We were in from out of town For The Eyes Have It belly dance festival, and found this little gem. The food is delicious! The service was excellent as well. We will definitely be coming back. So yummy!

Tokyo don is my absolute favorite place to eat ever since high school. the service is absolutely incredible and there’s nothing better than supporting a local business. 100/10 recommend the veggie chow mein and orange chicken
My potstickers were burnt not even sure what was inside of them, egg rolls had like a weird curry powder taste to them. Food was super salty. The only thing that was ok was the fried rice still not enough shrimp overall $62 order n gave back half of my money so they get an extra star for that.
Amazing food and great service! My favorite thing to order are the crab Rangoons, theyre warm and sweet. I also love how the chow mein noodles has a good texture; its not too soft.
This food is terrible. There was no rice provided with the dinner meal, the sweet and sour sauce tasted like BBQ sauce, all the meat is over breaded and has no flavor. Literally the worst Chinese food we have ever had!
The food here is so delicious. Went here on a weekend and was surprised at how empty it was because the food was great. Service was good too theyre very nice and welcoming. Will be returning soon for sure
Absolutely worst Chinese food ever. So bad I wouldnt give the left overs to my dogs. It took them 1.5 hrs to deliver the food. It was packed poorly on styrofoam containers and it was a huge mess as the containers had holes so sauce leaked everywhere. All the chicken was over cooked. The beef was full of gristle. Everything was bland with no flavor. It used to be ok when they first opened but theyve gone way down hill.
Disgusting food. Made me sick. The Orange Chicken tasted like soggy mushed bread and really doubt it was chicken. The noodles I ordered were flavorless, the chicken on it tasted like unseasoned boiled chicken. The rice was very grease.
We love Tokyo Don!! Have been there probably 15 times and the food and service has been excellent each time. If youve never been here, try it! The family dinners are the way to go and the honey prawns are delish!!!
Absolutly disgusting!!! This is the worst chinese food i have ever gotten. I got the house chow main and mushu pork yesterday to go. It was the worst chinese food i have ever seen. The chow main was all noodles with a few tiny pieces of cabage and was tasteless. The mushu pork was mostly cabage with two very small pieces of pork. It was so over cooked and soggy i couldnt eat it. It was in a big puddle of juice. Looked like soup. I was so mad and disapointed i threw the whole mess in the garbage.
They were extra nice and stayed open a little longer for us the other night when we called to order some food and didnt realize they were closing in the next ten minutes and it took me at least 15 minutes plus ordering too before I got there to pick up out food. They are very nice and food is great.
Not worth the prices. Chow mien noddles were over cooked also, had a hair in it. The fried rice was good. Wouldn’t spend a dollar there again .
Good food and great service. They cooked a dish to our specifications, even though it was not typical for them.Food was good traditional America/chinese. The waitress was very friendly and professional.We will return.
DISAPPOINTMENT! Absolutely very frustrated with this restaurant. First and for most its very expensive, not only did they get my whole order wrong but I also found hair in my rice. When I called to complain and explain everything, I got hung up on. As soon as I called back she hung up on me again. Never ever again coming back here

Food was disgusting doesnt even deserve a star wasted 20 dollars:/ soggy prawns. Mushy chow mein and sweet and sour chicken was so soggy and too breaded i couldnt even taste the sweet or the sourness NOT EVEN THE CHICKEN. Disappointed

Not happy. Very little chicken in all my meals. The orange chicken was just fried batter. No glaze. No real flavor at all. We will not ever go back.

This place is our go to restaurant when we want Chinese food. The food is great here. We love their Kung Pao Chicken and their Beef Broccoli. The people here are always nice and helpful.

2023-04-12 02:07:23My fiance and I visited Merced from out of town for a business trip and Tokyo Don was one of the only places open on Easter night. We were extremely disappointed with our entire dining experience. The vegetable chow mein was completely flavorless and had chunks of uncooked onion and celery for filler. My fiances pork fried rice was an unappetizing black/brown color and had old chunks of pork fat in it. There was no quality meat in the dish at all. The worst part was the crab rangoons which didnt even have any crab in them! The food was not worth the money we paid for it. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality Chinese food and I hope for the sake of the Merced locals that there is better Chinese food out there!

2020-09-16 02:50:23Spent $50 and it was so incredibly bland we ended up eating leftovers instead.Shrimp with honey walnut was crispy but didnt come with any honey walnut sauce.Potstickers were actually pretty good. Only part of the whole meal we enjoyed.Chow mein was very bland and for some reason instead of having a BBQ flavor it had a spicy finish to a bland flavor.Chicken chow mein and Sweet n Sour pork were also very bland with the pork being very soggy.Never going to order from them again.Only way this food would taste good is if you are so drunk you cant stand.

2019-10-20 02:42:04The restaurant is very clean and well-maintained. The food is very authentic and the service is fast and friendly. I noticed that the amount of food you pay for is slightly less than at other places that I have been to but the difference is not that significant. I paid $9.50 or so for some sweet and sour chicken and chow mein. The variety of entrees they offer is quite large, in my opinion, so if you are looking to eat something more particular and at a place where chinese cuisine is cooked in a more traditional way, this is a good place to go.

2021-09-09 01:14:26Everything was very flavorful and the portions are good but the only Issue I had was I ordered Mongolian beef and the amount of onions I received was so enormous and completely out weighed the beef I at best received 3 ounces of beef and about 2 lbs of onions other then that the rice and soups are good.

2020-06-13 01:41:09I ordered Mongolian beef and got 99% onions and 5 pieces of beef. We also ordered shrimp fried rice and the entree had 5 small shrimp. Apparently it’s their standard. Lesson learned and never ordering from this place again. They should consider renaming the dish to Mongolian onions. If there was an option to give 0 stars that’s what it should be.

2020-08-07 20:58:22What is the deal with the onions? I ordered the garlic chicken and potstickers. The garlic chicken, was 99% onions and a few peices of chicken. There was no rice. I will say the sauce was flavorful, which is good because I am super disappointed with the potstickers. Im not sure what the problem was, but they tasted funny. I hope I do not get sick. I will never order from here again (as I sadly eat my saucy onions.)

What up with the meat? Hardly any in my chow mein . Chicken chow mein had like 3 shreds of chicken . Not coming here again. I don’t even receive napkins and utensils.

2021-03-12 01:42:29You’re better off eating a $.25 cent cup of Ramen Noodles from food 4 less. I’m not exaggerating. The noodles I ordered was nothing but water and some really thin looking noodles. Amazing bad, no flavor at all. If I could give it a negative ten then I would. Save your $$
