This restaurant is a really great experience. The food was delicious and tasted so real and healthy. Our server Jake was making, he was speedy and friendly. The interior is really beautiful. It’s a bit on the pricey side but definitely worth the money. I had the Two Egg Breakfast, the eggs were delicious, potatoes were perfectly cooked and the sausage tasted amazing. The bread was definitely on the crunchier side but it was enjoyable with everything in the plate.

True Food Kitchen at Walnut Creek serves health-conscious dishes such as creative Burgers, Pizzas, Salads, Lasagna and Vegetables. We ordered Rose Sangria, Stella Artois Beer, Lemonade and Cucumber Martini for drinks and relished their Pan Roasted Chicken, Mediterranean Salad and Bison Sausage Pizza for lunch. The dishes were well cooked, fresh, not too spicy, unique and tasty. The staff are helpful and great.

Excellent location, atmosphere, and service. Overpriced, undersized, and over sauced salad. Nicely grilled salmon.Right next the Broadway garage and acting anchor to the plaza, this restaurant is hard to miss with plentiful seating, inviting ambiance, and pumping music. The service was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable; once seated I was helped in less than two minutes.But $28.95 for 4 tablespoons of dressing, a small selection of seasonal vegetables, and salmon is extraordinary. I felt robbed while sitting comfortably in the beautiful open air restaurant with smiling servers. There are better deals for perfectly seasoned food, although none as conveniently located nearby.

Great spot for clean and healty food !!!Found this spot after searching places similar to Urban Plates, which is one of my fav spots for healthy food.If you are on a diet or just simply want clean healthy food, this is a spot you should definitely try.Its nested on the ground level of the cozy Broadway Plaza, which has many shopping options and amazing parking (first 3 hrs of parking is free)I had the teriyaki bowl, with shrimp, and it was fresh and tasty, just lacked a little spice 😋. My appetizer was the edamame dumplings and butternut squash soup. Overall, I was very happy.Service was great, and they have lots of staff to assist with your every need.

True Food Kitchen never disappoints. We have been to the Walnut Creek location a few times and each time weve left happy. On our most recent visit, our party of three ordered an Angus Hamburger, a Winter Harvest salad and a chopped salad. All three dishes were excellent. I really enjoyed the Winter Harvest salad and hamburger. What really stood out this time was the service. My mother-in-law ordered a medium-well hamburger and it came out closer to medium. She was fine with the burger that way, but about 5 minutes later the server brought us another burger informing us that it was on the house because the first burger wasnt medium-well. I was amazed that they would do this, especially since we didnt tell them anything was wrong. Truly outstanding service.

My first time eating at this restaurant last night.. I loved the ambience, I loved the service and loved their food.. I ordered a poke not knowing it’s uncooked meat, and they understood my concern and immediately replaced it with a new dish .. food service is quick and very neat.. amazing for the price and location is amazing too.. I only have good things to talk about true food kitchen .. maybe they can rename to “Too Good Kitchen” 😊

Really disappointed in the walk in and to-go experience. I can overlook poor service and cold food. But its really expensive for the volume of food and the worst part was getting home and having my soup be a 1/3 full in the container. Three sips and it was gone. I wont be back.

Do not go if you are hungry! I had a bowl and my husband had the “not your mamas meatloaf.” It was 3”x3” and served with a few potatoes. this honestly looked more like a very light lunch portion and it was $22.50. We are not huge eaters- just expect to feel satisfied when we leave an establishment. Went to a wonderful Thai restaurant last night (Andaman], With substantial portion sizes and lower prices than this place and a wonderful experience. I would never go back here again and felt for the first time in a long time, quite dooped by the trendy atmosphere.

The atmosphere is great at this restaurant. soooo much seating, it’s really large. The vegan double cheese burger is very tasty and very hearty, could use some sauce or juice. The potato hash side was a bit bland and not hot - there is no French fry option I’m pretty sure. The adaptive tea was delicious. The menu was diverse. Would eat here again.

I am very satisfied with their foods my mom is very hard to please when it comes to restaurants because she’s a chef she knows but she said this is by far the best food she ever had here in bay area.. I highly recommend this place if you wanna eat clean healthy and vegan. So glad we decided to eat here. Will definitely come back.

