This place is in a great location in a nice part of town. I appreciated the service when I came for my Saturday lunch, the staff were very helpful with my order and making for a clean, welcoming atmosphere. It was a more calm, laid back experience eating here, and the food was nice & fresh. Not my first time here, but certainly not my last. Thanks!

This visit the food was hardly warm, almost room temp when served to us. Chicken tenders had a lot of salt. Mac and cheese was lacking flavor and mushy pasta. Just an average place for a quick meal.

Delicious, healthy food and stellar customer service! Unita was working today and she went above and beyond to make sure our order was absolutely perfect! Had a wonderful dinner tonight at UP. Ordered the famous Chicken Cobb Salad and their newly updated Corn on the Cobb as well as the Salmon Plate with two sides of my choosing! Great atmosphere, outstanding food, amazing service. Their manager, Patrick Smith, was a huge help when choosing what to order and took the time to make sure our dinner met every dietary concern. The cherry on top was the delicious slice of their hummingbird cake which was just heavenly! Made our night, will be back 100 percent!

Personally speaking, I don’t like the cheese in the portobello mushroom sandwich. Don’t add cheese if you don’t like goat cheese.The salmon plate and the Moroccan chicken are both great.

The food was precisely on time, prices are fair for scratch made food, and the service is super hospitable and kind, welcoming! Unita was particularly a huge help and made sure all modifications to my salad was done so correctly. I am thoroughly impressed, thanks to Unita and to Patrick Smith for the extraordinary service! The cashier was not very friendly and could not answer any of our questions and had an attitude, it was our first time and of course we wanted to ask a few questions. The gentleman that brought our food was kind and quick with what we asked for. Thank you !Food was good but it was a bit cold .Place was clean and it was easy to get around d with the wheelchair.But do not two hours before closing time. They did not have mash potatoes, broccoli or the piece of cake that my husband wanted.

We always order urban plates through Postmates and it has been really delicious. I especially love the chimichurri steak however this time when I ordered the chimichurri steak, it had a fishy smell to it and taste to it. They are now carrying shrimp and salmon and I hope the chef is not using the same tongs to turn everything because now the meat smells like fish and had a funny taste to it. Very disappointing. we wanted to sign up for their monthly pass but after this dinner were deciding maybe not I hope they pass it along to the chef nothings worse than getting the steak and it smells like either shrimp or some type of seafood.

This is such a great place! The food is super great! Great options for vegetarians and vegans. I love the pineapple soda so much! The music they play is soooo great! Food was very good but staff seemed very confused and couldnt get orders correct on multiple occasions. We ordered in, they stated on order it was to go. I requested a different dressing as I cant handle capsaicin in any amount, and they doused salad in jalapeno dressing. And order of a beef sandwich came out as fried chicken strips sandwich. Other plates had all the correct items but in the wrong combinations. I dont know if the order staff doesnt know how to type or spell or the cooking staff doesnt know how to read. The servers who brought the food out were excellent. The food was excellent. The people making or putting in the order was horrible.

I’m consistently impressed with Urban Plates Aliso Viejo! Not only is their team top-notch (special shoutout to Sandy for always being so friendly and so attentive with my orders), but their food is great. I usually stick to a chicken plate, which never disappoints and is healthy, but recently tried their seafood chowder and it’s now a must have in my orders- I love the little kick it has and how much seafood they actually put in.If you have a sweet tooth, their flourless chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies are a must-try. Exceptional service and delicious eats every time. Highly recommend!

Ive been going to this location for many years and only now Im leaving a review. They always offer great and healthy options from Vegan, Gluten Free, and Dairy Free. And the cake (Flourless and Chocolate Vanilla layered cake) is yummy too. Kurt the manager was so generous and so kind and the employees are welcoming. I highly recommend this place.

