Monark Asian Bistro
5225 Canyon Crest Dr #64, Riverside, CA 92507, United States
I don't say this lightly: the food at Monark Asian Bistro is inedible. My girlfriend and I recently moved to the area and were excited to try some of the local restaurants. Monark was one of the first we tried… big mistake. The food was tasteless with a rubbery texture and the service was unprofessional. We ordered two entrees from the “Thai” menu: Pad Thai and Yellow Curry. While we were trying to order our food, our server, Danny, didn't look at us because he was busy swatting at flies in the air. This should have been the first red flag. The curry had no flavor or seasoning and appeared to have a film over the top of it as if it was sitting in a vat for a few hours. The Pad Thai used fettuccini-style noodles, very little sauce/seasoning, and the meat was chewy.Between the two of us, we've eaten at nearly 30 Thai restaurants in half a dozen states. Monark is BY FAR the worst. We took two bites of our food and sent back full plates. When our server asked if we wanted boxes we said, “No, thank you.” He asked if everything was okay and we hesitated at first. Immediately, he responded, “It was horrible, wasn't it?” almost as if he'd heard it many times before. He explained that we still needed to pay for the meals that we didn't eat—totaling just over $40. He went on to say that if we call back after 6pm, the manager will be back and will refund the charge.Of course, I call back at 6:30 and speak with Karen, the manager. She explains, “It's in the computer” and there's nothing she can do about it. However, if we wanted to come back she would give us a “food credit” (read: more terrible food for free). I said we didn't want more food and just wanted a refund. She refused. If this happens to you, don't let them charge your card. They don't have to charge you for food you don't eat. If they do charge you, they CAN refund it… but they won't.

Pick Up Stix did not disappoint in this department. The menu boasted a diverse selection of Asian-inspired dishes, ranging from traditional favorites to innovative creations. Each dish was prepared with fresh ingredients and expertly seasoned, resulting in a burst of flavors with every bite. Highlights from our meal included the mouthwatering Orange Chicken, which perfectly balanced tangy citrus notes with a hint of spice, and the savory Mongolian Beef, featuring tender strips of beef stir-fried to perfection in a rich sauce. The accompanying sides of steamed rice and crispy egg rolls complemented the main dishes beautifully. In conclusion, my visit to Pick Up Stix in Riverside, California, was nothing short of delightful. From the inviting ambiance to the impeccable service and, of course, the delectable food, every aspect of the dining experience exceeded my expectations. Something Vegan

I come here 3 times a week. Always leave a 25% tip every time. I I even came over on Monday and dined in. Had my favorite server. Normally the service is great. Today they were extremly hostile to me. I was one 1% battery and called to ask if i could borrow the charger for 2 minutes to get a charge so i could call a ride home. I even said I would dine in, I literally chose the trader joes in this area so I could eat at “something vegan” after. But my phone died. The woman on the phone said YES to me if i dined in, she would charge my phone enough for me to call a ride. But when I got there with zero % they looked at me like I was a slug and where very rude and hostile to me and said no. Why Lie on the phone then??? The people who worked today and where there around 5:20pm need to take a class on etiquette. Dont lie on phone, dont be rude. This used to be one of my favourite vegan places . Literally would come over 3-4 times a week. No more!! Ill make sure none of my vegan friends come back either! Why is it always the people who work there at night, are rude af! Even last week the service was bad and i still tipped 25%. Service here as gone downhill. No greeting, no checking on you, even last week, no offer of water or dessert, . Just slapped bill on table. Still i tipped 25% . Still i came back . But you guys had to continue to show a lack in service. Thankfully Studio City has BETTER vegan thai with BETTER service. Also, if you go at night and are solo, they treat you badly because they figure smaller check with one person. ?♀️ Im literally the one who comes in and gives big tips snd orders a sample of everything, especially when its dead slow. Your servers that where on tonight and the one at cashier stand. Have just lost a regular, as well as 13 of my friends who come by very often.Only one server at “something vegan” is worth going. Go before 3pm, otherwise you get the servers who are rude.
Park Avenue Restaurant Polynesian and Mexican S...
4038 Park Ave, Riverside, CA 92507, United States
Food is good but I would refrain from ordering, or paying for any cooked food that is not readily available in the kitchen. We had paid in advance for a tray of panipopo and a tray of their yummy cooked muscles. However, when we got home from picking up the order, we discovered that the tray of panipopo -- was actually still raw -- i.e., the dough was still sticky and was not edible so we had to throw the whole tray out. The half size pan -- not the full size pan -- was filled with muscles but -- OMG -- it was not degutted or let alone cooked. Basically, someone had poured the raw muscles in the pan, followed by the coconut mix and literally handed it to us, raw. What the?? Unfortunately, we didnt figure this out until we got home and because we are extremely busy people, we never had time to go back and request a refund. Instead -- we just frequent other polynesian food markets in the OC and Long Beach.
