Buta Japanese Ramen
5201 Linda Vista Rd ste.103, San Diego, CA 92110, United States
How did I just discovered Buta Japanese Ramen? Wow. This place was such a solid find tonight. Out of all the ramen restaurants in San Diego, Buta definitely deserves a spot as one of the citys top ramen shops. This place definitely has a neighborhood and relaxed vibe. Spacious and modern. You could feel that this place gets a ton of repeat patrons and/or locals. I got the Crazy Garlic Ramen and I was a big fan. It had a ton of flavor, was absolutely delicious and arrived piping hot. The trifecta. The best part of my bowl was definitely the chashu, which is probably the best in all of San Diego, and yes, thats a huge statement. It was well seasoned and smoked to perfection. There was a tad bit more fat than Id like, but the flavor more than made up for it. The soft boiled egg, noodles and other toppings were okay - nothing to write home about, but they werent bad.My partner got the Tahini Old School, which he preferred more than my bowl. I begged to differ, lol, and preferred mines more.Overall, I would definitely add Buta Japanese Ramen to your rotation, if youre in the nearby area and are looking to try out a new place. The staff was also more than helpful at all times - super attentive and thorough - constantly checking on us and keeping our drinks filled. They even allowed me to customize the firmness of my noodles, which was greatly appreciated. We were in and out in a very reasonable time. Great job, Buta! Yall are crushing it.
New Tokyo Restaurant

This place is a really solid, excellent, simple Japanese restaurant. All of the food is excellent and is priced more cheaply than a lot of other places! My first choice for Japanese in the area! Seating is limited so try not to go during rush periods. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

I love this place so much, we live down the street walking distance. The food was great the guys working were very nice and welcoming. We could tell they were new so our food took a little long to get, I was understanding of that. What I did not appreciate was the owner just looking over his workers and telling them whats wrong. He couldve stepped in and helped, model the work for them. I had ordered the crunchy roll and it took an hour to get, our original server had taken it to a different table so I had to wait longer. At the end, another server, (he seemed like he was training our server) took care of the bill he said he would take the crunchy roll out, I didnt ask him to but it was a nice gesture. When the bill came it had the crunchy roll and when I asked him, I thought you said youd take it off the owner came up to us and said they dont normally do that because its a restaurant and situations happen. I then responded, The server said he would take it off, I waited a long time and it got taken to a different table. He then started talking a different language with the server who got my bill and I could only think he was badmouthing me. I explained to the young server, We love your food its amazing, it seems there are new people so I understand the turn around time is not ideal. He said thank you and also seemed nervous afterward, dont know if he got in trouble for taking the item off of our bill. I still left them a good tip. My intention is not to badmouth the guys working. I appreciated all of them and again the food was well worth it. We would come back again, hopefully then the service will be more efficient. But the owner...he was not nice, did not seem nice to his workers and not understanding. Maybe other people take advantage, we were not trying to take advantage. Kudos to the team serving, making the food, taking phone orders. No hard feelings, you guys are awesome!
MIKKO SUSHI
330 Main St, Vista, CA 92084, United States
This Japanese restaurant was AMAZING! I love good sushi, and I have several restaurants I love, but Mikko Sushi impressed me far above the others. We had dinner with the grandparents in honor or my sons promotion. We got several kinds of sushi rolls as well as a plate of chicken teriyaki, a bowl of chicken teriyaki, and the kids plate of beef teriyaki. Everything I tried was amazing. (I opt out of shellfish, so I didnt try the things with shrimp. I even tried a tempura sushi roll for the first time. I prefer the more traditional raw sushi, but the tempura roll was good too. Your taste buds will be delighted if you dine here.
Kokage Ramen and Sushi

