Great Wall restaurant is a nice little spot in Lancaster that serves classic Chinese food. You can get all the old school Chinese dishes here. Drink menu is limited but you can find something on there that youll like. The atmosphere is relaxing and there is wide open space inside the restaurant. Our server was attentive and polite she did a great job for our large group of people. And the price is really good for the amount of food you get.

Was just visiting Lancaster for a Drs appointment and asked the nurse where to go for great Chinese food. Without skipping a beat she said, Great Wall restaurant! Well she wasnt lying! The food was phenomenal!! Fresh and authentic. From the little set up (egg roll, wonton and paper wrapped chicken) that comes with your meal to the entree you order. Everything was awesome. The service is also great and the atmosphere is really cool. If your a local or just visiting, make sure you give Great Wall restaurant a try. You will not be disappointed.

I went last week with My Sis,she swore this spot was really good but she hadnt been there for a minute. She was right, the service was great,the people were very friendly & warm. Its the best Chinese food Ive had since I moved from L.A. BTW,they serve good alcoholic beverages, their bartender was on point. God Willing I can make it there tomorrow, this review made me hungry.

Where do I even start? This place is in my opinion the best restaurant in the city of Lancaster. One of the few restaurants to survive from my childhood. Looks and feels exactly how it always has. Everytime I eat here it reminds me of coming with my family so many years ago. Every dish here is good, you wont go wrong picking anything. Garners awards every year from the local newspaper, so you dont have to take my word for it. If you ever visit Lancaster and only can choose one place to eat. Please make this the one you try.

Don’t order to go plates . Food felt like we were getting left overs from the people who were dining in and not food made to order. Me and my mom had stomach aches and constantly had to use the bathroom throwing up and number 2 after our meals. Food and Health Gave them a B which isn’t terrible but explains why the food is subpar. They serve leftovers which made us sick so we’re not happy.Good luck with you business, just try to do better .

This restaurant is always busy and full of people. The staff are very friendly. However, the service was poor. I ordered my food and waited at least 25 minutes to get my food! Further, the taste was not up to the expected standard. I was very disappointed...

Not good at all....We moved out here recently and I should have listened to the reviews. Worst Chinese food Ive ever had. Id rather go to Panda Express. The Loi Mein was bland and stuck together. The fried rice had no flavor and no egg or vegetable. The entrees were swimming in sauce but bland sauce the shrimp we small and flavorless. The broccoli had a funny taste. My husband could only ate a couple bites. I tried to eat more but couldnt even finish my plate. A waste of $40. My husband said this place was great in the 90s not sure what happened. I will never go back.

The food and drinks are fantastic . Some favorites of ours are the lemon chicken, egg foo young, general tso chicken, kung pao chicken and the garlic chicken . Their hot and sour soup is always on point as well.But my favorite thing at Great Wall is, the phenomenal Mai Tais.We just got back from Hawaii and I am telling you theyre Mai Tais at Great Wall. Would rival the $40 Mai Tai at the Royal Hawaiian on Oahu.... And here they are only $6.99... and as long as you order food you can get them to go, which I highly recommend.Lastly, their customer service is always on point. Our favorite waitresses are Lee Hoy, Monica, & Lea.Theyve come to know us and we darn near dont even need to order, because they know what we like. They always have a smile on their face and great conversation. You feel like youre part of the family there.My only complaint is the age and appearance of the restaurant. I know the restaurant industries have taken a big hit through COVID, but this place needs a makeover like yesterday. That being said, dont let the lack of aviance fool you because your food, your drinks and of course your customer service will all be outstanding. Enjoy!

This is my favorite Chinese spot in Lancaster. The wonton soup is pretty good. Big meaty wontons, and a nice salty umami tasting broth. The combo fried rice is so good, you will eat every single little kernel! We also had the lo main, orange chicken, and chen-tu beef. These were wonderful. The chen-tu was like a deep fried steak, served with a knife. It was not spicy. The orange chicken is very good, I think it has alot of corn syrup or honey all over it.I really like the food here, the restaurant is a bit dim, and the colors really dark, but the food quality and taste is really good.

Ok, so I had a bad experience with one of my take away orders (Orange Duck) yesterday and left a negative review concerning my experience. The manager or supervisor actually called me later that night to apologize for the inconvenience and told me to stop by today and pick up another Orange Duck order on the house. I stopped by and right away he knew who I was and he was nothing but warm and welcoming towards me. I checked my order this time before leaving and it looked good. I tasted it upon returning home and it was perfect! Thank you Great Wall Restaurant for your hospitality, you have a repeat customer in me!

Beef & Broccoli, Lo Mein and Fried Rice was horrendous! The Egg Flower soup & Salt pepper shrimp were the only satisfactory dishes. Ordered $60 of food and half went trash. Why is the Beef & Broccoli a soup ?!?! The quality of food has went down hill. The inside of the restaurant looks like you stepped back in the 8O’s MAUVE everywhere.

