Decided we wanted delicious chicken wings & Bonchon never disappoints. This was our 1st time at this location. They were reasonably busy 1/2 full with dine in & countless takeout orders. We didn’t have to wait to be seated & service was A+. We ordered wings, fries, potstickers & udon with fried egg. All were delicious. Definitely will go back.

Everything was better before, not so great now. Chicken has changed, very HARD, even HARD to chew. The rice I got was super hard and dry. I had to ask for different rice. When I said something about the chicken, then she said oh we changed the chicken. Now we bread it in-house. A lot has changed since the last time I was there, but I probably wont be going back.

I finally stopped by Bonchon. Love the fried chicken wings. The batter is light. I requested extra crispy. I ordered something else, but the chicken wings are great! I have no photo of the chicken because it was devoured right away. Special mention to staff named Aaron. He is very polite and helpful. Clean place. Concrete floor added to the places character. The kitchen vent is excellent because you wont smell like fried or stir fry aroma sticking to your clothes. I will definitely go back.

Ordered the wings got the half and half wings were so spicy, ridiculously spicy that we could not eat them. They should warn people on the level of heat they have its to much to really enjoy. Stayed hungry cause we couldnt finish our food.

Went on a Saturday night about 8:30 and it wasnt too busy. Our waitress was Jordan who provided EXCELLENT customer service. Had the Onion rings, pork buns, and chicken wings and chicken sliders. ALL of the dishes were great. I must say the wings are incredible the way they are prepared. The pork buns were delicious. The pork is crispy and the buns are really soft and fresh. The atmosphere is really chill and all of the staff were really cool. Bonchon will easily become a regular stop for my family.

This is my 2nd time back and the reason for coming back was the buffalo wings. This place has one of the best spiced wings in Elk Grove. Since it was happy hour I also ordered a plate of chicken and a plate of beef sliders. Both are also very good although I prefer the beef more. Well if you like wings, you gotta give this place a try!

Nice store. Friendly and helpful staff. Fast service. The food was meh. Japchae is ok, 3/5, as its a bit squishy due to soft broken clear noodle. Chicken was crispy but thats about it (although I actually prefer the texture of fried wings at Buffalo Wild Wings). The flavour, IMO, is not even compared to BWW.

Its a nice place to feel that Korean taste of chicken. Thankful that Bonchon Chicken opened here in Elk Grove. I always go back for the Salmon Avocado Ball and the Seasoned Fries! The place is clean and have plenty of parking spaces around. They have enough seats to accommodate hungry families. They put on live games for viewing and make it the cherry on top of your meal. Theyre closed on Tuesdays.

Ordered the crispy chicken, pork belly buns and the japchae noodles. Pork bun and noodles were very good. Not spicy at all. The chicken was all drumsticks. Regular size, not drumlets the you get from regular hot wings. Chicken was very crunchy with good flavor. Soy garlic chicken was my favorite.

My first time here, and I ordered online through their app and choose curbside pick up. Their ordering process, through the app, was very easy to use and, when you arrive to the designated curbside parking spot, you just click the link in the email they send that lets them know youve arrived. The wait time was minimal, about 10 mins.Now the food... I ordered bul dak. It consisted of tteokbokki,thinly sliced onions, nice sized bites of chicken with a spicy but slightly sweet sauce topped with cheese. The flavor was amazing, especially if you are a lover of spicy food, like myself. Only con for me was the chicken was a bit over cooked, but all in all, it was pretty good. This location is larger than most weve been to; great atmosphere. Because we arrived and ordered for take out before they closed, being a Bonchon connoisseur; we could tell they did not double fry our wings. It was likely only single fired because the wings were NOT crispy. Disappointed but the flavor was consistent, at least.

I was there two weeks ago and the chicken was good perfectly seasoned and crispy. I would have given them a 4 star then. Today (04/13/17) I ordered to go chicken and Japchae. The Japchae was way too sweet that is all the flavor that one can taste from it. The chicken was too over fried to the point of burnt see picture. The batter was thicker than usual too. If I wanted a calamari I would have ordered calamari. My chicken tasted like it was flavored with calamari. Did you fry the chicken on the same oil you fried the calamari...then that will do it. Very disappointing food today...and Bonchon is not cheap either. Value for your money eh..not good.

