Came here with my boyfriend who found the place. The food was soo good and the portions are so generous. I’m so happy to have a place to eat Korean food in Bakersfield now. The day we went our server was Karen and she was super nice to us. She made our first time very comfortable and we’ve gone 2 other times now because we like the place so much. The only negative thing we’ve had so far is another server though who has purple hair who was talking to this other table while when we were waiting to be seated. We stood there as she chatted and it felt kind of awkward until another server came to seat us. Other than that the place is great.

Spicy bibimbap very good. Rice was crispy. I did not take photos of the meals but everyone enjoyed their dishes. Went for lunch. I would certainly go back. Kimchi pancake was good but wish it was a bit crispier.

Updated review: had to drop this place to 2 stars from my original 5 stars. The food is still good but the service has really gone down hill. On 2 different occasions, by the same server, we were given the wrong food and made to feel like it was our fault. The first time was while sitting in the restaraunt and that was easily fixed, the second time was for take out where she forgot to include some of our food. When I called back I told her to just cancel the food we didnt get and refund the difference to our credit card. She refused to do that and said I had to come back and pick up the food. I told her I wasnt going to drive back there and get cold food. She refused so I had to dispute charges with my CC company. If you make the mistake you should be willing to fix it for your customer, if you cant do that, then you wont have customers for long. Luckily other Korean restaurant have now opened in town and this is no longer the best Korean food in town.

SO GOOD!!!! Yes yes and more yes. Try something new if youve never eaten Korean. For being in bakersfield this place is very good. Dinner is a little pricy but worth it. You get tons of food. We ordered spicy shrimp, Korean short ribs, shrimp fried rice, mochi ice cream.. all of it was delicious.

I enjoyed my meal very much. I got to try their Spicy Pork and Galbi BBQ plates. The spicy pork was tender and marinated very well. It had a really good flavor and perfect spice. The Galbi plate was really tasty. The meat was juicy and tender. The meat was also marinated very well. All the sides tasted fresh and paired well. Finished them all! The rice was cooked well.The staff was friendly and attentive. The place was clean despite being busy.

This place is 100% genuine. So good! I’ve been to South Korea and this food is right up there…. I felt like I was in Seoul. There are also awesome Koreans cooking in the kitchen. The wait staff is friendly and fun to talk to. This place is authentic. Also the name is a little misleading… they have more then tofu. All meats are offered. Get the spicy chicken bibimbap so amazing!

Korean ribs were very tasty, but not enough meat in the combination (with soup). Better stick with the meat only option. Hot stone bibimbap was good and a better value than the Kalbi ribs. Service was very attentive. I would recommend it more if it were not for the price of the ribs dish. Then again, everything is more expensive these days.

Funny thing is, I live in Bakersfield. I would’ve never thought to give this place a try. It wasn’t until a friend of mine who lives in Nevada suggested it. We had lunch there, delicious! This place will be one of my go to places to pick up lunch or dinner now. Great food and service.

Up on arrival nobody greeted us. When they did we stood there for a little while. That give time to scope the place and notice there was a bunch of chairs with tears in the upholstery and those were all covered each with a t shirt.So, their furniture is bad and the restroom is really dirty and nasty. It looks like they just mope it with a wet dirty mop. Not impressed with the place at all. Food was ok, definitely not my favorite.

Probably one of the worst KBBQ places I’ve tried. Not that the food is terrible, but most KBBQ places are amazing and this place wasn’t up to par. The Bulgogi lunch combo was overpriced at $18 and was pretty bland, I had to ask for extra sauce to put on it. The tofu soup was okay, and service was acceptable. Overall, I probably won’t go back.

Came here for dinner with my wife and kids. It was busy and looks like they’re understaffed. We were seated within 20 minutes.Our server Min provided outstanding service, he was very attentive, and had a great attitude.The food was delicious, and even our kids who can be picky eaters at times, tried lots of new food and they loved it.For appetizers we shared the Banchan and Calamari. I had the Galbi Bbq combo w/ Assorted Soon Tofu. My wife had the Spicy Pork. Kids shared the Stir Fry Noodles w/chicken bulgogi. We can’t wait to come back and try out the rest of the menu.

