Delicious fried chicken. Simple and hits the spot. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I am not a spice fanatic and opted for the mild crispy fried chicken. The skin was light and crispy as advertised with a sweet glaze. Will be back to try more.

Not impressed with the food. I ordered the 6 piece boneless roast oven chicken lunch special. The chicken was slimy and had no flavor. Maybe other items are better but I dont feel like trying this place again.

I highly recommend this place! Weve ordered half of the crispy chicken legs and half of the crunchy chicken legs....and the clear winner is the crispy chicken legs. Its more flavorful and more juicier compared to the crunchy one, with a slightly less amount of batter, which is just about right. The flavor has a slight sweet glaze under the batter, so it wont affect the crispiness of the fried chicken. If you are a fried chicken lover, you have to give it a try!!! This is probably the best fried chicken in the bay area.
Amazing fried chicken with the best, earth-shaking crunch! Order ahead if you dont want to wait 15-20 minutes in person for take-away because this place gets super busy with online orders.My favorites are crunchy chicken and crispy yangnyeom chicken. I feel like the saucey fried chicken plates get tastier the next day. I always pick up in person myself to ensure I get it while its hot instead of waiting on delivery (plus the restaurant gets to keep more of their profits).
Very solid kfc (korean fried chicken)! It pretty much gives some of the larger national chains such as Bonchon a run for their money. The flavors are extensive enough that they can be tailored to each persons palette needs.
The chicken is delicious. We had the crispy chicken, Garlic Chicken and the spicy chicken and it was bomb. We also got the Kimchi rice which was great. The young man named Devin was very friendly and the kindest person. I highly recommend this place.

We had a huge party and they were able to accommodate us fairly quickly. The food was really good. Normally after i eat chicken im not in a rush to get another bite for a couple weeks. I wanted to be hungry again because the flavor of the garlic fried chicken was AMAZING! Definitely recommended.
Arrived 8:55, was told dine in is no longer available. Ordered takeout for 1 item.A lot of employees in the kitchen, no other customers, but nothing came out until 9:15 (still waiting now). Now I know why we cannot dine in while it’s supposed to open until 9:30

Not bad for a little hole in the wall. Chicken was both crispy and also contained meat rather than all batter. Flavor was awesome. Tried the crispy fried chicken and the crispy garlic. Kimchi friend rice was so so. Id go back for sure to try all the other chicken flavors

Thats just a few.They prepare and cook your chicken to order so youre always getting a fresher meal. That being said, be prepared to wait a little longer than usual for your delicious chicken.. So call ahead!! Take out and outdoor seating.

Been here many many times and love the fried chicken. The red one is hot. Even medium could be hot for some people. But totally worth it.

