White Springs Cafe
18 N First Ave, Arcadia, CA 91006, United States
This is a cute little cafe tucked away on a side street in Arcadia. It is small and there is no indoor seating. You select from the menu as soon as you walk from in the door and then go up to the counter and order and pay. Inside there is a large flat screen TV and the music coming from it is absolutely deafening. Outside theres more of a buffer so you dont hear the music as much but its still pretty loud. There are two small tables outside with two chairs for each table. So this place definitely could not accommodate a large party or even a midsize party of four three. The menu is large and very diverse. They have Thai food burgers salads soups and some items that you wont find a lot in other vegan restaurants like fried shrimp. Keep in mind that the menu is vegetarian not vegan. They do have egg in some of the dishes and sides like fried eggs. The staff were very friendly and fast. The food came out super quick and was tasty.

Taco Bell
849 S Baldwin Ave, Arcadia, CA 91007, United States
Been hooked on the Chicken Cantina Tacos. Yesterday my picky 9 year old tried them plain. Just the hard shell and chicken. He loved them! Got them at a Taco Bell by our home. Today he asked for them again. We stopped by to this location on the way home, just a few minutes ago. I checked the food while at the window still, just to make sure the tacos were plain. The taco shells were all broken. I asked the lady at the window. “Did you guys just throw the tacos in the bag?” She replied “oh it's because we put them on the grill.” But I just got them perfectly done yesterday. So I knew it was their careless handling. I didn't want to hold the line, so I just left. Definitely never going back to this location.
Basil Thai Cooking
411 E Huntington Dr #103, Arcadia, CA 91006, United States
This is a great place to come for an eat out with friends and family. The waitress/owner (?) of the restaurant is friendly; our family loves Thailand, so we all know a few basic Thai words, which makes it fun to greet and thank her in Thai. I wouldnt say the food is the most amazing Thai I have eaten, but that is simply because my whole family loves spicy food-- real spicy food, not Americanized type-- and Thai restaurants tend to cater to the average Americans taste buds; therefore, not so spicy. On the other hand, the flavors make up for that, which is why my family and I love this place. Its an average priced restaurant, so I say, give it a try by yourself or with a friend or family member if you want to try the food but not spend too much with the risk of not liking the food. My family and I doesnt have a very high income, and we can afford this restaurant occasionally; if you are an average American, then I believe youll find the food and prices excellent. If you believe youre not an average American, then I think you will probably still enjoy it. Additionally, at the Monrovia post office, you can pick up a coupon book there, and in that book, there are two coupons for the Basil Thai, and we used both; they were very helpful! I highly recommend this place.
The Barn

We found this restaurant by accident few months back while visiting Universal Studio and we loved the food. Were visiting Universal Studio again and we made sure to comeback here and we did. Since were group of 16 people with lots of kids I called if we can make a reservation for 16 people since it was busy the last time were here. She told me she can set up 2 tables right now and we might be waiting since they have have to wait until other tables gets empty. I said thats ok and ask if they are really Busy she said its okay right now. We got there in 15 mins after calling and surprised that our table is already ready. I Spoke to the guy if we can have it separated and have 4 tables instead of just 1 long table since its gonna be on a separate tabs and its easier for us to pay. So he said ok and set ip up until this RUDE tall lady with a short black hair comes out telling us since we call for reservation its has to be in one check only, next time we have to get in line and wait until we get our tables no need to call for reservation. I told her since its 16 of us just wanted to save a spot for us if their busy and even asked her if she wants us get in line. she said its ok. They can still accomodate us since theres like 6 tables are empty tho. She was giving us attitude already but we didnt mind it coz we thinks that she got annoyed coz we have to call for reservation. But the whole time were there eating our dinner she was Fking rude. We asked her if can get our water pitcher refilled coz its out she just grabbed it whithout saying anything and my nephews phone fell coz he was using it as stand and you dont hear her say sorry or anything she just walked out. And we ask for extra plates and spoon and fork coz they didnt give us some and she just walk out and comes back just leave it on the the table with a big attitude. those are basic things that we need so we can eat and drink its not that were bothering her and kept asking for any thing! the whole dinner was disgusting i cant stand her. i dont wanna argue and make a scene coz theres other people eating beside us. So i just wrote on the receipt that she can be nice next time and she doesnt have to be RUDE and didnt give her any tip coz she doesnt deserved it! we are a paying customers and we didnt even disrespect her and gave her a hard time for her to be that rude to us!!! she shouldnt be working there if she doesnt not know how to respect and be nice to the customers!!The star if for the disgusting atttitude of their server, Tall with a short black hair lady!!!

