed to call on the server for anything. One thing I wish they would do was play Korean music. It just adds a bit more authenticity to it than playing top 40 pop music. Other than that, though, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and look forward to returning for menu A in the future.(1/50--2024)

What makes it disgusting is their service their attitude. The waiting is just RIDICULES with NO clients they just ignore you! t japanese lady will b upset & yield; Next time order over the phone! Now u wait!. (And turned t back on me) 1st time I didnt compline, but it happen again. It is a restaurant to dine in NOT only a take out, but she gets upset if u didnt order by t phone anyways even to eat there!, So next time I order by t phone and went to pick it up after 45 mins even thought she say 30, you guys wont believe this; she said: you must have yo wait I told u 30 mins and you came in 40 so I gave your food to other client. As it was really late I was more then hungry and I had yo get back to work I waited, 40 more min and she was not upset but angry saying; you only have 2 orders and we have clients coming with larger orders mire convinence do next time order 3 orders or we give priority to people who have more. My 2 of my coworkers here on Galping Ford (next to this Korean BBQ place) compline too one said the guy in t kitchen went to t bathroom door open and just got back coking not washing his hands or flushing toilet he said he just left hes order. The girl at the front desk made a comment about experiencing dome like it happen to me with japanese lady. Besides its not that clean in a simple look u can see that, believe me, when theres no much options to eat next to your work u tried to see the bright side of whatever place u can get some food, but this one hell no! Its got nothing good really. I would never ever ever recommend it unless u want to experience been treated as $h1t ?

Golden Bowl Teriyaki
13718 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, CA 91405, United States
Im not in this part of town often. I normally stay in SGV. So I was about to just pull through Subway or McD in the same plaza when I yelped this place. Sooo many reviews saying its the best teriyaki theyve ever had. Lots of elite reviewers saying that. I was like cmon, if youre gonna say that I HAVE to try it. I got a #5. Chicken Teri and shrimp. Comes with a small salad, 1000 dressing. It comes a little dry. Extra sauce is a MUST. I drowned that shih. And know what? Its pretty good. I wouldnt say best ever, but it does blow chains like Waba and Flame Broiler out the water. Cant compare to Yoshinoya, totally different beast. But chicken is a little more chopped up, so the sauce can penetrate, rice was cooked well, the small salad with half slice tomato and slice of cucumber was good. I dig this place. We dont have anything in SGV like this. Closest is B-Mans, and BMans not as good as this place. Totally recommend this spot. But get EXTRA SAUCE. Skip the avocado too. I got that because everyone on yelp gets it, but I dont think it adds anything to the flavor. Oh yeah, they have Horchata, tamarindo, Jamaica drinks here too.

This place is an absolute gem! After trying quite a few Thai food restaurants in the valley, this is by far the best! It’s run by a family and it’s an easy tell how much they love/care about what they do! They offer an extensive menu including not only a wide variety of Thai food, but also some other Asian fusion. This place is also clean and cozy, it feels so warm with their heartfelt service! Will keep coming back to try out all the different items on the menu! Parking is limited in this plaza, but it’s never an issue on weekdays. ? recommended if love Thai food!

I used to go here A LOT when i am still working in an HVAC warehouse nearby.. I found this gem along sherman way and brought my co-workers to try this during lunch time and they liked it of course.. at that time for the price of a chicken bowl is really a bang for the buck and we would have food coma after eating the whole thing.. Since then i had to quit that job because of an accident and never been here for a while. Few months passed i went back again because i missed that char flavor and to my surprise they increased their prices wayyyy to steep and no changes in the amount of serving though they are already generous enough it doesnt justify a very steep price increase. Although their staff already know me enough and very nice to me specially the lady that works there (i forgot her name) who saved me from a long line when i come in for an online pick up order, i think i would take a break from going back.. their food is very good but for the price now its too much and there are more options out there.

So stumbled on this place for a random midweek dinner. My friend and I chose to sit outside. The service was fantastic!!!! Even though we sat outside the staff checked on us constantly, in a good way. The food... well... FANTASTIC!! It was so delicious ? and the sides were on point. I will definitely be back here. Yes, it is next to an all you can kbbq, but the quality difference was obvious. If you are looking to eat kbbq I highly recommend this little local spot. ?

Sadly i did not take a picture. It didnt occur to me until the end to take a picture and i apologize. The establishment definitely gives off a family friendly vibe. The staff was very friendly and checked in consistently to make sure everything was okay, but they were not good at keeping up with drinks. I had ordered a diet pepsi and my brother had ordered water for everyone but when he opened his mouth to order a separate drink for himself the waitor had turned and walked away. Later when he returned with the drinks, both my brothers placed their drink order as well as my nephew. They returned with one drink and asked what the other two drinks were again. No problem i didnt mind this at all, i forget things all the time so no issues there. What did bother me was they did not return with the drinks until a couple minutes before the food came out. It should not take that long to get cranberry juice and a child sized orange juice. Later when i asked for a refill on my diet pepsi (or diet coke? I keep confusing those two) it never came. Our waitress showed up 3 times and never came with the refill, at that point i just gave up on the drink and was grateful for the waters my brother had ordered earlier. Besides all that i was still giving this place the benefit of the doubt...until i received my food. I had ordered the chili cheese burger and i can say it was a huge mistake. It did not say on the menu that it was going to be served in a bowl of chili, the bottom bread was drowned in chili making it soggy mush. The chili itself tasted like canned chili and had cold patches. (Maybe the chili was microwaved, thus causing the random cold patches?) The burger patty was sitting right on top of this bowl of chili, however even the patty couldnt save the burger, it was burnt and had little to no flavor. The top bun (it was just a slice of bread not a bun) was toasted and cut in half defeating its purpose of acting as a top bun. The fries and onion rings it came with were its only redeeming quality. I would still go back to try other items on the menu but this being the only item Ive had thus far, it only gets 3 stars. The friendly staff, family friendly atmosphere, and fries/onion rings are what earned it 3 stars. That and my brothers french toast and pancakes were actually very tasty.