Koreana Grill

Hi,We wanted to go dine there but when we got there we saw your notice in the door. I hope everything is well.Because i was very desperate for Korean bbq we ended up going to another place on Central, am sure i dont need to give you their name.Any how, it seem like a good chance to broaden my bbq experience but boy was i wrong. For starters if i wanted to eat delicious short ribs (because really why else you want to eat anything else) we had to pay the so called king price of $30 per person.I dont mind paying for food as long as its worth it.... so am not cheap, but as soon as saw the servings and the quality of the food i knew i was in for a rude awakening.I ordered my usual sides, lettuce (none available) pickled cucumbers (none available) for the kimchee i was brought the serving of what seem to be a single bite, so i asked for more. I also asked for onions and jalapeño pepers to grill, just to be served aged items that were more likely from the day before.I was trying to stay calm but when i saw the rice, it was literally the bottom of the pot, it even had that bottom film.I noticed that my burner was not really doing the job, and the meat was not cooking fast enough ( after eating at your place and living in Korean town most of my childhood you could say i know how to cook the meats) it turned out the gas tank was empty so they had to change it.The kid that brought the meats spilled raw meat juice all over my arm and hand, the kid that was fixing my grill flipped over myKimchee all over the menu, and another kid drop the meat so hard that almost spilled raw juice all over my food. The meat, well, spicy chicken and beef, not really spicy, short ribs were not seasoned enough and out of two of the portion one was not eatable because it was mostly fat with no meat. The so called cali meat was plain and so the spicy beef.Over all, i had a mediocre experience that cost me a lot more than what i pay at your place. The cherry on top was that there was no fruits or any desert as part of the buffet, and at the end, the tip was already charged. Why am i telling you all this? Because it reminded me of why i am super loyal to you guys, even more than LAs.I have been going to KG for the last ten years, my daughter has grown up in your tables, with James (i think) carrying her around the restaurant and making her special chopsticks when she was three yrs old.So thank you, thank you for your quality of food, your quality of service, and your quality of everything.Knowing the sad state of service at these commercial overpriced cold bbq places i want to ask you to keep providing us with such good food and culture.I hope everything is ok and hope to see you guys very very soon. Thanks a million,Jonas Chavez
Jade China
2712 Canyon Springs Pkwy, Riverside, CA 92507, United States
Our first visit was today for lunch, we are so sad we're moving away because this place is a GEM! I don't know how we haven't tried Jade China in the last 5 years, but man are we sorry. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated so nicely, the staff was so friendly and sweet. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and so unexpected. We didn't expect to be waited on and actually served, it was such a pleasant surprise. The menu had loads of great options and the prices are so unbelievably fair and inexpensive. My husband had the Sesame Chicken with Fried Rice (I think his was $9) I had the luncheon special of Orange Chicken, Steamed Rice, Chow Mein and an Eggroll (I think mine was $8) everything came out piping hot and so fresh, my husband fries rice came in a separate pan and they even served it to him. Our lunch was a total of $19.95! What a bargain!! Everything tasted great and we would definitely return, we plan on it before our move! Thank you so much for your AMAZING service/friendliness/ and great lunch!
Ramen Hayashi Fresno
6443 N Riverside Dr Ste 101c, Fresno, CA 93722, United States
The atmosphere and service was good but its better that I review it in this way since I dont want my experience to be viewed as harshly negative.Spicy Miso soup: 14$ if I remember correctly-Spice level that doesnt hit you hard. So be sure to ask for more if you are getting this soup.-Chashu charred and easy to pull apart and flavorful-Egg was actually really nice and this place gives you both halfs-Menma good nice and soft mouth feel-Seaweed added to the broth and made it interesting otherwise it was missing spices or a little ramen pepper.-Corn I liked it but some hard pieces of cob were still in the soup but at least its fresh and had a good sweetness-Green onions were present-Noodles were possibly the weakest part of the soup and didnt have no bounce nor wavy to pick up the broth or much of the onions. The thickness was more on the thin side of things.-Final recommendation is to pick and choose the good parts of the soup while you eat otherwise it will be a flat experience.Yaki Ramen:Overall a good meal and has a good amount of ingredients throughout the dish. Most bites had a good sized shrimp in it larger than a quarter. The noodles stood up better as a pan fry and I dont know if they reuses this same noodle for the ramen but the cabbage and furikaki flakes were nice and refreshing. The sauce didnt distract from anything and added to the experience.Servers were nice and provided some extras and were very nice. They provided a good amount of extras to make the soup worthwhile. I think ? the only negative I could give is that they did check to see if we did get water from the self service machine twice.Bathrooms are spotless and nice ?Note: I only review dishes compared to other ramen places
Marios Place

Valentine's Day dinner gone wrong so my wife booked Dinner reservation for the two of us at Mario's place and she specifically asked for inside seating which we all know there is a pandemic going on but the person she reserved with told her she would seat us inside so we expected to be seated in the outdoor patio were there is string lighting well they decided to sit my wife and I in front of there establishment with homeless people walking by spitting on the ground looking at there customers eat so what is supposed to be a romantic night out with your wife just becomes disgusting my wife got all dressed up for what was supposed to be a nice outing wearing her Mink coat her expensive clothing and jewelry so my wife did not feel safe sitting out with homeless people walking by looking us up and down so we decided to leave before even ordering a glass of water as you know if you don't have reservation made for this day you won't get into any restaurant as a walk-in so the night was ruined so today we get a call from the manager from Mario's place and he was just trying to give my wife every excuse in the book as to why they where not wrong never did he apologize to her once yet he was giving her a attitude over the phone so of course I got on the phone and told him unprofessional he was and I could not believe they run there establishment this way when you dine out and pay between $150-$200 for a meal you should get great service and a nice atmosphere should come with it not being seated on the sidewalk with homeless walking by and cars driving by smelling all the fumes from there exhaust mind you we dined with them the year prior for Valentine's Day and my wife liked it but now we will never go back I hope you don't continue doing this to your customers because it's just not rite.
