Chubby yaki
12836 S Inglewood Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250, United States
Chubby Rice is an absolute gem, taking American Chinese food and elevating it to perfection. The entire menu looks and feels familiar, serving up classics like General Tsos chicken and chow mein. What you get is something that feels comforting, creative and ultimately very special. Its a place that I hope survives this quarantine and sticks around forever.Whatever you order, I recommend starting things off with the chubby egg roll. From what I understand it resembles a New York egg roll, although Ive never had one myself. What I can tell you is that this bad boy is enormous, crispy and packed with seasoned ground pork, cabbage and celery. Dip it in any one of their amazing housemade sauces, and youre in carbohydrate heaven. My love for fried calamari is well documented on Yelp, and Chubby Rice absolutely delivers here. This one comes prepared Hong Kong style with salt and pepper, but the result is airy and relatively light compared with other batter-heavy versions. Since this is an entree, you also get two sides. I highly recommend the fried rice, which is genuinely how I wish my fried rice would turn out.I have to be honest about this next one. Im not crazy about the General Tsos chicken here. The whole thing is swimming in sauce thats just way too salty for me. The chicken itself is fine and I like the crispy texture, but thats about it. I will cut them some slack here, because everything else Ive tried is more or less perfect.I have been eating pretty healthy during quarantine, but I am salivating as I finish this review. Its pretty clear that my next cheat meal will be from Chubby Rice. Looking forward to trying more stuff on the menu.

I thought this was an actual restaurant but it's part of a ghost kitchen or something. I got the chicken bowl and idk if it's just the chicken I got but it tasted old, not fresh. The veggies were also tasting some what frozen. This reminded me of something I could get from yoshinoya or something. Not what I was expecting, kind of dissatisfied and disappointed.

Employees always rude, they try to overcharge any way possible. You have to check your receipt. Food is ok, sometimes dry but good healthy choice........ its March 2019, gotta say..... gave up on this place. Everytime the lady in this picture has serious problems. She over charges everytime she gets a chance and trains the others to do so. She tagged me and starts her comments to others as I walked in, others look at me and my family like we are evil. When I havent even said anything to her. Tried to be extra polite but no deal, shes mean, rude and just awful experience everytime!!!!! This picture was taken of her first smile because she was goofing off with employees. Im afraid of eating here, who knows what she does to my food.

It was my first time trying out poke from this restaurant and I was not let down. I ordered the gochujang salmon. It was all really good fresh vegetables. The salmon was a good size and didn't feel like it was too little. Portions are good and balanced. All items on their menu are gluten free for those who can't eat gluten. All around great experience.

Best 3 star restaurant in California by my opinion. They stand out not just with a exquisite Asian fusion cuisine and really interesting wine pairing but with excellent service. Very natural, unpretentious and widely competent, that makes the high sealing minimalistic room seem all cosy and relaxed.

If youre looking for a great place to take the family out for dinner, Corner Joint is definitely worth checking out. They have a wide variety of dishes to choose from, and the prices are very reasonable. My kids absolutely loved the pizza, and I was impressed with the quality of the pasta dishes. The atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend Corner Joint if youre looking for a casual dining experience that wont break the bank.If youre looking for a spot to enjoy a few drinks after work, Corner Joint is also a great option. They have an extensive beer and wine menu, and the bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable, and its a great place to relax after a long day. I would definitely recommend Corner Joint for an after work drink or two. Finally, if youre looking for somewhere to host a party or special event, Corner Joint is a great choice. They have ample space both inside and outside, and they can accommodate large groups. The staff is incredibly accommodating and will go out of their way to make sure your event goes smoothly. Sushi Boy

Good food, its really fast, and you get a lot for your money. I get the three item combo, usually with teriyaki chicken and gyoza, and my third item varies. It comes with a good-sized bowl of miso soup, a big scoop of white or brown rice, and it says it comes with salad but thats just the lettuce that the rest of the food sits on. The salad is pretty disappointing and its weird that they even call it salad, but thats my only complaint about the whole place. The rest of the food is so tasty! Its fast enough that I can dive there (5 min each way), place my order, receive my order to go, drive back to work, and eat during my 30-minute lunch break. The staff are all patient and kind. I once saw one of the ladies explain nearly every item on the menu to a man who had never been there before, and she did not act even slightly inconvenienced or bothered.

El Pollo Inka

I always tip for services and the fact that now our only option is to do so at the beginning before being seated along with paying for food is bogus!I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 9 years. Customer service is top priority, esp at a restaurant and those who deal with customers nonstop. My experience today was horrible. I left a $20 tip, expecting a nice service from the servers but my expectations were far from what we recieved. We got our food before our appetizer -- we were already finished with our food when we got a hold of someone to ask them about it. (Mind you, these people dont even ask if you need anything; a water refill, if the food came out okay or if they can assist us with anything else. They just drop off what you ordered before being seated and go.) He said he was going to check up on it, comes back 15 mins later. We get our dessert right after our appetizer -- as the person who left our appetizer is walking away in comes our dessert.. I just think thats ridiculous. I was at a point of asking for a refund, not even a full refund for my bill but just a refund for the appetizer because I no longer wanted it after eating my food -- HENCE the word appetizer: BEFORE the food.. I know what its like to work at a restaurant so I have the patience and Im capable of understanding what the kitchen or waiters/waitresses go through, but to overhear from the table next to us that didnt even recieve their cups of water until AFTER they were eating their food is utterly ridiculous! The restaurant experience at Pollo Inka was horrible. I loved going there. There was this Latin waiter, on the older side, who worked there for YEARS as long as I can remember. That man made sure everything was good, his service was excellent, always served with a smile, was attentive and best believe his gratuity was above 20%! We always took care of him. Its a shame to this establishment if he no longer works there (which I have not seen him since Pollo inka has made adjustments with ordering food/customer experience). He was the only good thing left in that place.

Lunch buffet; mostly Asian style. ( wheel chair friendly)Protein: chicken, fish (several dishes of deveined shrimp and stir fried whole jumbo shrimp, mushrooms fish, calamari on salad bar, maked salmon, baked muscles), beef (broccoli only choice unfortunately)Sushi bar has about 8+ tasty different rolls to choose.Soups (4): 1 seaweed, egg based (2), 1 unknown to me.Salad bar: spinach, seaweed, lettuce, small tomatoes, boiled eggs, calamari, potato, coleslaw, artichokes, olives, and much more.Fillers: steamed rice, fried rice, white noodle, sweet potatoes, French fries, pizza.Dessert bar: 2 or 3 seasonal fruits variety of orange, melons, mango, etc. Pudding cream, chocolate, and banana, fried or raw banana, individual size cakes, and ice cream when the machine works.Everything is tasty and well prepared.Service is friendly and always around but overwhelmed when it gets really busy.Atmosphere is clean, comforting and something of the 90s or early 2000s. Could use a new face. Half is with booths, and the rest with chairs. Good for company luncheon and birthday party (you wont get help from the stuff though), It can fit big parties as tables could be adjusted.Overall a thumbs up and great value for the money spend. My favs are the sushi bar, cajon shrimp, mushroom chicken, and sweet and sour soup.I will include photos next time.
