Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
32525 Golden Lantern Suite DE, Dana Point, CA 92629, United States
First of all, the food was excellent. No complaints there so I am really sad to have to write this. The name of the business is Pick Up Stix. You pick up the food to go. Its wonderful. My complaint is the customer service. We called for over 15 minutes to try and order food to go. We got off the freeway and called all the way to the restaurant and no one answered. My husband had the phone ringing when he walked in. There was not a ton of activity. There was not a line at the counter. The response when he asked the young woman why she didnt answer his call? I am too busy. He told her the phone was ringing now. Her response? She turned it off at the switch. No apology. Nothing. So a business that survives based on the amount of food it sells has an employee that turns the phone off so she cant hear it. I am a manager of a business and I can tell you that if I ever read a review like this about one of my staff, they would no longer have a job. The food is excellent. I think you need a change in staff that reflects the quality of your food. Trust me. This employee was not excellent.

My family and I decided to try the new LUA Asian fusion restaurant in San Clemente, California. Let me start by saying that the service was exceptional and the food was amazing! The smoked Pho was amazing! The best broth we’ve had since the San Francisco Bay Area. We also ordered the yellow curry with chicken and it was also so flavorful!! I ordered the chicken and rice dish.I’m sorry I don’t remember the name of the dish but the sauces are what really made this dish! The staff was so kind to us that they even gave us free flan! ☺️We also ordered the fried banana dessert with ice cream. Everything was delicious and everyone there was so nice! We will definitely be back!

Station Craft Brewery and Kitchen

The last thing I want to do is write a poor review because it's rare when I do these type of things but something must be said. Our Waiter Riley was such a good waiter and treated my friend and I very well!!! Although the menu was much smaller than I remember. That wasn't the issue. We used to come constantly before and it was our most favorite restaurant. My friend and I both ordered sliders that were like $15-$17; which Is quite a lot for sliders and was a bit out of my range but I didn't want to assume the food was going to be bad. After taking a small bite out of the sliders, I couldn't even swallow it. There was so much grease soaked into the meat, and it tasted like shoe leather with fake smoke. This also applied for my friends slider expect his was extremely dry. So of course we kindly asked the manager, Jason, if he could take those off the bill since my appetite was completely ruined by the disgusting food. He politely asked in a well mannered gesture why we didn't like our sliders. We complied and told him exactly what I said above, and with a smile he said okay and took them to the back. At first I thought he was such a nice manager with a good attitude until I went to the restroom. While I was heading towards the restroom, I could clearly hear him say that my comment was inadequate and stupid. I know working in a restaurant is a hard job to work in because I myself used to work in the food industry, but If this is the type of management being shown to workers and they feel it is acceptable to treat them like that, that is completely unacceptable at all levels. Seriously. After that comment he had the audacity to try and make me pay for the sliders my friend and I didn't even eat. When we brought it up to our waiter, Riley, he took care of it right away with a smile. I could tell Riley was a nice gentleman, and I just couldn't imagine working with a horrible manger like that and thinking that he makes fun of his loyal customers behind their backs. This is a bulky behavior and I will not return and I wish for others to understand this and follow my words. Please. Do. not. support. this. business. If you've ever returned something, the chances are that you've been trash talked behind your back as well by the manager of the store. Now, To everyone who took time to read this, thank you. And if that manager is reading, “Jason”, You are the most disgraceful and unfit manager I have ever encountered.

