This could possibly be the best sesame chicken Ive ever had. The other dishes were excellent as well. The server was very friendly and attentive. Dont sleep on this one. Get in there and try it out.

Soul of China in La Quinta is an absolute Gem! We must say that the authentic taste of their Chinese cuisine is simply exceptional. The menu is diverse, offering a wide range of options to choose from. We got a few different dishes that we normally like to order (Beef Broccoli, Garlic Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Combo Fried Rice, Shrimp Lo Mein, and General Tso Chicken). The portions are considered quite generous with the current inflation, great value for the money.The interior seemed to have a warm, quiet, and cozy atmosphere when we were there and the lady server was extremely nice and friendly.If you are in La Quinta and craving authentic Chinese cuisine, dont miss out on this hidden gem, Soul of China!

The COVID pandemic has not been kind to this location. Their small footprint makes for a packed in location, so social distancing is tough.Even waiting for takeout is a chore. No patio, so that is not an option. This is a little storefront restaurant, buried in a shopping center that is just about dead, that offers really good food at a really reasonable price. It is small, maybe 20 or so tables, but the staff is always friendly and attentive, and overall the experience out strips the location. You can almost always get a table, they do a great deal of their business in take-out.We love their Lo Mein, and it can be had for less than $10. Recently took some friends their and we all had something different and all were happy with their meal. A real treat is the Honey Walnut Shrimp. A hearty serving of shrimp in a rich honey and mustard sauce with just enough sweet and just enough bite to satisfy.Its small and its friendly, and the food is good. No mixed drinks, the wine and beer offering are limited.Located in the center with the Old Town La Quinta Starbucks across from City Hall.

Located in Old Town whats best about this place is the people that work there they always have younger people most likely there first job and I think thats great the other workers make to feel like they own the location they really do w great job and the food the food is awesome, better than palm tree for sure.

Some of the items couldve used more seasoning but I like salt so... Your mileage may vary.Thats just nitpicking though, because the food is always good from here. Personally, there are other Chinese spots that I enjoy a little more but Soul of China is just right here in the cove, so its hard to justify driving anywhere else.

I ordered from this place because a coworker recommended it. I ordered the chicken curry and it came with a mountain of onions, a little bit of chicken and a few carrots with watery curry sauce. I called to ask what the curry was supposed to come with and the guy clarified that the ingredients were right. This is supposedly a better Chinese restaurant than others but I definitely feel ripped off, as if I had gone to a fast food place.

Love this place. Sure. They have an occasional off night but even the off night is good. Tonight was the norm and it was excellent. The Sesame chicken was just like desert. Sweet and tangy. We love the Garlic sauce and had it with both chicken and Fish Fillets. Very good. Weve been enjoying their place for over 14 years. We have tried other places which are also good, but we keep coming back here.

Just ate here last week. The menu has a lot of variety. They offer a la carte (very reasonable prices) and family meals. The family meal was a bit pricey but what we ordered for 3 of us fed us for 2 meals. My 10 yr old loved that they had orange chicken.The atmosphere was very comfortable, small eat in area but it was spaced out very well. The service was great, the waitresses were very nice and checked in with us a good amount of times to make sure we were taken care of.The food itself was flavorful with lots of vegetables and not greasy like some places. The family meal has a variety of meat options and all of it was cooked tender and was a good amount in the dish (not too noodle or rice heavy).It really was one of the best Chinese food places weve been able to find in the CV. We will definitely go back often!

My husband and I always look forward to enjoying a great dinner at Soul of China in La Quinta. I love the fresh traditional menu choices, the great soups, the fact that they don’t add additional MSG to the dishes and the cheery employees. I love the charming and intimate table settings and I hope they never feel the need to modernize and change such a cute restaurant. Places like this are hard to find and the food is fantastic! Thank you.

I really love the food here.. its really good its fresh and Ive been coming here for quite a long time. Theyve been very good with the covid restrictions and still being able to accommodate customers with curbside service and delivery they now offer in dining but limited. The owners and staff are super friendly and make the experience just that much better.

I love the food. I feel good after a meal and not sluggish, in another word, healthy.I have brought many friends here and one friend from Orange County insist I bring him here all of the time.Its a small family run business and i like to support people like that.Pricing is reasonable and I have always had great service. Stopped by there tonight to get some food for a last minute get together. The place had lost their air conditioning in the 115ﾟ heat. But I have to give the staff a lot of credit, the food was fantastic, the service was fantastic and their attitudes were great. Delivery was fast, but food was lacking. There are no size options, so you would assume it is the normal portions to share. The portion sizes were not at all what I expected, way too small to share, making it overpriced. The chicken was rubbery, the fried rice was bland and a bit hard, and everything was undercooked. Really disappointed, I dont buy takeout often, just special occasions, this was a special occasion and this ruined it. I trusted previous reviews and now regret it. 😞

I’ve ordered from Soul of China previously and the food was fantastic. However, this time it was absolutely horrendous. The fried rice was bland—absolutely no flavor; the lo mein was literally spaghetti noodles with soy sauce; the beef with broccoli had the chewiest beef I’ve ever experienced—I ended splitting it out because I couldn’t chew it! And the egg flower soup was entirely comprised of salt and water. I will not be ordering from here again.

Not a bad option if you are looking for some average American-Chinese food. The food was okay. They forgot to give me my chopsticks when serving the meals. I would recommend if you are offering lemonade in your menu please do it from freshly squeezed limes. You wanna create some competitive advantage. Furthermore, If you are into authentic Chinese food, this place shouldnt be in your options. Otherwise, it should be good if you are just looking to kill your hunger.

Best Chinese food in La Quinta. Hard stop.UPDATE - although the food is good, ordering through their website is a waste of time. They wont start cooking it until you show up. I ordered online 75 minutes ago and still waiting outside. Apparently they prioritize walk in orders, so a guy that showed up and ordered got his food before me despite me ordering 30 mins earlier. Not a good experience. BTW - they ran out of soup so another bonus.

I love the restuarant, its small and cozy. The staff and owners are super friendly and go out of their way to help you with any modifications to your allergies and they dont cook with any GMOS. My personal favorite on the menu is the orange beef, its a go to of mine!

I didn’t know there was such a thing as gourmet Chinese but this is it! The new owners certainly know about nouvelle cuisine. It is still traditional Chinese but with a twist – adding more avant guard flavors with a healthy twist. The current owners are the children of the former owners, and you should really give them a chance . The interior of the restaurant is freshened, with more of the clubby ambience of a big city restaurant-and there’s very interesting music playing. It reminds me of a place right out of Soho in New York City. Don’t miss this secret spot-and by the way, you can still have a romantic conversation or friendly discussion and hear yourself talk.

I have been coming here for years sometimes by myself for their very inexpensive yet tasty lunch menu or sometimes with my kids or you can take a date for dinner because its kinda cozy and romantic at night. Anyways I thought I had just about everything on the menu but I recently discovered that they make pad thai and its the bomb but they have all the classic Chinese food like beef and broccoli, orange chicken, lo mein and chow fun noodles, honey walnut shrimp, chicken and snowpeas and a bunch of other stuff I cant remember place is always clean and neat and very nice staff that is run by a very nice family I love this place and have them on speed dial

If you are having a stressful day this is exactly the place where you can detox and recharge your body with the calming surroundings and delicious food.The friendly and fast service only helps to relax you more as you taste your Kung Pao Chicken and Mongolian Beef alongside your Pineapple Sesame Side Salad.After the meal, the mood was not spoiled when the check arrived.
