KUMI KO
1300 S Long Beach Blvd, Compton, CA 90221, United States
BACKGROUNDThis was my fiancée and Is third time at this restaurant and the atmosphere, vibe, SUPREME customer service and variety of food options keep me coming back. This time around I decided to somewhat ball out! Wasnt being conservative today!SUSHIWe decided to get the Kumiko Boat (assorted sushi, nigiri and sashimi) but I was stunned by the pure massiveness of the boat! It literally took two tables and EVERYONE stopped and stared as the hostess brought it to our table. Talk about show stopping and beautiful. Granted Ive had better sashimi, but those restaurant like Sugar Fish are MUCH more expensive. This is good quality fish at an affordable price.TEA- Green tea with roasted popped brown rice (something along those lines)Very good tea to start the meal plus free refills so I had 3 cups in total.- Iced Thai tea, fiancée stated that it was good but wish it had less iceDESSERTWas recommended by the chef, he stated that I would appreciate the cold, soft sweetness of the ice cream (wasnt expecting green tea ice cream to be so scrumptious) and the warm crunch of the fried banana but I have to say, the contract of salty, sweet, warm, cold, soft and crunchy was wonderful! Definitely the way to end a wonderful night.

Panda Express
2187 W, 2187 Rosecrans Ave, Compton, CA 90222, United States
The employees here are mostly young and do not have a problem talking back to you. No customer service at all. I asked a sample question about serving me in a box with 2 entrees and chow mein in it they seem like they didnt know what I was talking about. They did not know how to educate me that they do plates now. I mentioned that I just recently went to another panda and they have boxes. She said this aint this panda now is it??? What kind of service is this.??? Attitude from high schoolers that have no education or professionalism. No one is training these people. Whats going on with this store go through the drive thru you can see how they are.

DO NOT COME HERE....I get the same order at different Waba grills. I get the Value bowl combo a mini with 1 ?...however the Carson location is the worse of them all. THERE PORTIONS are too small the taco smaller and the mini bowl smaller. Long beach location is perfect....After getting a email ...I came back on 11/1/23 AND THE TACOS AND BOWL SMALLER THAN OTHER LOCATION ...Do not come to this one the cool terrible he put the food on a Scale.

Panda Express
1641 South Alameda St, Compton, CA 90220, United States
This place is the worst Panda Express I've encountered. I paid $12 for a medium side of honey walnut shrimp, to which they gave me a half empty container. When I asked the workers to fill it up, they lied to my face claiming the shrimp medium side came with 14 pieces. I've never seen a panda worker counting shrimp when I order them. And to make matters worse I got home and counted only 12 shrimp. The fact that I had to go home and count the shrimp was ridiculous. Extremely poor customer service skills. Also, my trays of food were very sloppy because the server was too busy talking to her friend that was in line behind me instead of doing her job. I was ripped off on my shrimp side. I was not provided the full amount of shrimp that they claimed was supposed to be there, and when I asked them to fill it up, they didn't care and wanted to turn me away. The real issue is that their lack of foresight to know how much shrimp to have on hand, because I was shorted shrimp, so that they can leave one serving left in the tray in case somebody else asked for it a.k.a. the kitchen had fallen behind, and had not cooked enough shrimp. The shrimp was soggy and not Panda Express quality.I'm also still waiting for corporate to get back to me because I deserve to be compensated for this lack of food that I had paid for and no I will not be coming all the way back to this Compton location I was in the middle of a move and now no longer anywhere near here.Another issue is I ordered chicken teriyaki and because the worker was talking to the lady in line behind me, instead of doing her job, my chicken was dry with no teriyaki sauce on it at all. Furthermore, I ordered wontons and I receive no sweet-and-sour sauce. All this location cared about was taking my money and shooing me along. In addition, there was another issue that I asked for Beijing beef and she scooped string bean chicken into my plate and when I told her that's not Beijing beef, she was so confused had no idea what I was talking about and then just scraped out string bean chicken from the train instead of serving me a new tray like she should have because she put the wrong item in it. so unprofessional and again it's because she was so busy talking to the girl behind me that she personally knew. she's on the clock and should not be having personal conversations while she's working because all it did was make me have a very poor experience.Rude workers who care more about chit chatting with their friends and making up fake rules about counting shrimp. You guys are not doing your job because I as the customer already expressed that I was unhappy with the quality and quantity of my shrimp having to go home and count it is horrible. Leaving customers. Dissatisfied is a no for me. Especially at the crazy price of $12 for a medium side. And don't be confused by the image below some of these were so soggy that the shrimp came out of the honey walnut batter, so it looks like it's more shrimp than what it actually is. I know how to count but the workers don't.

