Defintely one of my favorite korean restaurant. Their banchan never disappoint! Each item is delish. Most korean restaurants have about 5-7, YD has 14 and over the past 3years, the amount stayed the same. It gets busy on the weekend esp for dinner. Their food does come in bigger portion, so despite the price it is worth it.

Delicious food and good customer service, however everyone have to order a dish for small dish refills. Tofu soup is good but the soup is not enough. I would recommend this location for authentic Korean food but i would also recommend come during lunch for their lunch price.

Pretty busy during dinner hours. My date and I had to squish between two other parties. The food was good! We had the seafood tofu soup, which is a staple here. The side dishes were some of the best Ive had. Service wasnt the greatest as it was busy, and they messed up one of our orders. It is on the pricey side given the portions they serve. Its definitely a spot to return to once in a while.

Tried out YD Tofu House for my first time!We had a large beer to share. I had the beef soondubu and my friend had the cheese soondubu.The tofu stews were all good. Standard.Staff was ok. It was a bit weird the first time around...they only let me refill 5 of the banchan, but later, another server, refilled them all.I enjoyed their banchan! Tasted fresh.Parking available in the plaza.

Always a delight to come here. The side dishes are great along with their entrees. I live on the other side of town so dont get a chance to visit regularly. Just found out they expanded the seating area so youre not pushed in tight and the atmosphere is much more pleasant. Hoping to make it back soon.

It doesnt look like much from the outside but the dining area is clean and spacious.We shared the fried chicken and beef bulgogi. Chicken was crisp and flavorful but the bulgogi was outstanding, delicious and tender. Side dishes are ample in variety and serving.A great restaurant to introduce yourself to Korean cuisine. I will definitely return.

Probably the best Korean place in the Sacramento area. They give many many side dishes and unlimited refills. Definitely come here if you have a Korean craving you need to satisfy

Honestly the best Korean food I’ve ever had! They give you so many side dishes and the entrées are absolutely amazing! And the owners are beyond helpful and always cheery! I suggest getting the rock bowl it’s to die for! They have a wide selection of sake and soggy. This is a great place to take friends or family. I highly recommend going anytime of the week.

Loved eating at this Korean restaurant. Lots of delicious foods selection to choose from. I especially loved their seafood tofu soup - spicy of course. All their BBQ items such as the teriyaki chicken, short ribs, and beef are also very delicious. I especially loved their small appetizers items. I can literally ate those items and be full. But can resist ordering more foods.Customer service is excellent, waitress constantly bringing appetizers as we finished them. Filled our waters without the need to ask, and always checking on use if we need anything.Highly recommend this place.

Busy Friday so I get it. It feels awful when the server forgets about you. We were the first party to be seated out of 4. We ordered 3 dishes. First dish came, then we waited for more than 20 minutes until a server came and tell us it’d be 5 more minutes. If it was truly busy I’d be fine to wait. BUT When I looked around all the other people who came after got theirs. This means 3-6 dishes were made before ours despite us being the first. Some were even ready to go. One waiter even thought we were waiting for the bill. We sat there staring into space and looking at others eat their food. Literally at that point eating the side dishes. We cancelled the rest after having spent so long waiting. Since we have 5 people; gratuity was added which I feel strongly about after having experienced the above. I would have tipped if we got our food despite the poor to okay service. Extremely frustrating. Apologies were given but at whose expense? :(

The side dishes they give you at the beginning is my favorite. The rice is amazingly sticky. The food is a bit pricey but well worth it. The staff is kind and helpful. Always good food when we come here. We always go for the beef short rib, hits the spot every time and the onioned that they lay the meat on is 👌. I enjoy the tofu soup too. I look forward to branching out and trying their other dishes Im not familiar with. 😽

TLDR: awesome service and delicious food!We stopped by coming back down from Reno and were craving some hot food. The workers are super friendly and efficient. We ordered tofu soups and the house chicken. The homemade bonchon were super tasty, though a bit on the sweet side. My favorite was the fish cake and soft shell crab.The tofu soup was sizzling hot as it came out and super tasty without being too spicy. The chicken was off the charts, perfectly fried skin and very juicy.

Yummy food with lots of delicious side dishes. The food can be order as entrees but personally if youre eating with a group I prefer ordering and sharing family style. You get a better assortment of foods. If you like a one of the many side dishes that they give you, go ahead and ask for more, they keep it coming!

My 2 friends and I went to dine in tonight. It took a little while for any of the 4 servers to take our order. Since we were served, we did not have anyone come check on us nor give us water until I went up to ask which was I went up to pay our bill. Given this, we initially tipped them only $5. 1 lady came and saw and spoke to another coworker in Hangul. I instantly knew they were talking about the tip. As they spoke amongst, themselves, another lady who knew English came and asked us if we did not feel uncomfortable. I’m assuming she’s saying aren’t you uncomfortable not tipping enough which took me and all my friends by surprised given their service. I will not recommend going to this place because of this. It’s crazy how people can ask for tip when their service was trash. I now regret giving her $15 and for her to have he audacity to ask if we felt uncomfortable giving her a small tip.