Dont order take out, everything that was cooked was just cooked, no seasoning, no salt, no love. It was around $50 for 4 plates and everything was skimpy. The fat noodles with shrimp felt like they just boiled the noodles and just threw the steamed veggies and shrimp in with it, not even trying to fry it. The fried rice was fried... Thats all, the portion was the size of a to-go ranch container and not the one from BWW. The beef and broccoli had what the name implies but thats pretty much it, had soy sauce with no flavor. Orange chicken is what i thought orange chicken was but that flew without any feathers. The spicy shrimp wasnt anywhere near the spicy level of hot Cheetos let alone salt. I think the only thing i can happily say is that the food was cooked.

First time there, surprisingly it was wonderful. Service is excellent and had the opportunity to try one of the best soups ever. Chinese music on the background makes this place a great environment. Great Wall transports you in time and the prices are unbeatable. Absolutely recommended!

5 Stars!Lancaster location: The food is great. My most beloved dish is the vegetable fried rice with an order of eggplant in brown sauce. Service is fast and staff is nice. Havent had any issues walking in and getting a table or any issues doing a to-go order. Love this location and will be coming again year after year.

Just had lunch there now. Worst experience ever. Their terrible now. No tea served, had to ask for the dried noodles and sauce they used to bring. Had to get up and ask for soy sauce. Had what we normally ordered in the past. No flavor. Seems like the pandemic changed them. Havent been in since the pandemic and never going again!!! Lived here all my life and started going when they first opened way back when. Sad.

In the AV this is easily one of the best Chinese food restaurants around. They have a wall when you walk in to the right where the cashier sits, on this wall is all the awards that theyve won over the many years that theyve been in business next time I go and Ill post a picture of it see for yourself the community loves this place.Basic summary: Very reasonably priced food early bird lunch special, food that is consistently fantastic, along with reasonably priced well made drinks.9/10 Hard to go wrong here. (Can happen but its very rare)

The Great Wall I used to love ... seems to be only in the past. The food is still very good. But looking at the stained tablecloth while I ate took away a lot of that feeling. Servers were distracted, forgot things, and left us sitting long after we had finished eating. The bathroom was horrific...someone had left a monstrous dump in the toilet that wouldnt flush away. The other stall was locked with no one inside. I reported it but indifference was the main response. No apologies for the dirty run-down appearance of the restaurant overall. They need to clean, paint, and upgrade the entire place. They need to clean up the restaurant supplies lying all over...and step up the service. As I left,, the sidewalk around the restaurant had piles of trash next to the building walls. A used diaper?? It used to have an elegant feel inside...now I just want to take a shower. Eww.

I have done some deliveries through Uber for this place and thought Id give it a try. I REGRET that decision.I ordered the orange chicken combo with fried rice, sweet and sour soup and an extra side of egg rolls.The rice was stale and crunchy (not fresh)The orange chicken was stringy and cold and way too chewy.The egg roll inside was pure MUSH. I couldnt tell the difference between the ingredients inside it was like a paste.I wont be back, and I dont know how they got so many awards on their wall inside the quality is extremely lacking. I honestly feel sick to my stomachI normally devour my food. I didnt eat my whole plate and actually threw it all out.The only thing remotely good or at least better was the soup.I dont trust the cleanliness or the quality of this establishment and if you insist on being open during a pandemic try a bit harder at makin your food better quality, no excuse in my book.Enjoy the lovely appetizing picture I provided. Ive gotten takeout at Great Wall half a dozen times. The mains have always been fine, but the appetizers are consistently old and obviously been under a warmer for the last few hours. Its annoying to wait an hour for the order, then in the car discover fossilized egg rolls and rangoons unloaded into the bag when youre not looking. They would never dump the old appetizers on sit-down customers.Its also annoying to have the liquids styrofoam scotch-taped shut. Scotch tape is very convenient for the restaurant staff, but annoying AF to try and remove at home. Its not a mystery how to keep everything from spilling in the bag, yet here we are in 2023 and theyre still taping cheap lids to weak styrofoam containers. Youll have hot & sour soup and duck sauce leaked everywhere when you get home.DO NOT TIP IN ADVANCE for your takeaway, unless you appreciate a mess when you get home. In fact, ask yourself why youre tipping for takeaway in the first place.

