Koh Ruessei (Bamboo Island) Noodles Restaurant
816 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90813, United States
Food was excellent and the service is warm and kind and yes they may take a little longer, but this is due to the dishes being prepared fresh to order. This is a rare experience nowadays. Prices are right for the freshness and quality of food. I do want to mention Da (I believe the owners sister who gave me a ride back to my work (St. mary hospital) after finding out I had walked there. I really appreciated her kindness and will pass along my experience to my co-workers and will soon be ordering food from this place again.Satisfied customer.

First, let me say that I don't like writing bad reviews, much less about local restaurants. That being said, this was one of the worst food experiences I've had, period. I don't think I would eat anything made at this place even if it was offered to me for free while I was stranded and starving in the wilderness. We came here looking for good local food in the Anaheim area last Tuesday. We were seated immediately; our servers were nice and friendly. I ordered the vegetable pho and spring rolls as an appetizer, and my partner ordered the chicken pho.We got the spring rolls and I started eating them. My partner showed me his roll with ham inside. My own had shrimp. Nowhere on the menu did it say that the spring rolls had meat or seafood; every other restaurant I have been to with spring rolls *at the very least* clarified on the menu if there was meat or not. We called our server over and he asked us if we wanted the tofu spring rolls instead. I was completely bewildered that, again, none of this was listed on the menu — the appetizer was simply listed as spring rolls. I was also upset because I don't eat pork, and I would have NEVER ordered something with pork in it. The tofu spring roll skin was extremely tough and hard to chew, and overall not great. The worst part of it was the so called pho. Pho is cooked over many long hours and it's a delicious soup I've had many times at other authentic restaurants. I literally couldn't take more than a few bites of the “pho” here because it tasted so bad, like an entire bowl of vegetables and microwaved noodles with canned vegetable broth. The broth was so salty — think instant ramen quality — that it was making me nauseous just trying to eat it. Scratch that — that's an insult to instant ramen — it was more like prison food. It was like eating out of a bowl of soy sauce, except the soy sauce tastes like piss (sorry for this description, but yes, it really was THAT bad). My partner later said that his chicken was extremely tough, and that his broth also tasted like it had been canned. For over $15 per bowl, I was mad (and also still hungry). With tax and the tip, the bill came out to roughly $50 — $50 for food that we couldn't even stomach because it tasted like piss. We took most of our “pho” to go because we hate food waste, but we ended up throwing it all out the next day anyway because neither of us could stomach our own leftovers. I hate to be one of those people that says “I could make this at home!” but seriously, I could have made something fresher and actually edible in less than ten minutes.TLDR; I gave this place two stars because the service wasn't horrible and the place seemed decently clean, but I would never come here again. At least with fast food, you get what you pay for on a budget. I feel sorry for the reviewers calling this good pho — seriously are you guys okay? Blink twice if you need help, Mr. Pho is not holding you hostage.

Kinda sad that they call this “authentic” ramen. If the people that comes here likes it, when they go to Japan and try the ramen there, they may call the ones in Japan a fake. Soup was not real ramen soup, noodle was more like “somen” noodles. (Yes, authentic “tonkotsu” noodle is suppose to be thin but not this “somen” noodles) Of course it’s own partly by a Korean people so I get it. I also know it’s not Japan but please don’t advertise as authentic. For the people here they eat it as a soup noodles and as long as people like the taste of these soup and the type of noodles they use, I have no complaints. Should call it Noodle Soup shop instead of “Ramen” Try Hakata Ikkousha in Costa Mesa Little Tokyo or Torrance if you want to taste the real Tonkotsu Ramen !

I really wanted to like this place as I love pho. My favorites has always been steak/beef flavored. Unfortunately, I think I ordered the wrong dish here. The beef soup was meh and didnt taste fresh and looked way too oily. The meat itself is definitely lower quality beef, not like the higher quality Im used to when I eat in Westminster, Irvine, or Vegas. The only part of the beef pho that was decent was the noodle. The pho noodle definitely impressed me.The place was clean and service was good. There werent many people there at lunch time. My order was under $20 so I had to pay cash. Only orders over $20 gets to use credit card.I noticed everyone else ordered their chicken flavored pho, so I think I definitely ordered the wrong dish. But then Im not a chicken flavored pho person so this place wasnt meant for me. However, if someone is in the mood for chicken, this place might be worth a try.