While Tofu is the first word in their name there are a large choice of mixed tofu/meat options the vegetarian choices are very limited . . .I ordered an appetizer of Orange Tofu & asked if I could get a small salad to go with it. What I received was a full side ordered salad with 6 large squares of tofu at just under $10. The remark was thats all we could make, ???My husband ordered the Chicken Skewer dish & while it looked beautiful but was so incredibly tough he could not even eat them . . .Needless to the we will not be going back again . . .

My first experience was wonderful at this restaurant. It was a Sunday night and the restaurant wasn’t crowded (yet?).The servers were fine. They did everything they’ve supposed to. It felt like a small family owned business.Food: it was good. B+. Love the combo. Smaller in size but you get to have 2 dishes. The Soft Tofu soup wasn’t that good, just OK IMHO. The Bulgogi was yummy as well as their side dishes. The broccoli tasted really good for somehow. Maybe it was because of the Bulgogi.If the owner or manager were to read this, please put more lights inside the restaurant. I felt it was a little dark inside. On my way out, I saw a woman using the phone’s flashlight to read the menu. Before coming in, I thought it was closing time because it was dim both inside and outside of the restaurant.

Was in Bakersfield and wanted Korean food so I decided to give this place a try. Walked in 45 mins their closing time but they still let us dine in at no rush. Food was delicious I’m glad that I found somewhere closer to me with bomb Korean food so I don’t have to drive all the way to LA. I’m from Fresno and I would totally drive 2 hrs just to eat here again. I would recommend. Awesome food and awesome service. Can’t wait for my next visit.

Ate here to celebrate daughters high school graduation. The first thing you notice before going inside is the B rating [not good].There are a few positive things I want to mention before getting to the glaring issues: the servers were nice and some of the food items were decent. Also, nobody harassed me and my family for not wearing a mask, even though the whole staff was wearing one. I appreciate that.The problems: 1) there was a fly bugging us during the latter half of the meal. It was irritating. 2) the prices are a bit high. 3) we were not notified up front that there were no dessert items except one. The server, although she was friendly and this was her first day, did not know what was available and had to keep checking with the kitchen. 4) there was dust and some webbing on the walls and the light fixture above us. Some chairs looked worn too.Unfortunately, I can see why the rating is low. I hope they make the changes needed to earn an A rating, but either way I will not be returning.

Really debating between 2 and 3 stars.I hardly ever review places, but man do I regret dropping $80 here.First, the place really does have a B health rating, which Id never seen but immediately understood why. Dust everywhere, splatters on walls, cloudy drinking glasses.But honestly, I was willing to look past this for a tasty meal. I got two entrees and an appetizer, and every item LOOKED great when it arrived to the table, but every item also tasted mostly like heavy cooking oil.Definitively cannot recommend this place, and definitively wont return for a second visit.

The first thing to notice about this place is the B rating outside of the restaurant, and for good reason. Very dusty, looks a bit run down inside, and a fly was buzzing about my partys table. Ordering the Dumpling Soup was a mistake, dumplings lacked flavor and substance. We had ordered the Pork Fried Rice, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Bulgogi which were decent at best. The food is good and satisfactory but the service has taken a nose dive. There are always just 1 or two waiters, and they are either overwhelmed or not working efficiently enough. I saw numerous tables still with dirty plates and not cleaned yet. I placed an order to go like an hour before, was told it would be ready in 25/30 minutes. I got there 45 mins to hour later to make sure it was ready, and I still had to wait 15 minutes after I got there . Despite the fact that the food was ready ( it was packed already on another table). They took their sweet time to acknowledge, charge me and give me my order. This has happened twice already, so definitely not a one time fluke.

