Sea Empress Seafood Restaurant

This is a bit of a run down traditional old fashioned Chinese restaurant. The staff is ok. Short handed, overworked but they do the best they can. The food is good, but again traditional Chinese. We went on memorial day and it was dim sum day!! All looked very good, but not cheap (5-8$ a plate). It was crowded, which it is not usually. The menu items are good, reasonable selection and all taste good. Menu prices are ok 16-20$.Overall, the place is ok. The food is good, the staff is ok but its a try it place that you might enjoy if you like that old style chinatown type restaurant.

BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT AROUND!!! great service and great food! My mom has been going here for quite a while, and they know her by name . Always very friendly and fresh hot and delicious food..12/28/2022I can never say anything bad about the food here it is beyond delicious. Although the service has gone down the drains! For example, today, the server tried taking another tables order before ours, and the table told him we were there first. We need a refill for our drinks and i.am.litterally waving a napkin and using the reflection in the mirror. Another table sat down by us, and the mother turned her chair say can we order now! Same for behind me as well. The customer was saying, Excuse me over and over, finally he got up, and can you help me. This is also our second visit with service like this. I told my mom we can try it one more and if the service is the same its time to.find a new restaurant

I am very welcome to see new Cantonese HK style Chinese restaurant in the South Bay area (this place also have Vietnamese Pho and dishes). This is a Okish restaurant if you want something quick and do not want to drive all the way to San Gabriel Valley area for authentic Cantonese restaurant. I have very high standard of Cantonese restaurant and this place is just average. I can see some people might like it if they enjoy American Chinese foods like Panda Express or HK Express. They do have Dim Sum and other Chinese BBQ dishes, but they are WAY OVERPRICED! Their dishes are almost 35%-45% more expensive than any authentic Cantonese restaurant in San Gabriel Valley area. For example, their Dim Sum Shu Mai cost $5.25 for 3 pieces!!! This is my first time ever seeing a Dim Sum Shu Mai dish comes with only 3 pieces. Shu Mai from any of the Dim Sum places in San Gabriel Valley area comes with at less 4 pieces (even Sea Empress Dim Sum restaurant in Gardena)!! However, to be fair this place is very clean, and staffs are very friendly, and ok portion size (on fried rice only). -2 stars for way overpriced items and foods are just average.Quick tips: This place is ok for trying it but I will never come back. Do not order any BBQ dishes there!! They are totally not worth the price and taste just average. I will also stay away from Dim Sum dishes as well. Again, this place is WAY OVERPRICED and prices are nonrealistic. Maybe it is better to just order the Vietnamese dishes from this place.

First time at this location and I was pleased. There was a line at the drive thru, but it moved pretty fast. I was kind of worried about the food not being hot/fresh, but thank God it was. Great service and clean grounds. I don’t mind going inside but being able to just drive up did kind of save time so you can pretty much grab your food and keep going. Our food was given to us exactly as ordered and it tasted very well. I love the Rangoons and I love the fact that the cream cheese is not sweet (which they normally are at a chinese restaurant). I Recommend this place if you’re near by and want a quick bite to eat.
No 1 Chef Chinese Food

Food tastes good but the portions are much smaller than other chinese take out joints. I got 3 pieces of meat & a whole bunch of veggies plus 1 scoop of rice. Normally when I buy chinese food lunch-combos, I cant even finish it in one seating. Not enough sitting chairs/tables either, i counted two only. Rest of the space was just empty; I guess they dont want us sitting down. 2 stars for the quick service, we wont be going back tho.

Great Chinese food along Artesia in Gardena (near the start of the 91 fway). Had the lunch specials there -- chow fun with tofu, and crispy chicken over garlic rice. Food was delicious, and service was very good in clean, pleasant surrounding. This is a great Chinese restaurant, and we highly recommend it!

Food that has a light taste without using any seasoning is good. The sauce is important in Jjajangmyeon, but if it is made well, you can enjoy it with the noodles.Ganjjajang is not bad. It has a little too much onion, but it is good because you can taste the unique taste of soybean paste. You can enjoy it even more deliciously by adding a little vinegar to it with an appropriate size of meat and mixing it well.I eat sweet and sour pork with dip~It has a nice crunchy texture. The dumplings were also fried well and crispy. This is a Chinese restaurant with good overall taste.Although there are only a few tables in the restaurant, there is a lot of demand for delivery.Friendly service is even better because it brings joy to customers. We are also holding a free soda event.I think you can refer to the events in the restaurant.Parking is free.Ill have to go again to try some cool Jjambbong.

Christmas 2017 - Wife and I are wrapping up our visit to the greater L.A. area. Just happened to catch this place while coming out of another restaurant located in the same plaza at lunch time. We walked by and there were like several people waiting outside to get a table. The dishes rotating on the window monitor definitely looked appealing, and emphasized a Taiwanese hot pot cuisine, so I made a mental note to check it out for dinner that evening. Some background: I've eaten a few different hot pots before, as it's my Asian wife's favorite kind of food, so I kind of get the concept - You choose a savory broth (such as spicy hot pepper, sweet & spicy, miso, or other curry), and they bring out a pot on a gas burner, to which you add various ingredients yourself at the table -including vegetables, seafood or other meats, like “shabu shabu”. Or they just bring it out to you mixed all together -ala to Korean stew or Vietnamese pho style. Here it was the latter.First thing I noticed was that the place was packed, and the restaurant is a bit on the small side. We waited about 15-20 minutes after checking into the electronic kiosk to get a ticket number. Upon entering, Atmosphere was so-so - it was a bit on the dark side, but not so much that we couldn't see others around us. I could hear contemporary Asian pop music playing in the background. After sitting down, we got our menus. Our server seemed a bit young and impatient, but the food was really what counted. I ordered the #4 (beef hot pot) at mild spice level; my wife the Korean bean paste hot pot with sliced beef, medium spicy. The meal came out piping hot right on a gas burner, one for both of us. The presentation, freshness, and quality of the food were very good. The portions of meat and vegetables were satisfying, and the broth really stood out as excellent - very rich, complex, savory and flavorful - mine was slightly sweet and spicy. My stew included sliced angus beef, napa cabbage, fermented tofu, straw mushrooms, imitation crab, fish cake, a meat ball, rice vermicelli noodles, and a piece of fresh corn, among a few other things. On the side, they had various optional dipping sauces. I only tried the garlic-bean paste, which was fantastic. The spice level was just right for us as well. Having eaten at many restaurants, the price was definitely fair ($14/each) for the quality and quantity of food, at dinner. We got a small refreshing lemon/lime boba at the end. Overall, my experience was great, and I believe it to be very good value. My wife agreed, and she has pretty high standards for Asian food. Mind you, its not fine dining -The atmosphere and service particularly are somewhat wanting, but the food is well worth it. As some others have written, this is a definitely a step above the average pho or soon-dubu place.Overall- Food quality & taste 5/5- Presentation 5/5- Portion size 4.5 /5- Price/value 4/5- Atmosphere 3.5 / 5- Service 3/5- Cleanliness 4 / 5Mean rating: 4.1 of 5 - Very good!—

The food here is amazing but the customer service its so bad . One of the women that works here always has the nastiest unwelcoming attitude. I simply asked her a question regarding one of the items because I didnt know the name of it and she snapped with an attitude amd rolled her eyes. I have worked in food service as a cook and cashier for 5 years and having cashiers like this is unacceptable. Customers like me come in hungry with respect to the workers and the last thing we want is to give people with horrible customer service our money.
