The shrimp pad Thai is pretty decent here. I would have liked some peanuts but otherwise I liked the shrimp size, sauce, and egg amount.

Been eating here going back 10+ years. Always delicious. Hadnt been for several years, started going again post pandemic, and was asked if I wanted my usual custom dish. What a welcome!!! Great food, great service!!! Inside and outside covered seating. Really nice people!!!

I like that place quite a bit. The food is good and spicy, although I limit myself to medium, in regards to spiciness level (could go hotter but then Id have to deal with the heartburn). The waitress, who could be the owner, is super nice and always smiling.Its best to get there early for lunch because it gets packed quickly, compounding the fact that the place is small. If you get there at 12, you will probably have to wait 10-15min to get your dish. Its not a problem but something to be aware of.

Im sorry but I do rate my thai places by their pad Thai. That is my one standard. I enjoy a wet flavorful pad Thai. The pad Thai here is dry and flavorless. Ill try again though. Just in case theres a chef on a different schedule.

The food was just okay. I had the Devil Wings and also ordered a Green Curry. The curry was delicious but the Devil Wings were not so good. They were drowned in batter and the batter was very hard. The meat itself was good, but it would have been better if they were not immersed into Sweet Chili Sauce. That ruined the flavor. Other than that, the service was also okay. Nothing to scream wow though.

Very unassuming storefront, I just about walked in to Metro City Sports Bar & Grill by mistake and my co-worker had to steer me over to the Barn Thai entrance. Fairly plain interior, our server was so nice and laughed at our corny and barely funny jokes.Only 2 of us on Tuesday nite, seated immediately, only one other couple at the time. We ordered the Crispy Thai fried wings, the roasted duck curry and the shrimp & fish curry, with hot jasmine tea. Barely a 10 min wait and we were served.The aroma of the dishes was so intoxicating (maybe the fact that were famished made it better 😉). Wings came first so we attacked them - they were crispy outside, very hot to the touch and only a hint of spiciness. I think it could have used more spiciness/heat, but they were tasty not overcooked and 6 wings for the 2 of us guys seemed not enough. However with the rest of the dinner, it really was just right.We shared the duck and fish/shrimp curries. The duck curry was very sweet (a little too sweet for my taste) and I think that overpowered the curry flavor. It was very good, savory but just too sweet. The duck had nice roasted taste, although I think it was just a bit overcooked, it wasnt tough, just slightly overcooked. I would order it again and request for less sugar and more curry (cuz I like the flavor). My coworker said he liked it just fine.🙂He must have more of a sweet tooth than me.The fish & shrimp curry had more of a curry flavor, the shrimp looked 👌 really good, but I couldnt eat it 😫 due to my gout. The fish was a non descript white fish (maybe some type of cod) and definitely NOT overcooked and very tasty. I thought the sauce was too salty, probably could cut it by 50% for my taste (then again, my diet has less salt and any dish my wife and I do not prepare ourselves is a little too salty for me).Great dinner, terrific companion and fun and friendly service - we will go back.

Barn Thai is my all-time favorite Thai place!! Sandy, the woman who runs it, is the sweetest person I’ve ever met. She’s so wholesome and makes the entire experience so lovely! Their food is sooo delicious! I try a new dish every time I go there and it’s always really special. I would 100% recommend to anybody looking for delicious Thai food and a wholesome experience.

Barn Thai is the best Thai food restaurant. We order from here every Friday for Thai Fri and the whole studio loves it. The customer service is impeccable and we are greeted with smiles and quality food. I recommend the Yellow Curry and also the Mango Sticky Rice.

Great Thai flavors, food has always been fresh, small but welcoming ambiance inside, reasonably priced for the area. Everything here follows the Thai food principles of the four flavor balance and is quite tasty - even the soup served before your meal is very full of flavor. Can get busy on Thu and Fri at lunch so there can be a wait - recommend getting there early. Presentation of the food is great and portions are hearty, good selection of both authentic and Americanized Thai dishes on the menu for lunch and dinner - they also have desserts and Thai Iced Tea - something for everyone.

Barn Thai has the best Thai food in the Bay Area. I could eat at Barn Thai for the rest of my life and not get tired of it (I’ve ordered takeout from here 3 times in the past week and I’ll probably do it again tonight.) If you’re looking for some bomb coconut soup, spicy basil chicken, yellow curry, and pad see ew, you’ve come to the right place. The owner is super kind, hard-working, and friendly, and always makes my family and I feel welcome. This is a small business that needs your support, and you won’t be disappointed!

Our family has went to Barn Thai for many family celebrations. The food is very good, if it is not hot enough for you ask for the hot chili powder. Havent eaten anything there that I didnt like. Family run and they are really very friendly. I would definitely recommend Barn Thai if you want good Thai food.

A small family run Thai restaurant with decent food, but service was pretty slow on a Friday evening even though the small restaurant was only half full. We were forewarned about the wait by the waitress so maybe I shouldnt fault them for that, but it does seem like they are understaffed. Pad see ew was pretty good, but heavy on the noodles. Coconut ice cream is served as a snowman, which kids would love.