We went for lunch and ordered the spicy Panang curry and the pan seared sea bass. I loved the curry. The veggies were all fresh and flavored well with the curry. The ambience was airy and well lit and lots of green throughout the restaurant. Great location too!

This review is overdue! I had lunch with a friend of mine here at the end of September. The food was wonderful, and the ambiance was good, but the star of the show was Haley, our incredibly knowledgeable and patient server. Haley is well versed in the menu items and made some tasty suggestions. When it was time to order adult beverages, Haley, who is under the legal drinking age, again came through with a solid suggestion (Cowboy Jam) based solely on her experience placing cocktail orders. Haleys recommendation did not disappoint. If you are coming to dine at True Food, ask to sit in Haleys section. Your service will be taken to an elevated level. Also, try the dumplings; theyre amazing!

I was excited to try this place, but was sorely disappointed by the quality of the food. The butternut squash soup looked and tasted exactly like that Imagine brand of boxed soup...thin liquid, weirdly sweetened, no flavor. They could not have cooked it from scratch, even the simplest home cooked squash soup is delicious. The edamame guacamole was made with rotten avocados. With three of us sharing it, we couldnt finish it, it just tasted like bad avos. I would rather have been told that, then have food made from bad avos served. Finally I got a harvest salad, which was ok but the main ingredient was thickly sliced raw brussel sprouts. Hmm. I couldnt finish it, I mean how many raw Brussels can one eat? Maybe if they were chopped finer and balanced with a nicer leafy green...just overall its like no one actually tasted the menu and cared that despite good intentions, the ingredients and preparation is not tasty.The menu is pretty extensive but I dont think Ill go back after this experience. Upside was that our server was fantastic, I dont expect good table service anymore especially at a more casual eatery like this but wow she went above and beyond. I didnt catch her name but she has a long black braid!

True food kitchen is at multiple locations. We went to the Concord location tonight. The restaurant layout is very spacious and has a great lively ambience. We ordered a local craft beer named Coast which was a light beer ( pale ale) and a vodka based cocktail named Sunrise. Both the beverages were good. The beer was slightly sweet and was very pleasant. The cocktail has a great citrus taste from the lemon and a nice backdrop of vodka. We ordered the edamame guacamole with pita and charred cauliflower for appetizers. Both appetizers were really tasty. The charred cauliflower has a nice charred taste and sauce was really great. The addition of dates compliments the dish very well. The edamame guacamole combined with pea was delicious. The guacamole has a very nice flavor from the garlic and freshness of the citrus combined with the richness of the avocado. The peas chips were also really crispy. For mains we ordered the All grains bowl and the mushroom pizza ( vegan options with vegan ricotta and caramelized onions. The pizza crust was nice and I loved the taste of the mushroom combined with the ricotta and caramelized onions. The all grains bowl has miso glazed sweet potato, green pesto, sautéed mushrooms and quinoa as the main ingredients. The pesto was fresh and had a great taste coming from the herbs, the mushrooms were really cooked well and had a great earthy taste which complimented the pesto. The introduction of the miso glances sweet potatoes was very interesting addition which I I really liked. The service was quick and the staff was really professional and polite. Overall it was a great dining experience.

The bar top is a prime people-watching for downtown Walnut Creek! Our bartender Kristina was amazing, made great recommendations and fantastic drinks. The Clear Mary was the clear favorite, and normally its not my type of drink. Ciao Bella and Cowboy Jam were also fantastic. 20/10 for Kristina and making the whole experience wonderful, well be back!

If you go during fall season make sure to get the butternut squash pie! It’s SO good we immediately ordered another. The pesto pasta is also really good. Their apple lemonade wasn’t worth the money but still a good drink! I love how it’s so healthy they don’t even offer soda hahaha.

Very noisy, busy and huge place. The whole restaurant is open concept. So there’s lots of outdoor seating as well as indoor.The food was well flavored. Not too big portion sizes.Kids portion of chicken teriyaki was a well balanced meal.Pizza’s were good too. They were thin crust and hand rolled dough.Our server was ok. Couldn’t understand what he was saying really. If felt as if he was in a rush and just blabbering out everything.Service was slow. But overall an okay place. Wouldn’t mind going there again.

