We visited here on a Friday night so I assumed the wait would be long because the restaurant is new, popular, and Id heard there can be a wait. There was a 30 min wait if we wanted a table, but since there were just two of us, we were able to immediately take a seat at the island behind the bar. So if youre willing to either sit at the bar or at the island just behind the bar, you may be able to cut down or eliminate the wait time. The decor is very modern (like!) and there were quite a few TVs around the restaurant (maybe 6?). Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. We tried the citron flavor soju and we enjoyed its light Sprite-like flavor. For an appetizer, we ordered the Salmon Avocado Ball. I wanted to try it because it looked so unique and sounded yummy! It had a great flavor with crab, avocado, and cucumber inside and seared salmon on the outside, drizzled with sauces. I liked the mix of flavors-it all went well together. For dinner, we ordered the Bibimbap with bulgogi and a small combo plate of fried chicken- half soy garlic flavor, half spicy. I really liked the soy garlic fried chicken because Im a lightweight when it comes to spicy. I got an especially spicy bite of one wing and had to stop eating the spicy because my tongue was on fire :P But thats just me. My husband loved the spicy ones.I would have liked to try more other foods, but I was too full so it looks like we will have to come back!

Im not a vegan and I make my way over here numerous times a month. This place has been around since like 2013 or so if Im not mistaken. Ive been a customer for years and never once have left this place feeling less than satisfied. The menu prices are fair for the portions given. The food is fresh, always hot and very well balanced in regard to herbs and seasonings. They also make awesome smoothies. Our favorites are pretty basic, but Ive ordered from a variety of sections off their extensive menu. Our go to is always going to be the spicy cha cha which is like an amazing salt and pepper style panko fried shrimp. The imitation shrimps are fried to perfection in a panko style breading that is really firm and never gets soggy, even as it cools down. The shrimps are tossed in a medley of chopped jalapeno pepper, onion and a white pepper/salt mixture. Absolutely divine. 10/10. My only recommendation is for this dish to include a dipping sauce. We find ourselves dipping them into the spicy fake mayo that comes with the grilled wraps. Takes it over the top in regard to flavor. On the real side of things, we always order a grilled wrap. This is like fake beef strips that are marinated in a savory sauce and then grilled. This is then wrapped up with caramelized onions, crisp lettuce, spears of tomato, avocado and cucumber. The whole thing is in a nice tortilla style flatbread accompanied by a savory spicy mayo style dipping sauce. You can not go wrong here.Their sautéed entres and other appetizers also are really enjoyable. Basil fries and the golden beauty lemongrass dish really stick out to me. In recent cold months Ive also found myself ordering the wonton soup, which is a very refreshing and green tasting soup loaded down with baby bok choy, broccoli, carrots, celery broth, ginger flavor and roasted garlic that comes along with it. The soup is honestly becoming one of my favorites.Take the trip over here if youre out of the Elk Grove area, it is so worth it!
Journey To The Dumpling