Boba Cafe
1223 University Ave, Riverside, CA 92507, United States
The BEST pre-made tea I have had. Strong and sweet. Loved it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to strong tea drinkers tired of weak tea, fake Tea etc. I was highly impressed that they use real honey as well.. Good tasting ?honey! I liked their price is reasonable.. The cool vibe atmosphere of the place and nice person there. I thought the food a bonus. Im sure they can make less sweet or less strong if you like. I asked. That said, those wanting a whole assorted variety of boba including gel fruit types can go out into same shopping center. I am happy to say both shops were great experiences. However only this one did I get a beverage I found I could enjoy. I had to try and fix the other one, I but not right strength, sweet honey and cream. I will say my friend likes it better but we have different tastes. Go to this cafe! Learn what tea cafe and boba should be! Not weak, not mushy stuff... Really really very good!!!
Market Broiler Riverside
3525 Merrill Ave, Riverside, CA 92506, United States
Market Broiler Resturant. RiversideReviewed date 3-12-22Four out of five thumbs down ????????Consistently Bad Service, Small Portions, High Prices. The only reason why they did not get five thumbs down is that The restaurant has good parking, appears to be clean, and has a nice ambience. After being seated, my first greeting by the waiter was him briskly coming up from behind me too slam down a heavy glass cup on the table right next to my arm so hard that the people at the table next to me jumpedHe then walked away to come back five minutes later to pour warm tapwater into the cup I guess they have something against ice, I asked the waiter if I could have a large glass of ice to go with my water he told me yes but never returned with any ice. When the waiter returned to take my order he did not have a pen or pencil or paper to write it down.He had to ask me to repeat my order two more times this was not a good sign as a pen and paper are such a simple remedy to the problem, I felt right away that most likely the order would be coming out wrong and sure enough it did. This young man would make a better linebacker on a football team than a waiter in a restaurant, Bad memory short attention span not good with details and preoccupied with something. Before the food could be brought out to me the waiter came over and introduced another young female and said that she would be taking care of my needs that he was leaving for the evening and would not be returning, however continue to take care of other customers around me the entire time I was there. The female waitress seem to be more attentive but disappeared and didn't come back for quite some time. After about 20 minutes my food was finally brought out to me however the order was wrong.I had ordered a create your own combo with two items, item 1, Mahi-Mahi, item 2, Bacon wrapped scallops, I added a 3rd item, add an additional cost of eight dollars for golden fried shrimp, The two side dishes were coleslaw and chefs choice mixed vegetables. What I received;2 1/2 ounce Mahi-Mahi extremely tough and cold to the touchFour pieces of “coconut shrimp” Not golden fried shrimp, at an additional cost of eight dollars..One skewer scallops with baconThe scallops were so small you might call them bay scallops with bacon bitsThe coleslaw portion was extremely small and the flavor certainly was not traditionally sweet or even tastyThe portion size of the mixed vegetables was also extremely small. No one ever removed one dirty dish off of the table in the entire time I was there.I was presented with a bill with a undisclosed“5% surcharge snuck into The bill”.This was not even appropriate during Covid timesand Covid is over.Total bill before Tip $35.95. ??Overall I would have to rate the experience as very poorWhen I go to a restaurant and service is repeatedly poor as in this case I do not blame the employees as this shows that management is not doing a good job in choosing the right employees or in properly cm training the employees.I have included a picture of the meal that I paid $35 for as you can see the food portions are extremely small for the price and when you throw in the bad service and poor quality of food and preparation it's just not worth it.Sadly I believe Market Broiler‘s glory days are over!!!I have been a loyal customer since Market Broilers beginning, they have had difficulties every since their remodel and re-branding.Unless they can turn things around I don't believe I'll be coming back. ?
