We love Wasabi! Great local sushi and great prices! The service is always good. I highly recommend starting with the house salad, the dressing is amazing. We always put lemon juice in our soy sauce, you just have to ask for lemon wedges. If you haven’t tried lemon soy sauce, friend, you are missing out. So we come here all the time for sushi BUT it is upsetting that I paid almost 120 Dlls i checked my bag and noticed I didnt get any spicy mayo or eel sauce I asked to get some and she rolled her eyes then to only get 2 spicy mayo and 2 eel sauce. I asked for more and she said she had to charge me and I said okay then I asked her why if it was two of each and that it wasnt enough for my dinner. I get it when they charge for extra but this wasnt extra.

Our server was nice! I just had a surplus of bones in my salmon. Like so many. And the scallops had a sour taste. But other than that it was sushi. The miso soup was GOOD.

As soon as I walked in I saw how dirty was everything I got very disgusted because the floor was very sticky and it was barely 1 pm and there was rice under our table and it was not busy. I still stayed because I did not wanted to judge just because of that but when they brought the menus OMG THATS WHEN I DECIDED NOT TO EAT A FULL MEAL, the menus where soooo dirty and stained and sticky ! I never seen this at a restaurant I just had to eat bc I was with my family and didn’t want to ruin the moment.The desserts had a LOT OF STRAWBERRY JELLY! Which it made them taste awful. If you order dessert ask for jelly on the side.Food was not flavorful, but most importantly restaurant was not clean and the service was not great either, I’m sorry I don’t like this type of reviews but I had to leave this review for other ppl to not be disappointed.

Came here on a Groupon coupon my wife got, we did not expect the lunch menu to be so good. The Sashimi platter was great, every cut of fish was done perfectly. The two rolls we got were very good as well with the Spider Roll taking the prize especially the end roll with the extra soft shell crab legs.Service was great, and the music was good to boot.Definitely coming back here and suggest anyone looking for a sushi fix to come and enjoy.Will take more photos and update this next time.

Even after requesting glass, we were denied yet the next patrons received it. We only ordered sushi here. It was good but not super impressed. It didnt seem like they flavored the rice and it was slightly dry? My family member has a sensitivity capsaicin sensitivity and this place uses a lot of spicy tuna. So if thats you thing, this is the place.I did smell a lot of delicious fried food coming out of the kitchen. Didnt get to see what it was though...

Hard to find good sushi places lately, but this one did not disappoint for me whatsoever. Definitely will come back when I can... Hopefully that is soon. I recommend the Vista roll. It was my favorite and will most likely stay that way. Staff are also very friendly and for being outside right now, the tables and service are very well maintained.

First of all this place has great sushi. But it really just depends on who’s making it and the workers who are serving you. When we first got here we had to seat ourselves because we were waiting for 15 minutes to get a table and there were clearly 3 clean tables. Then when we got our miso soups THEY WERE ALL WATER! Tasted like pure water with barley and flavor.Tasted terrible. We asked for another one but we never received it. On top of that the sushi did not taste fresh at all. It tasted very bland. We used to come here a lot but that was most likely our last time do to this experience.

Ive eaten here a couple times and got a Groupon. Called one night to see if we had to eat in person, which we did. The gal, Kate, was super nice on the phone and said shed be there when we came to eat the following day. She was a great server and my partner loved their food. So glad we got the Groupon and had a wonderful experience.

Pretty decent Japanese food. The staff always seems so busy though and werent the friendliest.We went there with a Groupon. But apparently they have a lot of their own discounts going on and they cannot be stacked with Groupon. A lot of them were half off sushi rolls. So Id say you would be okay with it without Groupon.

We only picked this place b/c We had a gift card... I hadnt heard of this place otherwise. We went in at 845 (hrs online say close at 9:30), staff seemed slightly annoyed. There werent ANY other customers when we got there.On the menu it says one page of rolls was 50% off. They tried to tell me that didnt apply with my to-go order. I was told because it would be soggy by the time we got home I responded with I guess thats my problem, correct? What does that have to do with if I get the discount or not? They allowed us to get the 50% off at that point. They were done making our food in about 10 mins, we spent 75$ on food + 5$ tonboth chefs and the host guy. I felt like one of the chefs looked at the amount of a tip as a joke or not enough... :/There were a few rolls that were pretty good (scorpion, a roll with cream cheese and a jalapeno slice on top, and the crunchy roll.) One roll that has spicy tuna inside and some fish on top was absolutely DISGUSTING!!! Out of 6 people that tried it, no one enjoyed it! 3 of the 6 spit it out, or felt sick after trying it! So we would NOT suggest that roll!! We should have tried dessert! It looked good on the menu pictures!We will be going back again next time we want sushi. :)

