PorchBox Restaurant & Catering

Change the brown paper bag lunch to a brown paper box. You HAVE to try @eatporchbox ! They serve comfort food that doesn't leave you feeling gross/heavy after and reminds you of an amazing home-cooked meal. This is the first google review I've ever written- and it's because I had the most incredible experience at this establishment, and I truly believe everyone should try this place!I got the single box which comes with 1 main and 3 sides. For my main I decided to get the pulled chicken sandwich which was incredible. I love how they put the pulled chicken in a little container separate from the perfectly sliced bun so the bun doesn't get soggy and spillage is reduced. For one side, I got mac and cheese and it was absolutely fantastic and well balanced. The cheese to pasta ratio was perfect- it wasn't overwhelmingly cheesy and the pasta was also perfectly cooked. I also got the strawberry arugula salad which was delicious. I'm not a fan of arugula but it looked so tempting, and I'm so happy I tried it as I loved it. Can't believe this place actually made me enjoy arugula. The salad was so fresh and light, and had so much flavor making it a great balance to the sandwich and Mac and cheese. I also had to get the brown butter roasted carrots as my last side, and it was fantastic. There was so much flavor and the carrots were perfectly cooked adding the perfect crunch to my meal. We ended with the coconut tapioca pudding, which was so delicious. It was so light yet creamy and had such a fresh taste of coconut. Everything was so fresh and seasoned perfectly. I don't think you could go wrong with any option on the menu as all the options were phenomenal. They also offer so many options- I can't wait to come back and try more of their specialties. This is the best go-to take out spot! They offer build your own boxes as well as balanced preset meals. The service was also outstanding, the workers are incredibly kind and are very helpful. Guy Fieri has supported this restaurant for good reasons- it's amazing. In addition, you can't miss it as it was ranked in Yelp's top 100 restaurants in Orange County. For those days when you're craving comfort food and you're exhausted from your day- skip the fast food and come here, you won't be disappointed. Genuinely found my new favorite to-go spot for a well-balanced, delicious, and comforting meal ◡̈
Hai Master Kitchen

Boo boo Woks Grill. When I lived in Laguna Hills I was craving some simple takeout Chinese Food. I did not expect great service or high quality food, but Woks manage to fail on both categories. When I first walked in with my friend, some asian lady looked at us and walked away. Hmm I didnt think didnt think much of this. Then another gentleman walked up to the counter with a can I help you? look. It took me a little time because I didnt really see anything that looked delicious, but I was determine to give this place a try, dont know why. After finally finding some kung pao chicken there wasnt enough left so I asked how long will it take to make. The guy said dont worry only about 10 minutes. I thought perfect I will have some fresh food. The server was refilling the entrees that were displayed. I noticed he was bring out some fresh fried wings. I asked the man can I get that as my second item, because I had ordered a combo and was waiting for the first item. The lady came back out and said NO YOU CANNOT HAVE THAT. I was thinking wtf?At this point I was thinkin about leaving and going next store to get Mexican food. My friend and I were still shocked about what happend. Fifteen minutes, later when my first order was done we were still waiting for some spicy chicken to finish, but the man offered to give us twice the chicken because it took a while. We thought sure awesome. After checking out and returning home. I noticed he did double the order gave twice as much teryaki chicken (i didnt order that style) with no sauce. As I ate the nasty TC I have ever tasted. I thought forget it. I stopped eating and left the food and decided to toss it. I was so displeased I didnt even think about how the rest tasted or the fact that I hate wasting money.WORST Restaurant ever Award! Run Run and never come back. Dont even park near this restaurant.
Pita Pita
23052 Lake Forest Dr b2, Laguna Hills, CA 92653, United States
I dine out everyday so I am always on the look out for eateries that offer dishes which both taste good and are also healthy. This places Mediterranean food high on my list of frequented restaurants.I have eaten at Pita Pita a number of times over the past few years. It was never a favorite, but it was a good place for a change of pace. In the past I would have given Pita Pita a 4 star rating.Maybe it is a bit unfair to compare a fast-food Mediterranean eatery with a genuine, full-service restaurant, but these are my only experiences. As such, Pita Pita has dropped to a 3 star rating for the following reasons:Food quality - still 4 starCleanliness and atmosphere - still 4 starService - was 4 star, now 2 star and this is why I feel this way:In the past you entered the restaurant and walked past a line of food servers who were helpful and asked you for your preferences as you passed down the line. You could see the food, ask opinions of the various servers, choose different toppings and sauces, etc.Now that area is blocked off with obscure glass panels and you interact with one order taker making you feel like you just drove up to the drive-through window at McDonalds. When I asked this young gentleman why this change he said it was because of COVID and will likely be permanent now. I regularly frequent many restaurants that now have returned to normal, and I feel comfortable once again with the warm atmosphere. Conversely, Pita Pita now feels like a cold, corporate run food factory.I ordered the steak pita and a spinach salad. In the past there would be many questions asking about various toppings. This time I was served my meal in what appears to be take-out containers, offered no choice of toppings, and I had to return to the cashier because they didn't even ask if I wanted tzatziki sauce for my steak pita.My meal cost me $23.00 for the steak pita (which came with home made potato chips), a small side spinach salad (about the size of a large bar of soap), and a fountain drink. True, this was far less costly than a quality Mediterranean restaurant, but after my recent experience here I do not believe I will be frequenting this establishment again in the future.I will miss the potato chips.
Taco Bell
24888 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills, CA 92653, United States
This Taco Bell opened up 8 months ago and I absolutely love this location. I showed up 5 min before close and told the gentleman, Jose M., that I would order something simple since theyre about to close but he said something along the lines of No, order anything you want we got a few minutes so I had a nacho bel grande, hard taco, Chipotle chicken taco well done, 2 Cinnabon delights, and all of them came out perfect with a perfect distribution of ingredients. I asked for a water, he gave me a large one with a lid and straw knowing that I had my German Shepherd in the car next to me. Gave me a few more sauces then I needed and extra napkins. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfect! Even the lettuce tasted nicely fresh and the main test for me was how the well done requested item was going to turn out and that was perfect!! The best part about this whole pleasant experience for me was that when I was about to drive off after receiving the order I took a look inside the bag to make sure everything was right and Jose M was right there and waiting in a way that wasnt for me to leave, but in that he wanted to make sure I was satisfied! What a great environment and great culture here. I highly recommend it!! If you read this and enjoyed my review tell Jose M that you read Persian Chris review and send my hello!!!Jose M - Thank you for your excellency for you are a great example of an exemplary employee and valuable asset to this company, and for my neighborhood!