Fresh food and tasty vegetarian options. The drinks are pretty good, a little light on spirits. Edamame guacamole is great (kid friendly too). Surprisingly, the double veggie beet burger is a lot of food but more manageable than youd expect. Kids cheese pizza is a good size too. the juices are a refreshing touch on a hot day.

Update: 2021 Still good as ever!!! Of course the seating arrangements is different t due to COVID19. They are practicing social distancing, wearing masks, using hand sanitizer.If you want to eat healthy, Id say this is the place for you! Theres definitely plenty of seating and you can make reservations(love that)! It had a very fresh smell when you walked in and such a beautiful ambiance(lighting in the room is not too bright). It was my first time and Im not quite a healthy eater but I always try anything once. I was kind of worried, but they actually had a very good looking menu!I ordered the poke bowl that had the albacore and quinoa! Not a fan of quinoa but I loved the taste of this bowl! The ginger definitely made the different and on the side was the sauce with jalapeño that gave it a kick to the taste. Oh Id recommend the grilled cauliflower for appetizer, it was very tasty. Id say they have something in their menu for everyone...I even saw kids in here so you know its good!

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with True Food Kitchen that I feel compelled to share. I had placed a substantial order for my event, totaling nearly $600, and I took all necessary steps to ensure everything went smoothly. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a complete disaster.To begin with, I called the restaurant a day before my event to confirm my order and was told that everything was good to go. This gave me a sense of assurance that my carefully planned event would have the food it needed on time.However, on the day of our meeting, when we were eagerly awaiting the delivery of our food, I received a text from the restaurant, and to my utter shock, my food order was canceled. Yes, you read that right--on the very day of my event!I was flabbergasted by this unprofessional behavior. The whole point of placing my order weeks in advance and confirming it the day before was to ensure that everything would be ready and delivered as scheduled. This was not a last-minute order; it was planned meticulously, and I relied on True Food to fulfill their part of the agreement.To make matters worse, when I called to inquire about this abrupt cancellation, I was met with a callous response from the general manager, Chris. Instead of offering to attempt to rectify the situation, all I got was a Sorry, can you re-order again? This was a shocking display of indifference towards a customer who had spent a significant amount of money and trusted their service.As someone who values professionalism and reliability when dealing with restaurants, I cannot emphasize enough how disappointed I am in the way True Food Kitchen handled this situation. Canceling a large order on the very day it was supposed to be delivered is inexcusable, and the lack of accountability from the general manager only adds insult to injury.Needless to say, my event was marred by this experience, and I would strongly caution anyone considering placing a large order with them. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this establishment, as they have demonstrated a severe lack of professionalism, customer care, and reliability when it matters most.

We are looking forward to when True Food has a restaurant in Seattle so we can eat here more often. Definitely recommend.

Hesitant between three and four stars, will go with the lower and with the room for upgrades.Being a franchise restaurant it took well over 30 minutes to cook two salads, having limited menu selection. On the positive side - spacious restaurant inside seating hall, tasty food (yes, Good Earth Cobb Salad and Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl salads were outstanding) and smiling service, thank you Yaneth).Overall liked the place and will see you next time and hopefully will increase the star rating.

The service and food quality is going down!We ordered a starter, Tuna fish tartar. We also ordered the Ancient Grains bowl, with Salmon fish. And, Lasagna.For the Tuna fish tartar. The fish texture was mushy, with a very strong sauce, that completely blocked tasting the fish.For the Ancient Grains bowl, it was okay.For lasagna, it was bad. At first they served us with a very small portion, than usual. So we asked our waitress, if this is a half portion. Her reply was this is full portion. Then she walked away. I was shaken with her reply. I had no choice but bring it to the kitchen myself and asked for the Manager. First the Manager said the portion was correct, which was three pieces of, three inches by three inches noodles, with some spinach, a little cheese in it, a piece of basil garnish. Then the manager quickly said the sauce quantity was not adequate. They will fix it. We continued our lunch, completely finishing one entree, while waiting for the lasagna. About 15 minutes later, our ”fixed lasagna” came out with a large portion of sauce and tree pieces of noodles in the middle, with some spinach, but no cheese lasagna. I don’t know if they forgot or ran out of cheese?The Manager did proactively take the lasagna off our bill, which was appreciated.However now during our meal, our server neglected to service our table…never asked how was our “replacement lasagna, and no refills for our drinks, etc.Although we regularly go there, 2 - 3 times per month, we need to take a break from this restaurant!End

