The beef noodle soup is absolutely terrible. They literally dumped a jar of Sichuan sauce in there, you could see a thick layer of the sauce, tingles to your bones.The skewers are amazing, everything from the seasoning to flavor to quality of meat is PERFECT. they also have wife selection of drinks to choose from.Service is a little non caring, have to wave them over for anything.

We found this restaurant by accident few months back while visiting Universal Studio and we loved the food. Were visiting Universal Studio again and we made sure to comeback here and we did. Since were group of 16 people with lots of kids I called if we can make a reservation for 16 people since it was busy the last time were here. She told me she can set up 2 tables right now and we might be waiting since they have have to wait until other tables gets empty. I said thats ok and ask if they are really Busy she said its okay right now. We got there in 15 mins after calling and surprised that our table is already ready. I Spoke to the guy if we can have it separated and have 4 tables instead of just 1 long table since its gonna be on a separate tabs and its easier for us to pay. So he said ok and set ip up until this RUDE tall lady with a short black hair comes out telling us since we call for reservation its has to be in one check only, next time we have to get in line and wait until we get our tables no need to call for reservation. I told her since its 16 of us just wanted to save a spot for us if their busy and even asked her if she wants us get in line. she said its ok. They can still accomodate us since theres like 6 tables are empty tho. She was giving us attitude already but we didnt mind it coz we thinks that she got annoyed coz we have to call for reservation. But the whole time were there eating our dinner she was Fking rude. We asked her if can get our water pitcher refilled coz its out she just grabbed it whithout saying anything and my nephews phone fell coz he was using it as stand and you dont hear her say sorry or anything she just walked out. And we ask for extra plates and spoon and fork coz they didnt give us some and she just walk out and comes back just leave it on the the table with a big attitude. those are basic things that we need so we can eat and drink its not that were bothering her and kept asking for any thing! the whole dinner was disgusting i cant stand her. i dont wanna argue and make a scene coz theres other people eating beside us. So i just wrote on the receipt that she can be nice next time and she doesnt have to be RUDE and didnt give her any tip coz she doesnt deserved it! we are a paying customers and we didnt even disrespect her and gave her a hard time for her to be that rude to us!!! she shouldnt be working there if she doesnt not know how to respect and be nice to the customers!!The star if for the disgusting atttitude of their server, Tall with a short black hair lady!!!

The food is absolutely delicious no doubt about that. Very cultural. Id recommend trying the smoked chicken heart and fish chin. The service was very friendly and helpful. Very nice staff. The staff was very concerned about their food quality which is always nice. They were willing to go above and beyond to meet our needs. definitely give this place a try

Tasty and delicious. Really like this place, Japanese drinking foods. My favorite dish is the crispy pork intestine. Also the yakitori is on point and highly recommended.

Dont really understand why so many people lined up for it. The taste of food is around average and some of the dishes was super salty that we had to drink lots of water to dilute it. Beef tongue is not really authentic JP yakitori style but the Korean BBQ AYCE style that cost $10 for around 6 pcs? With the price and food quality, I dont think this is worth the money.

Overall very good. However it is pricey and the service can rub people the wrong way. Several dishes are excellent. But beware, dishes can be spicy, and if you order mild, its more like medium spicy.

The food was delicious...and the best part - it was open late for a dine in meal! Almost every other good Chinese food restaurant closes at 9:00pm. The Barn is open until 11:30pm weekdays, and Friday/Saturday until 12:30am! Who does that anymore? Bravo!

Overall, good food but lousy airhead waitress gave our chicken wings to another customer who came after us. We had to wait another 30 minutes. If youre OK with just sitting and waiting for food to come at snail pace, this place is for you! Lastly get your water ready, the salt level is high on all the skewers.

It was a 40-minute wait for five skewers and some fried rice. I was expecting the skewers to have a considerable amount more meat, they were a pretty skimpy to be honest. Im a little disappointed to be giving you 2 stars because the food was delicious but I dont think it was worth the price. 37$ 👀Though the service was slow I was greeted with a smile and a warm hello.I might come back one day... Maybe.

Food was amazing, but the service was absolutely horrible. The waitress spent more time hanging out with her friends than anything, then gave them their orders first despite being seated well after we were. They received their corn cheese right away while it took ours over 45 minutes. We also ordered 10 skewers but only got 7 of them added to the ticket. Thankfully, she must have realized how upset we were getting and gave a free drink and 10% off of our bill. This nice gesture is the only reason I can avoid giving a bad rating, but Im still mad about my corn cheese, man.

Last call is at 10:30pm for food. Dont be fooled by the 12:30 closing time. Seems like they start cleaning at 11:30 so last call for any food items is 10:30. They are very nice people and attend to every needs. Perfect for a night out!., A must try is their watermelon soju.

The service was decent, more slow, but overall had a fun time there eating. Friendly waiters. Food was so good. But I received a slightly charred squid. Just a heads up. Everything was great other than that. Atmosphere was very relaxing as well.

