Jang Su Jang
3561 El Camino Real # 10, Santa Clara, CA 95051, United States
This review is a little different because I dont know the name of even one dish I ate. I didnt order my meal. All I have are pictures and the taste of wonderful food in my tongue and mind. Next time I will do a better job not just taking pictures but also writing down names. With that caveat, here we go.With the help of a Korean colleague who did my ordering for me, I enjoyed an excellent vegetarian lunch at a popular Tofu Korean BBQ place in Santa Clara called Jang Su Jang. The place has a long wait. So make sure you land there ahead of time. The ambiance is very pleasant and the seating is cosy. The service was very good. The food was fantastic. I was told what to lay off from and made my choices clear. No egg, no mushroom, no meat, no fish sauce and I still ended up with a good big lunch. The Korean grain tea which was warm and had this earthly smell which was fantastic. The vegetarian pancake was outstanding. The main dish with veggies on a pot of hot and crunchy rice and sauce was so good, not a grain was left when I was done. This is my second experience with Korean BBQ and with the right guide to order, the cuisine is fantastic. Strongly recommended with a Korean speaking friend/colleague.Rating:Ambiance: 8.5/10. Very clean and nice ambiance.Service: 9/10. Very good service. My drink was refilled well before I finished it. Servers were on the job and extremely attentive.Food: 8.5/10. Loved it. Very tasty and given the amount of fresh veggies, pretty healthy too.Price: 7.5/10. Slightly on the expensive side but not too pricey.Restroom: N/AOverall: 8.5/10. Every once in a while a restaurant comes along which boasts a cuisine that is not necessarily vegetarian friendly, but with the right help can end up as a feast for the taste buds. This was one of them. Strongly recommended.

California Pizza Kitchen at Santa Clara

Very understaffed; just 4 people working in total. Made to wait 10 minutes for a table on a clearly empty restaurant. Weeknight dinner and they were out of all their soup options. The food we ordered was good though.

EDIT: I took off stars because since the last time I reviewed, CeCe had been replaced by someone (whom I assumed was the owner). Last time, she made a clear reaction for me not giving tip for a big order I picked up myself. Today, she went as far as coercing for a tip and made me uncomfortable. She said no forcing but she was basically.I understand that during this pandemic businesses are struggling, but Im also a (struggling) business owner and I usually drive to pick up food myself to save from giving tips and fees. I have been ordering from this place pretty much every two weeks, and Im not sure if she prefers to get a tip now instead of retaining a returning customer.I believe in tips when Im being serviced, as when someone delivers to me or take care of my table. But just because a business is struggling to pay their staff doesnt mean I need to be made to feel like a bad person for picking up my $50+ order myself.-----Cece was amazing and very helpful. We ordered a roll combo as a takeout and she didnt hesitate to throw me a complimentary side salad when I asked. The sushis are beautiful and the rice is so thin (more rooms for the goodies) ?!! Worth every penny.

Eriks DeliCaf
830 Kiely Blvd UNIT 105, Santa Clara, CA 95051, United States
I came across Eriks Deli when I was living in Santa Clara and as a vegetarian, genuinely liked this place because their veggie sandwich has so many healthy ingredients and is refreshing.Unfortunately, picked up a take out order 2 days ago and my veggie sandwich contained chicken/turkey. I initially thought it was mushroom and had a few bites before my friend confirmed it was really meat. This is so disappointing to me because Ive been a vegetarian for 20 years and ended up accidentally eating meat this way. It was a working day so I didnt have the time to go back and let their team know of this incident.3 stars because Ive had the veggie sandwich before and loved it. Dont know if Ill be back but check your take out orders!