The reality is, every moment a visitor interacts with your establishment, leads to judgment about your brand Journey to the Dumpling. Yvonne, it is nice to meet you again. Today, I cant express in words how I felt standing there becoming subtly impatient only to then watch a sitting customer, standup then walks over to where I was standing and get the attention of your staff just by her standing beside me. The situation was escalated the moment your employee came to the front and assisted her instead. He then completed her financial transaction while my order sat right beside him on the to-go table. Still, he didnt take the opportunity to greet me as I was disregarded when he quickly returned to his other duties at the far side of the restaurant. Everyone pays attention to the front of the establishment, thats where the door is as well as your cash register. In your reply, you mentioned that your staff was consumed with finishing up a busy lunch service preparing for a busy dinner service. You clarified why I was purposefully ignored. Not by one of your staff members but by each of them that walked by and interacted with the front register area where I was standing. However, it does not clarify why another person was assisted during my wait and not me.The marginalization of some groups dilutes the beauty and centrality of Elk Grove as a whole, as it excludes groups due to race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, physical ability, and/or immigration status who want to be treated as normal people.I am NOT asking you to give me what I want, how I want it, at the lowest price, extra fast and make me feel special, or Ill buy from someone else. I am simply asking for the same attention to detail everyone wants during your available business hours. As I am a very reasonable consumer and local business owner right here in Elk Grove, there will be another opportunity for me to update my experience with your establishment Journey to Dumpling.
Jacks Urban Eats
7701 Laguna Blvd #420, Elk Grove, CA 95758, United States
We went there last night. My fiance, daughter and I ordered sandwiches with fries, my daughter with mashed potatoes. My daughter received her potatoes first, and she sat there eating them and I figured they were going to bring everything else soon after. Well they brought over my sandwich after about 10 minutes, and the young lady whom said her name was Jayline or something along that line asked if everything was alright I told her no, I didnt like the fact the food was being brought out one at a time. She gave a look as if she couldnt believe I just said that. I told her we come to eat as a family and it just doesnt make sense to not bring all the order out. She said I shouldve said that when I paid and I told her I didnt realize I had to do that. She said she was going to check on the order but when she got to the door ( we were sitting outside) she looked back and gave me a dirty look and never returned! Someone else brought out the rest of the food at different times of course since I didnt say anything when I paid. I can tell you she must have something to the rest of the wait staff because we were avoided and looked at. The whole experience was not what I expected and I try to support Elk Grove businesses because I live here but we wont be back.

Brand new restaurant...Picked an order to go: deluxe chow mein, wor wonton soup and paper-wrapped chicken. The paper-wrapped chicken was good-- but needed (in my opinion) more Hoisin sauce. We added Hoisin sauce ourselves, and it really helped. The wor wonton soup was really good. Lots of additional goodies, lots of tasty dumplings and-- as always should be with any soup-- an excellent chicken broth. The best dish was the deluxe chow mein. Lots of additional goodies (chicken, beef, pork and shrimp in addition to veggies)-- but-- the noodles! Best noodles Ive had in a long time. So deliciously chewy, just how I like them.Good value. We got dinner for two with leftovers for lunch for two for the price of a modest dinner for two.We will definitely be going back. Will update this review as appropriate. And heres the update... UHave now eaten here at least half a dozen times. Their cooks are so good. Vegetable and meat items in the same dish are perfectly done. Vegetables vastly different in texture are perfectly done. The zucchini and broccoli in my pan-fried noodles tonight were both perfectly done. The noodles readily afforded that perfect bite: half crunchy, half softened by the sauce.Portion sizes are very generous-- Ive never been able to finish even a lunch-sized combo plate.Very reasonably priced-- especially since youre getting another meal in leftovers. You can get a really good meal that fills you up for as little as $11.99.Very friendly, but not intrusive waitstaff. Upgraded to 5 Stars (from 4 Stars).

I had not been here before and was leary about the choices especially since I basically have to eat a low carb diet right now. Luckily I was able to get them to serve the clay pot without the rice and vegetables I dont like. And then it was perfect. So I can definitely come here again.I was with a group of 8 ladies around 4PM and we all asked for separate checks. I noticed the 18 % tip was already in the bill but I have heard of other restaurants doing the same when you have a group so I wasnt surprised. Especially when you consider its more work for them. The restaurant was not crowded at that hour and we saw the staff eating so it was a good time for them to do so. All in all the service was great. Quick and personable. They were patient with us too. Kinda cute decor with all those bamboo up front and iconic statues up at the counter. They had Wonton Soup on the menu which I recognize and apparently a pork chop plate my friend had. The pork chops were thin but huge. In fact we all took leftovers home so sizeable portions. They had Pho and Oxtail Soup. There were many different choices on the menu just I didnt know what they were exactly. You would have to check it out yourself. The value was great as it was about about $17 all told and since it was enough for 2 meals.
Dragon Beaux

