Jana was very nice and hospitable. When I was there you can tell that all of the food is made from scratch and is fresh. I only ate a baklava on my first visit but it was 5/5 stars for freshness and taste.They also care about the environment in their business, which is important for me as someone who cares about the environment too!

Zhengyalov Hatz - 5 🌟Baklava - 5 🌟This place caught my eye and I was close by recently so I stopped in. The decor is awesome and feels very welcoming. The staff was very friendly.When there is only one savory item on the menu and it is a popular place it is always because they know how to make that one item so well there is no need to offer anything else.Zhengyalov Hatz specializes in an aromatic herb flatbread wrap and omg, it is super tasty. The name of the restaurant is also the name of the wrap. I was surprised no sauces come with it. But I figured that was the style. I used some of the condiments on the table but this flatbread stands on its own.I treaded myself to a baklava. Also very fresh, flavorful and amazing.My only tiny regret is that I should have ordered tea. I read after my visit that a lot of people pair their flatbread with fresh tea. For next time!

The zhengyalov and baklava were the two items that my friend recommended to me. They both were delicious. But the items were very light and I was not very filled after finishing both items. The price was a bit high for me when I compared it to what you can get for ~$15 at another restaurant in Glendale.

Ive been watching this place for a while and wanting to find the time to drop in. Today I got to have the most lovely lunch experience there. Their signature dish is a rolled sandwich of sorts, flat bread with a wonderful concoction of 12 herbs and then rolled up to eat. It is absolutely delicious. Its a hot food they make it on the flat top so the bread is toasty and the herbs warm and aromatic. Its a good size portion and I snarfed mine completely. Although it was enough food, I loved it so much I almost ordered another one so that the taste experience would never end. Along with my sandwich roll I got a pot of thyme and mint tea which is a clear glass pot filled with fresh herbs and boiling water sat over a candle to keep it hot. It is so delicious and aromatic and the perfect compliment to the roll. Im in love and Im going to come many many more times in the future. The service is really quite lovely and fast and everyone was very kind to me and willing to answer my questions. Do yourself a favor and try this place out you will not be sorry! Its nicely decorated, clean and spacious and a very comfortable place to just sit and enjoy a light meal.

I came across this restaurant’s page on Google Maps when searching the area for authentic Armenian food. This place was such an incredible find! They only serve one entree and one dessert — zhengyalov hatz and baklava. They have a variety of drinks. The zhengyalov hatz was SO GOOD. Baklava was also delicious. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I’m so, so glad to have found this place and tried this delicious Armenian specialty. You must try this neighborhood gem!

Very bad hosts. They deceive their employees, for $11 they want them to work as a baker and a cleaner and a waiter at the same time, they promise a salary in 2 weeks, and in the end, if you want to leave, they don’t pay and they kick you out. And this is a small part of what can be said about this institution.

Zhengyalov Hatz means Greens Bread. And thats what they do. All they do actually. Large, lightly grilled dough filled with greens rolled/cut into 2 wrap-like sandwiches. One dish, no choice of fillings. Tasty, vegan, light, & toasty. Greens are chopped small so dont forget a toothpick! Also enjoyed the sparkling house made lemonade made fresh to order with mint. Service was immediate and the decor very pleasant. Bring a few quarters to park at the meters out front. They go til midnight and cost 25¢ for 10min.

While the zhengyalov hatz and the paxlova was admittidly my first, I am hooked. The magic and wonder those ladies create with such grace and care is to be envied by bigger and more affluent stores. Ive walked past this small eatery numerous times and finally decided to go in. They serve one dish: a mixture of 12 warm cooked greens, herbs and spices wrapped in a kind of Flatbread. This is a common Armenian dish which I had never had. It was wonderful. Flavorful without being overwhelming, and did not taste like your lawn as so many greens do. Definitely recommend

Was in that area for my nephews baseball scrimmages and decided to use maps and find something new and different. Well mission accomplished! My mom and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant name is the name of the dish itself—an herb and leafy vegetable stuffed flatbread with an elegantly charred skin and a satisfying chewiness. It is a study in deceptive simplicity, as the Armenian women chefs deftly make each flatbread by hand. When you first enter, the thing you notice most is how clean and simple the small restaurant is laid out. Very minimalist and refreshing. Second, you notice how clean and friendly the staff is. This is a unique restaurant... one of a kind in the whole United States. The idea is simple: they offer ONE sandwich type primarily. It is a thin sandwich made of more than ten green herbs and vegetables, chopped and cooked, stuffed inside a large pita pocket bread which has been baked on the premises as well. Once you order the sandwich, they heat it in front of you, and give it to you piping hot. They normally have a few tables and chairs, but with Covid rules, of course it is take-out only. Depending on how hungry you are, you can either share one sandwich or eat a whole one by yourself. Healthy? It is super healthy, you will have no problem digesting it and sleeping soundly at night.

I heard about this place a few months ago but only managed to go there today for some of that magical Jingalov hats.What a cute, quaint, authentic place it is. The minute I went in, the decor, the ambiance, the furniture immediately transported me to hyrenik. I thought I was in Armenia but without the long 16 hrs flight. Even the tissue boxes are exactly like the ones in Armenia.The massive sized yummy jingalov hatz is prepared right there in front of your eyes by lovely Armenian ladies, fresh as it can be! 😋 Yummy in my tummy!I have eaten jingalov hatz in its original source, Artsakh. So I know what I am talking about when I say, outside of Hayasdan, theirs comes quite close to the original Artsakhyan jingalov hatz.Well done ladies 👏🏼 ձեռքերնուդ դալար as we Western Armenians say. The lady who greeted and helped us was delightful. Although Im fully capable of speaking Armenian, I was speaking English to the lady and had a pleasant conversation with her while she was heating the zhengyalov hatz order for my wife and me. If you want to support a local business that offers delicious fare using traditional Armenian recipes that originated in Nagorno-Karabakh (natively known as Artsakh), you wont be disappointed with this new and promising cafe.

This place when they opened they use to put so much green inside, but now they got really cheap, I tried it this week they put so little green it does not taste good anymore. I hope after my review they start putting more greens just like it use to be .

Excellent place to savor a rich Zhengyalov Hatz, it is a very thin bread stuffed with various green leaves. Cooked on the grill. He is originally from the Artsakh region. Good option for vegans.