RAYA
1 Ritz Carlton Dr, Dana Point, CA 92629, United States
Disappointing Experience Not Befitting a 5-Star EstablishmentMy recent visit to the RAYA Restaurant at the Ritz Laguna Niguel was a glaring disappointment.Let's start with the positives: the view. Overlooking the serene beach and bay, the panorama is nothing short of breathtaking. The food, though well-prepared and flavorful, came with a hefty price tag and portions that left much to be desired. Now, onto the numerous shortcomings. Despite having a window table reserved for 7 PM and arriving punctually, we were left standing for an agonizing 30 minutes before being seated. This was particularly disappointing given that my wife had made this reservation to celebrate my birthday. Astonishingly, the restaurant made no effort to acknowledge this special occasion – no complimentary dessert, no birthday greeting, nothing.Once seated at 7:30 PM, it took another 30 minutes before we could place our order. In the interim, no bread or complimentary appetizers were offered – a standard in many fine dining establishments, let alone a 5-star hotel.Service continued to falter as we were served incorrect dishes twice, and the adjacent table experienced a similar mishap with missing fries. These errors are unacceptable at any restaurant, but particularly egregious in an establishment of this supposed caliber.Additionally, the lack of music created an unpleasant, almost train station-like atmosphere, detracting from the overall dining experience. In conclusion, while RAYA's scenic views and culinary potential are commendable, the overall service quality was profoundly disappointing. For the high prices commanded, patrons rightfully expect a seamless and celebratory dining experience, which RAYA unfortunately failed to deliver. This visit was a stark reminder that exceptional views cannot compensate for subpar service.

Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa
25135 Park Lantern, Dana Point, CA 92629, United States
This resort sits atop a large and well-maintained grassy hill overlooking the Dana Point Harbor. The grounds are large and contain multiple pools, hot tubs, event venues, and several restaurants. The gym is spacious and well-stocked and is usually empty.Valet parking is around $45 per night, and there is no self parking, but for stops under 4hrs you can street park by the park on the road leading up to the hotel. The rooms were acceptable and clean. The views are pretty nice - we paid for a partial coastal view room and the view was beautiful, especially as the sun set.The hotel lounge, called OverVue, is excellent! Their menu is a Hawaiian/Californian fusion with pan-Asian influences. Since we had the CA resident deal, we had resort credits which fully covered several hotel meals here. It’s a very fun restaurant and the creative menu really impressed me!Overall, my stay here was great and I would come back or recommend others to check this place out!

Chart House
34442 Street of the Green Lantern, Dana Point, CA 92629, United States
30+ Year Customer Lost - 4th of July ExperienceTL;DR: Chart House lost a 30-year customer due to multiple issues on 4th of July, including parking, food, fireworks, and management. The support staff was not at fault. The Long VersionI've been a loyal customer of Chart House Dana Point since childhood, celebrating countless special occasions there over 30+ years. However, after last night's 4th of July experience, I may never return.Overselling Venue SpaceChart House recently began selling exclusive dining experiences on their patio and terrace lawn, promising “private” fireworks viewing. While these events may be profitable, they negatively impact the rest of the restaurant. When making our reservation, we weren't informed about the private event's impact on access to areas like the terrace lawn.Parking IssuesThe additional seating for the event strained the already limited parking. Arriving 30 minutes early, we found no parking and had to park half a mile away at the Ocean Institute, arriving 15 minutes late for our reservation. The host staff was understanding and seated us within 10 minutes.Slow ServiceWe expected slower service due to the event, but it was extremely slow. Seated at 7:40, we ordered dinner around 8:30, received plates around 9:15, and asked for dessert to-go at 10pm. Despite this, our waitress Heather was great, and our issues were not her fault. Additionally, the restaurant ran out of basics like bread and straws.Fireworks Viewing and Management AttitudeThe main reason we won't return is the restricted access to the lawn for fireworks and the manager's attitude. In past years, we accessed the terrace lawn without issue. This year, wristbands and ropes blocked the lawn. Our waitress mentioned a small unsold portion of the lawn, and we took our 5-year-old there. However, the manager immediately stopped us and others from viewing the fireworks. One patron, who spent over $1,000, loudly expressed his disapproval. When my daughter returned in tears, I took her back out with the help of supportive staff. We watched the fireworks from unoccupied benches on the terrace lawn, while another patron confronted the manager again, voicing his dissatisfaction.Final ThoughtsMy daughter enjoyed the show, unaware of the adult commotion. To avoid losing more guests, Chart House should stop overselling the night or at least inform customers about restricted fireworks viewing unless they pay $150 per person for a VIP event.I won't be back and look forward to trying new restaurants at Dana Point Harbor.