PMJ Insurance Services

Patty and Joyce are very professional, prompt, and spent a lot of time with me by phone explaining the ins and outs of the policy quote for my manufacturing business. My previous broker was the opposite. They wouldnt return phone calls and only communicated by email. This makes understanding of the new insurance policy hard to do as it really needs either a phone call or in-person meeting for the first contact on a new quote or policy due to the complexity and insurance industry terminology. I have an MBA, but am not well versed in the insurance company lingo.PMJ made everything easy for me, including filling out the 13-15 page forms for me and emailing them for my signature. My previous broker emailed me a blank set of forms with no explanations and it was not at all obvious how to fill out many of the fields on the form. PMJ went to bat for me with the various insurance companies they shopped for my corporations liability policy. My previous broker didnt even shop many of the best companies that underwrite coverage for my specific type of business. I never felt that my previous broker was doing anything more than going thru the motions for my firm, which I didnt appreciate. The thing I keep asking myself is why did I wait so long to switch business insurance brokers?.I found PMJ from another Orange County manufacturing business I often work with and hes used PMJ for many years or even decades and is very happy with their service. This is why he recommended PMJ to me. They were able to get quotes for my business and get the policy written and put in force in just eight (8) business days after which my previous policy expired. After that, I would be in danger of being evicted by my business landlord without a new business liability policy to at least protect the premises from fire and similar damage. Im impressed with how fast PMJ was able to get the job done for us and not need a lot of my time to accomplish this.Just as my business associate recommended PMJ to me, I also highly recommend PMJ to any other business needing insurance in the Orange County, CA area. I cant say enough good things about them.
Wow Pho & Steak

We picked this place because theres not a lot of options for viet food after 8pm. We showed up at 8:15 and were the only ones in the restaurant. Quickly seated, we were starving so we ordered quickly. The dishes came out one by one piping hot.My kids who are very picky eaters completely devoured their salmon and pho! A little background: my dad used to own a pho restaurant so I can be super picky about my pho. This tasted like home! My oldest who is a pho connoisseur was very happy! My little one loves salmon so we ordered the Salmon Luc Lac for her which is a play off of the Bo Luc Lac (Shaken Beef). The salmon was fried to perfection and the sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and salty. The pickled onions and salad that went along with it balanced out the salmon and its sauce beautifully. My husband and I ordered the Bun Cha Ha Noi and the Nui Xao Bo. The Bun Cha tastes like what you would order in Ha Noi, Vietnam. Very authentic and the broth was spot on! The beef in the Nui Xao was cooked to a perfect medium rare. All in all 4 VERY solid dishes! We got to meet the chef and he shared that they had only been open for a week. Chef Hai is very passionate about his food and some stories about how he created each recipe with us.The ambiance is very casual. Booths in the main room and a bigger side room with square tables. Its not a fancy place but it was perfect for our quick family dinner.I highly recommend and I hope they can keep up the food quality. I havent had such a great meal in a long time! Well definitely be back!
Pickle Banh Mi Co- Long Beach
1171 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90813, United States
Update: We keep coming back ❤️ We've gotten the beef soup several times and it always hits just right. Today I was feeling under the weather and decided to try the chicken curry with a baguette. It was perfectly spiced and comforting, and it felt like something a mom or grandma would bring you when you're sick. It actually cheered me up so much. Thanks PickleWe did dine in and ordered two banh mi (lemongrass beef with egg added, grilled pork/bbq pork), pork belly spring rolls, Thai milk tea and Vietnamese coffee.Service:Our drinks were up immediately, sandwiches were ready in less than five minutes and the spring rolls came just a few minutes later so we barely waited at all.Sandwiches:The banh mi were incredible. The bread was super fresh, no dry or stale bites anywhere. It perfectly absorbed the sauces from the meat, which was so flavorful and warm like it just came out of the pan. The veggies and herbs were cold and crisp. I liked how generous they were with the pickled veg and big sprigs of cilantro. The quality of the meat seemed good, a little fatty but not too much (and that can be a taste preference).Rolls:The pork belly spring rolls were amazing. So glad my friend recommended we try these. One order is three big rolls and a huge side of peanut sauce - you could probably get the rolls as a meal if you wanted. The pork belly was amazing, tender and melty with a crunchy sear on top. They have a few pork belly dishes here that I want to come back and try now. The ratio of pork, noodles, veggies and herbs was just right, and the peanut sauce was a great texture for dipping without being too thick. Probably the best spring rolls I've ever had.Overall:We got two sandwiches, three big spring rolls, two drinks, and added a 20% tip for under $50. We even had enough food to bring leftovers home. The food was phenomenal, and my only complaint for the entire experience was that the Thai tea could've been a little stronger, but that's no big deal.FYI, a guy sitting next to us had the Vietnamese beef stew and said it was his third time coming back for it. He told us it reminded him of his best friend's mom's cooking when he was growing up, except even better. So we'll be back for that too. :)