Nice place and lot to like about the ambience. The service could be better as we had to wait quite a bit to get our order, food and the cheque. I ordered the penang curry with tofu which was good. My friend had the yellow curry with salmon, he asked for extra spicy and thats all the flavor it had, so make sure you dont ask for extra spicy.

Loved Barn Thai! I came here for lunch on 5/13 and sat at a table outside. Theyre not currently handing out menus, you have to look at the menu board then order. I got the pad see ew with tofu and it was delicious! Lots and lots of egg and fresh broccoli - a lot of vegetarian pad see ew is skimpy on the veggies but Barn Thais had plenty. The server was sweet and attentive. Definitely recommend this place!

Food inexpensive and very good. A bit crowded at lunch time given the surrounding Apple and Google offices. No chili tray, but they did have chili paste, possibly house-made, since it was hotter and different than I have seen before. Chilled water in a nice goblet.

This little gem is run by the nicest couple, and their food is the best Thai food we’ve found in the Sunnyvale/Mt View area. Our favorites include the satay chicken, pad see ew, and green curry. Plus, our 5 & 7 year old kids love it too!

Disappointing experience I & my family encountered. My son was hungry and we decided to come to Barn Thai since it’s near our hotel where we stayed. The lady didn’t great us and just took our order and I was surprised with her lack of service. I noticed when an American customer came in and she greeted them followed by another American couple that came in shortly and she greeted them again... I felt that just because we Asians she treated us differently and when I paid she didn’t bother to even say thank you! Bad customer service and she is racist!

Ive been a customer here for almost 5 years now and visit them at least once a month. The food is delicious and service is quick. What to watch out for (1) wait times can be long between 12pm and 1pm, especially on Fridays (2) and spicy is VERY spicy. Youve been warned.

Every 6-12 months we question why we keep coming back here. Maybe we should try a new Thai restaurant we think to ourselves. Every single time we regret the decision. Everything on the menu is delicious! Dont let their empty tables at dinner and decor scare you away. (Most of their business is lunch). Support this small family owned business!

Very friendly staff, but they can get overloaded during the lunch rush and may take 10 minutes to take your order. If you go outside of the 12-12:45pm block, service is great, and the food comes out in cute arrangements (a volcano, smiley face, etc).

I used to come here several times a year for lunch. The most recent visit was such an unpleasant experience.The food was OK, but the service was terrible.My friend and I waited a while to get a table, which was OK since this place is always crowded during lunch time. But after we sit down, 30 mins past and we asked and asked and asked, the waitress did not come to serve us. And when she finally did, I complained that we waited so long, her response was do you want to order, or do you want to complain? I was like excuse me? This is the rudest response ever! And when I pointed out the fact that the table next to us almost finished eating, and they were sit down after us, her self-defense was: well, they are a bigger table of 6... meaning, more tip?I just could not take her any more from that point. Definitely not going back, ever.

Went here for lunch...big mistake. Place was packed, which made us think Okay, good place for lunch. We are sat at the only table left open in this small place.And then we waited...20 minutes for anyone to even take our order. Very bad start on a lunch setting where most people are dealing with time crunches. A little expediency would be expected. They never even bothered asking how spicy we wanted things.15 minutes after ordering our food and drinks, we finally get the Thai Iced Teas and some Tom Yum soup that consisted of liquid with a tiny number of cabbage bits floating in it. Im used to Tom Yum that actually contains more than just...broth and cabbage.Another 10-15 minutes later, we finally get our food...first me, then a few minutes later, my table partner finally gets his.The egg roll was about as thick as if theyd wrapped the roll wrapper around my finger. The food itself was all noodle/sauce with very little else. I had the Pad See Ieew there (no Thai place Ive been to spells it the same way), with chicken. There was a small scattering of green in the noodles...and an equially small scattering of chicken. Taste was nothing special and due to the length of time they took to bring it to me, we both had to rush to eat our food without waiting for it to cool. My partners food was even worse off. They, had ordered a dish with chicken as well. It came out mostly tofu instead, with a little tasting of chicken like the cooks thought it was a tofu order and then instead of fixing the error, just threw a little chicken in.All told, I will not be back here...for lunch or any other meal of the day. I have no clue why this place was as packed as it was nor how it gets such great reviews with the service/food as it is. Food was very unremarkable. Edible, didnt taste bad, was cooked fairly well, but nothing special here.

The food was okay. The Pad Thai wasnt bad, just didnt taste like Pad Thai. Not a hint of acidity, umami, or sweetness, let alone from tamarind, fish sauce, or palm sugar(and definitely no chai po), but the noodles werent stuck together or greasy and it was the right type of noodles (sen lek rice noodles) so its not a particularly bad attempt, just bland. If I didnt order it and were asked to guess whether it was an attempt at Pad Thai, or Pad Siew, I wouldnt be able to tell you. But if youve never had Pad Thai before and didnt have any expectations, you might enjoy it. Service felt a bit slow and not memorable even though it was almost empty on a Friday night.