Ordered Door Dash to our hotel. Ordered chicken and fries with mac & cheese for my kid but there was no option to add ketchup. I called and spoke to an employee on a phone that sounded like they were in a tunnel. He said no problem hed add it to the order. The order came and there was no ketchup. So lame for a kid. The manager said that they couldnt look the order up by name so they told the employee to call me back. He chose to ignore her. The steak was colder than room temp surprisingly because it has the color and texture of being reheated. Mashed potatoes as well. Interesting because the order was .5 miles away and was picked up and delivered immediately. Lame experience for $50.00.

Update: I still really like this place, but again my order was incorrect. I ordered the Ahi Nicoise salad with no eggs and there were eggs in it. It would be nice if they could perhaps pay closer attention when preparing the food. However, the salad was very good after picking out the eggs.Prior review: The food is really good here. Unfortunately, I had a recent issue wherein I purchased the salmon plate, got home, and found slightly pink salmon that was completely raw on the inside and had to cook it myself. However, that was likely a weird off day by someone. I just make sure I check the salmon before heading home now. Otherwise, its always a good experience, and the plate pass is great.

I usually LOVE this place and as usual, I ordered from DoorDash. I ordered their steak salad this time, but replaced the steak with the sea bass as I wanted to try a new menu item.Ugh…. I could not tell the problem right away, since they slather the fish with all sorts of herbs. But you can see in the pictures how completely raw this fish is.And then DoorDash took almost an hour to only offer me a refund. This isn’t about just receiving the wrong order. This is about a restaurant sending out absolutely raw and undercooked, non sushi grade fish.Why would anyone send out food that could cause someone to get really sick? You can see in the picture that only some of the ends were cooked, so I do hope I don’t get sick. Accidents happen, but there is really no excuse for this.But hey, maybe the restaurant wanted to hurry and close to get home on a Saturday night vs taking care of their customers by serving healthy, edible food as advertised. Priorities 🙃

Dont waste your money. Went for a weekday lunch and it was extremely packed with a long line; good sign. You order at the counter and they bring your food to where your sitting... If there were literally any seats. I found two chairs on their patio, no table though. Okay, Im use to food truck eating just wasnt expecting it at a place where the food is actually served on glass plates and actual cutlery without having a spot to put them. Thankfully, kind strangers offered for us to share their table. Additionally, the price is ridiculous for what you get. There is not even a soup or salad on the menu thats under ten dollars. If I cant sit and eat and youre going to charge honestly quite a lot, why wouldnt I just go to Whole Foods get a salad to go thats of equal quality and a lot cheaper? And it may be petty, but they add a 3% surcharge on top of all food orders you make. This place just takes advantage of the health conscioused. Ordered the sea bass and it was mid at best. Do NOT waste your money. Go to Wahoos in the same shopping center if you want a piece of fish, cheaper and infinitely better.

Finally tried this place after a recommendation from my hairdresser and its so good. I had the grass fed steak with carrot/beet combo and the brussel sprouts with turkey bacon. I dont really like either but since Im trying to eat more veggies I ordered some. Both sides were surprisingly delicious and so was the steak which was cooked medium rare and all were well seasoned. The star of the meal for me (since I love dessert) was the mango tart which was not sweet and mushy but firm and tart which is the only way Ill eat mangos. I know I will be stopping by there for meals and of course slices of the tart to take home 🤗

I can eat anything of the menu knowing that it will be fresh and that it will taste really good.Their plates always look vibrant and thats thanks to the variety in their menu.The restaurant itself looks very modern and their outdoor seating is always clean and at room temperature, as they have heaters outside running when its cold.Their service its unmatched, always friendly and courteous, and if there is anything wrong with your order or food, they are there to make it right.Their juice bar Urban Replenishers is a really great option for those looking to drink healthier things. The green super food is one of their best sellers since they make them all from scratch. Ive tried all of them and they are all equally good, it really depends on what your mood is, I found that I can always drink the cantaloupe/mango and also the green tea, those are my two favs.If they had a rewards program, it would be amazing, I know I would take advantage of it.They also sell alcohol. But Im not a big drinker.Bring your family, friends or even coworkers. This is a really great place to eat.Tip: if you order the chimichurri steak, have the chimichurri sauce on the side and not on the top, if they put it on the top... by the time you sit at your table your steak will be cold, their chimichurri sauce its served very cold.