What a find!!! Who knew such a high quality, yet inexpensive Japanese restaurant existed in this shopping center??!!This place had been bookmarked since they opened to rave reviews. Yet, with my own self-isolation in place, I figured now would be a good time to order for delivery. The restaurant specializes in ramen and sushi, though there are many other items on the menu. I placed my order planning for four meals, and sure enough, not only was the quality excellent, but the food was perfectly and gorgeously presented, in the to go containers, just as one would expect in a Tokyo restaurant.I ordered: Salmon skin roll, Vista roll w eel, Seaweed salad, Chicken Korage (Japanese fried chicken), Teriyaki Chicken, and a vegetable-based noodle dish called Yakisoba with the addition supplement of chicken (NOTE: this is not a regular menu item). I also ordered the special Nigori Sake.Though I live 35 minutes south of the restaurant, the hot dishes arrived still warm, and did not require any reheating. With all the condiments provided, we were able to indulge in our sushi and Japanese delicacies without delay. All delicious, and most reasonably priced!!!We so enjoyed our meals and will look forward to another order in the near future!!
Isushi - All You Can Eat
945 Otay Lakes Rd, Chula Vista, CA 91913, United States
August 27, my husband and I were looking for Japanese Restaurant that we have never been and closed proximity to where we lived --- to have a nice dinner after a long day of work, Alas! We found the I Sushi across from Southwestern College in Chula Vista. We got seated right away next to the entrance door, and as soon as we got seated, a server (I could be wrong, but you can recognize people that can ruin your day) asked us for our drinks, and we went ahead and ordered our main course as well. After about 10 minutes or more, my husband food was served but still no drinks. As he was waiting for our server to come back, she never did and not once said anything the status of our drinks and food and why it was taking it so long. We patiently waited for our drinks for approximately 8 minutes.I told my husband to ask another server to get our drinks. Oh yeah, at that time I was still waiting for my appetizer. As I was looking around I noticed the sushi chef had finished making my Sushi but still sitting top at the sushi counter --- I thought to myself I can get up and grab it, but I patiently waited for a server to deliver our meal, but she never grab my order, so I asked the other waiter to help us out. The first waiter who supposed to be our server never came back to our table and never told us what was going on and why she stop serving us. She completely ignored us. So, when I got my main course, my husband had finished his sushi rolls and still no drinks. So, I have to ask again about his order and yes, my appetizer (shrimp tempura), you can tell the moment it got to our table that these orders were sitting at the kitchen waiting for the waiter to be picked up and to be served to us. My appetizer that supposed to be there first was not crispy, and it was cold and saggy.I told the waiter to send it back in the kitchen. We finished our meal, but I will not let her (server) to ruin my night. I got my check and still leave 20% tips to the other waiter who helped us out. Also, thanks to him, he decided to comp my tempura. I hope the management will do something about her (waiter with the long hair) that is not willingly cooperating and lack of respect for others. I will stop come back to the restaurant because I do believe on second chances.
Teriyaki Grill
380 3rd Ave B, Chula Vista, CA 91910, United States
Been here once before years ago but that mustve been under different management or employees. It was cool the 1st time. I went the other day, ordered and waited for over 30 mins for my food. The employees spent more time chatting & having fun than actually waiting on customers. When the food came out, it was as cold as ice but when asked, the waiter said the sauce made the meat cold but Im pretty sure it was the 30 min wait- this is my first time ever being served a cold taco and it was pretty gross- I wanted to walk tf out... but stayed and gave them another chance. The crabcakes were pretty soft & mushy, unlike the crispy description. And the gyoza was covered in this nasty, yellow, mustardy sauce- Im sure it wouldve been good if they put the sauce on the side. I definitely wont be back again. Also, the pictures of sushi are of a different restaurant. This Japanese joint has NO sushi but they have Korean beef...so expect korean food from this Japanese place
ICHIBAN RAMEN AND SUSHI
3265 Business Park Dr C, Vista, CA 92081, United States
We started coming to this restaurant since the day they opened. It is the best ramen place in the Vista area in our opinion. It is very delicious, the portions are generous, the restaurant is clean, and the service is usually good. The only reason I cant give it a full five stars, is because of their menu change. They used to have delicious pork belly appetizers, and build your own ramen that was very convenient, and you could have side order of chasu pork. That menu made them stand out from all the generic Japanese restaurants in Vista.I really miss that pork belly.

Great good, moderate service and poor atmosphere. Why Great Food ???Just eat the following and Judege1. Shadow Bridge Sushi.Yumm, nicely presented with shrimp tempura, cucumber topped w/ avocado, diced soft shell crab mixed with spicy mayo, eel sauce. Mouthwatering...yes.2. Chicken KatsuIf you like Indian food, you will like this. This Katsu reminded me the Potato curry my wife cooks, with deep fried chicken w/rice and salad3. Bento Box: Biggest box I have seen in any Japanese Restaurant. Why moderate service ???Forced smile from the waiter and behave like Robots. Nothing wrong absolutely, but missing the passion. Could improve. Why Poor Atmosphere ???Seating arrangement is horrible. Out of 10 seating tables, 3 faces Kitchen sink with people walking in and out. 2 Of them very close to the door, my back side was frozen. 1 blocking the restroom door.Few Sushi table chairs, awkwardly placed. Please re-arrange them and remove few tables. If you fix this Interior and Service, you are a 5 star. I will come back again for sure, just for Shafow Bridge Sushi ?PS: Out door have only 2 chairs and one table, Dogs are OK outside.