Definitely a let down. The japchae was oily. Never experienced that before. The bibimbap was not hot. The crunchy rice is usually my favorite part, but it never got crispy. Felt sick afterward. I usually feel good after Korean food.

Overall such great customer service tend to us immediately. We ordered a new dish they just launched and didn’t like it and they apologized even when it’s not their fault and were super kind about taking it back. Definitely recommend their food too such great authentic Korean food.

The place is severely understaffed. We waited 30 minutes for a table for 8, not because there were no table but because they didn’t have time to clean tables. When we sat down, there were 5 tables behind us full of used dishes.We were basically serving ourselves, getting napkins and straws ourselves and refilling water and tea from front counter.We ordered 6 dishes for 8 people, half of the group were kid and old people. 4 of the dishes we ordered were already family sizes (bulgogi, galbi, seafood pancake and fried chicken), but the waitress kept trying to force us to order more. And as expected, even with 6 dishes we still have leftovers.Food was pretty expensive for the small portions.Dolsot bibimbap was a joke, pot wasn’t hot enough to get any crust. Seafood pancake was too thick and undercooked; it was also missing the dipping sauce. Galbi and bulbogi were decent. Soon du bu was a bit too salty.

Top notch side dishes, I really loved how they did their kimchi. Recommend bulgogi, but for my personal taste I am going to request less sugar next time. Squid dolsot bimbimbop was ok, I wouldn’t order it again. Love that all of our dishes came in stone pots!Atmosphere inside was modern and well designed unexpectedly, we walked by a number of times and the outside does not look pleasing! I am extremely in love with this place. I love Korean food and this is absolutely the best Korean food I’ve had besides Korean bbq Oz.The tofu soup gets sent over to our table in a hot clay pot, and my mind is just blown away. They do seem a little pricey but totally worth the price. They give us good amount of portions and it seems reasonable to me. I ordered the Korean rice cakes, bulgogi (beef), and the japchae, and along with the hot clay pot tofu. Super delicious! It fulled up me and my 4 girls. Not to mention there are small little starters, also comes with a bowl of rice.I will be going back tomorrow! :)

I was hesitant to go this place after I read some of the google reviews. I went there today because I was closer to this location than the Folsom Blvd location so I decided to try it out. We immediately got sat by the friendly server Angel. She explained the menu to us and she was really patient. Angel provided us an excellent service. The food was good but little pricy for the amount that they served. Overall I recommend going.

The bibimbap is pretty amazing. The dishes of all the pickled items are fun. I love the crunchy n soft crabs and the little fish and cuttlefish. Sunday, 1/29/2023 - My beautiful friend took me to YD Tofu House in Freeport for lunch. Address is 5609 Freeport Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95822 (South Land Park). Located at the corner of Fruitridge and South Land Park, across the street from Walgreens.Upon arrival:Pros:1) the staffs were so nice.2) they seated us right away.3) our table was very clean. Dishes, utensils, cups all clean.4) water tasted good. No funky taste, metal taste, or well taste.5) Love all their side dishes.6) the main food dishes we got were all good.7) the staffs checked on us several times. Refilled our water and brought us more tea. They dont charge extra for hot tea.8)Cons:1) parking is VERY limited. But we found parking.2) fried chicken was good but on the dry side.3) they do not provide hot water. :(Conclusion:I liked this restaurant. When we left, we got several staffs telling us good-bye and thanking us for coming. Several staffs checked on us to make sure we got everything we needed. Foods were good and plenty. We got lots to pack home.

I am very disappointed in my last visit. I used to love YD tofu but I feel like the quality of the food has gone down. I was excited to see that they had the raw spicy crabs in stock, so I ordered some. I couldn’t finish it all so I brought it home only to bite into a rubber band and find hair in my food. The kimchi also isn’t fermented which is another bummer for me. I really hope they take these reviews into consideration to improve. Other than this, the Bossam continues to be delicious and their in-house customer service is superb. But like other reviews have said there is an overall lack in flavor now compared to what they used to be.

Great food but i dont know if its a korean thing or just this owner, they will chase after you out of the restaurant if you dont tip or if tip aint up to part.The greediness is apparent. They should have a sign that says tip required and minimum of such and such. Very dissappointed in how they consistently approached us before leaving cause we havent put out the tip. They started asking about their service and why we didnt tip...That didnt leave a good taste for me, end up giving her 20 dollars for tip but overall killed my mood of this experience. My friends love to come here for different celebrations because we can order family style and share all the different dishes and sides. Update for March 26:I brought my friends here after hyping it up but the service was pretty awful. We been sitting for a while with no sides while we wait for out main entries. Were waiting give or take 45 minutes to an hour which I think is too much to be forgotten this badly. No warning or anything prior to us being sat.Awesome korean food super filling and also expensive. My brother and I just got the seafood pancake and one of the special combination (under for 2 people). This is one of those times where you dont want to eat kbbq but you love their side dishes and want more quality for the price.I think the dishes we got were more than enough for 4 people if I were to guess. Honestly, if you like kbbq but want some quality and not stay there for 3 hours (to get your moneys worth), this is it. You can get refills on the side dishes which is my favorite. I highly recommend a visit here.The parking lot is pretty bad tho so I would watch out for that. It also gets kind of packed fast.

