We visited here on a Friday night so I assumed the wait would be long because the restaurant is new, popular, and Id heard there can be a wait. There was a 30 min wait if we wanted a table, but since there were just two of us, we were able to immediately take a seat at the island behind the bar. So if youre willing to either sit at the bar or at the island just behind the bar, you may be able to cut down or eliminate the wait time. The decor is very modern (like!) and there were quite a few TVs around the restaurant (maybe 6?). Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. We tried the citron flavor soju and we enjoyed its light Sprite-like flavor. For an appetizer, we ordered the Salmon Avocado Ball. I wanted to try it because it looked so unique and sounded yummy! It had a great flavor with crab, avocado, and cucumber inside and seared salmon on the outside, drizzled with sauces. I liked the mix of flavors-it all went well together. For dinner, we ordered the Bibimbap with bulgogi and a small combo plate of fried chicken- half soy garlic flavor, half spicy. I really liked the soy garlic fried chicken because Im a lightweight when it comes to spicy. I got an especially spicy bite of one wing and had to stop eating the spicy because my tongue was on fire :P But thats just me. My husband loved the spicy ones.I would have liked to try more other foods, but I was too full so it looks like we will have to come back!

Ramen Q Hawaiian BBQ
8420 Elk Grove Florin Rd #170, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. Squid legs arrived fried crispy and not greasy. The agedashi tofu was piping hot and creamy. Now for the rest. Takoyaki was not bad. Lacked enough octopus. Gyoza was deep fried- not authentic way to cook them.We had four different types of ramen. All of the broths were weak in flavor and intensity. The toppings were added straight from the fridge or freezer - they were still cold when we bit into them despite the broth being piping hot. ?Now for the ambience. Everyone was really nice. As in a family owned restaurant, they bring their children. That's ok by me but they shouldn't be running through the kitchen screaming. It's dangerous. This last part sealed us not returning. Some of the family came from the back to eat in the restaurant. Adults and a few children under 5. A 3-4 year old stood on a table barefoot and walked across two tables, jumping up and down. Dangerous and unclean. There are a lot of other ramen restaurants to choose from in the area.

Richmond Cafe

They're only opened for 1 month so I'll update this review when I return to try again. For now, my review is based on the 6 dishes I ordered and the service received:First dish that came out was the baked rice with meat sauce. Usually this is the last dish that comes out because of the time it takes to cook/bake. It's just plain white rice under the sauce. The rice wasn't fully cooked. Wasn't sure if they microwaved this dish or actually baked it but it was disappointing. It would be better if they fried the rice and added more meat sauce, and bake it longer (if it was baked).Second dish was the fried chicken. This was tasty. I was concerned at some point because some of the meat looked pink, but I'll give the benefit of doubt that it's their marinade. Chicken was tender and tasty.Third dish was the pork cutlet. This dish was okay. Batter was crispy but I'm not a big pork cutlet fan so I'll leave it at that.Fourth dish: beef brisket with wheat noodle soup and pork dumplings. Soup kind of bland and noodles were undercooked and unevenly cooked. Dumplings were disappointing—it didn't taste like pork. It didn't taste like anything for that matter.Fifth dish: shrimp wonton noodle soup with flat white noodles. Soup base tasted the same as the beef brisket noodle. Shrimp wonton better than their pork dumplings but not something I'd come back for. Noodles over cooked so it was mostly broken into pieces.Last dish: HK style French toast. This was the only dish I liked. It tasted better than most HK style French toast in Sac and I liked that their peanut butter taste was subtle. I would come back for this dish.Service: we were the only dine in table yet service and food was slow. They didn't have smaller plates to give us for sharing appetizers so they gave us big round plates.I'll wait another month before coming back to try similar and different dishes.Location: great location but I've seen several restaurants in this spot open and close. Plenty of parking.

Pizza Twist

I'm so glad they built a Pizza Twist here! This place is brand new so of course it's sparkling clean. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable, too. As the name implies, they have specialty pizzas here, plus the traditional styles. Think of it as Indian and American fusion. I opted for a half and half shahi and tikka masala pizza on the hand-tossed crust, plus a variety small desserts on the side. There are plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options to choose from and it's all clearly labeled on the menu. I assume this place will be crowded eventually when people discover it, but for now I'm quite satisfied to eat here where it's nice and quiet. Otherwise I may end up getting takeout or having it delivered.