We sat in the outdoor section with heaters. The inside is noisy. I had the chicken sausage pizza, Wife had the steak tacos daughter had the kids pizza. The pizzas were good, my Wife wasnt thrilled with the tacos. Also did you know they dont have soda here? We thought that was odd. They could carry a natural soda? They have beer so I was 😊. The service was very good!

Its far from where we live, but we go here on our anniversary every year. Its one of the very few restaurants that you can eat clean. They have gluten-free choices as well for those of us who are on an anti-inflammatory diet. And the food tastes so good, the service is excellent. We love True Food! I always order more food to bring home.

We have gone to True Food Kitchen twice in the past two years. The Butternut Squash soup had been amazing the first time around. This latest attempt was truly disappointing. Soup was really watery and had a unappetizing brown tint to it. We sent it back. Rest of the food was great, although overall, food quality has diminished if compared to years back.

This place is fun and delicious! The atmosphere is very light and airy with a friendly vibe. The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable of the food, which really helped in making decisions. I had the Mediterranean chicken pita with a half and half side of kale salad and sweet potato hash. The kale salad was amazing and my chicken pita was full of flavor.The highlight of the meal was the strawberry and rhubarb cobbler that was just out of this world.Overall I am extremely satisfied with my meal. I feel full with out feeling gross and the flavors knocked it out of the park. Its a come back place for sure!

Everything is balanced from a nutrition perspective - carb, veggies and protein.This place has plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.What to try -1. Spicy panang curry - extremely flavorful and rich.2. Grilled chicken and panini sandwich - every bit feels fresh. Comes with a side of potatoes or kale salad - both delicious.3. LOVE this place! Its slightly pricey, but thats what you pay for the good stuff. I love the roasted cauliflower, kale salad and salmon. Its delicious with a sparkling wine. The atmosphere is great and theres plenty of parking in the garage, which is free for the first 3 hours. Be sure to park in the garage close to Macys in the ground floor. Service was a bit slow but it was likely the time of day.

A Truly Healthy Place to Eat !!!Yes, I admit it, Im a foodie, and you know what? Im okay with that. I eat everything, everywhere I go, I eat Meat, Vegan, Italian, Laotian, Bun, Boa, BBQ, etc etc. So its no surprise that every once in a while I want explore the healthy side of eating. Gone are the days of a salad with grilled chicken (not that that is a bad thing) now that there are so many other options out there and you can find restaurants that cater to everyones lifestyle. True Food Kitchen is one such a place that caters to your health, not only that they truly make great food.Ive had healthy food in the past at restaurants that have been boring, tasteless, lifeless and well not that appealing, so Im happy that places like True Food Kitchen exist. Located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. True food is part of the Broadway Plaza shopping center. Its a great location and a very busy one. Enclosed in an open modern space that suits the cuisine, it is really nice place to eat and the weather was great that day so again I sat on the patio. My server was very friendly and knowledgable and very patient as I let her know that it was my first time there and I was a Burger, barbecue, steak kinda guy. To help me cleanse my body of toxins lol she recommended the Kale Aid which was green, cold and very refreshing. For my starter I had the insanely good Edamame Dumplings, a Vegan dish made with dashi, white truffle oil, and asian herbs. it was simply amazing. Next up was the Ancient Grains bowl made with miso, sesame, glazed sweet potato, turmeric, charred onion, snow pea, grilled portobello, avocado, hemp seed and I added some grass-fed steak too, to make even better. Just simply amazing with great flavours and how they all blended together made for a memorable meal. This is Truly an amazing place to eat and great to know they have locations from east to west. I do hope they expand to Canada one day.