Tacos De Birria Estilo Guadalajara
23802 Avenida De La Carlota, Laguna Hills, CA 92653, United States
Want tacos? Check. Want it authentic? Check. Made Guadalajara style birria. I honestly didn't know what to expect, it was a quick find. And you know what? I know that I will definitely find myself here again! It's in the St George church. It's a small stand that's in the Sunday church area where there's a bunch of tables set up. I had a feeling I was in for a pleasant surprise just because of the way it was set up with the street tacos style. I had the birria taco, the birria with cheese taco, and the longanisa taco all with the additional consommé dip. We waited for maybe less than five minutes for our 4 orders. They came out quick and the tacos themselves were looking as street and authentic as you would look forward to have. The tortilla was crispy, and when it was a mixture of the cilantro, onion, and side addition of the lemon juice, oh my goodness. The meat? Oh my goodness. It was symphony of flavor in my mouth, thank you for the wonderful dinner and the happy tummy. Don't miss out on a gem like this that would otherwise be overlooked!Let's go!!
Romano Cucina
25214 Cabot Rd, Laguna Hills, CA 92653, United States
Review update: I still love this place. The food and service are still great. Its just getting harder and harder to get a table without waiting an hour or more. Thats great for business. I just refuse to wait more than 30 minutes for a table, no matter how good the food is. The last 4 or 5 times weve tried to eat here, we ended leaving and going somewhere else because of the long wait.Original review:I have nothing against Peppinos, Salvatore, or other quality Italian restaurants in town, but Roman Cucina is simply my favorite. In fact, I would say it is my favorite restaurant, Italian or otherwise. The food and the service are always top notch. The chicken marsala with cream sauce is not on the menu, but if the kitchen has marsala wine on hand, they will make it for you. I cant eat chicken marsala anywhere else now. Thanks Roman Cucina!!! The shrimp scampi is also incredible. The cannoli is just as unbeatable as the chicken marsala. The staff are very professional and classy. I feel like I should be paying a lot more for the experience, but Im glad I dont. The one downside to this place (at least the Laguna Hills location) is that the dining room is a bit small. It can get crowded and a bit loud, but the food and service are worth it.If somehow I were forced to eat at only one restaurant for the rest of my life, I would not hesitate to choose Roman Cucina.
Chaupain Bakery
24401 Ridge Rte Dr b104, Laguna Hills, CA 92653, United States
Emotionality aside, because yes, the people were nice, and one wants to reward them for it, but at the end of the day all those high praises were not justified, because the selections we picked from turned out to be much less than 5 Stars. Sometimes you see 5 Stars in abundance, and then a rare 3 Stars, or even 2 Stars, and one thinks that those reviews were posted by naysayers. Well, not really, because after trying the goods for a tune of $50 plus combined, the results for us were definitely not 5 Stars, not even 4. Items purchased:3 kind of Baguettes at $3+ each? The regular very nice, soft inside, a little crunchy outside, nicely baked (not too light, not too dark). 4.5 Stars. Olive Baguette: dark beyond repair, toasted at the ends. This dark statement has a lot to do with this place, perhaps too long in the oven? This olive baguette 2.5 Stars. Sourdough Baguette (bought 2) better than the olive, not as good as their regular. 3.5 Stars.Pumpkin Muffin, $2.15+? Bought 2, received banana instead. Let's just say Costco's put these ones to shame. 2.5 Stars.Almond Croissant, $4.30 each? Dark beyond understanding. Bulky, and the almond paste inside ratio was 5 to 10%. See attached photo. Croissant inside nice, since it was mostly sweetened dough. This is not excellence by a long shot, which makes one wonder where all those perfect reviews validate themselves. 3 Stars. The dough is the same in multiple items, the baking technique were the products look definitely dark, and when I asked the nice lady why so dark, she replied that it was normal due to the dough. I arched my eyebrows and held my peace. Here is a good point: if Chaupin is a 5 Stars, then the best bakery from France is a 15 Stars. I went there based on the glowing reviews, and by all means, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but pretty please, slow down on the 5 Stars, it is a little disappointing to arrive and find out it isn't so. Bought also Scones, Lemon Tart, etc. 2.5 Stars.

Our first time here and all I can say is YUMMY! This is a one woman restaurant with superior homemade food. They have turkey, tuna, vegetarian and vegan options. We had a roasted vegetable wrap, an avocado wrap and a lentil soup. All were fresh and delicious. We will definitely be making this a habit.