Don’t eat there I recommend going somewhere else……. It used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant until a cockroach was crawling on the wall by my mom while eating, it ended up crawling on to the table into a cup of water! I jumped up and was about to walk out without paying my mom stayed and was talking to the waitress and she was making jokes like it was nothing. Remind you this is fall /winter time and at 11:30 am .I did not make a scene and freak out and be a Karen I paid the bill and told the cashier my mom didn’t get to eat all her food and we thru it out because the bug which was disgusting 🤢 imagine what goes on in back . Ive been going here for over a decade. I used to love this place but it started to decline and hasnt stopped. The food isnt as fresh and good as it used to be. There was not one other person dining there when I went last. The service was extremely slow. The wontons had just a tiny sliver of meat in it. I dont think Ill be coming back anymore. Great food and very fresh and authentic. I was hesitant at first because of the prices, but the food was excellent and they give you so much! The staff is very friendly as well. My family ate off of the same meal for 2 days... thats how much food was given. The sweet & sour shrimp and shrimp egg foo young is a must try. If I could give this place no stars I would the customer service is none existing. I ordered to go and they made us wait when I asked the host if our order was sitting on the table and the host said no so. We waited 15-20 minutes and she grabbed our order off the front table where it was sitting (which I had ask 20 minutes earlier and she said no) cold. They were busy so we moved out of the lobby to our vehicle so we did not take up any more room, they were not doing social distancing nor following any local health guidelines. I called to talk to the manager and he said it was my fault that they messed up and were missing almost the whole order. I told him we were just outside and to fix it or refund us and he said no not their problem. I checked how much they charged my credit card and my credit card company said that they also charged me too much and changed the tip amount. I am be disputing the charge (my credit card said that its fraudulent just based on the fact that they are charging for a product that I didnt get let alone all the other issues) I will also be informing the county health department which I have video of the lobby situation with guests crammed into, not wearing masks and completely unable to social distance and the BBB. Save your money even Panda Express has better quality food.

I just was disappointed in the way things went I order online and after I looking at the order I realized I guess I had push the wrong. The tea is incredible! I love the prices. My granny and I went for lunch and both got combos with the complementary tea and only water to drink our bill was only $14!!! The service is great and their food is delicious. Their Wonton soup is excellent and my granny is real picky about that kind of thing. Decorations are very dated and shabby. Service sucks. Food tastes like the chef doesnt care. They need visit from Chef Ramsey to bring the place back up to decent. Food was delivered cold and it took 30 minutes to get the first dish. Sent the cold food back and asked for fresh but they clearly just popped it in a microwave. Could have had better frozen dinners than this place. Also we got very swollen from MSG after we were assured that there wasnt any in the food. Ugh.

Was very excited that this restaurant has reopened and was looking forward to their 3 person dinner. The man who took my order over the phone was clear and easy to understand. The place was empty and my brother was able to just walk in and pick up our order it wasnt until we got home that things were bad. They didnt give us our extra egg rolls and they switched from sweet and sour pork to chicken (if you want pork make sure you specify and judging by what we got, you will want pork). The chicken chow mein did not deserve to be called chicken as their is so little of it in the dish. Sweet and sour sauce was very thin and closer to a broth. I have eaten here many times some days are better than others. After today not sure I will be back. The service was the worst I have ever had here. Waitress brought our drinks well into our dinner, they parked the dirty dish cart right in front of our booth and people who arrived after us received there drinks and dinner before we did. Been here before and it was good. Came back today and a number of things were so wrong about this place. First, the service was terrible and the manager was very rude. They gave us the wrong order, and then when food came out it was cold and when we asked if we could get it warmed up, only the rice came out hot as if they just microwaved it. The decor from the tables to the menus are very run down from several tables that are patched up with tape to old beaten down menus. Have been eating here for over 30 years. Food is always good and consistent. Lunch specials are a good and affordable. My favorite is the pop rice sislizing plate.

Ordered the lunch Beef & Broccoli was tasteless & sent bk. Replaced that lunch with Orange Chicken which looked dark brown & could not chew it. The few chicken pieces I did try to were greasy tasting . Made my stomach hurt. Used the bathroom & when returning to table something was burning in the kitchen. On a final note, my fortune cookie in cracking it open, had little brown spots inside. Looked like bugs -threw it away! Check your COOKIES - very disappointed & will not be back.

I have been going to Great Wall for 12 years, I took my daughter & my niece yesterday for lunch and there was hair in my beef chop s.,manager told me did I wanted them to make me another one I said no because I ate most of my food, and I was taking my leftovers home when I found the hair so at that time I was done and sick to my stomach, the manager told me well you still need to pay for the lil.bowl of soup that came with your lunch special even if your food had hair in it you ate all that soup I that that was terrible.

The most unprofessional restaurant that I ever come across no personality or etiquette on how to talk or treat customers when you have a complain about their food the chicken that it smells bad and it taste awful when you ask for a supervisor or a manager or even a store owner none available they all left the great wall maybe that’s the problem they should be someone constantly checking for the temperature of food being left out according to one of the servers that chicken been left out since the morning and they’ve been a complaint and I told him once again maybe that’s the problem the chickens been out too long with no one checking the temperature on the food out there well sorry to say I will no longer be going to this place it’s on safe for my family and good luck if you try to eat food there

I love this place, great food and staffs are very friendly. Roasted duck was so good and the soft shelled crab was amazing.