Thai Chili

Im ashamed -- Ive been here at least 10-15 times and Ive never reviewed it! Dont take it that way, TC (were on initial-name-basis at this point). This is one of the best restaurants in Elk Grove, and even Sacramento. EG got lucky on this one. With great food, fast service, and good prices.... You cant eat here enough!Atmosphere: 4/5-- This is nice place, situated on a usually busy Elk Grove strip mall. Parking in front is uncommon, but theres plenty of places a little further away; no worries.-- The restaurant itself is a modern. The layout inside a little unorthodox; when you walk in theres the main dining area and two tiny benches for waiting. Then theres the kitchen in the middle of the room, with another smaller dining area all the way to the left. Its never really used, and its just awkward. The dining area is considerably small.-- But other than that, the inside is fine. They even have good music playing, which is unusual nowadays. Its quiet and unobtrusive. Ive heard Nujabes playing once or twice!Service: 3.5/5-- Service here is hit and miss sometimes, actually. Theyre always polite, but sometimes understaffed (during busy hours).-- My girlfriend tried calming down two dishes once, and nothing was changed. They mightve actually made it spicier, come to think of it... We had so much cold water because of it.-- During busy dinner hours, it CAN be slow. Even pickup orders. And because its smaller, you might have to wait a little. Try to come during slower hours to take advantage of the service!Food: 5/5-- The food is delicious. Ive had lots of their dishes, and never really been disappointed. Their drunken noodles are delicious, along with their pineapple fried rice...oh man.-- Other delicious dishes are their duck fried rice, combination BBQ platter (its called something like that), Tom Yum, and various vegetable dishes are always great.-- Their desserts are great too, from their mango/sticky rice and fried ice cream...yes.Price: 4.25/5-- This place always has fair prices, and weve usually been able to keep a meal for 2 between $20-$28.-- I wish they had lunch specials...The best Elk Grove has to offer! Definitely food to be proud of, no matter the city.

Chasons Crab Stadium
8839 Sheldon Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
I will say that I absolutely love eating seafood. Whether its lobster, shrimp, oysters, crab, pollock, flounder, if you put it in front of me, I will be sure to scarf it up and clean my plate. This takes me on a trip to the northeast part of Elk Grove, an area that I dont venture out to very much where I had the opportunity trying Chasons Crab Stadium. Located directly in a strip mall off of Sheldon Rd. & Elk Grove-Florin Rd., this place has the distinctive trait of being the first crawfish restaurant in Elk Grove.Having been opened since early-2014, I saw the mixed reviews and wanted to see if my experience would be a positive one or not. I arrived with a friend at around 2:30pm during the afternoon of Sunday 6/6/2021. During my visit, there was indoor dining throughout while it looked as if all outdoor seated had gotten removed (since restrictions were easing). Parking was fairly easy to find but can get challenging during busier times; especially during dinner hours and weekends. As soon as my friend and I arrived, we were greeted and then seated at a high pub table. We were given 2 iced waters and a QR code menu which many restaurants have been utilizing more and more. I will say that this place is quite spacious as there are several booths, large tables for bigger parties, and a dedicated bar area with TVs. Which takes me to their drink selection; here you will find a fully loaded bar complete with beers on tap & bottled, wine, scotch/whiskey/bourbon, tequila, vodka, run/gin, cognac, and several signature cocktails.Their menu is just as extensive as they offer a plethora of favorites from the ocean including shrimp, salmon, oysters, lobster, and Dungeness crab. There is also a ton of non-seafood items including cheeseburgers, chicken, ribs, and steaks. Since I came here specifically for what theyre known for (which is seafood), I went with their Seafood Pasta. This included shrimp, mussels, & clams mixed in with creamy Parmesan cheese, linguine pasta, spinach, bacon, lemon juice, & tomatoes. My friend went with their Flakey Fish & Chips which is fried beer-battered cod & tartar sauce with a side of seasoned fries. Both our entrees came out in roughly 15 minutes. My plate was loaded with pasta; so much to a point where this could easily be shared between two people. Best of all, they did not skimp on the seafood portions as the meat in the clams were huge. The texture was perfectly executed as it wasnt too salty and just the right amount of consistency. My friend enjoyed their fish as there was a ton of meat inside of the cod. Tartar sauce was just so-so but still flavored well. Keep in mind that if you check-in using the Yelp app on your mobile phone, you can get either a FREE soft drink OR a FREE side of corn bread. I opted for a soft drink as I knew I was already consuming enough carbs for my day.Overall, Chasons Crab Stadium is a decent above average restaurant. Our waitress was attentive and made sure we were doing good. If anything, I have to make a future visit back this way to try some of their amazing Dungeness crab and lobster tails. But for this type of food to be in Elk Grove is a pleasant surprise. My rating for Chasons, an above average four stars.

