WaBa Grill

The food was good today, there was a small piece of plastic mixed in with my chicken though. I have been getting curbside pick up at this location for years. I had to call three times before anyone answered the gentleman that answered told me I needed to come in to get my food, when I went in, I asked are you no longer doing curbside he said he was new and had only been working a month and no one has told him about curbside. The woman that was behind the counter chimed in rudely and said I've been working here a year and we have never done curbside. Well curbside is still available service option labeled on Google, so if there is new management, they need to change that or train their employees. Not only that while I was questioning them about curbside the new worker was asking me what my name was just to get me out of there. This is not the customer service that I'm used to at this location. Hopefully this issue will be fixed. Part of the reason why I like going to this location is because of curbside option.

Bowl House

Recently this place has become my hidden gem. I am absolutely obsessed with this little restaurant nestled in downtown La Verne. The food is absolutely fantastic, and the owners are criminally under charging for their generous portions and delicious food. However, I think im most impressed about how much the owners care for their customers. My sister and I went to get coffee from nambah, and we came back to wait for our food. The owner saw that we had our drinks and without even asking, included coffee biscuits/cookies in our bag to enjoy with our beverages. My sister and I were absolutely baffled at the generosity because this is the type of treatment you'd see in places abroad. But we felt totally welcomed, cared after, and most importantly viewed as people rather than customers. I have been going here once or twice a week for the past 2 months and they haven't failed me once.

This place reminds me of my hometown in San Dimas, you have all these stores and restaurants, and you may not know a great place like this exists! We just finished a check up for my kid in the area and wanted to try something new. After reading multiple yelp comments we decided to give this place a try togo. The lady that took my order on the phone was nice and made sure my questions were answered.FoodSo the food here reminds me of some other fusion places, but they make it quite tasty. We tried the bimbimbop and pork belly bowl and the Gogi Fries. The fries were ok, but I particularly liked both of the bowls. You get to choose brown or white rice and they both come with a good amount of Vegatables inside from bak choi to kale, while having very flavorful protein. The place was nice and clean, but isn't that big so I wouldn't recommend big parties to come in to eat. If I am in the area I would definitely stop by again! Until next time !
Caf Wang Chinese Fusion & Bar

Not a great first impression. Ordered 2 dishes for take out: pork fried rice, Mapo tofu. Ended up throwing away one dish, and had to season the other for enjoyment.Ordered ahead via phone. 15 minute pick up time was good. Upon arrival, I waited about 10 minutes to be greeted as there were no staff members up front. The food...For the record, Mapo tofu is a favorite dish of mine, and my significant other. The Mapo Tofu here had a very thick, heavy chili oil which really washed out the flavors, and created am unenjoyable texture. Myself and my significant other couldnt eat it. Had to toss it. Got the impression the chili oils and tofu were not cooked together. Tofu was really blan, and the chili did not mix well. The fried rice was decent. The fried rice was either blan, or our pallets were disrupted from the Mapo Tofu. I had to add salt to enjoy the fried rice.Honestly, I would give a 1 star, but I havent tried all their dishes. To be frank, I dont know if I would want to return. Maybe one day, after some time has passed.
