A really great Japanese restaurant, hidden in West Covina! They have an ample selection of sushi, and other Japanese meals. Without food, they have a good selection of beers and sake. Furthermore, the prices are fair. So, if you need to grab a sushi meal, I would recommend a visit to this hidden gem of West Covina!

Although weve lived in West Covina for over 20 years, for some reason weve never been to this Japanese restaurant. So for a pre-Mothers Day dinner, my husband and I decided to try Sakura.OMG! Food was amazing! Service was incredible and I got a chance to talk to a young lady who worked there who was from Japan. She was so helpful and so friendly.I ordered a chicken teriyaki and sashimi plate which was really delicious! Fish was very fresh and serving portions were huge. I ended up taking lots of it home. My husband ordered a stir-fry chicken dish which was huge as well. Loved all the fresh ingredients in his dish as well. We ended up taking a lot of his home as well.I can see why this restaurant has stood the test of time. They have all the right ingredients down pat to operate a great eating establishment: good food, good service, friendly people, large portions, and beautiful relaxed ambiance.

Cat the waitresses was less then desirable. Initially when we walked in to the restuarant and there was nobody there. The waitress cat said sit anywhere you want and couldnt be bothered by escorting us to a table. Once we set down, we received the worst treatment. Cat the waitress took 10 minutes to come back and asked if we wanted her to take our order. We gave the order and never saw her for about another 10 minutes. Once the first round of food came, we asked her for wasabi and ginger and she brought one portion. In addition, she acted very put out. At this time there was only 3 other tables being served. While we sat and waited for Cat to return, we were grossed out that the bar top, menu, soy sauce bottle where sticky and absolutely gross. We asked Cat to help us clean the items and area and she made us feel like we were unreasonable. Our hands stuck to the bottle, our arms stuck to the counter and the menus stuck to each other. In retrospect, we should have left, but we stayed. We ordered our food, and it took 10 minutes for her to bring us our drinks. The food came approximately 25 minutes after we ordered. Cat never came back to check on us for 45 minutes later she asked if everything was okay? In between, we had a fabulous male waiter named Philip who asked us if we needed anyting? We explained our situation, he handled it. In the meantime, we used the restroom. It was disgusting! There were no seat covers. The buildup of dirt and grime on the tile was unexcusable. The drain cover was not attached and you could literally have twisted your ankle in the size of the hole. Again, we dont know why we didnt leave. The food was delicious. We really enjoyed the company of people that we met at the bar. (Thats the only reason why we didnt leave) The music was way too loud and was obscure artists. We really believe, management needs to be a lot more on top of whats going on in this restaurant. Towards the end of our dinner, we heard this crazy and insane noise that sounded like electricity zapping. We looked down the bar, and there was a bug zapper on the floor zapping bugs. How disgusting! We will never frequent this restaurant again! There needs to be a full rehal on the standards set by this company. This restaurant has great potential and location but will never amount to anything because of the low standards set by management.

I was invited by a friend to have dinner here.The food was GREAT and the people in this Japanese Restaurant are the friendliest that I ever experienced.Not only do you have great food and great service, but also big smile here.We ordered a lot which I will add in photos and most are very good. The Sashimi are fresh, the Sushi and Rolls are well prepared.