Original Mikes Diner
9139-3 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
I really dislike not giving a positive review, but we always rely on reviews to refer us, just as we did this time when trying out this diner. So in all fairness, I feel a need to pay it forward.First let me say, the host was very friendly, and the restaurant was a fun environment, and clean. That being said, we arrived around 1:00, and it was about 50% full, with plenty of staff. We waited 15 minutes before our waitress finally greeted us, and that was 5 minutes after the host walked by, and we told him we'd like to order. He did go tell her, however we still waited even though she was standing at the counter for a long time, doing something I could see. Our waitress was friendly, so we were gracious and ordered without complaining about the wait, thinking we'd cut her some slack. She brought the wrong beverage for my husband even after double checking to make sure she had the right thing. We then waited 25 minutes for our food, which seemed ridiculously long, considering it was not busy.I had ordered the Hot Turkey Open Face Sandwich. It came and was simply a few slices of thinly sliced turkey lunch meat that had been fried on the grill, then thrown on top of some bread, and mashed potatoes, with gravy over it. Usually, an open face turkey sand, is chunks of fresh roasted turkey... I thought, I'm starving, I'll just eat it and keep my mouth shut. BUT, it tasted horrible. I though if at least the gravy was good, it would camouflage the rest, but I really couldn't eat beyond 2 bites, it tasted so bad. Several minutes later the waitress came by and I let her know it was inedible. She did apologize and take it off our bill, but by that time, my husband and son were almost finished with their meal, so I certainly wasn't compelled to order something else, and wait another 25 minutes. My husband and son had ordered steak and eggs, which they both said was mediocre. We really wanted to like this place, but needless to say, won't be going back. Just too many strikes for one visit.

Captain Crab Seafood Restaurant - Elk Grove
8471 Elk Grove Florin Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624, United States
* Wasn't able to reply to Captain Crab's response, but editing my response so I can reply. I have to disagree with Captain Crab's comment. I placed an order at 11:50am and my food was delivered at 12:30pm. And I ate it as soon as it arrived. It only takes less than 10 mins from captain crab to my house, so it shouldn't have make a giant difference in the quality of the food. As I mentioned, I dine in all the time and the food doesn't go bad. Even if I have to step away to use the restroom and return. It's still fresh as new when I return. The food that was delivered tasted as if it had been previously cook and only warmed up to fulfill the ordered.*********I always dine in-person and the food is always fresh and delicious. This is my first time ordering via door dash because I am on a short lunch break. My food was not hot, the shrimp, crawdad and corn tasted old. I know the difference because I am a long time dine in customer of captin crab. Very disappointed in the quality of my door dash order.

I had not been here before and was leary about the choices especially since I basically have to eat a low carb diet right now. Luckily I was able to get them to serve the clay pot without the rice and vegetables I dont like. And then it was perfect. So I can definitely come here again.I was with a group of 8 ladies around 4PM and we all asked for separate checks. I noticed the 18 % tip was already in the bill but I have heard of other restaurants doing the same when you have a group so I wasnt surprised. Especially when you consider its more work for them. The restaurant was not crowded at that hour and we saw the staff eating so it was a good time for them to do so. All in all the service was great. Quick and personable. They were patient with us too. Kinda cute decor with all those bamboo up front and iconic statues up at the counter. They had Wonton Soup on the menu which I recognize and apparently a pork chop plate my friend had. The pork chops were thin but huge. In fact we all took leftovers home so sizeable portions. They had Pho and Oxtail Soup. There were many different choices on the menu just I didnt know what they were exactly. You would have to check it out yourself. The value was great as it was about about $17 all told and since it was enough for 2 meals.
