Secrets Of Tiger
6520 Hollis St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
Unfortunately, although I was very excited about the high Yelp rating, I was not shocked or amazed. I ordered the sirloin steak that I saw in another reviewers picture, and my order was not similar. The portion size was small. The meat was very grisly, and the chef did not slice completely through making eating it a bit of a mess. It was supposed to be strips but it was strips connected with a very tough strip of gristle. That said, the strips that I managed to break loose without pulverizing, were tasty when dipped in that tiny container of dipping sauce.Given that my whole meal was about 6 oz of meat, I expected a little bit more rice than I received. There was not more than three heaping tablespoons of rice. The chicken coconut soup tasted good, but Ive definitely had better. This is a dish that Ive eaten at literally hundreds of Thai restaurants and I feel highly qualified to evaluate. While Im feeling a bit Uber critical, I have to say something about the glass of water. I dont know what it is that causes this, but the water had a slightly fishy taste and smell. Ive had this happen before in restaurants.Service was very friendly and Id say it was even fast, especially given there was only one employee. He was doing his best to be friendly with every customer but being so short staffed, even in this very small restaurant, meant he was only able to do the bear essentials. The restaurant was immaculately clean, and their bathroom immaculately clean. They have a tiny dedicated parking lot, but I pretty easily found parking curbside.Full disclosure, I heard other customers leaving commenting on how amazing the food tasted and how they will be back soon. Unfortunately, maybe it was my choice of food, but I wont be back. There are too many better options for Thai food nearby.
KoJa Kitchen Emeryville
5959 Shellmound St #19, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
The only reason I am giving this place a 2 star is because the food is excellent but unfortunately they've lost a loyal customer due to their disrespectful, rude and arrogant manager by the name of Maria. I believe she may have lied about her name as she refused to provide the info to me today. I have escalated her blatant disrespect to the corporate office. Everyone else is pretty nice but ironically as a manager her attitude and disrespect is mind goggling. I truly hope she undergoes management classes and how to speak to people. This is her 3rd time attempting to bully and harass me to a point where she refused to provide a refund after I placed my order the way she advised me to do so then she attempted to recharge me. I'm shedding light on the harassment and discrimination by the manager at Public Market location.

I’m very excited to have Saucy Asian as the newest addition to the Bay St mall’s dinning terrace! This is a fast casual restaurant that features asian fusion fare and good vibes. It’s a perfect place to fuel up before seeing a movie next door at AMC.
The Sunday
3986 Adeline St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
If this restaurant gets organized, they could do well. We went to The Sunday on a Sunday and we were met with a 1.5h long wait, which was made possible by inefficient seating, short staffing, and a frenetic pace of service. The hostess was also the only waitress. There was a constant line out the door from the time we arrived to close.Lows? Many. We waited over an hour, decided to make a stop at a local coffee shop to kill some time, and came back just to wait another 30 minutes. Their waitlist estimate was inaccurate. After seating and ordering, it wasnt long before the food began coming out, but after nearly 30m of waiting we realized they completely forgot a dish - the first on the order slip.5 of us ordered tater tots (2 ways), bulgogi bowl, croffle, soyrizo hash, lemon ricotta pancake, and country fried chicken Benedict. All the items were well-executed, simple dishes, but generally under-seasoned and flat. The Benedict was missing and we were offered a discount on the dish, but when the bill came, it wasnt honored. We paid anyway to make quick business of our exit. The food was good, a half step above average, but it was outweighed by the frantic service, low inventory (nearly a quarter if not more of their menu was out), and missed entree.
Las Brasas Peruvian Restaurant
4336 San Pablo Ave, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
I saw that this place recently opened and was really excited to try it. My family and I ordered Lomo Saltado and the Ceviche Mixto along with some appetizers.Unfortunately, the Lomo Saltado was on the dry side and needed more flavor. The portion sizes were big, but that didnt make up for the lack of taste. The Ceviche Mixto was a no better it tasted like fish water with pepper, and the fish didn't taste fresh at all.We really wanted to give this place a try, but we were all very disappointed.
Summer Summer Thai Eatery
5885 Hollis St #50, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
I gave Summer Summer a rating of two stars a month or so ago, rooting for them to redeem themselves (because their food is out of this world), and they did that and more today. Despite the fact that the delivery of our food took three times longer than it should have (according to both the delivery service company, and Google maps), our meals still managed to arrive piping hot, and the flavors were simply amazing. Im afraid that it would only be the outfits that deliver Summer Summers food that would let them down, unfortunately. This is the second bad experience in a row that I have had with delivery (I have since learned that Summer Summer DID try to contact me to let me know that they werent able to fulfill part of our order, and that it was the delivery service that I used who canceled my order at the last minute. The delivery service implied that the cancelation was Summer Summers fault.)But back to the positives! I cannot say enough about the Summer Summers food - in fact my words wont do it justice. If you are wavering on whether or not to give them a try... DO IT! I promise that you will not be disappointed. Thank you, Summer Summer!Dont get me wrong - my office and I LOVE their food. It is authentic and delicious and well done. But they really disappointed me today - enough that I am writing this review, and hoping that they can bring their rating back up to the five stars that they really deserve. Our office orders pretty frequently from Summer Summer - like I said, its a popular choice for our office, because their food is very good. We routinely order 10-12 meals at a time. Today, as I anxiously watched status of our order online, I received an email saying that our order was canceled per MY request. I assure you that I most certainly did not cancel lunch for myself and 10 other hungry people that I work with everyday. Turns out that Summer Summer sent out the wrong order with our dasher, and then realized that they had food availability issues, and could not fulfill our order. Instead of simply calling us to see if we would accept substitutions (which I am sure we would have - we were hungry!), they instead canceled the order without contacting us. Not cool. If we didnt enjoy their food so much, I would say that we wont ever order from them again. Their food is that good, that I cant say that with certainty. But I do know that I will hesitate before ordering from them again. Its a shame.

Public Market Emeryville
5959 Shellmound St, Emeryville, CA 94608, United States
What can be said that hasnt already been said about the awesome little city by the Bay? Well, Ive been gone for quite a while and upon my return 3 years ago(during the covid lockdown), my favorite varietal food market was going through a renovation. Once it reopened, Im sure Emeryvillers alike were happy to see the newest space in their own backyard open up with new spots where foodie groups and families would have enough and great food options. I havent tried every restaurant but eventually I will. For starters, Mr. Dewies Cashew Creamery is the creamiest most delicious non-dairy dessert youll enjoy this side of the Bay! I dare you to get a cookie-cream sandwich with the banana nut flavored cream???These emojis says it all. My buddy says the fried chicken at Minnie Bells is the best hes ever had (since he left mommas home 20+ years ago!) ?. You can get all the soul food sides including kool-aid! Thats real savage for you soul food lovers. Ya cant go wrong with Super Duper Burgers, fries and shakes! I tried Pig in a Pickle, unfortunately it wasnt to my satisfaction. I only wanted a hotlink---and bread wasnt included nor barbq sauce. I had to ask for the bbq in place of mustard and a radish sauce...and to include the bread was way more than I wanted to spend on a spicy sausage, esp when Top Dogg serves the best! Thats just me. Theres something for everyone. Ima picky personal chef and baker ----originally from the Bay, so I needless to say-- I know good food when I smell it, see it and taste it. Congrats to all the food entrepreneurs at Emeryville Public Market! Please support them as you can. The industry is tough but if service and food tastes above and beyond---people will come back ..again and again and will meetup with a friend. Cheers!!