The interior design of The Barn is fabulous (Mixing Korean, Japanese Style) that attract people to come here. Therefore, we have to except waiting for a table because it is not a big places. Also, it has only 2 big tables so it can be a problem for big party. Because this place is small, service here is excellent, and they recommend food for first time customers. Therefore, based on food quality, it is still okay but a little bit expensive.At the end, I recommend people come here to eat Spicy Jelly Noodle, Fried Chicken, Chongqing Noodle with Chili Oil, Eggplant skewer and Quail egg skewer. Therefore, it is the place for small party to meet with old friends.

Nothing i dont love about this place...my go to when Im in the area and glad theyve weathered/ weathering the pandemic. Favorite dish is beef tongue -- perfectly cooked and flavorful. Kimchi fried rice is a meal in itself, but add a couple of each of the skewers and youve got a meal fit for a king.

Skewers come out hot and are well seasoned. Rating is more for the food than the rest of the establishment. Wait staff is not very friendly, but does an average if maybe below average job. Decor is confusing (urban rustic?) and pop music played loudly doesnt match the attempted theme of this place. In general, this restaurant suffers from an identity crisis which overall dulls the experience.

All in all, this place is a casual pan-Asian pub joint thats fun to go to during the Summer. The ordering process is simple, you just scan the QR code on the tables and order directly from your phone.

Acceptable, reasonable quality, but pricey late-night food. Grilled skewers were ok. Beef noodle soup had tasty chunks of well-seasoned beef but bland broth, with supermarket quality (overcooked) noodles. Other diners had ordered the seafood hot pot, which looked pretty good.Service was benign neglect. Music was really loud; we had trouble hearing our conversation. Decor was odd - like a recent Chinese immigrants idea of what a hipster izakaya would look like.Beware: if you dont finish your $$$ bottle of alcohol, you are not allowed to take it with you. So order your booze carefully. Or perhaps this place catered to the price insensitive.

The yakatori and many dishes are very good imo. Yesterday something was off. I want to preface by saying that their staff is usually pretty on point and the experience is relatively positive. Yesterday was more busy. So it really reveals and amplifies their issues and exacerbates their problems.The waiter didnt bring water when requested. And the rice was actually cold and drying out! When I ate the rice and chicken, the resulting dry food got stuck in my esophagus for 15 minutes. Couldnt eat.I also ordered cauliflower to go with the meat so I can have fiber which is important for proper bowel movement. It never came..Id say the emotional/spiritual energy of this place is stagnation and constipation. Why arent the orders flowing?Why? Lets dig deeper!Well I let the waiter know of these problems. He gave an overdramatic and insincere sorry. I didnt leave any tip after mentioning all these problems. He stopped me by saying excuse me sir, you didnt leave any tip. He looked surprised like its unfathomable. This guy doesnt have a clue! I said thats right!Tom petty. Short on staff. Short on abundant mindset of flow!Now compare this to a place like Langham Pasadena where they would apologize and immediately mention they will talk to staffing(proactive functional flow). If I leave without a tip, only thing on their mind is is there anything else we can do for you.. maybe a free drink? They would take no tip as an investment cost to ponder on how they can improve.The Langham is blossoming in abundance and more importantly good vibes.Ps. You have to be patient for your food. This place takes some time for the food to come out. I dont know if thats necessarily bad as I like relaxing in wait but its something to consider. Their kitchen staffing is a bit short and plus some foods take a while to make.. but its really good so I suspect some of the time is used to prepare the food well..

Been here twice now, both times after 8pm. For the drinks Ive tried the kiwi soju, which was very good. Tried the watermelon, blueberry and lemon slushes and, while all were very tasty, the lemon is my favorite as its a perfect blend of sweet and sour. For the food Ive tried the: cold cucumber (just right in spice), steamed chicken with chili sauce (sauce was good but the chicken was scant, almost all bone and no actual meat), chongquing noodles (i love this so much!), chicken breast with cheese (good compliment to the spicy dishes), quail egg (perfectly cooked both times and sauce is great), chinese chives (theyre good, but not my thing but Id still say to try them), zucchini (nicely cooked), and the eggplant (super bland and not very good at all). So the loss of 1 star went to the eggplant and steamed chicken. But this is a great place to go if youre not sure how hungry you are or going with people who are all at different levels of hunger and looking for different flavors of food to eat. Ill be going back.

The food was good not great, the meat selections werent as flavorful as other yakatori location, the vegetable dishes were the highlight of my meal although the eggplant was greasy. The service was the biggest issue the place was maybe half full and it took 35 minutes to our food. I might come back but I wouldnt plan on it

Its not the best yakitori place because most of their items were very simple and not really flavorful. I felt we could of made these at home. We tried everything - shrimp, beef, chicken, veggies, and their cucumber kimchi
