Pho Pioneer Restaurant
17701 Pioneer Blvd, Artesia, CA 90701, United States
This spot my brother originally discovered, it became our spot. It is still here after all these years. And still as good as its been.I am here now in 2022 and I must say there is just something about Pho Pioneers food. The noodles. The plates. The rolls. It just all is great quality and tasty. Especially if you compare it to the place down the street (I will leave nameless) that I recently only tried cause it was open really late.Pho Pioneer is it in this area.Oh, yeah did I say its delicious? Simple as that. Ive tried most of the items on the menu and again, its delicious and the quality is amazing. So flavorful. Not like the place down the street I will leave nameless.Try them. Ignore everything else but the food and you will not be disappointed. Trust me.Note: my partner is picky with food and even she loves this place.

It is a fine restaurant with fine Vietnamese menus and service. I suppose that most of my Vietnamese restaurants feel about the same. I havent been to a bad one so definitely a place to visit if you want Vietnamese food.

Where have all the good men gone?At Pho Little Saigon?Wheres the Viet-wise Hercules? To eat the steaming pho till its gone? - parody of Holding Out For A Hero, Bonnie TylerFormerly Pho Jackie, Pho Little Saigon has been one of my go-to to-go pho places locally. Im in the shopping plaza regularly, as Im usually at the 99 Cent Only store in search of good finds. After a brisk shopping spree, I headed to Pho Little Saigon for some soul soothing soup.#2 House Special Combination Pho, large-With a broth that was light, yet with a distinct taste which Im unclear as to what it was, the combo pho was nice & plenty in the portion dept. The various cuts of meat were tender & juicy. I always ask for extra bean sprouts, and Pho Little Saigon had no problem fulfilling my request. I was told the wait would be 5 minutes, and my to-go order of pho came out at about the designated time.Service was good. I asked and was given water to drink while waiting for my order. I saw a container of whey protein behind the register and jokingly asked How much do you charge for a scoop of whey protein powder in my pho? Ample seating via handsome bamboo furniture. Flatscreen TVs available for diners viewing pleasure.Parking is at the Artesia Town Centre, which can be packed during the prime hours, shared by Bakers & Baristas, Tampopo, Sweetee Thai & other businesses. With a lot of options for pho around Cerritos/Artesia, Pho Little Saigon shouldnt be overlooked when youre in search of soup or other Vietnamese dish. Prices are competitive, and service is friendly & hospitable. With a 5 minutes turn around for pho, customers can quickly get in & out when pressed for time. During my next visit, I might just dine in & try one of their highly regarded rice dishes, ending my meal with a refreshing smoothie or 3 bean drink.Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

Rice noodles are pretty good, but the stir fried pin rice noodles were a bit bland; they just opened pretty recently though, so Im willing to give them a bit more time to make adjustments before I rate them more seriously on taste. Service staff is mostly very helpful and good, but our specific waitress was a bit less so. We ordered steamed bean sprouts with our rice noodles but still hadnt gotten them by the time we were halfway through eating. We reminded our waitress about them, and she came back with fresh (raw) bean sprouts. The only reason I didnt dock more stars for her is because the rest of the wait staff were very good and kind of made up for her.

