Kim Kee Noodle Cafe is a casual local Chinese noodle eatery with Vietnamese influences. My family is loyal to this restaurant for its extremely low-priced but tasty authentic eats. Their house spicy satay sauce greatly enhances any of the dishes. My favorite here is the fried rice cakes. Environment is really humble but service is pretty nice. Expect a short wait as it always gets crowded.

This Chinese restaurant off of Main Street is a great fine. We came at 6 PM on a Friday night, but surprisingly it wasnt that busy. I was about less than half way bud, so the wait time is pretty short. I would think that there would be a lot more customers, because based on the decor, the ambience, and the Silings of food, it looks like it should be a hit.The prices are not that bad either. Most dishes are anywhere from $10-$22, but with the size of their servings, its definitely to share with friends and family. We ordered three items: the walk pride hot spicy pot for $19.99, the stirfry Chinese yeah Im with black fungus for $14.99, and the braised beef noodles for $10.99. We ordered three items for the poor of us, and we were so full by the end of it, that we had enough to take home afterwards. The spicy beef dry pot was spicy and delicious. Unlike other spicy food, the schezuan hot pepper creates a soft numbing sensation that complements the strong flavors. The yam and the spam in the dry pot with the tender fatty beef was perfect. The Dan Dan noodles was also a packed punch of flavor. Spicy and complex, they were a great addition to the meal. Lastly, the wood your mushrooms with Jan were a great compliment because they werent as spicy as the other two dishes. The yam was nice and crisp, almost like watercress, just like the wood ear.

Meet Qin Noodle

Im giving this place 4 stars because the food was pretty good. I got the cold noodles and it was delicious. And friends got the soup and dry noodles and also liked it. If you like wide noodles, this is a great choice. The portion of the dry and soup noodles is perfect, not too much, not too little. The cold noodles portion is smaller but the price is also a lot less, around $7. Next time I would maybe get two portions if I wanted it as an entree.I took down 1 star though because our food came out in strange increments. My cold noodles came out first. Then it was a little while before the soup noodles came out and then an even longer while before a burger came out and then we realized they totally forgot our dry noodle order which the staff apologized and said was very fast to make and yup came out in a few minutes. However, the overall time it took (not including the forgotten dish) was quite a while. So if youre short on time, this might not be the place to go.However, on a Sunday morning, it was easy to get a table for six which cannot be said for some of the other places we were trying to go to.

This has become one of our favorite places to go in the past few months. The staff are friendly and always pleasant (not always a given in a Chinese restaurant in this area!), but of course, its the food that really keeps us coming back. We have not explored the menu in great depth because we love their bread food! The meat pies are great - weve eaten at Beijing a Pie House many, many times, but they were the only game in town back then. Well, now theres a new player that keeps us coming back over and over again. The beef pies are really good. Chinese restaurants dont always do beef very well, but these folks have got it down. Our next favorite are the pork and leek pies. Flavorful pork and lots of fresh leek. The other pies are very good too, but the best thing about this place are the unique leek pies! A plate full of these little leek-filled wonders are unlike anything anywhere else in the SGV. Thick and full of flavor, not like the usual thin and greasy leek pies you see everywhere else.We have not tried much else because we *have* to get the leek pies . . . and the meat pies are not far behind. By then, theres no room for anything else.Maybe someday in another review.

I have been coming to this place since long time ago, and never had an issue until 10/1/2022. My cousin is in town visiting, so I took him to enjoy some authentic Hong Kong style food. We were seated by a waiter who I am familiar with, and he was friendly and nice as usual.A waitress came over and took our order. We ordered via Cantonese (I am fluent by the way). My cousin ordered an udon, and I ordered chicken steak. The waitress asked me if I want rice or pasta in Cantonese. I asked if I can have French fries. She gave me an attitude and said “I already asked if you want French fries (she said French fries in English).” I was shocked as she was bit rude. She then turned and walked away. The udon was pretty bad. The broth is very watery. It is like udon in hot water, not even with the MSG packet. The chicken steak was good as usual that the chicken skin was very crispy. It was tender and flavorful. Two stars for the chicken steak. After we paid our bill, I asked the same waitress for some tape (in cantonese, I know it is odd) because my cousin needed to tape something in his car. She pointed to the other side “ask them!” I told her that someone directed me to come ask her. The waitress sounded very annoyed “what do you need again (in Cantonese)?” I told her tape in Cantonese. She said, “what?” The nice waiter brought me the tape patiently. The waitress then said “oh, tape (in English).”I wonder if I should start speaking English when I come to this authentic Hong Kong style restaurant next time. I do not mind speaking English if that will make the ordering process easier. The waitress will definitely benefit in some training as she could have ask me to speak to her in English. I also would like to give her benefit of the doubt as she might have a bad day. Hope she will have a better day, when I return next time.

