Small eatery with absolutely bad bad quality of food they use tons of baking soda in making rice which left me sick for 2 daysWell the other thing is the dingy bathroom. Stinky and dirty gross.

I am giving this place a three star rating, only because my friend liked her Dosa. The vada and Sambar were sour. I think Vadas batter was not fresh. Pongal and coconut chutney were good. My friend ordered Dosa, which she liked. The service was very bad. When asked for the To-Go container, the person who bought it kept it in front of me in such a way that it opened in my face. I called him thrice to pay the bill at the counter, he didnt even hear me. When paying the bill, he bought the tab and just held it to scan the card. We didnt even know how much was the amount. I had to explicitly ask him about it and then he asked whether I wanted a receipt or not. Coffee wasnt that great. It has high chairs for kids. The happy hour Dosa was enough for one person.

I really wanted to like this place, tried 2x before pandemic and the experience was really good one time and so so the 2nd. Decided to give it another try as it’s been a few years.I went on Wednesday evening and they were offering live dosa in addition to regular menu service. Decided to try it as they offered 6 or so varieties and it was unlimited for $17.99.The first couple of dosa came out very dark and crispy so had slight bitter aftertaste. So the next rounds instructed cooked to make it less brown and it was slightly better. I tried mysore masala, andhra masala, onion, gongura paneer, cheese dosas. You are probably thinking I am a pig and how was I able to eat this many dosas. They were mini dosas luckily otherwise no way I can try all of these varieties.I didn’t find most of the combinations that impressive in terms of flavors unfortunately it could be due to the fact stuffing of dosa wasn’t very generous thus insufficient amount to bring out the flavor. Even the potato masala wasn’t that great as compared to other South Indian restaurants. They gave pani puri for those who got live dosa. I didn’t find it very good and would be disappointed if I had paid for it separately. Puri was too crisp and lacked taste. Stuffing didn’t seem to be traditional potato Chana but tomato onion mixture. There may have been potato but was such a scanty amount I missed it. Pani was meh, not terrible but not great either. The coconut chutney and sambar were delicious and the saving grace of the meal. You get serve yourself from the station set up next to live dosa. Sambar is vessel that stays warm which is awesome.Overall not sure I will do live dosa again as I felt I overate to feel I get my $ worth lol. For 2 ppl this meal + mango lassi came out to $50 after tax and tip. This is tad pricy when food wasn’t satisfying taste wise. Those of you with less discerning taste and big appetite definitely come here.I love the concept of live dosa. And will come back to try their breakfast buffet sometime in near future.

I wish I could give this 0 stars. Tried this out for the first time and certainly would be my last. Ordered idli Sambhar, the idli wasn’t fresh, probably from previous day. Sambhar way too oily and watery. Also ordered veg Kurma with chapati, gave me completely uncooked chapati from the inside, kurma only had color and just was bland, didn’t taste of any spices. Also the quantity for a vegetable was like chutney.

We liked the food and services here. They have lot of no onion and garlic option, if you are into that kind of food. A lot of varieties of dosa. Paper and butter dosa were nice, liked the Samber as well. Highly recommend it to everyone.

Good location restaurant with slightly more than average food. Good choices for vegetarian albeit with not so great tastes.

Dosas are great, Sambar and chutney was tasty! Special Kudos to the dosa man who was quickly serving dosas to our wishes 👏Little rant below:I don’t understand why the owner of the restaurant wants to save on the spoons. It’s not safe to eat hot Sambar with plastic spoons. The restaurant gets extremely hot in summer due to lack of air conditioning.

What a discovery I recently made when I found this gem on the map!Its a pure vegetarian south indian restaurant at a prime location on El Camino Real. They offer a great variety of dosas, uttapams, appetizers and other regional dishes. I loved their options. The sambhar and chutney is much better than Madras Cafe. I was not sure when I first read this in another review, but I hereby confirm. Prices are also competitive. We tried Onion Tomato Uttapam, Onion Rava Dosa, Idli and Star Rocket Dosa.I felt that Uttapam quantity could have been more, Rava Dosa was the best I tried so far in Bay area, Idli could have been softer but overall good, Rocket Dosa has a visual appeal but was served kind of cold. Maybe they couldnt form a rocket when hot, not sure. Its actually like a plain Dosa shaped differently and the quantity/price is less than a regular plain dosa.I read in other reviews that its a self service restaurant, but we were given table service and there was a staff to take orders. Just had to put away our own dishes in designated place.

Atmosphere is good enough, food is delicious and staff is polite. one Panjabi guy is a treat very friendly. I had live dosa with my family recommend by that guy, and that was so good with varieties of dosas.
