Umi Sushi & Sake in Morro Bay

Meat didnt have the best flavor we had to return our beef plate because it was sour and did not want to risk it and get sick. The waitress was very nice and gave us a refund. We also ordered the Nigiri and my boyfriend said it was absolutely delicious so alot of people order sushi here so I would stick just to the sushi

Fun night sitting at the bar and chatting with the visiting sushi chef about toros and uni. Our waitress was pleasant and patience with our inquiries. The fish was fresh and excellent sake selections, perfect pairing for our seaside cravings.

A good price and good service, but pretty mediocre fish. We got the 12 piece chef’s selection of fish. We got a good variety but nothing special. What really put me off was for some of the nigiri, they put honey mustard on the fish? That was really surprising and I personally really disliked it. Some of the fish was OK like the tuna and salmon but others didn’t seem that fresh.

The food was fantastic. I don’t usually remark on presentation but I liked how they plated everything here! The salmon skin roll was thinly sliced and had just the right amount of sauce underneath. We also had a lunch bento - such great value! Our server Tanner was so friendly and took great care of our table!

We stopped in on a Monday night around 8pm and they were super busy, so we had a 20ish minute wait. (Not every table was sat, but they told us the kitchen was behind, so they weren’t seating until they were caught up.) It was absolutely worth the wait! I ordered the spicy rainbow roll, which was delicious and very fresh. My husband ordered the OMG roll, which has no rice and it was really great and different. We also sat at the bar so it was fun to watch the chef make this roll.

Went in the evening with friends and my waiter was incredibly patient and very fun.The sushi was great and the restaurant itself is dim but not dark which gives a very comfortable casual atmosphere.The decor is also very niceNot as casual as your average diner but not so fancy youd dress formal either.Overall great time

The food was really great! We had sushi at the bar. Our server was great! Very friendly and helpful. The menu had a lot of unique rolls along with traditional. My only complaint is that many of the rolls were spicy and substituting some for non-spicy costs more money. It was still some of the best and freshest sushi I have ever had. We will definitely be back again!

Outstanding sushi. Fresh and light and authentic. We had a boat filled w sushi. This is a must try. In addition we had 3 rolls and 4 appetizers... all was delicious. This is my new spot when i come to morro bay.. for sushi atleast. The was a 30 minute wait, Sunday evening, Easter Sunday.. they are popular AND righteously so. A gem of a place!

We got the chefs choice sushi with the upgrades, and we enjoyed every bite. The bar has a great view of the bay.

We come here often when visiting Morro bay. Great tasting sushi and dishes. I recommend the Red hot chili rolls and the ultimate salmon, ask for it seared, so delicious! The eel!! 😋 The noodle bowls and rice bowls are also so good. My kids even love the beef teriyaki kid plates and they try the rolls ! Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere, and great place to eat overall.