I had a random craving for Lees Coffee and a croissant, so I came to this Lees Sandwiches. I had an overall really good experience at the Downey location, so I was hoping that it would be the same here at a more local location like this one in Artesia. I had a few problems here. The only good thing that this location has going for it is how nice and spacious the inside of the it is; it looked very professional and they have it set up so that you can do a tiny bit of food and drink shopping before you get something off of their menu.1) The Downey location had a GREAT drink selection. I went there just for the coffee and there were so many things that I wanted to try the next time I went there. For such a nice-looking and big location, the drink selection at the Artesia location was so small that it seemed rather embarrassing. There were only a few tea options, few juice and smoothie options, and decent variations with the coffee. They need to step it up.2) This was my biggest issue with this location and possibly the restaurant chainas a whole if this is the case at every location. When I went to the one in Downey, I noticed that they used A LOT of ice in their fantastic Iced Coffee. Upwards of 80% of the cup was filled with ice. Remembering this, I asked for a Large Iced Coffee with light ice. I was told by the cashier that if I did that, then Id have to pay more for it. Are you confused as I am about this? Let me explain. From what I gathered from the cashier, they specifically have to go by the recipe. This recipe calls for only 8 ounces of coffee (I assumed that the rest is just ice and a large cup is about 16 ounces). Because of this, getting light ice would mean that I would have to pay more to add more coffee to it ($1 to $2 more). This is the ONLY restaurant or beverage store that Ive ever been to that does this, and thats beyond ridiculous. On the inside, I was very annoyed by this, but I was curious as to what would happen if I was okay with this, so I happily agreed to it. What was even more frustrating is what they gave me; as you can see in the picture of the coffee, all they seemed to have done was add less coffee since it was the same amount of ice that they normally use. Lees Sandwiches need to let this constraint in the recipe go so that people can enjoy the coffee more and customize it to their liking. Nobody should be paying upwards of almost $6 for an Iced Coffee thats really 50% coffee and 50% water. If theyre doing this with their other drinks, then that needs to end as well.3) The last issue I had at this location was the size of the croissant sandwiches. I bought 2, one was a sausage, egg and cheese, and the other was a ham, egg, and cheese. The second picture is for reference. The Downey location had a bigger croissant (maybe by 30%) and the price wasnt that much different. On top of that, there wasnt much meat inside of it to justify an almost $5 price point.Overall, I can only give this location 2 stars. Id give it 1 star, but the croissant sandwich was great despite its size and lack of the meats, the Lees Iced Coffee usually doesnt disappoint outside of the issue that I presented, and the establishment looks very nice inside. Otherwise, this would be a 1-star review.
PHO 2000

In the Year 2000After shopping at 99 Ranch Market, I oftentimes drop by for a meal at Pho 2000. Whether it be the pho with the works or one of the various rice combo plates, such as the marinated pork and the chili lemongrass chicken, Ive enjoyed everything Ive had here.Service has always been friendly. The attendants have always been at the ready with drink refills or whatever else I may need.A good amount of seating available for small to large groups. Parking is in the 99 Ranch Market plaza, shared by various businesses. Very busy during the weekends, so make sure to plan ahead.Delicious food, low prices & complimentary tapioca dessert, Pho 2000 satisfies my Vietnamese food fix whenever I stop in.Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
NAM Kitchen
1530 Artesia Blvd, Gardena, CA 90248, United States
Today was our second visit to Nam Vietnamese Kitchen.Being a Vietnamese who can cook excellent pho myself, I will admit that his pho is by far better than anything I have tasted in Gardena or even in Garden Grove area restaurants. The service and attention to customers need are top notch where you are welcomed and appreciated.Furthermore, the decoration and details make the place feel chic and classy. We had the pleasure of meeting Chef Nam himself. He took his time to speak with me and valued feedback from customers so that that he can make necessary adjustments to make his carefully crafted dishes even better. Also, the restaurants fusion drink menu is a must try because everything we have tried was of high quality and tasty.Specifically, we had the matcha (premium grade shipped from Kyoto) coconut drink that impressed our Japanese friends we had with us.In addition, he said that he adjusts his broth every few hours so that the yummy consistent taste stays throughout the day from the first bowl to the last. For food, we ordered 4 bowls of pho dac biet, 1 beef fried rice, and 1 pear salad with special grape dressing (my wife hates salad and yet she ordered it back to back). All of them yummy. On our first visit, the general manager also came over and asked for feedback. They definitely cared for feedbacks to make their one of the kind Vietnamese restaurant even better!!

What an amazing place for Pho! Not only the broth was so good but the service was outstanding! First time I went to a Vietnamese restaurant that the server explains their menu highlight, they even asked if I was 1st time customer to offer me a free dessert. HIGHLY recommended

Their Euro (Europen) Roast Beef and Turkey Sandwich on a Croissant is delicious. The delicious Croissant and other ingredients made the sandwich so delicious I did not need to add mustard or the delicious sour pickle spear that came with it.I ate the pickle spear separately. It tasted more like a good kosher pickle such as Claussen than pickles that have too much vinegar taste.Their plain Croissant with nothing on it is also delicious. And their sweet sesame balls are delicious. The staff was courteous and friendly. The restaurant is very clean and quiet. It is located on the west end of a long strip shopping mall with lots of parking and with other restaurants and food businesses.