Our dinner was so delicious! Of course we orders with our hearts and couldn't have been happier! I definitely recommend trying out your sushi favorites and any thing you haven't tried yet. I loved the lighter flavor of the Unagi and the flavorful Meiji roll. We also loved the seared salmon nigiri and cucumber sunomono. I also haven't had such a good salmon skin roll in ages! Like it was bomb!!!!!! Annnnd to wrap up a truly wonderful experience Paul's carefully hand made ice creams were the best! Lyn also was wonderful as was our server!!! We're sorry we didn't get your name too! 10/10 go here and check out the welcoming fun vibe and amazing food! Ps our photos don't do it justice because they we're definitely after thoughts after diving in.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hibachi Grill Buffet for the first time during my aunts birthday celebration, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! The variety of dishes available was impressive, catering to every palate in our group. From fresh sushi rolls to crispy spring rolls, each dish was more delicious than the last.The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the Mongolian BBQ. The ability to customize your dish with a variety of fresh ingredients and then watch it being expertly grilled right before your eyes added a personalized and entertaining touch to our meal. It was not only fun but also ensured that every bite was exactly to our liking.Our server was exceptionally attentive, refreshing our drinks efficiently and always ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Its rare to find such proactive and thoughtful service.Overall, Hibachi Grill Buffet provided a fantastic dining experience that made my aunts birthday even more special. Whether youre a fan of Asian cuisine or just looking for a place that offers a wide selection of quality food, Hibachi Grill Buffet should definitely be on your list. Local vegan joint In West Covina. Ordered takeout from here on a Thursday evening and it took about 20 mins for the food to be prepared. You can order ahead online or phone in your order. The backstory of this restaurant is touching - you can read about it on their website.Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous. It's awesome to have food that tastes delicious and is also healthy. We opted for a chef's choice set which comes with 3 entrees and 1 appetizer. The appetizer was a veggie dish and had a light nice sauce. The fried chicken and wonton dish was the favorite dish of the night, and was crispy. The mushrooms in brown sauce had the right amount of flavor and came with plenty of veggies. We ordered some noodles on the side, which were chewy and my personal favorite. We also tried a slice of the tiramisu cake, which was light and has the same texture as a vegan cheesecake. You can order a whole cake with advance notice.Credit cards are accepted. Parking is free and available in the shared lot. The employees are very kind and friendly. There are a couple of indoor seating options (no outdoor). I like this place a lot for its homey vibes and the fact you can eat healthily, eco-consciously, and tastily all in one place.

Family-run Indonesian restaurant with fried chicken. They're currently offering takeout/pickup during covid. I've always seen this place whenever I go get a massage at Ancient Thai, so we ordered lunch here on a Sunday. You can order online through their website or via phone. They said it would take ~20 minutes to prepare, but it was closer to 30. There were some Indonesian food stuff for sale inside the restaurant, and they enforce wearing a mask, social distancing, etc. Credit cards are accepted. Parking is available in the strip mall lot.Food-wise, the meat is a bit on the smaller side, but the flavor is top-notch. The half fried chicken (ayam kremesan)was more akin to the size of a quarter chicken, but the chili sauce and the fried crunchy things that came on the side were delicious. The sate babi (pork sticks) were also on the smaller side, but very tasty. The peanut sauce that came on the side was thick and peanut buttery; it completed the sticks very well. The chicken fried rice (nasi goreng Jawa) had a slightly pungent taste (maybe due to the fish sauce) but had a generous serving size and had a decent level of moistness. Overall, it's a small family-run restaurant with authentic, good food with reasonable prices.

Local Asian cafe with yummy drinks, entrees, and snacks. Came here on a Saturday around noon to grab some lunch. You can order ahead online or order in-person. Note if you check in on Yelp, you can get a free topping in your choice of drink. They make the food as it's ordered, but it only took ~15-20 min to get all our stuff.The popcorn chicken was just the right amount of salty, and very crispy. It came with a sweet chili sauce. The curry pork katsu came with two cutlets, rice, and two potatoes. The curry sauce came on the side, and you can customize the spice level (we opted for spicy). You'll need to mix the curry sauce as the spice might settle to the bottom. The curry was very flavorful and thick. It pairs well with the crispiness of the breading. The HK milk tea has an unctuous silkiness that was well-complemented by the squishy, fresh boba. The earl grey milk tea my sister ordered was also good and had a pleasant tea flavor, without being overwhelming. Unfortunately the mille crepes weren't available when we went.Parking is available in the lot. Free WiFi is available too. Credit cards are accepted. Overall, the food and drinks are high quality, and I'll be back here to try more of their drinks/food!
