A hidden gem in the Town Center. CameHere with friends and we had a fabulous meal with great service and tasty food! Highly recommend! We had the walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef, mushroom chicken and garlic galore. All were super yummy and plates were generous enough to share. Service was attentive and impeccable!

My new favorite. Food was great. Tried all different plates. Had a party of 6 and every single person enjoyed their food. Amazing!! Lettuce wraps were different as they were cold but AMAZING AND FRESH!!!

The service was really good, it was easy to get to and there was a lot of parking. I liked the ambiance and the restaurant was very comfortable and pretty. I did not like the food, however, and I didnt think it was a good value. There were a lot of Thai items on the menu but it was more of a Chinese take on Thai food. The yellow curry was very off-putting and the vegetables had a weird glaze on them. Also, the pineapple fried rice was sickly sweet and also had a weird glaze on it. I just wasnt impressed and probably wouldnt go back.

Great Asian restaurantThe food here is very good.Their lo mein is very good, their fried rice is amazing, and their Mongolian beef is solid.Also had their wonton soup which is also good and their shrimp egg rolls, which where a little underwhelming but still decent.Their prices are very reasonable considering the quality of ingredients they use and the freshness you can taste.Customer service is also very friendlyOverall as an Asian bistro it fares very well to others in the area, but fall just short of the top notch ones found further out west towards SGV or even Hollywood. Nonetheless look forward to eating here again and supporting this local restaurant

My husband and I went there for lunch. We took advantage of their specials and everything we ordered was delicious. It is an elegant restaurant with big windows that face the fountains on the square. Its a bit more pricy than Asian restaurants in the area, but the food is good. The service is a bit slow.

Went here for the first time this evening. Food was fresh, great flavor. Mango Martini was perfect. Service was on point. Even boxed up my leftovers for me. Can’t wait to eat them for lunch tomorrow. Highly recommend!

The owner lady is rough on her servers dont tell them they did wrong were costumes can hear it. The two young gal servers were great. Oh and costumers cant read a menu too. Its not the servers flat...Only complaint 4.50 for ice tea is very high priced...

I like this place the food was really good. We went on a Sunday afternoon, it was not busy at all. Location it is great, even thought maps would direct you to the back of the restaurant which it is not an entrance.

I was very disappointed because I had high expectations but they had terrible customer service. The workers here were very rude and disrespectful even when you are trying to be understanding and respectful to them. I brought my parents, but the owner (the lady manager) treated us very poorly. The food they served was rotten and I spoke to the server about this matter but he didnt apologize and said it was supposed to taste like rotten. -Also they added that because we were vegetarian and refused to add fish sauce, it was the reasoned why the food was tasting rotten. It made no sense to me. Then the old lady manager came over and tried to do a long lecture with very angry/loud tone about their food and that they taste fine. I had to stop her many times. Very disrespectful in front of my parents. I dont want anyone to experience what I did. This restaurants may have some good dishes which I also thought before all this happened. But their mindset of customer service is completely wrong and they look down on customers. I hope in the near future resturants like this will not be allowed to open. It was a good experience to acknowledge that restaurants like this still exist.

Excellent food and service. Very nice atmosphere and the place is very well cleaned. If lucky enough to get a window seat, the views are excellent of the nearby fountain and lots of dogs going back and forth outside getting groomed next door. Our server was very helpful with the menu and was on top of the drink refills. I wanted my meal to come with some spice that wasnt on the menu, I was warned that I could not return for altering like that, but the food and spice came out perfectly. We all enjoyed our meals tremendously. Not a complaint at the table. Although a bit pricey, it was well worth it. You get what you pay for. Highly recommended to any lover of Asian food.

I wish I could give 0 stars. My good friend took me here for a birthday lunch. The empty dining room should have been a sign. We both got the chicken and vegetables lunch special. We felt ill just a few hours later. Both of us had nothing to eat before then that would have caused this feeling. We will not be back.

I waited to leave a review until my annoyance and anger calmed down, but even after sleeping on it, I still feel that the restaurants staff behavior was way out of line. After reading some other reviews, I understand the situation even better. What makes this review bittersweet is that some of their food was pretty good. However, when I had some problems with one of the dishes tasting a bit off/the ingredients tasting old, the waiter went to the kitchen and came back explaining that there was nothing wrong with the dish. Then after some back and forth explaining that there was definitely something wrong with the dish as Ive had the same dish at other restaurants with no issues, the lady manager came over and proceeded to lecture my table about how the food should taste and that there is no problem. I was taken aback by the sheer balls of this woman, but The Lion, The Witch, and the audacity of this Bit-- coming to our table and implying that we were the ones that had no sense of taste left a sour taste in our mouths literally and figuratively. Luckily after a little more back and forth they finally decided to not charge us for the item, but just the whole experience was condescending and crazy to see in the modern restaurant scene.In short, the lady manager has a huge pride problem that needs to be checked. Treat your customers better; its not a hard concept as a restaurant

A wonderful restaurant with delicious food and impeccable service. Our family has been here several times now and the service has always been very consistent. We have always been seated right away and didnt have to wait for our dishes for long at all, and everything came at the same time, which was very appreciated. Such delicious house wine and the music creates great atmosphere!