Sunnys Chinese Food

The area along with the place is very. . . . questionable. not exactly the homeist place in town, but the woman behind the counter will make you feel like it is. Its no doubt the hospitality, for anyone thats been, is never in short supply. Personally I get the chicken chow mein, its a hefty portion so the extra pricing is worth it. Also something worth notice is, you can hear the elderly, im assuming, Korean woman chopping away at your vegetables. Its looks, smells, and tastes fresh. Now since the food is always prepared fresh and this isnt Top chef, sometimes this place is a swing and miss with flavor. But Overall great hospitality and normally genuine food.

I love this place! This is Asian Fusion semi fast food place. Its a Korean bowl place. Picture Chipotle for Korean! You get to put whatever you want included in the size and protein choice. I didnt even think to take pics of my food, next time for sure! I had a large bowl with a little spring mix salad, Korean beef, roasted Brussel sprouts and zucchini, tomatoes, English cucumbers and peanut salad dressing for the salad, top with sesame seeds and fried scallions! This bowl was so delicious especially the Brussel sprouts! I went to the Compton location and the gentleman helping me was excellent! I told him it was my first time and he let me sample the chicken and beef, he was patient with me because they really have a lot of choices! Must try! Locations in Norwalk, Compton and Torrance!

This is a small pho restaurant in Compton.I ordered a number 8 which was the shrimp pho. It was good. I also ordered a side of spicy edamame. They were okay. I wouldnt order them again if Im being honest. I tried their coconut Thai iced tea. First time trying it with coconut and it was so good! The host was polite, patient and attentive. She checked on me a couple of times after getting my food to make sure I had everything I needed and to make sure I was enjoying everything. She greeted me coming in and made sure she said goodbye as well. I appreciated that. They had this really cool shirt up on the wall that read, Dont pho get the Sriracha and I thought it was so cute so I asked if they sold the shirts and the lady politely said no but that they are working on getting merch.

Poki Yaki

I came hungry and left full, but I was disappointed at the fact that I couldnt taste authentic Asian food. I ordered the beef ramen soup and tempura shrimp. My food didnt lack flavor. It just wasnt Asian flavor. The shrimp, while it was ok, it had a slightly tangy flavor, DEFINITELY not Asian flavor. My soup had a decent amount of ramen and beef and some veggies, which, to be honest, I just dont see in a more authentic Asian restaurant. It felt more like I was eating a soup with ramen and beef in it. Look how runny it is. Makes me wish I went to the Vietnamese restaurant that is nearby instead.

MAKA GRILL
1929 W Artesia Blvd, Compton, CA 90220, United States
I went here because the food looked really good & the reviews supported that. When i first came in the lady ignored me & spoke to every one else around me. I ordered one roll it took her 30 mins to give to me but made sure to give everyone else their food even tho they ordered multiple items and came in AFTER ME. Even the guy who came in after me and got his food before looked at me like something wasn't right. I won't come back again because I don't like spending my money in places that discriminate against me. If you don't want a person of color eating your food which is strange people yall are people of color then establish that at the ENTRANCE. She always had on no gloves while preparing my food and drowned my roll in sauce smh.
