Le Bambou
2634 Del Mar Heights Rd, Del Mar, CA 92014, United States
I wouldnt classify Le Bambou as super-authentic, but it offers a great mix of classic dishes (like clay pot fish, fruit for dessert) and homey fair in a way thats really approachable for anyone. We had the clay pot rice, which was excellent, the ground shrimp springroll appetizer, lychee, and vietnamese coffee. We also had another dish but Im pretty sure it wasnt what I ordered since it was supposed to come in a spicy tomato sauce and seemed more like a non spicy tamarind, but it was still quite good even if Im not sure what it was on the menu. The ambiance gets a 5/5 easily. Its laidback and quiet, with candles and low lighting. The goal was to find someplace we could have a quiet, slow date night with a nice glass of wine and this absolutely hit the spot. Service was awesome and it was a really comfortable experience.
Mongkut Thai Restaurant
212 Avenida Del Mar, San Clemente, CA 92672, United States
This is one of my favorite places to have Thai food in Orange County. Not only has one of the most authentic Asian dishes, but one of the best places to dine in, or to carry out. For years I have come and go, as I moved from San Clemente, but whenever I visit, this is the perfect spot to visit. They have a wide range of delicious dishes, made with passion and care. In this case I order a couple of appetizers, a rice dish, and three more entrees, and all of them were delicious, also their Thai iced tea, is to die forIf you're ever down in San Clemente California and looking for an authentic Thai restaurant don't hesitate to visit this jewel on the coast. It's a wonderful spot, you can check the beach after a great lunch here. You will not regret your visit. Until then I hope to return soon to enjoy my favorite place. Love my Thai food, and beautiful San Clemente ! :)

Ho Kee Cafe
533 S Del Mar Ave, San Gabriel, CA 91776, United States
Ive always see lines out the door for this small Cafe and decided to check it out. The seating area is quite small do youll end up waiting for awhile.Food:1. Our group ordered the house special fish porridge. At first thought, I imagined it to have big chunks of fish meat in it but in reality, theyre very small chunks of tilapia meat. What I didnt think was that theyd include peanuts in it as well. There was also a whole lots of ginger slices, which Im not a fan of. Be careful though because you may come across bones and scales in the porridge.2. Wonton and dumpling noodle soup. The noodles were hard and didnt seem fresh to taste. The wonton and dumplings were great and was flavorful.3. Char Siu Pork and duck noodle soup. The pork was ordinary like any other Chinese restaurant that serves it. I particularly thought the duck was moist but Im sure it wouldve been even better when it wasnt soaked in the soup.4. Crispy Beef Brisket. It was truly crispy and Ive never thought of a dish like this. However, the meat isnt as tender as youd hope but still good. It also comes with a sweet sauce and thats what makes it a good dish. Eating it without the sauce, its bland and doesnt taste like anything.5. Chinese donut. This was crispy and has a little salt in it. A bit oily in my opinion but at least they fry it right then and there and doesnt seem like they microwave it.6. Hong Kong Milk Tea..as good as it tastes in Hong Kong.Service:Better than most Chinese restaurants but there was one lady who tells at other workers and it scares the hell out of me. Im sure thats just her personality but still, the restaurant is small so everyone hears it.