We visited here on a Friday night so I assumed the wait would be long because the restaurant is new, popular, and Id heard there can be a wait. There was a 30 min wait if we wanted a table, but since there were just two of us, we were able to immediately take a seat at the island behind the bar. So if youre willing to either sit at the bar or at the island just behind the bar, you may be able to cut down or eliminate the wait time.The decor is very modern (like!) and there were quite a few TVs around the restaurant (maybe 6?). Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. We tried the citron flavor soju and we enjoyed its light Sprite-like flavor.For an appetizer, we ordered the Salmon Avocado Ball. I wanted to try it because it looked so unique and sounded yummy! It had a great flavor with crab, avocado, and cucumber inside and seared salmon on the outside, drizzled with sauces. I liked the mix of flavors-it all went well together.For dinner, we ordered the Bibimbap with bulgogi and a small combo plate of fried chicken- half soy garlic flavor, half spicy. I really liked the soy garlic fried chicken because Im a lightweight when it comes to spicy. I got an especially spicy bite of one wing and had to stop eating the spicy because my tongue was on fire :P But thats just me. My husband loved the spicy ones.I would have liked to try more other foods, but I was too full so it looks like we will have to come back!

My daughter thought this place was amazing and stupendous. She even left a wonderful note on the back of one of the receipts.We have not received such great service in a long time. They were thoughtful and considerate, really listened to us and gave great suggestions that met our needs.The food was unique and beyond delicious. The Mochi took you to a whole other world. The food is good. The chicken is the center piece of the business and that distinction is well deserved. It is crispy and delicious. Perfectly cooked. The tteokbokki was a bit disappointing, as it wasnt very hot and the sauce didnt stick well to the rice cakes. Also, its not like most Korean restaurants as they dont bring out panchan with the meal.

The chicken doesnt taste as good as I remembered it. Its a bit harder now but it wasnt bad. The rice was hard and not good at all. It was the worst rice Ive ever had at a restaurant. Rice is an important part of my meal and I couldnt even swallow this rice. I asked if they had a different batch because I thought it was just some old rice that had been left out, but they didnt have any other rice. Love the chicken here the sauce they use is the best and the way it is double fried to have that extra crisp is just amazing. The fries are excellent and the fried rice is surprisingly tasty the red bell peppers you would think would not go well with it but it really sets it off. Got the family meal whish is a steal because even the wings are huge that my wife thought the wing drum was actually the drumsticks that came with the meal.

Love this place but lately it’s gone downhill. Firstly The wings tastes awful, it had no flavor whatsoever and it was very dry. I ordered the wing combo during lunch special. Every single one of the wings didn’t have any flavor to them. I ordered half and half. Even got my order wrong somehow. Gave me ranch dressing instead of spicy mayo and I didn’t realize it until I got home. Better to spend your money somewhere else if they can’t even put signature sauce on their wings for takeout orders and get their order right. That was the only reason why I came to this place.

They finally opened! Went for lunch on Tuesday and it wasn’t too crowded but if you are ordering fried chicken it’s about a 15 minute wait since they cook it when you order it. I had the combo 8 piece meal with half spicy half soy garlic and it was really delicious. It comes with a side of pickled radish and you have to pay for rice. I wandered in for lunch. I expected a different menu but this is sort of a niche type Korean restaurant. The have a chicken special thats worth a try. I tried it out and choose the half and half option. That is, half soy ginger, half spicy fried chicken. It was pretty tasty. The soy garlic was a new taste for me and I liked it. The spicy chicken was good too but it wasnt as spicy as I expected. Perhaps it has been watered down to accommodate the American palate. In sum, its nice and its different. I think if I ever have the chance to. Ill select the kimchi coleslaw as my side instead of fries.

