One of my FAVORITE places in the valley for authentic Chinese food. Got the sweet and sour chicken which is so good. Chicken tasted fresh and all white meat. Also love the crunchy noodles with sweet and sour sauce. Soooo delicious.

Well today was my first n last time coming to this restaurant. they dont have their service organized, Ive waited for about 1 hour for some food that they said I would receive in 25 min. the inside looks like its the 1990 its smells funky carpet is so dirty, everything is old dated I dont recommend..

The food is AMAZING. the service was the best I have ever had at any restaurant. Not kidding. Portions are also large, enough for left overs! Anything you order here is going to be delicious, and its one of the only restaurants where the service makes me want to eat there.

This place has been in business for 48 years. I’ve been here going here since 1980. I love the food and the prices. The atmosphere is run down its true. In the large dining room there’s a large piles of boxes against the wall.. The carpets 48 years old and it shows. The back door does not seal. The building is rented by these wonderful people. It seems that the owner of the building is not taking care of it.

Been picking up food here for last few years. Order is always ready on time. Love their egg rolls, shrimp or beef fried rice, beef and broccoli, shrimp soft noodles, hot & sour soup, bbq spare ribs. We do some damage here.

They have been around since I could remember... At least 30 yrs coming here. Same owners, staff rarely changes, food is phenomenal, what more can you ask for! Not just the great food, but the service and staff are top notch! Used to come here as a kid, now I bring my kids here! Highly recommend the Walnut Shrimp and Sweet and Sour Pork! Jerry always takes care of us!

Dirtiest restaurant I’ve ever been. Just look at the carpets, the walls in the bathrooms, the place hasn’t received any kind of maintenance or cleaning since I think last decade or something. Atmosphere simply disgusting. Employees, cutting and cleaning vegetables on the tables next to the customers. They use, the eating lounge as a warehouse, so you are eating there while watching boxes and merchandise all over the place where clean seats should be.Horrid experience.

I came here with 3 teenagers and low expectations. The goal was to fill them up. Place has a great parking lot, the dining room is split into 2 sections and I believe the remodel happened in the mid 80’s. The waiter was great! Really attentive service and his recommendations made the meal. We had a beef/mixed vegetable dish, crispy pork, Mongolian Lamb and sweet spicy chicken. Portion size was big enough I took home leftovers which never happens with the teenagers.Definitely coming back.

Took some friends there to eat. when we walked in, we were ignored and waited for someone to acknowledge us. When an elderly lady finally asked us if we were going to dine in and how many in our party, we waited for another hour to be seated (we were about to leave). Once seated, we waited for another 15 minutes until we had to ask for a waiter to come by so we could at least order drinks. by the time the waiter arrived we already knew what to order because we grabbed the paper menus that we saw at the corner of the reception area. once our order was placed, still no drinks or even any water. When the food finally arrived. 5 out of the 7 people in our table got sick immediately and ran to the restroom to vomit. The restroom was so filthy that the first two had to go outside to vomit. How dirty is this place that you dont even want to vomit in a restroom due to its filthy condition. We asked for the check and to speak to the manager. When voicing our concerns to the manager, he apologized and stated that they were short staffed one waiter. (What does that have to do with the quality of the food?). he then offered to take $30 off our $100 total bill and showed no concern only stating that they have been in business for 46 years. Dont go to this restaurant!!! Thinking about calling the Health Inspector about this place. Dont spend your hard-earned money at this place. You will just be paying them to give you food poisoning.

And I think she took the phone off the hook because its now a perpetual busy signal when I call to check on my delivery....

We had a dinner special each which included tea, a cup of soup..I had won ton, & my husband had sweet & sour soup, we had appetizers of shrimp & egg roll, 1 entree each..my husband ordered shrimp in lobster sauce, & I had pork foo Yung. White rice was also included as well as almond cookie & fortune cookie for dessert. The food was delicious 😋 & the service was great! So much food, we had to bring some home for another whole meal....So happy I took my husband there for his Birthday dinner.😊

This was my second time coming to this restaurant. The first time was about 7 yesrs ago.I ordered the wor wonton soup and it was very delicious. My daughter ordered their specialty/house combo noodles, and it was also very good.Our waiter was a Vietnamese man by the name of Tai/Thai, and he has been one of our best waiters from any given restaurant. He was very welcoming and served us well. He was also very funny.I will definitely recommend this Chinese Restaurant, and I will be coming back soon.Thank you!

I have been here a few times when I visit my dad and uncle. The food is exceptional. These people can cook!Tonight we had beef with bok choy, some sort of beef noodle stew, some sort of seafood soup, roast duck, and some pork belly dish. It was freaking amazing. My uncle said some if this isn’t on the menu, and I don’t speak Chinese, so maybe this isn’t very helpful. Anyways, come for the food!

Beware of the hot mustard w/your fried noodle appetizer if it’s your 1st time. 🤪 And have your glass of water handy... My fave is shrimp w/lobster sauce. Have had a few B/D parties here & large groups are not a problem, but call for a reservation 1st on those. Prices are very reasonable & we’ve never had to wait for seating as the dining rooms are spacious.