Very happy I finally tried them out on a busy late Saturday morning. I still want another spicy curry bun from this place.ITEMS ORDERED:Matcha Sea Salt Cold BrewSpicy Curry PanJapiniMatcha SunriseSpicy MentaikoTASTE:Matcha Sea Salt Cold Brew was actually better than I expected. Glad I was wrong in this case. Ive had been having a few viet coffee/matcha hybrid drinks recently & I initially thought this version wouldnt be as good since cold brew is not as strong as viet coffee. Luckily the cold brew holds up well in this. The cold brew component comes off as a just sweet enough latte while the matcha was saltier than I thought (not a bad thing) with the earthy matcha flavor still being present. Mixed together gives a pleasantly balanced drink that is worth a try.Already knew Id be getting the Spicy Curry Pan & luckily there was literally one left in the display case as I was ordering. So fresh, crisp & flavorful. Very good savory veggie curry with a pleasant heat that grows as you eat it. I wouldve eaten the thing much faster, but didnt want the flavor to end.Japini (Japanese Panini) was a nice little sandwich. I mainly tasted just the cheese & tomato, not so much the bacon, or shisho leaf or pesto. Still good though.Matcha Sunrise did not have the strongest matcha flavor for you die hard matcha fans. Besides that the bread is nice & soft while the cookie crust had a nice sweetness level.Mentaiko had a savory salt flavor which worked well with the really fresh bread. Did not taste any real fish flavor.Seems like they are big on quality of ingredients & they bake fresh daily. I definitely could see that since all the baked goods were very fresh, nothing coming off like it had been sitting there forever.SERVICE, LOCATION & PARKING:I was lucky & the busy line started after I already ordered. Staff were all very nice & did not make me feel rushed which was good. The interior is very warm, welcoming & cute. The mint color tables outside are a nice touch. It looks like the area towards the left when you enter may have once been used for inside seating (precovid). They are located right off W Center Street Promenade, so parking can be a problem. If youre lucky youll find timed parking right on this main street. Its 90 min which is enough time.Quality was there in everything I tried which I imagine is why their baked goods are a little more pricey then Ive seen. But in this instance you are paying for what you get.Id return back here & for sure get the spicy curry pan along with other baked goods.

Merry Christmas & Feliz Navidad neighbors and Anaheim guests. What a PLEASANT BREAKFAST SUPRISE❣️ The food I ordered was DELECTABLE and inside the restaurant was CLEAN, NEW, and breakfast was served WARM and PROMPTLY!Be aware…the sticker shock for going out to breakfast is always a STINGER! The menu board is pre covid prices and the newly printed flyers is the current prices.Willys Eatery deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ but be aware it was too hard to NOT notice Starbucks coffee cups, napkins, and WITNESS young adults eating and throwing their trash IN & OUT trash out their vehicle windows after eating in the shared parking lot! It's heart breaking to witness Americans throw any trash out their vehicle windows as if that behavior is normal ??♀️!Please help these small local businesses stay in business by emailing pictures of trash and requesting clean up on Congressman Correa website and download the City of Anaheim App and upload pictures of the trash and request them to keep our local businesses parking lots CLEAN. It's all anonymous too!PLEASE help our local small businesses (Ball's DOUGHNUT shop in this strip mall is AWESOME too) and keep Anaheim neighborhoods respectable and clean! ?????????????
Nons Kitchen
2422 E Katella Ave, Anaheim, CA 92806, United States
So glad Non’s Kitchen exists!!! It’s been a good 14 months or so since I’ve gotten my proper fix of Popcorn Chicken, not the kfc or generic stuff, but the real deal with basil leaves and a little heat from the spices shake. My go to in Rowland Heights closed down due to the retirement of ownership. Sure, there are alternatives, but not even close, not sizzling hot, not tender, lacking a proper blend of spices.. somethings, always something is off. The chicken has to have its own presence beyond the crust and powder! Found it! Right here at Non’s Kitchen. Flavor, texture, quality, execution, 10/10!So excited from looking at their menu, I also ordered the calamari…Superb! Now, if you are a smoker, or a drinker, tell them to make it extra flavorful… I am not and easily got a range of flavors I truly enjoyed, but I can seehow someone might call it bland. Hey, it’s like finally liking French fries only after discovering ketchup!I also had a milk tea with boba to go, excellent tea, soft chewy boba, a 9/10 as I am spoiled with access to a superior boba shop that I consider the best in the nation. My boba quest has taken me to Dallas, Chicago, Ny, New York, Flushing, San Jose / San Fran and all over southern Cal. So 9/10 is a very solid score.I intend to come back to try their other offerings, garlic noodles and variety of spring rolls among them, and try another drink or two…Location is freeway friendly, easy to get to from a distance …, like Riverside!!! Decore is simple but strong. Images are powerful and if you really look into them, you’ll get a lot out. Service is friendly, but not glowing, and it’s not for lack of effort but between the multitasking and the learning curve, it’s coming along. Let’s put it like this, I love all the employees, and it was my first time here!Critique? Sure, the quantity of the popcorn chicken was on the minimal side for the price… but I can understand it. Increase the price by a buck to give more chicken and it’ll seem expensive. I just have to tell myself it is a snack, not a meal. Enjoy everyone!!!