We tried Urban Plates tonight and it was awesome! The food was great! We chose the “plates” line rather than the salad or sandwiches line. You can choose from delicious meats like steak, chicken, sea bass, salmon, and turkey meatloaf. Then you get a choice of two delicious sides! Yum! Sometimes youre really hungry, but its too hot to eat a heavy meal. This is your place. The air is cool, the atmosphere is fresh. People are mellow and service is friendly. Love the Big Green juice served here; its delivered in a Mason jar mug no less and is more savory than sweet. Any salad/sandwich is top notch, but I love the Mixed Beet Salad or the steak sandwich the best. This is THE secret sweet spot when youre not sure of what you want to eat. Settle in with wooden furnishings, outdoor patio seating, and a great beer and wine menu.

First time to Urban Plates. Went for fathers day and had the Moroccan Chicken Braise. The pluses are: good amount of chicken and no fat on the chicken which I like. The detractors: didnt care for the taste and the rice was below average.Also, the server that brought us our plates didnt smile or say anything other than the names of the plates. I would expect the server to be more pleasant than that.

This place is all about freshness, taste, and great ingredients. Presentation is top notch, taste equals to the higher priced dinner experience, outside seating is available. Three of us ate here for dinner. Two of us had steak and one had shrimp. Sides included brussel sprouts mashed potatoes and I cant remember what other people had. The steak was excellent although not very hot. The mashed potatoes seem to be real which is excellent, but they also were not very hot. The only real complaint I have is about the Brussels sprouts. They are advertised as having turkey bacon. Its Southern California so I get it but I would expect more fat out of it. Also they mixed in onions or something else in that completely changed the flavor. While I like brussel sprouts I did not care for these brussel sprouts.Still I would definitely recommend this place

On August 26, 2023 (while on our family trip to Laguna from Palm Springs California) we decided to visit Ubran Plates solely based on the great customer reviews via google. We were absolutely floored by the service level of their fabulous staff members and delicious dishes. Sitlali, Unita, and the young gal at the register (wish I had collected her name) were just wonderful! My dinning experience at UP was phenomenal. They’ve got loads of healthy options to choose from; GF, DF, Vegetarian and Vegan. A hearty variety of sides that you can experiment with and an excellent selection of grass-fed, cafe-free, and sustainable protein options which are hard to find easily these days. The are a few things I absolutely LOVE from here. If your craving that home cooked meal for $10 I would recommend the brassed beef n mushrooms/ mashed potatoes. It’s so good! There side dishes like the caramelized carrots and the Brussel sprouts with bacon also amazing. If you order only sides dishes get 3 cause you technically gettin 3-$10. The Aliso Viejo location has really great service was spot on. David was super helpful, awesome service 🤩and if you have a sweet tooth there dessert menu 😋I recommend the mango tart if your looking for something light - they always use sweet fresh mango slices and between each slice there is this perfect light rum cream. This location uses to be great maybe 2 to 3 years ago but now its terrible. Prices have increased while quality has dive bombed. Ordered to go chimchurri steak w/ mash potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts were good, but the mashed potatoes can be sucked through a straw and the steak was too tough to slice through with the plastic knife and a real steak knife from home. What a waste of $22. They have been consistently getting worse for a while now and seems to only the aliso viejo town center location.

Urban Plates seems to be a healthier, unique and organic version of a Sizzler. You purchase a meal but it’s cafeteria style. Meaning, you get to see all the options and select from what’s available. Their beverages are especially unique and organic. One that I particularly like is the blueberry soda.