Went to eat with my family and when we were seated the lady told us since we’re a big group that tips will be included on our tabs. That’s fine no issues there. But when we left another group of maybe 4 people had also left too. The lady that works there confused us for that group, ran out to us with the receipt in hand and was demanding tips. Service is much faster than when they first opened, but parking can be challenging on busy days. Some people feel they get more food at the other location on Folsom Bl. The next generation of staff here is friendly and attentive. Overall, this is still a great Korean restaurant in this area. Dont wear anything too nice if you eat here. The food is good, but the waiting time is Long. I think the management can be improved to serve customers better. A simple change could be brought out the small dishes to customers earlier while customers are waiting for main dishes. my waiting time is a half of hour and I dont think it is acceptable. This is my opinion only. Not very much parking, The inside appearance is nice. I have to be honest I did not eat there. I asked for a menu and was surprised to see the prices they charge. There are too many good Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Mexican, restaurants that you could choose and and are far more reasonable. There is a Korean restaurant in my neighborhood that gets great reviews and it is far more reasonable. Hey if you can afford their prices go there Im sure its great. For me Ill pass.

Maybe 15 small bowls of deliciousness! I ordered a kind of kimchi pancake and my son ordered what you could compare to pizza and both were tasty-- on their own or piled with the stuff from the little bowls. Oh, and we had the potstickers and they were huge! I would say they were the best we ever had, the dumpling itself was a finer more tender version than I am familiar with and so yummy. We will return and get more guidance from our server I think. This is definitely the kind of food that gets in your head and requires regular repeats! The server was friendly and the food starts coming out VERY quickly so thats always a plus when you are really hungry, but its the kind of place and style of food that you can linger and draw out the experience if thats what you like. I recommend you give it a try-- dont be put off if you dont recognize anything.

It was lucky we only had three tonight because we were packed near the front door and it felt like the air conditioning was not working properly. We ordered the Grilled Mackerel which had three good sized pieces of perfectly cooked fish. The Kim Chi Tofu Soup, medium heat. It comes bubbling hot in the crockery bowl and the waitress cracks a fresh egg gets into the soup to complete the dish. Would definitely suggest to eat the soup on winter as it warms you up. The fried chicken is cooked to perfection and topped with a sweetly spicy sauce. Lip smacking, finger licking good. There is the multiple (10) condiment side dishes of kim chi, pickled veggies, sauced tidbits, and other yummy tasty treatsthat are served with your meal. A thin wedge of chilled watermelon to topped off our meal. Definitely would ask that we be seated in the back dining area so as not to have the heat of the setting sun cook you while it sets against the window.

The dish was very overwhelming, unless you like cheese and was overall really bland. Was expecting a regular bibimbap with sprinkles of cheese, but no, these were handfuls. The ground beef was dry and bland as well, and there were no more than three shrimps the size of my thumb nail. I would definitely advise against ordering any of the pizza bibimbaps.The banchan (side dishes) were really good. They had a lot and ones Ive never had at any other Korean restaurants ever. The baby crabs were delicious and so were the fish cakes.Service was good but not the best. All of the waiters looked down so it was a bit difficult to get their attention, but once you do, theyre really nice. This is the closest Korean restaurant to the pocket that we know of. Parking is a challenge here if you want park close. Service here has for the most part been has very good. They do a lot of plastic cups and dishes here. The side dishes are varied and good but they definitely use syrup over sugar in the side dishes that are a bit sweet, imho.Normally we go here for bulgogi or kalbi and the quality of the meat has been all over the map. We prefer a lightly marinated version with a focus on the quality of the meat. Lately it seems they have been focusing on a heavy marinade especially for the bulgogi.The kimchi is average. When rating compare to other restaurant kimchees. Dont expect homemade quality kimchee. Most restaurant kimchees are one note, mainly just cabbage. Homemade often has a variety of vegetables as part of the red pepper paste stuffing.For the Sacramento area and specifically for the pocket this is as good as it gets for Korean food. If you want kalbi and dont need the side dishes go to the Hawaiian place on greenhaven and florin its the best deal you can get imho, 3 LA kalbi for under $10 plus you can get 3 scoops of brown rice too.

The menu can be a bit confusing...why are some dishes $12-15 while others are $40??? Dinner price for galbi is expensive. Service was great and food was good. Ran out of japchae when we were there at 8pm. Banchan was delicious and a lot of variety.

Rip off. Menu prices were $11.00 and $14.00 respectively. When it came time to pay, was told they were charging dinner prices ($18.00 and $21.00). Should have given dinner price menus and not lunch price menus. Overpriced for OK food. Never going back.

We asked one of the ladies to split the bill in two, she didn’t know how.....when my son paid she said we are charging the tip as well so my son said it was ok. As we were at the door to leave, three of the servers came as if we’d stolen something, asking us to leave the tip. That was pretty embarrassing that they ask customers specially when they don’t know how to charge it on the card. I don’t feel like coming again!!!!!☹️
