One of my favorite meals during our visit to SD area. My husband got the peanut Thai noodles with shrimp added and I got the chicken teriyaki with an over medium egg. Large portions, phenomenal food, and very prompt and helpful service. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again!

I love it here! The monk bowls are amazing and customizable and delicious. My wife is very sensitive to anything spicy, and they do have menu items that are spicy that they dont list as spicy, so she wasnt able to eat some of her meal, but what she was able to have she enjoyed so theres that.

The popular dish is Mongolian Pot. We had it with beef but you can have it with other type of meets like shrimp, chicken or lamb.

I’ve been away from San Diego for 5 years. Upon returning, mostly what I’ve experienced (with everything, not only food) is quality and quantity way down, prices way way up. Not so at East Village Diner and I am so happy because this was one of my favorite go-tos back in the day. The monk por is still absolutely delicious, fresh and filling - and for the same reasonable prices I remember. Yay!!!!

This place used to be so good, but it was just such a complete disappointment. Got the fallen monk bowl, the pork was so burned it wasnt edible, and the egg came scrambled for some reason. My friend got the shrimp which came with 3 shrimp which were so overcooked it was extremely chewy and one of them wasnt even deveined which is super gross. The servers are super nice, but the music was so low it wasnt audible, felt like there was no quality control or management in any way shape or form

Carlos was our waiter, and the busser I cant remember his name were very professional and kind, and after we were seated and ordered Carlos had our food to us in less than 5 minutes on a busy Saturday night. The service was phenomenal. The food was out-of-this-world delicious. If you want quick yummy healthy food with a slight spice youll love East Village Asian Diner.

Great place! it was super busy so we had a bit of a wait. The service was good and the food came out as quick as youd expect. The menu was really unique and fun. The only reason I didnt give it a 5 is because the food was a bit underwhelming. It was good! It just missed big flavor, a fulness, and a good mouthfeel. Next time Id get two eggs on the Mongolian Monk Stone Pot.

My whole family LOVES this place!!! The food is absolutely fantastic!! I was so glad to be able to get it as a pickup order while we were in town! The pickup process was simple and the food was ready, waiting for us at the time given. This is a great restaurant in downtown Encinitas (my favorite forsure)!

Stopped by for dinner and EVERYTHING was amazing. Karelly and Selene were our servers and they were very attentive and really sweet. We got the carnitas fries and they were bomb! For the entree we got a monk bowl and the beef broccoli noodles, needless to say, it was amazing! Definitely a place to check out next time you’re in Encinitas!

Kinda bougie. The waitress apologized for my presence to other customers almost immediately. Cuz I am homeless in a wheelchair living on the street at the moment. Then, after I ordered egg fried rice and paid seven dollars for. I got something that could only be described as the laziest dish ever. The only things in the rice were oil, egg and a ridiculous amount of carrot in half chunks. Not even julien carrots. I could have made better fried rice with a concussion. Sucks, cuz i actually like this place. It was like I wasnt even important enough to get a plate made with any sort of pride.