Edit: the following still stands. I think their food is tasty. But they have all the problems of a new place. Messing up orders is not uncommon, but the staff should do better on the phone and they should make up for their mistakes. My suggestion is think twice about going during the rush. And double check your order before you leave.Korean chicken is an artform. And its great to see this place in Redwood City. I tried their most basic basic chicken to see if they could do it right. It did not disappoint. Will definitely return and try the other items on the menu.
Meat was good but they put so little powder on honey and cheddar chicken (both full size). It was to go order so we even bought additional powder for each flavor but even the extra podwer was so little and barely tasted any cheddar or honey taste. Sunnyvale branch is much better.
Delicious fried chicken!!! Tip: Order CRISPY if you want potato chip like crispy skin. Order CRUNCH if you want less crispness. Fries are great (even take out but you know its not fair to judge unless its on-site)... For that reason, I snuck in a couple under my mask (its 21 now and we under COVID) on the way back to car…solid crispy fries!!! Enjoy…cheers!!!
Best Korean Fried Chicken, definitely at the top of my list (so far)! And Im so glad that its just a few minutes away from me.I recommend ordering ahead online (albeit wait time is ~30mins) and then just dropping by to pick up. Although depending on the time you go, order there only took about 20mins when it wasnt too busy.My favorite to order is the Crispy Fried Chicken (has soy garlic glaze) medium spicy, as well as the Honey Butter Fried Chicken! The Honey Butter Fries are not bad, but its quite on the expensive side for fries.What I do like about this location of Vons compared to others, is that the let you pick spicy level (mild, medium, spicy, extra spicy..), whereas I dont think the other Vons has those options.Updated as of 2/18/22:I think the prices went up a bit since the last time I was here!The standard now for a half order either: 5 drums, 10pc boneless, or combo (3 drums, 4 wings). If you pay $2 extra for Wings 10pcs, you get smaller drums and wings.I used to order drums only and they were huge drums, but I dont recall if it was only 5 drums for a half order. I feel like it might have been more, but I could be wrong.. Either way, ~$16 for a half order of 5 drums is now a little steep for me!I had a half order of Crispy Fried Chicken (Wings), and half order of Crispy Fried Honey Butter (Wings), and it was about $40. Id say, if you dont want the typical chain chicken restaurants (i.e. Popeyes, KFC, Churches, Jollibee) that has to go by a standard recipie, this is a great place for unique style of fried chicken varieties. NONE of the chain style chicken restaurants has cheese flavored fried chicken!!!
The best place in Redwood City to get fried chicken. They have different flavors, but crispy yang-nyum one is the best one! Japchae is also good here.
First time trying Vons with my three picky children. They all enjoyed the food!! My six year old that never eats had two pieces of chicken. We will definitely be going back.
Their chicken is one of the best fried chicken Ive had in the Bay Area. Its hard to find any good Korean chicken unless you go down to San Jose but Im happy they opened a place up here.
The fried chicken is pretty legit. The meat is juicy. The breading is thin, yet holds its crunch even 1+ hr later.
Good chicken, prefer the fried versus the baked/roasted...but thats my preference. Definitely go with the sweet butter fries.
This should be called Crack Chicken. It is so addictive. I used to be a fan of Bon Chon, but this blows them away. I love the Crunchy version with sauce on the side. The spicy garlic is incredible. My mouth is watering as I type this. Its been two weeks since my last fix, so I need more--- TODAY!!
Very fresh chicken, decent sauces, but barely any salt on the chicken sadly made the chicken not tasty at all. Overall a very unsatisfying fried chicken experience. Nice staff though!

Vons is delicious! We’ve gotten the same Crispy Padak, Crispy Yangnyeom and Crispy honey butter order 4 times in the past few months because it’s too good to pass up.

I consider a place 5 stars when I really LOVE the food and crave it from time to time. Vons Chicken is definitely a place I crave frequently. The chicken is so good! I really like to order the Yangnyum (spicy), its REALLY spicy and very good. The chicken is not dry. I prefer to order when they have the lunch special because it only comes with 4 pieces of chicken and for me that is perfect. The fried batter was exceptionally seasoned and perfectly crispy. Can’t imagine a better pairing than with some cold beers (which they have!).

This place focuses on packing immense amounts of flavor into every bite.The hot Crispy Yangnyeom Chicken tastes like your taste buds are being interrogated by officers Sweet and Heat doing a good cop, bad cop routine. It was a brutal, grueling experience, and I loved every minute. Tears in my eyes, chugging my water, I would have said anything for another bite of that fiery chicken.The paired pickled radish does an excellent job of neutralizing the heat if it gets to be too much.The honey butter fries were very unique, and I was so glad I tried them. The sweet paired well, and I kept reaching for one more.Service was good, and they ensured I had plenty of water to slake my thirst.

2021-06-01 16:36:06Extremely good fried chicken that is cooked to order. Plan on a 25-30 minute wait for your order, but well worth it. Best take-out fried chicken I have found in the Bay Area. The onion rings were excellent as well. Plus, the staff take the extra measure to carefully box your order so that it stays crispy when you get it home. I have to travel 20 minutes to get home from my local Vons location and my order was still hot and crispy when I arrived!

I’ve tried a good chunk of the menu but always return to the crispy fried chicken and japchae — the light soy garlic glaze on this one is imo much better than the garlic chicken which gets a bit soggy with the thick sauce. A full order of chicken is perfect for 3 people, whereas a half always feels like too much for 1 but not quite enough for 2 unless you get more sides.The lunch special is also a great deal!

The chicken was super crispy and delicious! I did like the honey flavor more but its personal preference. I went during COVID and the restaurant has a small outdoor seating area that isnt monitored (first come first serve) but it wasnt busy at all when I went for dinner time on Friday night.