Convinced colleagues to try this place for lunch when we attended a conference in the area. Did was so good, we went back the second day. The service was Superior. One member are quickly so she could go to the car to pump and was asking is if we would take care of her payment when the bill arrived. The waitress overheard and immediately came over up ask if she just wanted her to close the bill right then so she could take care of it, and she was very fast making it happen. The second day, we ordered some garlic and sweet spicy strips to split- she asked if we wanted a knife to cut them down to equal portions. Water cups stayed filled. Waitress anticipated our needs. The chicken was on the verge of being overcooked. It barely had any sauce. I dont know if this is normal for Bonchon, but the chicken did not come with dipping sauce. They charge almost a $1 per dipping sauce, so I had to deal with the rock hard korean style chicken.The bulgogi wrap was mostly just wrap. It did not fill me up at all. I would have liked to see more vegetables and sauce inside. I paid $10 for food I can make at home for $3.The spicy chicken tacos looked and tasted okay, but the tortillas seemed like they werent cooked. Again, this was food that I could have made at home for $3 instead of $12.I had given this place 3 stars before, but I saw an ad for Bonchon just now which showed that their chicken is supposed to be smothered in sauce.1 star. Needs a better kitchen staff.

They have a great variety of food. The chicken strips are good sized, the pickled radish is a great addition to any meal, and the salmon bun is super delicious. We also had the chicken over rice and the flavor mixed with the spicy mayo is fantastic. Ill keep it simple.Theres great food, great service, and a great atmosphere.However, this is a VERY popular place, resulting in waits up to an hour depending on your group size. It has a bar and islands for 1-2 people, and tables for more.Just make sure to keep note of which food is spicy and which isnt. Theres 2 levels of spicy, and even the first level is pretty hot. The second level of spice is a real butt kicker.

We normally go to Leatherbys on a fairly regular basis and when this place opened up we eventually decided to go check it out. We have been back 405 * there is a great place to go try out different things. Most of the time that we have been there it is normally over the weekend and it is fairly busy. My first time visiting. The waitstaff was not helpful in anyway. We ordered the spicy wings and OMG it was beyond spicy. It was hotter than the devils underwear! It even burned my gums. The staff should have said something. I also ordered the Japchae which was filled with onions that was not in the description on the menu and was too sweet for my taste. The chicken here is really good, the 2 flavors are pretty good, though the spiciness is more of a mild, would be nice if there was different degrees to the heat. The crispiness of the chicken was there but it wasn’t the famous Korean fried chicken crispy. Not sure of the batter, if there was rice flour in it or not, but double fried it was not, which is key for the crispiness. If you leave out the crispiness of the chicken, it tops the leading chicken restaurants, but does not do what Korean fried chicken does, amaze!

They come in different sized orders, I usually have leftovers if wife and I get a large.For their sides, the kimchi and pickled radishes is a must. I was excited when Bonchon first came to Elk Grove. Since they have extended their hours, it has been a place that i crave every few weeks. The servers are courteous. The Soju drink that is on the happy hour can be made how ever you like, whether it be sweet, fruity, or strong (alcohol). The food might take a while, but since their chicken is double fried it is understandable. Everything I have had here never disappoints. Would recommend to go at least once, and youll be hooked!

Please check your receipts when paying with a card, make sure that you have cash to pay the bill or if planning to give a Tip please check your receipt if it was charged correctly with the Tip included. As a Korean (with experience in Korean fast food) I can give a good review of Korean food. Aside from the chicken (both the spicy and garlic flavors are good, but dont have enough sauce and was slightly underseasoned) the rest of the food was not very good. The rice in the bibimbap was overcooked and mushy, and the bibimbap was bland. The spicy rice cakes/ttoekbokki( 떡볶이) were decent (not the traditional style, but had a thicker and chunkier sauce). The udon was good.My recommendation is to stick to the chicken(which is a little overpriced) and dont go for any of the other dishes.

Me and my family just went. I had the Bibinyap bowl. Bad idea. After 20 minutes, the bowl was still too hot to eat, and the literal bowl was hot enough to burn your finger. I didnt barely touch it. Bibinyap must mean Lava bowl or something. That was the downside. Our server was really nice, and often came to ask us if we wanted water.
