Oh Fish Sushi & Kitchen

We saw excellent 5-star reviews on next door so my wife and I decided to try oh fish sushi for an early Valentine’s dinner. We were not disappointed with the tentative great service, fresh ample and beautiful sushi and food. Both of us ordered a bento boxes, dragon roll, nori sushi and akisushi. Fresh, delicious and large size sushi. The chicken in my wife’s bento and my salmon are twice as much compared to other places. Oh Fish sushi provides free hot tea and ice cream. One of the best sushi meals we’ve had in awhile and we have eaten at many Japanese restaurants. Try Oh fish Sushi and you will happy with the outstanding service, ample, beautiful and very fresh sushi and food.

Having driven by this location in the Schoolbus every day for the past year or so I was so excited to see it open today, with a line out the door. So much so, that after work at 9:30pm I decided to give it a try. While the line was still out the door, it moved quickly. The menus are clear and simple, with just the right amount of options. Moving up to the counter I was greeted with a very friendly cashier, who took my order with a great smile.Waiting for my to go order, I looked around the interior and appreciated how clean and simple the decor was. Mostly posters showing their catering options, and of the beautiful baked Lion King Bowl, which Ill have to come back for. There were only maybe 8-10 small tables, but with the small parking lot this will likely be more of a grand to-go pick-up location. Along with the typical soda fountain and tea carafe, there was a self-serve teriyaki sauce dispenser!I ordered a Chicken and Ribeye bento box combo (Bento B) for myself and the Short Rib, Chicken, & Ribeye bento box combo (Bento E) for my girl, and some potstickers, er, dumplings to share. The chicken was good - while perhaps not as much white meat as an American restaurant, was definitely leaner than your typical Hawaiian cafe, or even most Japanese restaurants. The Ribeye was to die for! It was super lean and tender, and glazed with a yummy sweet sauce. I didnt try the short ribs, but my girl said they were tender and yummy. The dumplings had cooled by the time we had got to them, but they had a nice filling with more vegetables than we are used to - quite a refreshing upgrade for the heavy, all meat dumplings you find in the freezer section of your grocery store.OK, now to be honest, I can imagine youll see some reviewers saying there could have been more flavor. It was perfect for us - but to put things in perspective, well, were middle-aged vanilla people. While we think places like Chevys is too Americanized, we prefer the lean and clean meals from places like Metro Taquero than a more traditional taqueria. If you want super authentic Teriyaki, this may or may not be your cup of tea. But if you want consistent, lean, tender teriyaki thats easy on your wallet, and your tummy, then Teriyaki City Grill is most definitely for you! Bon Appétit!!

Pepper lunch is supposedly Japanese, but seeing kimchi and soju on the menu made me think this was a Korean place. That’s okay, as long as the food is good, I don’t care what kind of place it is. Met up with a friend here to catch up and try something new. I am not familiar with San Lorenzo, but this part of town seems okay. A plaza with plenty of parking so I was relieved that I didn’t have to look for street parking. When I got to the restaurant, I was even more confused. It’s selling milk tea. Then I heard the server speaking in Mandarin. Okay, maybe this place is owned by Chinese. Oh well, perhaps this place has an identity crisis. Lol.I ordered curry beef rice with cheese. It came out sizzling and I had to quickly cook and move the beef slices before they were overcooked. I throughly enjoyed the beef slices. I wish they added more cheese so that the plate was more gooey. Perhaps I was spoiled and ruined by Daeho’s gooey and cheesy Kalbijim, but I digress. This place did a decent job of making pepper lunch dishes. I would go back and maybe next time I would even order their milk tea.

A little bit of everything. friendly service. good selection of various asian and filipino foods and ingredients at good prices, but also an aisle for the standard white american, and and aisle for hispanic foods. entire wall of different types of noodles. one aisle just rice, teas, hot chocolate and coffee. i get chicory coffee from new orleans here.fresh fruit and vegetables. their seasonal produce, espec fruit is often local, so inexpensive and ripe. also things like durian and jackfruit in season.some frozen foods, and a fish market. i have not shopped either of these areas, so cant really comment.