I received a Groupon as a gift $60 promotional value ($35 face value).1st time we went there (3 of us) we ordered a lot of food to make sure we hit the $60 value (bill was around $80-100). The food was decent but service was slow. Once the check came in, they wouldnt let us use the Groupon because it had a *min of 4 people requirement in fine print - even though we ordered a TON of food enough for 4-5 people.We just went again last night (2nd time) to use the Groupon - at this time, the promotional value had expired, so we wanted to at least use face value (amount paid) of $35, this time there were 6 of us.Service again was slow, and the food was subpar for the prices. The menu has a 50% off rolls everyday section, which makes the $18 caterpillar roll better sounding at $9.When ordering, I asked the waiter if they had a kids menu. He insisted they didnt, at which point my friend mentioned she saw a kids menu section on the menu. The waiters response was We dont have a kids menu, we have a kids meal .. when asked about the difference between a kids meal and a kids menu, he started mumbling and didnt give us a reasonable response.Comes the bill, we give the waiter the Groupon and we were notified that if we use the Groupon, we couldnt use the 50% off rolls promotion .. even though we were doing the Groupon at face value and not promotional value. Overall, we saved $2 on the final out of pocket by using the Groupon. How does this make sense??Oh! And on top of it, since our party was 6 (4 adults 2 kids), the waiter automatically charged us 20% tip (when their website says its 18%)Anyway, long winded way to say we will not be going there again. Go there if you want to pay for overpriced subpar rolls with mediocre service.

Food was inedible. The salmon tasted old and off. I tried reaching out with no answer. I got super sick. This is the 2nd time this has happened with them. The fish is not fresh. The avocado was brown. The cucumber was sour and mooshy. The tempura was soggy. I got it on door dash but Im only 3 miles away, it was definitely not the dashers fault.

We often bring our dogs to nearby South Buena Vista Park (excellent off-leash dog park) and were in the mood for sushi. I’m so glad we stopped here! The food was very fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. And the service was terrific - we had a very responsive and friendly waitress, Rosa, even as we ate at one of the small outside tables.

We have been going for quite a while giving this place business. Well this evening it was just the two of us and there were 3 empty table of 4 andtwo tables for 2. The waitress said we can only sit at the table for 2.Which the tables for 2 were right in front of the open front door which it was a cold breeze coming in. I ask if we could get a table out of the wind and she said NO we are saving for potential customer of 4 coming in.I said you have 3 already cant you at least let us have one. Edit: After going here June 2021, my review has changed significantly.First of all, the last time we were there, we were told they were not taking groupons during the pandemic. No problem, we will take them after they expire. Oh, ok. So we went back a few days ago. The normal young waitress was not working. It was an older dark haired woman. She lied and told us she owned the place. She wouldnt honor our groupon because we had to have 4 people there, when our 4th was home studying for finals and we were ordering his food to go and bring home, so nobody was getting cheated. She said no, he has to be here in the seat. Everybody wants small business to bounce back after the pandemic, but to have staff lie and claim they are the owner when they are NOT, then not honor our groupon because we were taking a portion to go, was not in the spirit of post pandemic culture. The sushi quality has also declined and prices have went up. There are other MUCH better sushi restaurants. Go elsewhere.old review:Fast service, great groupon, great sushi.

NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN… tried calling to correct my order and complain many many many times. Cannot get through. Chicken overcooked and sauce congealed and rice is cold…. Got absolutely wrecked here a few weeks ago. Their sake bombs are no joke. They give you a very generous amount of alcohol. The eating area is relatively plain and undecorated but they make up for it with delicious food and drinks. The server was friendly and fast. Will definitely be coming back.

Wow, excellent service !. It was my first time there, I read the Google reviews so i was 50/50 whether to go here. Im glad I did, the staff was great and very attentive. The food was delicious and the presentation did not fall short of the description.The staff were open to conversations as well as the history of this place. I will definitely be frequenting this establishment. Being in close proximity of my business, I will be bringing in my special clients to this location for lunch or dinner.To the owner and the staff, Excellent job, youve won over a new customer.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service at this place is unbelievingly awful, at best. No eye contact when you enter and no one acknowledges you are there or seats you. There were two waitresses who walked past us numerous times as well as the sushi chefs, and after five minutes of just standing there, we seated ourselves as did the other four parties arriving after us. The servers there literally acted like we were an imposition. Don’t expect a thank you on your way out, either, unless you are a regular as the waitstaff fell over themselves waiting on them. MANAGER/OWNER: Start reading your reviews—all of the negative reviews for the past two or three years are due to bad customer service, but it appears you don’t care.

