The Loft Shabu Sushi and Thai

Easily the best Thai food in Solano County, and probably the best Pad See Ew in the bay area. Ive tried Thai food in Santana Row, in SF, and all around the bay, but The Loft is definitely a standard above. The Pad See Ew has amazing flavor and is really filling. Portion sizes are GREAT. Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle are also among the best Ive ever had. Tom Yum Soup was good, but nothing extraordinary. Increasing the spice level is really just adding chili pepper flakes, so do be careful when turning it up, as you might inhale more than you taste!Delivery is a great plus!* UPDATE 3/23*IT HURTS ME SO MUCH to crank the review down to 4-star from 5, but Ive been here a few more times since my last review, and I felt like I should update a bit. Now, most things have not changed. Flavor, still amazing. Service, still attentive, Ambience, just as cute as before. But the portion sizes :(The last 2 times I came here, I had to order TWO entrees to get ALMOST as full as I used to be with just one order from before. At first I thought maybe my appetite is getting larger, BUT one time I ordered a pad see ew to-go (which they usually fill their black tray right to the top), and it barely filled their tray halfway! This is not good Loft!I definitely went a few more times to hope that sizes would grow back, but unfortunately not yet. Lets hope the next time I swing by portion sizes are back to the great way they were before!

Everything was so amazing. My mother and I ordered here a few times, but recently we ordered the (BONELESS) Half&Half chicken (sesame soy + korean bbq), Fresh Garlic Fries, Homemade Strawberry Lemonade and Tteokbokki .The presentation for everything was beautiful. I like to not just eat with my mouth but with my eyes too so the black + white sesame seed and green onion garnish was lovely. For the chicken- my mom loved it!Fries - they were pretty good. they have a sweet glaze, maybe like honey butter or something but its interesting. I like that they were still crunchy and not soggy at all.Tteokbokki- such a large portion. and the tteok was thicc. ? I enjoyed that it wasnt too spicy so even my mom could enjoy it, though personally I wouldnt mind it hotter ?Lemonade- was really good! not overwhelmingly sweet or sour. I love it came in a sealed cup, (the kind of cup that milktea comes in).It is pricey, but you get what you paid for. The food is of good quality and made with love. Would love to see more family-owned businesses like this in the Bay. ♡I am a pescatarian and wish there was like a vegetarian or shrimp option for the mandoo/dumplings and like a fried shrimp or fish alternative for the chicken. I really want to try those different flavors like honey butter, chillin chili, korean bbq and all that.

You know its a good review when Im leaving a review the moment I get home. This is the most important review youll read about this place.I walked in to this place and ordered a steak and shrimp plate for approx $30. Let me tell you it wasnt worth the wait or the money at all.Firstly the shrimp literally tasted like it was boiled with some salt and pepper seasoning. Take a look at the picture it looks dry. Then take a look at the steak?? Theres absolutely no seasoning no garlic soy butter. Look at the picture! Does it not scream DRY?!? Now lets get to the fried rice. Tell me thats not the cheapest looking fried rice with no seasoning or butter on it?! That rice quality is the cheapest looking rice available at Walmart and they had the audacity to not even fry it or season it.Im not even finished yet. This isnt the absolute worst part of this whole experience. Because it gets worse. I go to the owner his name is Romeo, and I ask him is this really what youre charging people $30 a plate for?? And he began to apologize and said was very sorry for the ugly tasteless plate while he started caressing the shrimp and meat with his bare hands infront of me to make sure my complaint was valid. I told him exactly what I mentioned in this review and he apologized and said no wait let us remake it for you. We want to make it right. We dont want you to feel this way about our food. So as a customer that would rather pay and leave I decided to take a chance and see if they can get it right. After all we all deserve a second chance right?... well the owners wife came up to me and was chatting with me leveling with me and I really appreciated it. She mentioned that next time I give more specific instructions on how I want my steak cooked. For example if I want my steak cooked medium rare I have to tell them to sear the outside like every restaurant does normally to every steak. Because who cooks their steaks grey like this?!!?Last part (important)**About 30mins passes by and Im still waiting for the remade plate. I go up to Romeos (owners) wife and say hey I have to leave soon, not sure how long this is gonna take but I wanted to check in at this point Romeo the owner looked like he just remembered I existed and he began to address me rudely saying that I spoke badly about his food and Im not getting a remade plate.First of all I didnt want a remade plate. I was perfectly fine with paying for my food and leaving. You (ROMEO THE OWNER) insisted I stay and give you a chance to change my opinion on how TERRIBLE the food is here. And when you forgot and then remembered when you saw me the best you could do was be rude instead of owning up to your mistakes. There may be a lot of people that come here that think this is a good replacement for a place like Benihana. But the truth is, THE SHRIMP IS FROM FROZEN, NOT SEASONED, THE STEAK IS COOKED HORRIBLY, THE FRIED RICE IS LOW QUALITY NO SEASONING NO BUTTER. The best thing I ate on this plate was the vegetables. And the owner was 100% incompetent and unprofessional in handling the matter. I mean why say youre going to remake it and you want to give a better impression and make me wait that long. Then when I address you want to be act all upset cause I DIDNT LIKE THE FOOD? At this point Im doin your business a favor cause if no one told you the food sucks. Its cause 1 theyre your friends or 2 they dont have good taste. It really irks me cause I wasted my time here when I insisted to not even deal with this crap. Do better ROMEO. Your food and customer service is trash. I wish I could give this establishment 0 stars.
Hiddenbrooke Plaza

This is a community centered plaza which is accessible past the guard shack of Hiddenbrooke Community of homes. J&Os market with a deli, wines and beer and other snacks is here, along with Thai Loft Fusion in a simple eye pleasing layout with Asian Fusion dishes, and Michael Warring upscale reservations-only restaurant is here. ACE hardware used to be here, but times are changing. A dry cleaner is also included here, sitting next to a real estate company as well.

My dining experience is limited to about half a dozen dishes. I have a couple favorites, a few decent and a couple not worth trying.Lets start off with my favorites. The garlic sauce wings are fantastic. Crunchy, cooked in a sticky gooey sauce that is sweet and slightly spicy. I come here every so often for the wings alone. They are seriously that GOOD.I tried the tomato and egg soup yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised. It was full of egg and fresh vegetables. Chunks of tomato, al dente squash, large slices of mushrooms, and green onions. Not the bland tell-tale mix of frozen vegetables consisting of peas and cubed carrots that Ive encountered at some other restaurants. The chicken congee is good and I particularly enjoy it when not feeling well. Its a childhood comfort food for me. Filling, warms you up on a cold day, and just enough flavor. The garlic rice makes a great staple and a nice change from steamed rice. The pork tocino lunch special is decent as well. It comes with a fried egg, garlic rice, and tomato. The pancit bihon unfortunately I didnt like at all. I took a few bites then took the rest home. Tried it again the next day and ended up tossing the entire dish. Last of all there are several grades of rice and it makes a huge difference when a restaurant uses a lower grade of rice. Im not crazy about their steamed rice and will order it only if the dish Im having is better with plain rice. The restaurant itself is very basic. The staff, some are nicer and more attentive than others. The garlic sauce wings are 5 stars. The tomato and egg soup 4 stars. The other dishes I would give a 3-3.5 except for the one I didnt enjoy at all of course.