Dont get me wrong the food is good, but recently the guy who helps with the take out orders is rude and annoyed to be working there. Last time we ordered a big family meal and when we arrived to pick up we where given a different persons order after we told him this wasnt our order he continued to tell us that WE where mistaken and that we didnt order what we actually did. After going back and fourth he finally saw that the order was indeed for someone else rather then being apologetic he gave more attitude when we asked for extra chili. Idk what the big deal is with giving away chili. We ordered 6 large plates and only got one chili thats half full? Probably wont come here for a while!

So frustrating. OK there was free tea followed by salad and vegetables egg roll. Normally before the main course is being served, servers should ask customers their respective drinks. 3 or 4 courses were served we called 2 waiters to order our drinks but they refused saying they have to finish serving first before raking our orders for drinks. We had the honor of dining with James the proprietor of Mandarin King. He shared with us some amazing bread and told us great stories. The bread was to die for! He made our visit like it was a visit to my mom and dads for dinner. David was a gracious host and becuase of them, we will be back very soon. Oh yeah the food! OMG the food! First time I had Mandarin King the food (which was takeout) was really good, but when I saw this restaurant in person I was really disappointed and a little disgusted. The restaurant is very outdated and it really REALLY needs a makeover. Sadly, my first experience eating at the restaurant my water glass had someone elses red lipstick mark on it. I didnt want to be rude and make a huge drama since I was with my boyfriend and his mom for a celebration. Again, food is really good, but they desperately need a makeover and need to keep the place and utensils clean.

I have been a frequent customer of Mandarin King as it is my neighborhood go to for Chinese Food. The food is good and fresh. My only complaint is the restaurant interior. The carpeting is absolutely filthy and should be replaced especially now during a pandemic. The entire restaurant needs to be renovated and updated. To start, some new carpeting, seating, and some fresh paint would help tremendously! I wouldnt dare eat in, I stick to take out only. I am considering not even ordering take out from here anymore due to the run down condition of the restaurant.

Lets first say, food here is great. I would always get take out with my family for dinner at least 3 times a month. Just came in for dinner and its the worst service Ive ever seen!We got sat, and given menus. The someone else came in, was sat, and was instantly taken their order before we even had tea in our table. We didnt have utensils/napkins/tea cups on our table. Waiter was rude and talked very low.WILL NEVER COME BACK INSIDE THIS ESTABLISHMENT, but i will order take out anytime.

The service was good, but the food was not that great. The lo mein was way too salty and the chicken was soaked in sauce. The food was pretty chewy and did not taste that great. The overall sanitation of the place is not good either. The bathrooms look like they are only cleaned once a week and the hallway to the bathroom is pretty messy. I would come back if the sanitation was better and if the food was better.

Beef and broccoli, chicken fried rice, noodles and tangerine chicken. It was more then enough food and for such a great price . Loved the Asian food experience. We did not know that you could get extra rice like you get tortillas at a mexican restaurant for free until the end but the food was really delicious and the traditional ambience definitely added to enjoyment of the meal. Lets be honest now, we all know the owners are very wealthy and making big bucks, so stop being cheap and remodel your restaurant. Its a good place to eat but if you keep being cheap people will stop comming. Your so cheap u dont realize ur losing money from not updating carpet, paint, chairs, tables, ligting, etc. Buy hey lets start with one thing at a time. Anyways, its a great concept with nice staff and good food, but theyre to cheap to evolve and will probably close soon as result. 😔

I have been coming to this place for over 25 years, NEVER had a bad experience... Had my wedding rehersal dinner here and reserved the back room, everything was absolutely perfect. We come here often, the food is great, the service is great, their walnut shrimp is the best I have ever tasted... My kids choose this place to go to for every birthday (we give them their choice). I drive over 20 miles to get here but I would drive more if needed... its absolutely the best chinese restarunt in all of Los Angeles.

I was recently here as part of a group that booked the back room for a private event. I will say that it was typical Chinese fare with the two attendants were fairly attentive. I do have two nits though. One, the private room booked by my group had boxes stacked and a folded up table leaning against the wall which detracted from the ambience. Secondly, in the mens room, the toilet handle had come out thus rendering the toilet unflushable. Other than that, the facility was clean and the staff friendly.

Ive been going here since I was 6yrs old Im now 34 🙊. My dad use to work at Numero Uno thats when he started going to this place.The food is amazing prices as well!!!! My Favs egg rolls, hot n sour soup, kung pao chicken, mongolian beef, broccoli beef, sea food trio, mandarin fries rice, dumplings. You can go during 11am-2:30pm and the prices are lower for lunch.We always order the same foods. If anyone knows any other good dishes let me know.

4 stars? hmm.. i think not. a definite 5 star restaurant. The outside of this restaurant is not compelling or attracting. But that shouldnt matter much if you seek some really good Mandarin Cuisine. You enter this old building and inside looks really huge. The high ceilings is something you wouldnt have expected. The restrooms are old school. I would suggest to update it a bit. Old school meaning it doesnt look like your modern restroom at a restaurant. The feel of the restaurant is nice. The menu is broad with many choices. This is the only place that makes the best mongolian beef. The beef with broccoli is pretty good. i would suggest beef with broccoli over rice with extra sauce. The main attraction to eat here is the fish filet. I would order fish in tangerine sauce and have it over rice with extra sauce. the tangerine sauce is definitely to die for. However, if you want to try-out this place first, I would suggest doing the lunch menu and come here for the cheaper and more affordable prices.