I ordered takeout and when I came to get my food they said there’s a wait. I waited 45 minutes to get a salad…. When I got home I was disappointed to see what I got. I always order the same salad (Tuscan Kale Salad) and what I got looked like a kid made it.. it was soggy and not chopped all the way. It didn’t even look like it was a full size. Usually the portion is a lot bigger. Oh and the salmon was raw.. This place is going down. So disappointed.

I did pay for the correct one, there must’ve been some confusion with the hostess who took my phone order. I could not eat the burger it was not edible. I dont know what the cook was thinking, but the patty was full of salt that I was able to scrap chunks of it off and you could see it inside the patty too. Its like it was seasoned in just salt. To top it they are ridiculously overpriced, so not worth the money for such a big mistake.

I had very high expectations, and they reached none of that. I was greeted by a kind lady, who asked me “outside or inside” I asked for outside and I received inside. Then 5 min later the waitress comes up to me and says “we don’t have soda” what is wrong with the employees? They don’t know their menu! After I switched my “Shirley temple” to something called “Prickley pear” it was $5 for some spicy pink drink, horrible. Then I waited for the meal, it took a long time, of about 50 min. Starving, I dig in into my burger, only finding that it has cheese on it, I asked for no cheese. I attempted to flag down the waiters for help, but 2 of them ignored me, I had to wait until my actual waitress came back. When I was waiting for my meal again, I realized that I don’t have any utensils, I was never given any. I attempted to flag down a other waiter, only to be ignored once again. Clearly if that employee ain’t getting your tip, they ignore you. After an hour and 30 min off trouble I was finally able to eat my meal. Then when the waitress came back to refill my water, she spilled it on the table. It’s okay accidents happen, but all she said was “my bad” and left me a table of water. “True” kitchen? I think not, at least the food was somewhat decent, I don’t recommend going here. Also no French fires?!

Waitresses are pretentious and they don’t have expected manners and friendliness. The food is just fine, nothing special. We took my in-law there for dinner and I wish we didn’t! When it was the time for ordering drinks one of us asked for coke and the waitress rolled her eyes and said we don’t serve sodas here! ( Okay healthy people, I don’t drink soda myself but I don’t give that look to anyone wanting to drink It either!) anyway we got some of their refresher drinks and it was pure water! It was suppose to be a lemonade! Did you forget the lemon?? I ordered a salad which by the way they don’t have lettuce in their salads! And I asked for couple of lemons instead of salad dressing, she forgot the lemons… i had to ask three other waiters to get some lemons and by the time I finished my food they brought the lemons! Never going back! If I’m paying for a service and good meal I expect it!

I was very disappointed in the hostess and their ability to accommodate individual situations.Problem 1: I requested outside seating and was told it could be a 30 minute wait. I was fine with that. 40 minutes later I finally get the text that my table is ready.Problem 2: When getting seated outside, there was a big long haired dog next to the tiny table my party was supposed to sit at. One of my party has dog allergies and we requested to move to one of the other empty tables. Our request was denied even though we had waited 40 minutes just to get seated due to those tables being reserved for other parties.Problem 3: Me and my party witnessed another outside table being emptied after the customers there just left and we requested that table. We were again denied and told the only seating we could get was the outside table beside the dog or inside.There are health reasons people are requesting to eat outside for, ie the pandemic, and it is beyond outrageous that our simple requests kept getting denied again and again with no thought to the health and safety of my party.

By the name of the restaurant and the owners name, also the decorations, I was excited to have food here. Lentil soup was our starter. It was cold and the lentil was uncooked. I asked to change it. Nice place with great food. Focuses on healthier, fresher food. I ordered the lasagne, but shouldve also ordered a salad because the portion was small. Mom ordered fish and it smelled and tasted great. Dad had a burger which he said was good but a bit underdone and with leathery onions. I had some of my sisters beans and they were great. The food here is indescribably good and good for you! Service is excellent. The only reason they dont get five stars from me is the ambiance. The interior is wide open with massive amounts of noise from the open kitchen and the packed tables. Go for the food but dont plan on talking much unless you like to shout! Sitting in their heated outdoor area helps a lot with the noise, but still isnt very restful as there is heavy foot traffic from the mall walking right past the tables. The food is worth it though and I suggest reservations since many others feel the same and theres usually a healthy wait at the door.