California Pizza Kitchen at Valley Fair
Valley Fair, 2855 Stevens Creek Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050, United States
We had visited the restaurant with hopes of indulging in the delicious Toastada pizza, only to discover that it had been removed from the menu. We were incredibly disappointed by this news, as we had a deep affection for that particular pizza and its absence left us feeling quite melancholic. After spending the entire day at Raging Water Park, hunger pangs struck us hard. We arrived at the restaurant at around 6:00 PM on July 4th, and although it was mostly empty, we still had to endure a 15-minute wait before being seated. Once seated, it took an additional 15-20 minutes to place our order, and we anxiously awaited the arrival of our pizza, which took another 20-25 minutes. While we waited, the staff kindly served us warm bread accompanied by a delightful olive oil dip that was absolutely scrumptious. The prolonged waiting time not only dampened our spirits but also intensified our sadness over the absence of the Toastada pizza. Nonetheless, we decided to order the California veggie pizza, wild mushrooms pizza, Margarita pizza, and Mac n cheese. These pizzas turned out to be excellent in taste, but the longing for the Toastada pizza persisted. We earnestly request the restaurant to bring it back.To add to our disappointment, we had to wait another 15-20 minutes after requesting the bill. Despite these hiccups, we must emphasize that we genuinely appreciate CPK, and we kindly urge them to reintroduce the Toastada pizza while also striving for faster service.

Fox Tale Fermentation Project
30 E Santa Clara St #120, San Jose, CA 95113, United States
I recently discovered this unique brewery + fermentation restaurant serving some of the most creative Kombuchas, mocktails and flavorful plant-based bites.Parking: You can find street parking per east in the weekend.Space /Ambiance: They have indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor wall art of the giant fox illustration and vibrant colors give the place a very eclectic and refreshing vibe.Food/drinks: It's mostly plant-based except a couple of items. They have a seasonally rotating menu. We got the Half spread which comes with 1 fermented item and it was delish! We also got the popular Cultured Cashew Queso with Salsa Macha and chips, definitely a must try. The queso was perfectly cheesy, cant even tell its plant-based, and the Salsa Matcha was so unique combination. The mocktails look insanely good and taste amazing- Butterfly Pea Mocktail was great!Service: They have very kind staff, incredibly helpful in recommending some items. The service was also pretty quick.Community oriented: Their concept of being a place for the community is amazing, they host Open mic and other events too. Highly recommend it and I cant wait to go back.Plan a trip to visit Fox Tale and try their amazing drinks and bites, youll love it.

Iraklis Restaurant
2165 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA 95050, United States
If youre looking for delicious mediterranean food with fantastic service, look no further than Iraklis!Iraklis just opened up 3 weeks ago, and theyre already making a name for themselves in town. We stumbled on them after finding them nearby on Google Maps with a 5-star rating. Very glad we ended up choosing to come here!My parents and I ordered the Armenian Sujuk, Lamb Wrap, and Chicken Wrap, with sides of falafel, tabbouleh, vegan kofta, garlic spread, and pickled turnip. Mom was a huge fan of the Armenian Sujuk. Dad (who loves a “menu on the wall” type restaurant) said the Lamb Wrap reminded him of growing up in Lebanon. I always get Chicken Wraps and this one was really special… it had pomegranate molasses in it to give it a really unique taste. And the showstealer was the Falafel… I think this might be one of the nicest falafel we've ever had! Crispy brown outside with soft fluffy inside, and tasted great with the tahini dip or garlic spread. They cook everything to order, and it comes out tasting very fresh.Best of all was the service. Grace was so friendly and kind, helping us navigate the menu, conversing with us, and making sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful dining experience. And Elias (co-owner + chef) came out to chat and see how we liked the food. Great to see the team interacting with their customers this way. You could tell everyone dining at the restaurant was having a good time and well taken care of.Thank you Grace, Elias, and team for an excellent dining experience. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Tasty and authentic Peruvian food. Here are my thoughts on what we ordered:.Lomo Saltado: Very authentic and delicious. Exactly what I was expecting. All elements were tasty and well seasoned. One of the best Ive had here in the Bay..Tallarín verde con pollo: The chicken itself was very good! Tender, juicy and well seasoned. As for the pasta, it was not bad but I know from personal experience it could be a lot better. Overall it was ok, and portions are very generous..Yuca frita: The yucas themselves were good. The huancaína sauce was not great, it was good but I wouldve hoped for a thicker, creamier, richer consistency and flavor..Lucuma ice cream: So so good! The perfect end to a great and satisfying meal. Delicious Lucuma taste, would definitely recommend. Also, the chicha morada is made fresh and to my surprise it was pretty good ?