When we parked, we had trouble identifying the restaurant. From the parking lot, the only sign we saw said “海皇粥粉麵” and we were able to verify it was the right place by looking at old photos from other reviews on Google Maps.Shrimp Won Ton Noodles in Soup ($12.90): The shrimp wontons are indeed as big as other reviewers said. The soup came with four giant wontons packed with shrimp. The soup was delicious as were the wontons with no off flavors that Ive had before at other places serving similar style wontons. The gailan/jielan (Chinese broccoli) in the soup was super tender and worked really well with the dish.Beef Stew Noodles in Soup ($12.90): The beef and tendon in this noodle soup were cooked to ultimate tenderness without the beef becoming stringy. Great flavor and excellent texture.Fish Tofu with Special Sauce ($10.25): This tasted like and had the texture of a light fried fish ball. Interesting to try, but probably just the once for us. It was paired with a spicy topping that worked well with the fish tofu.Special Pan Fried Rolls ($9.95): These are rice rolls are similar to steamed rice rolls but rolled tightly into cylinders and then pan fried and tossed in a sauce. Its like he fun / chow fun but many layers and rolled up. These were good, but we wished we spent $2 extra to get the Beef Stew Pan Fried Rolls.Oyster Sauce with Vegetables ($7.25): This was tender gailan (Chinese broccoli) cut into thirds and topped with oyster sauce. They were tender and cooked just enough. The bathroom situation was not ideal. The bathroom itself was locked (by accident). After they unlocked it, they cautioned not to use the lock on the door or the bathroom might end up locked again. There is a latch on the inside of the door to keep it from being opened when occupied. The bathroom is used for some cleaning storage and there were paper towels overflowing the wastebasket and no soap in the soap dispenser. After I informed them of the soap problem, they remedied it by putting a bottle of hand sanitizer in the bathroom.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a remarkable Asian restaurant that my father, a discerning dentist, highly recommended. This five-star establishment exceeded all expectations, offering an unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was both sophisticated and inviting, with elegant decor that seamlessly blended traditional and modern elements. The staff greeted us warmly, providing impeccable service throughout our visit. Their attentiveness and knowledge about the menu were truly commendable. The highlight, of course, was the food. Each dish was a masterpiece, meticulously crafted with fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors. We started with a selection of appetizers that included perfectly steamed dumplings and a refreshing seaweed salad. The main courses were equally impressive: the sushi rolls were beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, while the pad Thai had the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. One of the standout dishes was the Peking duck, which was incredibly tender and flavorful, served with traditional accompaniments that enhanced every bite. For dessert, we indulged in a delightful mango sticky rice that provided a sweet and satisfying end to our meal. The restaurants attention to detail, from the presentation of the dishes to the seamless service, was truly exceptional. Its clear that they take pride in offering an unparalleled dining experience. This restaurant is a gem that I would recommend to anyone looking for an extraordinary Asian cuisine experience. My fathers recommendation was spot on, and I cant wait to return.

I passed by the neighborhood for work and it felt quite clean. I had a simple meal and ordered cold dishes, cold noodles, and pork head meat. As a northerner, I can honestly say that his smoked pork head is very authentic. Its not salty and tastes light. Its just right to eat directly. People who drink it may find it a bit bland. The shop is not big, you can see the kitchen, and it is very clean. I like this kind of simple restaurant. You can see the environment in which the food is cooked, which makes people feel very reassured. Before leaving, I packed pig heads and ears. They could also help cut the meat and make cold dishes. Overall, it was a good experience and I will come again~

Chili Mee Noodle Bar
1261 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Bright, airy, welcoming, casual eatery that offers a simple menu of noodles and a few sides. Were Indonesian and love noodles, so we were pretty excited to try this new establishment, which has only been open for two months! You order at the register and grab a table. My mom and I both got the chili mee -- I got mine exactly as advertised (spicy!) and my mom opted to go with medium spicy. We also shared a bowl of their beef meatball soup. Food came out quickly and for $5.50-7.50 a bowl, the portion was generous. Presentation was great, and upon our first bite, we couldnt help but chime at the same time, Mmmm. Enak sekali! (Very good in Indonesian). The noodles were perfectly cooked and moist. It had a nice bite to it, so no soggy noods here. And the flavor was on point. Even the beef ball soup was tasty -- simple, and it reminded me of bakso, which is beef ball noodle soup, a very traditional Indonesian staple, which is delicious, esp on a cold, rainy day. The meatball was super tender. We loved everything we ate and will be back!My only critiques are the chili mee was definitely SPICY. If youre a spicy food lover, you may enjoy this as-is. I enjoy spicy foods, but I did find perhaps it was a tad too spicy for me -- my nose was def running. It would be nice to see the possibility of adding protein to the noodle bowls, i.e. tofu or sliced chicken or even have the beef meatball as an option. Or maybe offering a hard boiled egg or soft egg would be delicious. Some veggies in the noods would be great too. Makes for a more complete meal. The other drawback was the music being played was a little too loud -- music should be background noise, not the star of the show at a dining establishment. This way customers can sit comfortably and hear one another talk.Service was friendly and efficient! Go support local!

Yes, theres sushi and Chinese food at this restaurant. Dont expect authentic sushi but it honestly hits the spot. Generous portions here and the prices are good. Service was good although we were the only table. They served us loose leaf tea in a kettle so that was a nice touch.I think this is a great place if you have a sushi craving but also want a nice bowl of Chinese beef noodle soup. Haha. Overall, food is tasty and taste freshly made.
