We have been coming here for years. It is consistently good and authentic Japanese cuisine. The ambience is quiet and clean. The server is very attentive. Our favorite and a must is the wagyu hot pot. You must ask them for this option when they call you the day before to confirm. It’s $90 more but very worth it.

First thing I wanna say is a big thank you to our server and to the restaurant for being accommodating to us although we were about 15 minutes late for our reservation. To be honest, I wanted to love this place. But the inner decor and ambiance left a lot to be desired :( I would’ve loved if they even had some music playing or something, but all we could hear was the AC compressor whining throughout our meal…The food was also very uninspiring. The first two courses of the dinner kaiseki were good; I loved the salmon soup and the seared dish with the smoke. The sea bass didn’t taste like anything, just like boiled fish. The wagyu hot pot sounded super appetizing, but it turned out to taste like shaking beef boiled in tempura sauce. My partner ordered their omakase as the 2nd dinner kaiseki wasn’t prepared like I had asked when I called earlier in the day 🤦🏻‍♀️ the first course was lovely, the rest of the omakase came out on one plate:the seared pieces were good, but the fresh pieces were warmer than expected and just okay.I will say the meal ended strongly with dessert, the matcha tiramisu was lovely, and the yuzu cheesecake was also delightful.Once again, lovely service, our server was attentive and wished me a happy birthday. I just wish the rest of the meal was up to the same standard.

Our favorite sushi restaurant in the Peninsula!!! Authentic, very fresh and incredibly amazing food. Its been a while since we ate at the restaurant as were always doing take-out due to our busy schedule. But were so glad we were able to meet up with friends the other night. Weve forgotten how the food is even more amazing dining in. And the whole experience and overall presentation. Highly recommend this Silicon Valley gem!!

That was THE MOST AMAZING sushi takeout I HAVE EVER HAD. Already one of our favorite spots for sushi pre-SIP. It’s hard to do good takeout sushi, but this was up to the challenge x10. About as good as dining in person. The new menu items were fantastic. Sashimi was top quality (as always), and the fried rice was crazy good.

Not a large restaurant, good decor, this was a nice, quiet dining place with great services. We all had the $125 dinner set. Having visited Japan many time and lived in Tokyo for 3 months last year, I find myself comparing all Japanese restaurants outside of Japan to what I had in Japan. So, with that, I think the food was just a bit above average. For $125, the volume of food and type of ingredients included were acceptable. However, certain dishes were way too salty (such as the sukiyaki styled steak), certain dishes flavors were not satisfactory (such as the rock shrimp soup). The custard egg with black truffles and foie gras sounded interesting, but turned out not so tasty, too much in too little. The Alaskan King Crab was disappointing, the texture was mooshy, with very salty miso paste which would have covered up the sweetness of the crab meat. Anyway, it was unfortunate, because I was hoping for an outstanding meal!

Very small and intimate Japanese restaurant. The place has only 8 tables with 5 sushi bar seats that needs to be reserved. Tried the omakase and it was very good. Started with dash broth, light and yet flavorful. Variety of sashimi and nigiri were good quality. Creative with smoke hamachi, with a dome filled with smoke. My favorite was Toro ftom Japan, must have been slightly seared/torched, so good. All the rice was a little chewy but flavored. Finished with green tea tiramisu and chocolate truffle. I saw a lot of people trying out their seafood soup of some sort, which I want to go back to try as well as their different chefs tasting kaiseki.

Worst Japanese restaurant in the Bay Are.Ordered the so called mushroom rice clay pot. It was very simple, and looked/smelt/tasted like something I could make at home. The salmon xxx only had three pieces of salmon in it. Sold at $28.The sushi roll had very poor quality.

Giving 5 stars for attention:This place is horrible... i was never able to order... I went in at lunch time and the person directed me to go back outside and look at the Togo menu in the window, Im vegan so we went over the menu and I asked my questions and ordered an avocado roll and a seaweed salad.. after standing there, with my card out ready to pay he comes back and says we only have bento boxes right now.. which I would never eat for the fact that Im vegan. Basically I just wasted 15 mins of my 30 min work lunch.

Best Japanese restaurant weve found here! Very good service. Especially the urchin custard. Also good rolls/sashimi and the kids loved the shrimp fried rice.