Best asian food in the inland empire. The canyon Crest shopping center is full of great places and this is one of them.We been coming here for the last 6 years. Food is very tasty. Reading from the previous review, the old lady name Karen who is the owner is known to be extremely rude and have many issues. She yelled at both workers and customers. I saw it myself last night sitting across from a table of a family. She was yelling and was extremely angry making disrespectful gesture to the family. Very disrespectful and unprofessional. I will never be coming back and tell all my friends not to come to this resturant.

I was the only one there, so maybe I just had not gotten the memo yet.I ordered the Emperor’s Feast, added the wonton soup.The whole entree came in 3 minutes; at the same time as the soup. I asked the waiter if it was pre made, because you cannot cook all those proteins in the time it took to serve it. He insisted it was made fresh. First bite was a raw mushroom, then I realized the whole dish was raw including the chicken and shrimp. Soup was passable.I will post another review on how the manager decided to treat their only customer in the restaurant

My husband and I are regulars at Monark Bistro. It is our go to place for a consistently good meal. Service is always friendly and Karen the owner always greets us with a smile and makes us feel welcome. We have many favorites on the menu and never tire of them. We often take friends with us and love that it is so easy to talk with each other due to the quiet atmosphere.

Went on on a Sunday afternoon, only two tables with customers. Had to wait several minutes for an employee to acknowledge us. As it turned out there was only one waiter who was also playing host. It took awhile before the waiter took our order and took quit awhile to get our food. The food was good, I had no complaints on the amount served and taste. The one waiter did pretty well handling the front of the house by himself. But, if you are in a hurry, find somewhere else to go.

I love this place. This review is for the takeout food only. The dine in food gets 5 stars however I had had the opportunity to order take out several times over the months. I was disappointed with the overall taste of the food. It just wasnt the same as dine in. Yep I know take out will always degrade some aspects of the meal. I gave it several trys and my family and friends who dine in many times agree there is something missing from the takeout food. There is a distinct lack of flavor perhaps associated with a change in chef ?? or source of food. Anyway I am not giving up and Monark. Thier dishes are usually stellar while dining in. I will wait til it reopens for a safe dine in experience and give them another try.

Everything was fine, the lighting and decor etc.., it was until the food came 😑.I never ever wanted to have the worlds blandest chicken fried rice on a very special occasion such as this, it literally had NO SEASONING whatsoever NOT EVEN A DASH OF SALT🧂 .Although, my fiancé had some decent lo mein 🍜, to which I stole a bite every now then because of my unflavored 🐔rubber chicken like fried rice. My co-workers & I were treated to a team 2019 end-of-the-year lunch at Monark Asian Bistro.I had the opportunity to try this delicious plate of pad see ew with fried tofu 🍳🍜😋 I was asked if I preferred fried or soft, which I appreciated! I had enough leftovers for dinner, and they were just as good then! 👍For an appetizer we ordered Potstickers and Egg Rolls, and as a vegetarian I can say the Egg Rolls were tasty 😋Attentive service for our group.I returned January 2020 with my husband and met a friend there to celebrate her birthday. She and I both had the pad see ew, hers with soft tofu and this time I tried the vegetarian chicken. My husband tried and enjoyed their broccoli stir-fry with vegetarian beef. He asked them to make it spicy, and it was the perfect amount of heat 🔥A bit out of budget to eat on a regular basis, but you do get what you pay for. I don’t say this lightly: the food at Monark Asian Bistro is inedible. My girlfriend and I recently moved to the area and were excited to try some of the local restaurants. Monark was one of the first we tried… big mistake.The food was tasteless with a rubbery texture and the service was unprofessional.We ordered two entrees from the “Thai” menu: Pad Thai and Yellow Curry. While we were trying to order our food, our server, Danny, didn’t look at us because he was busy swatting at flies in the air. This should have been the first red flag.The curry had no flavor or seasoning and appeared to have a film over the top of it as if it was sitting in a vat for a few hours. The Pad Thai used fettuccini-style noodles, very little sauce/seasoning, and the meat was chewy.Between the two of us, we’ve eaten at nearly 30 Thai restaurants in half a dozen states. Monark is BY FAR the worst. We took two bites of our food and sent back full plates. When our server asked if we wanted boxes we said, “No, thank you.” He asked if everything was okay and we hesitated at first. Immediately, he responded, “It was horrible, wasn’t it?” almost as if he’d heard it many times before.He explained that we still needed to pay for the meals that we didn’t eat—totaling just over $40. He went on to say that if we call back after 6pm, the manager will be back and will refund the charge.Of course, I call back at 6:30 and speak with Karen, the manager. She explains, “It’s in the computer” and there’s nothing she can do about it. However, if we wanted to come back she would give us a “food credit” (read: more terrible food for free). I said we didn’t want more food and just wanted a refund. She refused.If this happens to you, don’t let them charge your card. They don’t have to charge you for food you don’t eat. If they do charge you, they CAN refund it… but they won’t.

The quality of the food is quite frankly a league above many of the places Ive had in Riverside. Coupled with relatively modest prices and friendly service, Monark has become my go to for Asian food. If I had to have one gripe it would be that while the atmosphere is very traditional and pretty in its own right, it could be more uplifting, it feels slightly dreary. Overall, a very quality experience.