Oh my goodness. What a surprise. I got wow at Sky River. I was hungry and went looking for food. Although the food court seem like it has a nice selection, I was searching for something light. I stumbled onto Dragon Beaux. as soon as we walked into the place, we were greeted by a beautiful young lady, who acknowledged us, even though she was busy. She turned out to be so lovely. Getting us an earlier bar seating .My friend who I was dining with, had never had dim sum so of course I opted for that. There were a number of selections.we opted for vegetable eggrolls, lobster shrimp dumpling, and spicy seafood dumpling dim sum. It was magnificent! (suggested by the Bartender) He was wonderful for service and drinks. The service, the ambience, the food all good here. I think I could go there for a lunch or dinner without even playing in the casino. Its that good! Do yourself a favor if youre there, try it.??? I usually take pictures

Used to be a wonderful place with excellent food. Lately the food has been poorly cooked leaving the meat either chewy or undercooked, noodles overly greasy and the flavors just are not as they used to be. Tried to dine in with a party of four... the waitress messed up two of the plate orders, then could not figure out how to simply order the proper plates from the kitchen, Drinks were also inaccurate and refills never happened. Because of the waitress ordering an entire replacement plate instead of a lunch special, the total at the end was higher than it should have been.It should not be a surprise that we elected not to tip as we cashed out. The waitress decided to come back to the table as we were standing to leave and tell us it was unacceptable not to tip because of all the work it takes to clean a table afterward. I could not believe what I was hearing! Excellent and normal service always gets a generous tip, but if the order is consistently messed up and no attention is being paid to the table, then no tip seems appropriate to me.Unfortunately due to the continuing decline in quality of food, and apparent lack of service, I will not be eating here anymore.

So first of all, this place really sucks at customer service! When this place first opened, I went to try it out and the food was good but service was so so. Thought that because the business was new and employees were still trying to get settle with the atmosphere but I guess that wasn't the case. Went back to this place with my son and was very surprise that the customer service was even more worse. Went to place an order to go and it took 15-20 minutes and still no one came to help take order while waiting patiently at the table. As I am waiting a girl waitress just walks back and forth doing nothing and the other guy walking around soing nothing as well. I thought to myself, why am I still waiting to order! So I waited some more about 5 more minutes and just when I thought I was going to get to order the phone rings and the waiter goes and pickup the phone and starts writing order for whoever called. I was already piss by waiting so long and now I was ignore and others who called got to order first, that was so disrespectful and rude. I then stood up and told my son to go. So we just took off without ordering. Sonfor the record, as a food blogger and trying restaurant all over town and everywhere I go, this place has very poor customer service. Sad that I would not go to this place anymore and recommend that anyone reading this post don't patronize there as well cause we are the one who pays their bill for them to stay in business and people should get treated better. Go to another pho place to Spend your money.

The worst customer service I have ever had. I have worked in a restaurant for 5 years, and the way we were treated by multiple employees was appalling. This was our first time here, and we ordered some food to go. All the employees seemed very stressed, even though there didnt seem to be very many customers in the building. The lady who took our order was not very helpful and rushed us. We went and sat by the food pick-up area right after our order was placed to wait for our number to be called. We watched an employee put a bag up on the counter, glance at us, and then walk away without a single word. Since it was our first time there, we didnt want to assume it was our food, and decided to wait for the employee to come back to the counter to verify (we didnt want to interrupt anyone since like I mentioned, they all seem extremely stressed). When she did eventually come back up to the counter, it was to complain to her coworker that she has no idea where these people are and that they need to come get their food. I spoke up to say that we had been waiting on our order, but hadnt wanted to assume that was ours and had been waiting to hear our number. She told us that we were wrong and that she had been calling the number multiple times and we didnt hear. I let her know that we were sitting in front of the counter the whole time (and even watched her put it up there), and once again she let us know that we were wrong, didnt hear and that other employees were even calling the number (they had not been), and she seemed extremely angry. I said that was a lie, but just took our food and left.I understand being stressed at work, but I do not understand trying to argue with customers. We were not angry that we had been waiting, and a simple sorry for the miscommunication on her end would have made this whole interaction fine. We tipped 20% when we had ordered, but if we could take that back and tip nothing we would. The food was alright, but I would never recommend this place to anyone.