I have been wanting to try this hotpot place and finally got to go this weekend. I came around 12pm and there wasnt a wait to get your table. The employee first assigns you a table and then you can grab a bowl and start choosing your hotpot ingredients. They have lots of options for vegetables, meat, and other hotpot toppings. I would say their noodle options are a bit lacking though. They have beef, lamb, and seafood options. A lot of Asian vegetables and others like mushrooms, baby corn, etc. After choosing, you give it to the employee to weigh and choose your soup. After that, they give you a key tag with your bowl number. You can also order their drinks and other side dishes here. I got the tomato broth since it is the only non-spicy broth and I wasnt sure how mild their mild is. I also ordered the brown sugar rice cake ($6.5).Then you walk inside and find your table and make your sauce as the sauce station. They have plenty of tables and the seating area is designed nicely and atmosphere is comfortable. The food was ready in less than 10 minutes. The broth tasted a lot like tomatoes and wasnt super special. The ingredients I chose were cooked well and did taste alright. I cant tell if the beef slices is good quality but it was quite fatty. And the brown sugar rice cakes were pretty good, not too sweet and fried nicely.I would consider coming back another time with other family to try another broth and see if that was better. I do like their hotpot system where you pay by weight so you pay for exactly how much you can finish and what it weighs. Their service is also pretty good, employees are friendly with good attitude.

Located inside H Mart grocery store, Kazu Nori is truly a hidden gem. They serve various types of katsu and curry katsu in generous portions at a very affordable price. Kazu Nori has quickly become one of my go to food spots and I find myself going there quite frequentlyFOOD:What I Ordered: Cheese Katsu, Curry PorkCheese Katsu: Seeing pictures of the cheese katsu on the menu, I knew I had to try it. Mozzarella cheese wrapped in a thin layer of pork katsu, what more could you want This dish is made for a true cheese lover as its probably 80% mozzarella cheese, so be prepared for a cheese overload if youre planning to try this dish!Curry Pork: I was really excited to try the Curry Pork. Curry katsu is one of my favorite comfort foods and this place definitely fulfilled my cravings! I love how they package the curry on the side so that the pork stays nice and crispy! The curry is super flavorful and the pork is juicy and crispy. The perfect combination. When I received my food I had no idea how big the portions would be, especially for the curry pork. The curry pork was packed full of delicious pork katsu. Each meal comes with cabbage salad, miso soup, and rice. Talk about making your moneys worthLOCATION:This location of place is so perfect because you could go to H-Mart, place your order at Kazu Nori, do a bit of grocery shopping/ just explore the market, and come back to pick up your food once its done! Alex Di Peppes
610 Live Oak Ave, Arcadia, CA 91006, United States
Craving for some spaghetti marinara, lucky for me I came across Alex Di Peppes. Its one of those place that you miss because it doesnt stick out. Well, to my surprise this place has been here for quite some time now and I cant believe Ive never been. They are just right across Carmines which sadly close down.Busy for a small joint. I noticed that they have a lot of regulars. One of them actually talked to me and gave me some tips on what to order. The staff is very friendly and courteous. When I ordered my food they made sure to follow up on me about how long my order was going to take.I ordered the spaghetti marinara and meat balls with a side of salad and garlic bread; its a bit salty for my taste, but the whole thing tasted great. You can order it full or half. We also tried the spaghetti with garlic and olive oil. If you like salty stuff then youre going to need some salt on the side for this. For me it was perfect. Lastly, we also tried the individual size of Hawaiian pizza. Just the right size if youre sharing and the flavors are just on the spot. The marinara sauce along with the ham and pineapple. Mmmmmmmm! Yummy. If you look around you will see the history of this establishment. Its great to know that a place like this still exist and I like how they are active within the community. I definitely insist you try it out if youre ever in the area.

Terrible customer service. I wanted pizza and their hours indicate that they are open until 9pm. So I drove all the way there. Arrived 8:30 p.m. and was told by a lady at the register that they shut their pizza oven off 30 minutes before closing, but I can order any pasta or salad.Ok. I ordered lasagna. Then she came back and said all of the pastas use the oven, too, so all I can order is salad. I asked to speak to the supervisor and two gentlemen who didnt appear bathed (which made me happy they werent preparing my food), walked up to me. I told them I had driven there for pizza and I understood if they wanted to stop seating people at 8:30pm, but its ridiculous that they dont serve anything hot for a half hour before closing - and that their website should state that. They both told me, We can do whatever we want to. Me too, hence this review. Based upon poor customer service and, shall we say, staff presentation, I wont be back and I would recommend others choose another pizza place that actually sells pizza.
