Pho King Good
1501 Grass Valley Hwy, Auburn, CA 95603, United States
Update March 2024. Its still the best restaurant in Auburn IMHO. Now they have a curry beef stew that is awesome. Otherwise everything is just consistently wonderful. My wife and I loved our first meal at Pho King. I had the Pho and she had the Mi La Cay noodles. We also ordered the new crepe appetizer. Every bit was delicious. The Pho broth was outstanding. The wait-person said that it was from simmering beef bones all night long. It tasted like it. The noodle dish was very creative, not like all the other Vietnamese restaurants. The people running this place seemed to really know what theyre doing and the menu is full of creative surprises. We will be back to sample more things. Now its October 2019 and wife and I are regulars. The husband wife team who owns and runs the place--see may be your waiter too--are very creative chefs. Be prepared for innovative and creative new dishes each time you come. This is the most interesting restaurant weve found in Auburn.
Pho Tasty

I had the Phở Dặc Biệt and a Cà Phê Sữa Đá.The Pho was good, including the proper ingredients that I am used to. Broth can use a little work but I dont think they start cooking at 3 am to prepare broth like Im used to. Very long process when doing it how I enjoy.Cà Phê Sữa Đá was decent but that is my thing as I am used to it a bit stronger. Each place makes it different. I personally add a dash of msg and use a different coffee slowly dripped (5-10 min a cup). The ladys name is ally and she is totally awesome and yes I will return when I can to try other things. Most wont eat or drink the way I like it. Hence why I gave it 4 of 5 stars. But if it was how Im used to and crave I would gladly give them 5 stars.Definitely 100X better than P.K.G.A bit of my vietnamese cuisine experience is from Little Saigon SoCal where I would eat Vietnamese food almost daily for about 10 Years. I have also helped at a couple restaurants where my friends family owned them. I Have also explored many areas including san jose, Sacramento and here in auburn along with other areas.

The Station Public House
750 Lincoln Way St.100, Auburn, CA 95603, United States
Weve had several great visits to The Station Public House over the past few months. They have been operating with walk-up counter service and open outdoor seating. Their staff are always very helpful with picking out a beer to drink or even customizing a menu item as needed. The seating area is terraced and landscaped which provides some nice distance from others and creates a little meandering courtyard experience. They have plenty of shade umbrellas and water misting to keep everyone cool. We have brought our well-behaved dog and felt very welcome with him. They do have a several signs showing the welcoming of pets. They also have signs saying that children must remain seated and are only welcome between certain hours. There are adults walking around with drinks and servers also trying to navigate the area so its probably a good thing to keep the children from running around. They have a decent selection of local craft beers and wine. They are not a brewery so they dont have anything of their own. The food is all scratch so it can take some time to get it out to the tables...but its well worth the wait. All of the burgers and sandwiches we have had were exceptional. The Cubano sandwich was very enjoyable and not at all spicy...just cheesy salty goodness. the Smokestack Burger was also delicious and flavorful. The black bean burger was good too. The pub chips are fresh and flavorful but the fries are good too. They can be busy at times and its not a good place to go if you are in a rush. You need to plan time to take it all in at an enjoyable pace. This is a GREAT addition to Auburn and we hope to visit The Station Public House frequently!

This is where I take my animals. Super sweet and kind people here. Always busy though. You just sit in your car and call them. Then they come get your animal. Its affordable and you get your answer . My cat has diabetes and so Ive had to go a few times. Finally I got my cat insulin and shes on her treatment. Shes so much better. Thankyou.
Bobos Cafe

We are on a mission to try every restaurant in Auburn at least once. We shouldve skipped this one. Just go up the street- infinitely better. The food here was sparse and flavorless. The fresh spring rolls were only rice noodles, romaine, Bean sprouts and a shrimp cut in half. No mint, no flavor. The entrees were also disappointing. #54 - Majority rice noodles, 2 ounces pork and 2 shrimp, 1 sprig of cilantro, a bit of lettuce. The egg roll was good. The Vietnamese crepe (specialty dish) was crispy but flavorless. How?!!We were given some seasoned rice vinegar, hoisin with some peanuts on top and Sriracha/garlic chili as our options to try to flavor our food. Im just shocked at what we were served. How is this Vietnamese food? The server was nice, the restaurant itself is dated and just OK. We really wanted to like it, but we wont be back.
