Pho Rex in Upland

Seems like a new ownership of this original pho place that was here. One thing to mention is that the food was decent, but wasn’t the best that I have had in this cuisine. This place is more of a mix of Thai and Vietnamese food, which is not bad just different! Main thing I was concerned about was that I was trying to ask about a food allergy to egg, but they didn’t seem to know what I was asking.FoodWe ordered three different dishes and it came to be $50, so i would say it is more pricey than other places. The beef stew was flavorful but It seemed to only have a few pieces of beef inside. I enjoyed the Bun Vermicelli they had with grilled pork and grilled shrimp.Again if you are in the area and looking for a fusion, they have a big dining area. If you can’t decide between Thai or Vietnamese food this place can solve that for you!

Very good Vietnamese outside of Alhambra, CA. Nobody can beat Alhambra, maybe Garden Grove or Westminster, and that’s a big maybe. The Pho here, and noodles have a good taste. The beef stew was very good as well. At first, I was very worried because they were not a lot of Asian people dinning here. But I was comforted when I saw the guys serving the food because they know Vietnamese food for real. It was very close to traditional Vietnamese with a small spin. Good choice for take out too. I still want blood cake but they didn’t have it 😄😂🤣

We really enjoyed our visit! We were immediately given a friendly greeting. The food and service was great. Looking forward to our next visit at Pho Rex.

Hello its me again, i went here again myself because my wife stayed home today. I tried the orange chicken here and it pretty good, they cooked the orange chicken in a Asian way. Its crispy outside and chicken tender inside. And for my wife i order the Pho steak & fatty brisket togo for her. Thank you Pho Rex 2 & staffs... see u next week....

I had to visit the area and search for nearest Pho and found Pho Rex. I was a little reluctant because I don’t know the area and afraid to try new place, especially Pho 😝 but to my surprised, this place is clean, pleasant and attentive server. Able to have a chat w one of the owner, Nhi. Excellent customer service. AWSOME food, especially the dessert fried banana w ice cream. I will return You should give them a try 😜

This place used to be Pho Mai. The new management has taken over and had a mural of Vietnam painted, brightened the inside and removed some of the old clutter. The food is delicious Id rate it a 4.3/5 but where they truly win is the service. Not only are they friendly but they are very speedy!Food is typically out almoat within 5-8min from when you order! The only major complaint I have is the serving size for the price you pay should be a bit more generous.Atmosphere has definitely improved! 👌

We had a wonderful experience. I tried the ox-tail soup, and it was delicious! I also enjoyed the jasmine tea, and it was served in an elegant porcelain kettle! We also ordered chicken curry that was perfect. I will definitely return!

I’ve been coming to this place before new management. Food is still good, however the smell inside is somewhat unpleasant ever since new management. Not sure if it’s cleaning products used or not but it’s certainly unpleasant while eating. Other than that, Service is friendly and highly recommend the shaken beef and the shrimp spring rolls.

Always hits the spot...I cant believe Ive been coming here for over 6 years now when it used to be Pho Mai. I got to see the owners of Pho Mai retire and pass down their legacy to one of their own employees who took over the restaurant. How cool is that?I saw the time, energy and care the new owner took to not just take over the restaurant but to improve upon what was already existing.The renovations brightened up the restaurant and gave it a more modern look; offering a new, simplified menu.They kept all the same staff and hired on additonal staff who are all trained to provide excellent service.Service is fast and efficient even when busy without sacrificing the quality and taste of the food. Servings are good sized and reasonably priced.I come at least once a week if I can because I know I can get in and out even if Im short on time during my lunch break.I will always come back

The decor here is absolutely amazing I walked in I felt immediately comfortable and was greeted right away.I had to have the café soda and then once I was done I had the regular pho tai chin nam sach with extra peppers.I love the flavor and I love the fresh vegetables that came along with it like I said it’s very easy to enjoy yourself here the tables are far apart but very comfortable if it is deliciousand I’m even tempted to come back and try some of the beautiful desserts but I ate too much of my fault LOL I highly recommend the café sua da (Vietnamese coffee)Love it here!