Didnt expect that I could have even better Duenjang Jjigae (koream traditional soybean soup) than ones in Korea Town in LA lol! Side dishes are definitely within top 10% taste and quality, which means general food quality of most dishes should be excellent. Weve also had very tasty Yookgaejang and Seafood Tofu soup. Very good serving too despite short-staffed. There was only one server during prime dinner time but server didnt lose focus and spirit. As a former waitress, I know that is not easy to keep this attitude.

I drive by this place every day and have been wanting to try it. We finally went in and had a great experience. I ordered Veggie Fried Rice, my friend got the Veggie Stir Fry with Tofu and a side of white rice, and we split an order of Orange Tofu. The serving size was huge but I swallowed up that whole bowl... My friend veggies looks so good too but I didnt taste them. The orange tofu was excellent and I definitely recommend getting that in addition to you order. It wasnt to battered(I feel like some orange tofu dishes are heavily battered and fried) and the sauce was of course great. We got this little set up of pickled veggies and beans and other things. We honestly didnt know what they were for or how to eat them. But it was food... so we just ate them haha and it was great! I asked our server if she could explain but there was a little bit of a language barrier, but she just said what they were and we got the gist, just eat it. Anyway, I think I found a great new restaurant that I want to go to more often!!!

The food here is excellent. The only real issue is the price point for most of the items, so going during lunch time specials is a must. The decor inside the restaurant itself is pretty cozy, and youll even get to listen to some Korean pop music while you eat.

I dont know much about Korean food, but, it was very good. The restaurant has a good variety. We are from out of town but we came twice this last stay in Bakersfield. I am gluten intolerant so they have a lot of plates that I can eat. They also offer macaroons made with almond flour, so I even got to eat dessert. Would recomend this place. Try something new.

There was nothing wrong with the food. It was lovely. When we got to this place, my Mexican wife and I(White), there was a waitress who passed us 3 times without even acknowledging us. I thought oh well, maybe theyre busy, but then three Korean kids come in and still without acknowledging me or my wife she offers to seat the kids. The kids told her, No, they were here first and only then did she seat us. After we finished our meal, she wouldnt bring us a check. The other waiter ended up bringing it to us and he was really nice, so I gave him a tip instead. Its worth it to go, just avoid the racist waitress if youre not Korean.

My sister and I come here alot for there food and because its our favorite place to go. The people already know us and there so nice to us thank you by the way even though we are very loud when we come to eat. Its not the most impressive Korean I have had and its a bit pricey for its quality. Im not sure if I had came on a bad day, but honestly you can get the same quality food at Bentos or even Maoi Pho for a lot cheaper. Finally a Korean restaurant in Bakersfield that matches the menu and quality of its LA counterparts. Although the soon tofu soup is not fore everyone, it has become one of my all time favorite dishes especially on a cold winter day. If you are feeling adventurous, try the seafood pancake. You will not regret it! The staff is very attentive and willing to answer any questions you may have. The Korean pop music videos playing on the TVs around the restaurant are pretty entertaining.

This was a delightful surprise that pleased my pallet and my eye. Upon first glance Tofu House looks like a typical strip mall foodery with neon signs adorning its windows. But step inside and its a lovely, quaint Korean restaurant with a wonderful and friendly staff. The food is absolutely delicious. I ordered the Spicy Tofu and, wowie zowie, was it HOT! But thats ok...because the beautiful lady in charge came by to ask how our food was and realized the dish was a bit too spicy for me (I believe I had asked for a fire extunguisher) and she immediately offered to fix it for me. She was back in a flash with an absolutely perfect dish of not so spicy tofu. My boyfriend and I loved every bite. Do yourself a favor and order a pot of the Rice Beer.....what unexpected treat! My tastebuds are still thanking me.

This is a pretty good place, one of the few korean choices in the city of Bakersfield. It is a little more expensive than most korean places for their soon tofu, but it was satisfactory. I prefer the mom and pop places.
