MSG fans - don't read my review. I'm biased.2.5 Star. Overall. For the Anti-MSG people- don't bother coming here. Everything on the menu is pre-made and soaked with MSG. The only item on the menu that I can find to consume the least amount of MSG was the spring rolls. But you'll have to skip the sauce dipping.1 Star. $5.75 Kid's Rice BBQ dish. Rice was too hard, very hard to swallow, much less for my 3-year-old to consume. The Pork BBQ is drenched with MSG. I took 3 tiny bites and can't handle it anymore. 15 minutes later, already feeling the msg coma. Egg roll was the only thing edible though still loaded with MSG.3 Star. $3.95 Spring Rolls 2 pc. Fresh veggies taste, but the shrimp tastes stale and left out for too long. Had a bad fish taste to it. On the border of 2.5 Star due to shrimp not being fresh. It was the only decent item on the menu. Though it's hard to eat without sauce, so the msg was unavoidable.4 Star. Service & Atmosphere. Clean, fresh, looks renovated. Bright. Fast service. No complaints.Other. I don't understand how this place is getting a 4.5 star review. Must be from everyone who cannot live without MSG.

This is a Vietnamese restaurant and most of the dishes are good. There are a lot of people here for lunch, and the portions are enough. I couldn’t even name a rice noodle, but it still tasted great. I always thought that sandwiches were unique to European and American restaurants, but I didn’t expect that they also have sandwiches here, and the prices are not expensive., the side dishes are quite unique and worth a try. Although there are many people, the speed is still very fast, so you won’t have to wait too long even if you are hungry. This is a Vietnamese restaurant and most of the dishes are good. I grew up coming here but ran into a problem this week. We had a larger group of people arrive on bicycles. They werent very good at communicating with us even though we called/emailed them about possibly finding a place to park our bikes.Keep in mind we brought over 60 people on bikes. If we all drove, that would equate to at least 20-30 vehicles/parking spaces. We could easily park within 3-4 parking spaces or the many empty lots around the parking area. Oddly enough, they said those spaces/areas do not belong to the temple. So they belong to L.A. County Parks and Recreation (the temple runs right next to the Portola Hiking/Biking Trail)?Out of respect for the temple regardless of the lack of communication, we parked downhill and walked up. However, about a dozen rode up to see if they can lock up their bikes. They were all told to leave and that bicycles are not allowed. What? This is a parking lot. Their reasoning is that they cannot be held responsible for the bicycles. Well, whats the reasoning behind allowing cars?Ive lived overseas and have biked to temples in China. Its a form of sustainable and healthy transportation. Many people cannot afford to drive a car so a bicycle is another option. It seems that the decision for multiple security guards to come over to tell families and visitors to just leave is not what comes to mind when I visit a place of worship. Its not that I am upset that they dont like people on bikes, Im just unhappy to know that a place of worship that I attend very often thought it was a good idea to turn away visitors without looking at amicable resolutions. It was just easier to tell people to go away. The temple itself already brings tons of traffic and congestion on Hacienda Blvd during holidays. Our goal was to get there on bikes so that we dont contribute to traffic, pollution, and parking issues. Hsi Lai Temple prides themselves in being sustainable, simple, and compassionate. I felt like their reaction to us was not a reflection of that at all.I hope the temple staff review this policy but I seriously doubt it. We all went there to learn more about Chinese culture, Buddhism, and to dine at the buffet. I have since emailed my concerns to the staff via Facebook and email. I have yet to receive any acknowledgement or response.

I used to come here and eat a dozen 12 christys doughnuts when I was 21 years old and christys doughnuts is cash only. They now opened a new vietnamese Pho Van restaurant here and their pho was not that bad. The Mexican seafood restaurant here Los Cabos Tacos y Mariscos I never tried in my life used to be KFC 12 years ago.

Great place with numerous services and food. Dont forget Subway and a Vietnamese bakery. Delicious. I was about 21 when I began eating at Vitos Italian deli. In those days a great restaurant and a shoe cobbler.
99 Ranch Market
1625 S Azusa Ave, Hacienda Heights, CA 91745, United States
I love the 99 Ranch Market. But the staff at this location is horrible. I understand that we are currently in a pandemic and public safety requires face mask. Half of the face mask people are using right now is useless. I saw a lot of people without gloves and touching things and putting them back. When we entered the store, an employee was kind enough to whip down and clean the cart i was about to use for my shopping. HE did not in any way shape or form tried to stop me. I can assure you that plenty of employees working there saw me without masks and did not say or do anything. I was in this store for an hour walking around looking for groceries just like I would at any other grocery store. Just before I finished looking around the store I was finally ready to go and purchase my groceries. A man from store and asked if I had a mask and I said no, Im sorry I dont and I was let in without a mask. And he just walked away. A second person came along and asked the same thing. I told him that I didnt have mask and if I did require a mask then why was I let in without a mask. Mind you I was in this store for one hour. Then a lady comes and started to say something to me and I did not understand a word she said. But I understood was that I could not purchase the items I picked out with my bare hands. Items that had been in my cart for an hour. Now, I dont think this lady who took my items that I picked with my bare hands is going to throw away those items. I believe she is going to place them back on the shelves for other people to pick from the shelves. Im not saying I may be contaminated but she is going to restock items that were touched by me, a person whom didnt wear a mask and gloves for and hour in the store. I am not happy with the staff from this location. A lot of people were not practicing social distancing and I didnt see them get removed from the store like i did and I do not appreciate it because it was unnecessary. Again, horrible customer service from this location.
Four SeaSi Hai - Hacienda Heights

It is not dim sum, its Taiwanese breakfast!Ive been coming here for years and the quality has not changed. Although I love this place, it could get a little messy dining here and ordering can be difficult if you dont speak Mandarin. Ive attached a photo of my receipt, so you can use it to point and order. I would encourage all my fellow yelpers to upload receipt to help each other out!The set up is quite simple, but theres no climate control in here. I dont think the heater or AC has ever been on, but thats how they decide to save money. They open everyday at 6am, so make sure to bundle up if youre dining here in the early mornings. The best thing about this place is their take out, super convenient! It usually takes about 10mins on average, unless youre ordering during peak time on weekends. Here are my favorite things to order:Salty Rice Rolls:The center has fried bread covered with dried pork song and pickled veggies. The whole thing is then rolled in rice (think sushi) thats always the perfect texture and warm.Egg Covered Tortilla:This is a very simple dish, but its one of my favorites! Think of scrambled eggs with green onions being cooked and then layering a tortilla above it. They then wrap it up and then cut it into bite size for you, love! If you love eggs and tortilla, get it!Fried Radish Cake:Another one of my loves, but be warned that this dish can get a little too garlicky. Its basically a turnip cake mix in squares and pan fried. I know turnip cake sounds really odd, but its sooo good! I always ask them to cook it a little longer, so its extra crispy. Worth the extra 2min wait!Sweet Soy Milk:Their soy milk is the BOMB! Always Fresh. You can order it hot, warm, or cold. I would suggest ordering it warm if you are hitting the road and ready to drink it ASAP because if you order it HOT, its literally boiling temperature! Ive burned my tongue many times before because of this, but I love HOT drinks. PS, you can also order Salt Soy Milk, but I dont have much to write about that since I never get it.Sweet Bread with Onion Egg:This is basically a steamed sweet bread with the scrambled egg with green onions jammed in the middle (same thing they use for the Egg covered Tortilla). Think of ham and cheese we use to put in between sandwiches, same thing but eggs. A very simple dish, but tasty if you want a bit of sweet and salty.I hope this helps with your future orders. I would definitely recommend starting with these items and then venturing out! Till next time.....