So I sent it back and asked for a greyhound instead (vodka and grapefruit juice); it was also off... Come to find out that they do not fresh squeeze their juices; according to the manager they do it once in the morning. I have my doubts that the grapefruit juice wasnt at least a day old, it was not fresh tasting. It seems like a relatively simple thing to do to use a large press and it would go along with their message of freshness and good ingredients. Had I ordered and gotten a good drink this would be a 5 star review. Will be back as overall and over several visits has been great. Suggestion: get juice presses for every location.

The menu at True Food is really unique and the ingredients are very fresh. Its one of our familys go to places. They place an emphasis on anti inflammatory foods which really makes a difference when you are feeling under the weather or need an immune boost from not sleeping enough. Great food!! Great Service!! But PLEASE pay attention to your bathrooms!! There were NO seat guards in either of the 3 stalls and either no toilet paper or almost out on all. There was toilet paper laying all around the floor in the stalls. I could see feces spattered on the walls. Toilets were scary looking. Please remember that bathrooms say a lot about the establishment and it is important to keep them clean!! We ate lunch and went shopping for a couple of hours and went back for desert and bathrooms still looked the same. This was our third visit at True food kitchen and only the first time the bathrooms were decent. I hope it improves.

This place was pretty good over all. I had the spicy chicken Panang curry. Hubby had the grass fed burger which was really good. A friend had the artichoke pesto pizza which lacked flavor. I had my meal with a strawberry smash which is to easy to drink and could be dangerous. Unfortunately the IPA that was served was oxidized and not worth drinking. Dessert was strawberry rhubarb crisp and chia seed pudding both were very tasty. Service was excellent! Some things were a little overpriced in my opinion but overall I had a great experience.

One of my favorite places to eat. The ambience sets the tone for a wonderful meal. Theres something for everyone to eat on the menu: Vegetarian? Gluten-Free? Beef lover? Pescatarian? Vegan? They got you covered! My favorite things are the Ancient Grains Bowl - wow, I just never get enough of that! The Umami Burger is stellar. I dont say that lightly, as Ive had some gourmet burgers. I was here for the VIP opening and I was highly impressed. I had the Cranberry and Pomegranate Mimosa, Garden Scramble with sausage, and the Chia Seed Pudding. All of it was stellar! Each piece had many flavors, but no one flavor overpowered the others. They were balanced perfectly. The scramble had brussel sprouts, which I cant normally eat cooked, but these were cooked to perfection. Plus, there was smoked Gouda. The pudding had bananas and coconut, which are flavors that I think can be overpowering, but again, they were perfectly balanced.The staff is also top notch. All the employees were attentive and welcoming. The space itself is also fabulous. The decor is simple and half of the room is windows, so you get lots of natural light.All in all, it was a great experience and I highly recommend it.

Went here for my aunts birthday dinner last Oct 17th. We were seated on one of the outdoor tables, socially distanced from other tables. The food was great, our server Laura was nice and attentive, and all the staff were wearing face coverings. However, and if not for COVID I wont make a big deal out of this, we were given a champagne glass with a lipstick stain on it. I immediately brought this to Lauras attention and she apologized and replaced it right away. We felt very unsafe and spent the next 5 mins wiping down the glasses and cutlery with disinfecting wipes. To kitchen staff and management: please make sure (double, even triple check) that everything is thoroughly cleaned before sending them out to guests. These are trying times and we appreciate you trying your best to serve us amidst this pandemic, but please keep yourselves and your guests safe!

The Ancient Grains Salad is one of my favorites. The summer cocktails are also good. However, the service is spotty. We visited over the weekend and were told there was a wait of approximately 25 min. We waited at the bar by the entrance and after half an hour i asked the host again how much longer we had to wait and was quoted 5 minutes. 5 minutes passed and we noticed many parties coming in after us who were being seated before us, saw empty tables in the sun room, and basically we were being ignored. We decided to walk around the mall for something better and found a place. I decided to experiment so i never told them we are leaving them and without any surprises they never called me to even tell me our table is ready. Pretty bad experience if you ask me.