The staff here are always so welcoming and attentive. This place gets pretty packed and when that happens the staff get stretched thin. My favorite rolls are vista and the hot momma. I also enjoy eating the spicy garlic edamame.

Hard to give an accurate review as I ordered dinner via DoorDash from Wasabi. Id order differently if at the restaurant. Some food doesnt travel as well. However, I enjoyed the few basic things I did order and thats a good sign. It was nice that they didnt send the cheapest soy sauce out either as other places have. Ok, so we wavered on checking out Wasabi when we spied those two or three negative reviews... but am so glad we took the risk anyway and got to enjoy an awesome meal! The quality of their udon noodles and dashi (broth) reminded me so much of the one I used to get every week while studying in Kyoto, and our server *completely* hooked it up for us with a slight variation of the spicy hamachi roll on the menu (wow, that chili oil...). The wakame seaweed salad was delicious as well, and even the unassuming little bottle of hot sake left us both impressed. ごちそうさまでした🙏🏽✨

Under new management but both the old and the new had some of the best sushi I ever had and I lived in Japan for several years. The windows need a little tinting because its too bright during lunch and its not the best decorated but I rather have great food and not have the runs the next day like from other (most) sushi places.

This is, absolutely, the most terrible Sushi place I have EVER been to. First off, the hostess just handed me a piece of paper with the names of the rolls on it. I understand that most rolls are the same wherever you go, but THEY HAD MENUS, she just didnt give me one. Second, I didnt even get my water until AFTER my roll had come out. The guy that worked behind the bar (maybe the owner) was so completely rude. It was shocking. I was asking questions about the different rolls and he was so mean to me about it. My co-worker and I both ordered a California roll, and then we ordered a Dynamite roll to share. The California roll was fine, but when we got the Dynamite, we were both in disgust. It was not a roll whatsoever. It was literally a pile of mush on a plate covered with foil, with cheese baked on top. It was not a roll at all. When we asked the guy about it, he got MAD. Um, excuse me? Its a Dynamite ROLL that we ordered not a pile of fish thrown in a toaster. He immediately told the hostess to go get our checks. The man literally kicked us out of the place, for being unsatisfied. I still cant believe how rude he was. That is no way to run a business. Not one thats going to make it, anyway. And to top it off, the place was filthy, the walls and counters were dirty, it was awful.I went out of my comfort zone, and decided to try something else (other than Loveboat sushi in San Marcos - BEST EVER) and I will NEVER and I repeat NEVER go there again.

Great quality sushi. A bit pricey depending on what you order. There many tempura fried (unhealthy) varieties, but if you are health conscious, their japanese salads are great! I chose the sashimi roll, which is mostly raw protein and has no rice. That roll is the bomb!

Awesome place good sushi ive been here a lot its my go to spot, they have unique rolls that always impress i always want extra ginger and wasabi and it is never a issue both fresh also the sushi is always cool never warm and slimy like some places !super important to me!, also of you like cool reggea music... this place is great for that and the vibe will turn a first date into a second, sometimes service can be a little slow outside but i only experience that during covid.

Have been to Wasabi a few times and the food is generally good. On a recent visit though we were quite put off by the red table cloth on the table that was not changed between guests and was quite stained. I would suggest that Wasabi do away with the table cloths if you cannot change them for each diner because of cost and use a simple parchment paper that is changed for each new diner. Stained table cloths are disgusting. Before ordering, we changed tables but probably will not return.

I dont know how this place could possibly get a bad review. The service is always above par, the sushi is delicious (I am Japanese and very picky), and the restaurant is clean. The sushi chefs always greet you and thank you as you leave. I frequent this sushi bar at least once a week and I have never left disappointed. I made a point to review Wasabi, as I think other reviews are unfairly biased.

The waitress was nice but seem distracted. I ordered the Bento Box with salmon. Miso soup was part of the Bento Box. The waitress totally forgot to bring the Miso soup. She just brought the Bento Box without the soup. We had to ask for the soup. Im not sure why. But thats not how is done. The piece of salmon that I got was unevenly slice. One side was overcooked. The other was normal. I guess the restaurant was trying to save their overhead cost. Again the waitress was preoccupied with something else. We had to asked for more water and ginger. We would be better of going to the sushi bar.
